OOC Information OOC Name: Eldarwen Link to Previous Character: Juniper
General Name: Orivir Alias: Ori Species: Eremus Gender: Male Age: Four Years Pack: Loner Rank: n/a
Physical Height: 40" Weight: 68 - 82lb Appearance: In terms of shape, Ori is a typical Eremus nothing really being particularly out of the ordinary. He is however quite a large example of his kind even before setting foot outside of his desert home. A tall male, perhaps slightly on the larger side when it comes to weight though these are the only ‘flaws’ in his figure.
His fur is a pale sandy colouration, darkening slightly mostly across his back and though also on top of his head. His most obvious markings however appear in the three dots beneath his eyes. Still subtle by comparison of most species, these dots are only a slightly darker and a little more saturated than the rest of his fur. His eyes are also rather light in colouration, being a pale gold colour, nothing really particularly vibrant about this standard Eremus.
A lucky example of his kind, Ori has retained some grace in his step, not a particularly clumsy individual despite those long legs. Not overly bold though, he tends to try avoid drawing attention to himself, therefore never exactly being the big, bold wolf throwing his little weight around. He often speaks with a fairly quiet, gentle voice rarely ever raising it.
Other: n/a
Mental Strengths:- Polite – When words do leave his mouth, it’s clear that he was brought up to be quite the gentleman.
- Trustworthy – Mainly in the way that he is someone you could tell anything to without worrying they’ll spread the story around, though he is also a wolf of his word, keeping promises he makes to others.
- Patient – He is happy to wait for things, feeling there is no use in rushing. He remains cool and calm in almost every situation, it would take something rather extreme to rise his nearly non-existent temper.
- Thoughtful – A thinker, he is careful and will consider things before rushing into them.
- Considerate – Whilst not exactly a social butterfly, he is of course capable of growing attached to some wolves. Those wolves he is often fairly attentive to, making sure they are ok and doing what he can to help if they are not.
Weaknesses:- Reserved – Whilst capable of dealing with the emotions of others, he tends to hide his own making it difficult for others to get to know him or understand how he feels.
- Shy – He will not generally approach others even if he deems it safe to do so, meaning he leaves himself alone a lot of the time.
- Submissive – He isn’t one to try take charge or want to be in charge either and so he feels it’s better to be submissive though this of course can lend to him being perceived as weak and living up to that.
- Self-Depreciating – With a tendency to put himself down a bit, he doesn’t feel he is worthy of certain things.
- Indecisive – Due to his careful planning of things, it can take a long time for him to decide what he wants to do not to mention actually doing things can take a long time as well, luckily he isn’t a Kukkien.
- Uneducated – He currently has a lot to learn about the world having only recently broken free from the desert and the company of Eremus. There are many species and many lands for him to learn about.
Personality: Kind-hearted Ori is certainly quite the gentleman, well mannered and polite it is quite doubtful that this male is actually capable of being rude to anyone whether directly to their face or even behind their back. It is that kind of gossiping, or lack of rather that often leads others to feel that Ori is someone that they are able to trust, and not wrongly so either. A secret will stay a secret with this one no matter how big or small it might be. Occasionally the word of advice to share that story may leave his lips if he truly feels it’s for the best, though he personally would never tell on anyone’s behalf no matter what he thought of the situation. This trust also expands to the fact that you can rely upon him to keep his word considering that he never promises anything he believes to be impossible, and far from being impulsive he would have carefully thought through the promise before making it.
That mind of his possibly works overtime in some circumstances, a very cautious male he will consider things carefully before charging on ahead and doing anything. Fortunately he can make up his mind fairly swiftly in easier circumstances, such as whether to speak to a stranger or keep on walking though more serious matters have been known to take a lengthier period of time before he has chosen what to do. Some may perhaps be irritated by this vigilant planning, believing this lack of doing things on a whim to be one of Ori’s negative points, though he personally ignores such nonsense, believing impulsive decisions to be foolish ones. He has a brain and he certainly feels it ought to be put to use rather than risking any stupid mistakes.
A very quiet wolf, Ori makes it difficult for himself to actually befriend anyone. For starters his shy behaviour means he is uncomfortable approaching others, well strangers to be exact. Acquaintances are a little easier to deal with, though even they cause a struggle for him, only really comfortable around friends but even then he isn’t exactly the most talkative, just slightly more open. Perhaps never open enough however, keeping himself very much to himself rather than bother others with his emotions. It’s attention he’d rather not have and therefore avoids in whatever way he believes he can. To some extent, perhaps this is why he is very rarely angry or annoyed, simply because he hides it well, though his patience also certainly helps preventing such emotions.
This silent nature combined with a submissive tendency means that Ori certainly isn’t a wolf you could ever see being even considered for a leadership position. He doesn’t want that role, and therefore common sense tells him to be considered the weaker wolf and ensure he shows respect to those of higher ranks. This of course can give the impression that he is weaker than he may actually be, but he is happy to live up to that, even if he gets pushed around a little in the process. Standing up to someone would cause him to gain unwanted attention.
To some extent Ori is a bit of a worrier of what others may think of him. Though he is neither a prideful individual nor one that wants everyone to like him, this worry is actually completely illogical, the only remotely sensible reason for it seeming to stem from that wish of receiving very little attention and worried that perhaps he will somehow manage to attract it, whether good or bad. The bad attention clearly is simply for want of personal safety, though having never been hurt the want to stay away from all attention is another thing that makes little sense without understanding the fact that to some extent he is self-depreciating, feeling that he doesn’t actually deserve so much attention, instead for those close to him he’d much rather be the one giving the attention.
History: What a thrill it is to sit down to read some interesting story, whether sad, thrilling, comedic or simply just plain scary. Unfortunately ‘just plain’ is all that is needed to describe Ori’s life, well unfortunately for anyone interested in the story of course, for Ori it couldn’t have been a better past really.
In the sparse lands of the desert, a small pack of Eremus were led by a happily mated pair whose first litter bore them two healthy boys, one of which is of course Orivir, the other his brother, Aineron. A peaceful and friendly pack, the brothers were well looked after and it seemed both boys would survive. Sure enough, the optimism proved to work with both making it into adulthood. Quiet from day one, little Ori found himself often watching as the bolder Ainer sought more attention from their parents and the pack. Ori was content though, his parents loved him and the pack was kind, it was enough for him and the set up of a shy, quiet one and the loud, bold one didn’t break, as the two became adults.
It was fairly obvious that Ainer would be the one to take over the pack one day, even with new siblings being born shortly after the brothers turned two. Curious, the two boys played doting big brother to their new siblings though to be the only sad point in Ori’s life so far, only one of the pups, a sister actually managed to survive.
This quiet little life continued for a while before Ori considered breaking out of the pattern to spend some time on his own exploring. It took him about a year to finally move from the pack though, and even then he didn’t stray far from the desert at all for quite some time. At last though he has decided to stray further from the lands though and realising just how much he has to learn about the world still.
