Seth’s wings flapped effortlessly as he floated up a warm air current, the sun had recently risen and with its heat flying became much easier. Warm air rose and just like birds he would float up the air currents and glide until he found another to float back to his previous height. Rivers and oceans often stole these currents, they made the air above them cold and so a drastic drop was experienced when flying over them. These were the basics of flying and so one could make an accurate guess of: avoid rivers and fly close to places that absorbed the sun and became warm.
He chuckled as he twirled in a circle, closing his wings around him and spinning through the mountains that made the valley he was approaching. He was doing a routine check of the land; it was part of his job so he thought. If it wasn’t then at least he had fun with his acrobatics. With a swift movement he righted himself, spreading his wings and eyeing the land below.
A feild of gold was spread before him, the morning sunlight seemed to make the gold all the more magical. With a grin he changed his direction and began a spiral towards the feild and within seconds the grass tickled his paws and he landed with a run.

[scrolly:h(260),w(420),sy] Below this flying acrobat walked a purple Lupuse, bright as the flowers she had strewn around the meadow. Her green eyes quite matched the color of the grass as she hummed a happy tune, content, as usual, with the beautiful morning. Several butterflies flitted back and forth around her, yellow, orange, red, blue, and she smiled at them all. Suddenly she noticed a Keiyou land not too far away from her, and she lightly padded over.
"Good morning. Enjoy your flight?" she asked, since he was obviously just landing. She sat down, her green eyes curious. He is rather handsome... she thought to herself, and smiled warmly at him. It was easy for the female Lupuse to make friends, but she had never had anything more than that.[/scrolly]

He was approached by a shocking purple lupus with green eyes, she almost looked like a walking flower. It was interesting and unique, but then again most lupuses were unique. Their colours varied along with the magic they had and, despite the fact that they couldn’t get into the sky which was a tragedy in itself, they had magic. She was one of the first wolves he had met upon joining the Children.
“Hello Flower” He said jokingly, he hoped that she would get his joke slash compliment. Either she would get it or she would yell at him and run off. Getting on the wrong foot with the first wolf of their pack that one meets would be a bit of a problem. Not something he couldn’t live with of course.
“I am Seth, Just joined the pack” He said, introducing himself off the bat. Made conversation less awkward once you knew each other’s names. He sat own, waving his lion-like tail too and fro happily.

[scrolly:h(260),w(420),sy] Kasmira laughed at his nickname for her, having been referred to flowers often, she took it as a compliment. Flowers were colorful and bright, and offered beauty and joy to anyone that came near them. At least, this was her opinion. She admired his wings for a moment, sometimes wondering at how much fun it would be to fly whenever you wanted, soaring through the clouds. She however was a wolf that gathered her energy and joy from the earth, such as her powers.
" Yes, I have been called that often enough, but thank you Seth. I am glad that we have so many new members joining, especially some as friendly as yourself. And may I ask what role you took in the pack? I'm a storyteller." she asked him, eager for conversation. Something about him intrigued her, and her own purple tail mirrored the actions of his, her head cocked and her green eyes curious as she waited for his answer. [/scrolly]

While she spoke he did a quick study of the surroundings, a habit he had had since he was a pup. He needed to know where he rested was safe for himself as well as for those with him. He grinned widely at her as she said he was friendly, it was something he tried to keep up at all times. Been a good guy was sure to mean you were remembered.
“I am a guardian, the reason I have been flying since dawn” He chuckled at the last part. A storyteller sounded like a brilliant job in the pack, he was good at stories but not imaginative so he could never come up with his own and he often got bored with them. Therefore it was something reserved for only his mind.
“Tell me a story then” He sat down, making himself comfortable hoping she would oblige. He liked stories, “Pleeeeeaaaaassssseeee”.He chuckled to himself, he sounded like a pup.

[scrolly:h(260),w(420),sy] The storyteller chuckled to herself, and smiled at Seth: Lately, she'd often been asked to tell stories, which made her infinitely glad to be able to share her talent with others. Her green eyes brightened as she thought of the perfect story, a happy one to make wolves laugh. She laid down in the fresh green grass that matched her own eyes and answered: "With pleasure Seth." She thought for a moment, gathering energy and organizing ideas.
Her eyes alight with imagination, her purple tail flicking back and forth, she began: " There was once an old wolf by the name of Derwin. He was wise, kind and gentle, and took care of the sick and needy in his pack. Every wolf loved him, and although he was growing steadily older, his mind remained as young and keen as it ever was. One day, a young wolf by the name of Cappar joined Derwin's pack: This wolf, although not unkind, was arrogant, selfish and vain, and grew jealous of how Derwin was so loved. Being strong, healthy and young, he challenged the older wolf. The winner would stay with the pack, and the loser would be forced to leave. The other pack members begged Derwin not to accept this young wolf's foolish offer, but the wise old sage accepted."
Kasmira paused as a patch of morning sun landed on her back, and she absorbed the warmth it offered. She continued her tale: "Cappar boasted and bragged about how he would beat Derwin, but Derwin just smiled and remained quiet, for he was wiser and had a trick in mind. Slowly he walked up to Cappar and said in an old and creaky voice: "Since you have the advantage over me, son, why don't you let me choose the challenge?" Cappar snorted, sure that there was nothing Derwin could do to win. "Fine, old wolf." he sneered, readying himself. Derwin smiled his secret smile and said: "I challenge you to run around this clearing one time. The wolf that reaches the finish first wins." The pack groaned, sure the younger wold would win. The race began and Cappar easily ran around once. Derwin was barely halfway through. Laughing, he decided to show off and ran around not once but six times before Derwin made it to the finish. "I win!" he crowed. Derwin smiled at the foolish wolf: "I said one time, Cappar. You ran around six times, so I win." he laughed. Cappar was mad with rage and envy, and left the pack in a fit of anger, never to return again. Derwin lived out the rest of his days in peace and happiness, never to be bothered again."
Kasmira finished her story, smiling to herself: It was a popular one her parents had used to tell her when she was a pup. [/scrolly]

