The Papaver River runs quickly, South to North, underneath the plains for the most part. However, on one of the River’s underground meanders, a loop of river comes to the top ground, exposed as the Papaver Swerve. This bend of river supports beautiful wildflowers and a small spindly tree. The pure water tastes crisp and delicious.

Fruit and nut trees grow like weeds in this section of the Dteria plains. Wild birds migrating from their winter homes and resting on their way to the Southlands maintain the orchard. Haphazard and almost random in their placement, the trees provide shade and a fun snack. This place provides a safe place for young wolves to play and learn to hunt and for older wolves to think. Small prey animals are commonplace in this area.

Tall grasses stand up to hide almost everything. There are areas where the large prey herds press it down, but, for the most part, the area provides a great game of hide and hunt. The wild Switchgrass provide ample cover for both the hunter and the prey, making this a challenging place to hunt for inexperienced wolves. It is dry here and is sometimes prone to wildfires that are triggered by something like a lightning strike.