Seth’s face lit up in delight as she said yes to tell him a story, as she sat down he sat next to her. He gently raised a wing above the two of them to provide protection from the ruthless sun and made himself comfortable. He loved stories; he had loved them ever since he was a child and could never get enough. Unfortunately their story teller had never been quite as creative as he should have been and so he had listened to the same stories over and over and over. He enjoyed each one none-the-less and had exactly the same excitement he showed now.
Throughout the story he stared at her attentively, his ears twitching at the high and low points of the story. He became engrossed in it and soon hated Cappar and his arrogance. He could not understand how a wolf could act the way that Capper had? Derwin was older than him and therefore deserved respect, it was ingrained into him from a puppy. Older wolves deserved respect. At the end he could not help but chuckle, Cappar was arrogant and because of that he was stupid. He deserved what had happened to him.
By the end of the story his wing was lying over her, nothing he had intended but his muscles had gotten weak. It had been a long while since he had used them for that specific purpose and they were used to been flapped and allowed to rest on the air while he glided. He was tempted to ask for another story but he didn’t, he was sure he was wasting her time. There were pups that needed to be told stories. If she wished to go off to where she needed to be he would of course accompany her. It was his job to protect the pack members after all and by letting her walk alone it would not be very moral.
“Wow” Was all he said as he lifted his wing once again, “Sorry about the wing, I didn’t notice it had fallen” he chuckled. “I used to love stories when I was small... well I still do but don’t tell anyone” He winked at her before continuing, “But our storyteller sorta sucked, and even that would be an understatement. How did you learn to be so good?”

[scrolly:h(260),w(420),sy] Kasmira's green eyes widened in surprise when Seth took his wing off: She hadn't even noticed, and she supposed this was because she felt so comfortable around the guardian. "It's alright, it blocked out the sun quite nicely, so thanks for that. And don't worry," she grinned at his wink, enjoying his company: "Your secret's safe with me." she answered. It always made her feel appreciated when other wolves enjoyed her stories, as it was always such a joy to tell them.
" Thank you for listening." she added. The Lupuse thought about his last question after laughing about the remark about his previous storyteller. Her green eyes misted over and her smile slowly slipped away as she thought of her family: They were gone, all of them, and she would never see them again... This saddened her, and it was the reason she never talked about it much. Other wolves saw her as friendly, happy, a dreamer, someone who was always positive. But there was also a hidden part to her, that she kept deep inside of herself for fear of letting it out.
"My parents loved to tell stories, and they were the main storytellers of the pack, although my father was also a fighter for the pack. My brother, Ember was his name, since he was all black with silver eyes, wasn't quite as patient as me." she smiled sadly at the memory of her brother. "He was always restless and wanted to be on the go all the time, but I loved the stories. I always found it almost magical how they could be so many different things at once, and yet still delight any wolf who heard them, young or old. When my mother and Ember were killed by an angry bear, my father never forgave himslef, and slowly faded away. He couldn't tell me stories anymore, so my older sister, Zippora, took over. She did all she could to raise me and look after my father, but he died soon after. My parents shared a very special and true love, but I guess they're together now. It's sad, isn't it?" she trailed off, wet tears glimmering in her green eyes.
" They loved each other so much, and became so attached that when one of them left, the other had to follow. Love like that is so rare and hard to find. My sister and I were happy enough for three years, until my pack was attacked by another. I don't know why, it all happened so fast, and Zip and the other pack members urged me to hide. So..." her voice trembled, shook with the emotion as Kasmira suddenly realized where her hate of fighting came from: I was a coward! she told herself viciously, to not have stayed a fought. She knew, deep down, that she would have died and most likely only gotten in the way, but the pain, the hurt was still there, fresh as ever.
" So I did." she continued. Once she started, it seemed she just had to tell it all. She'd never told the full story to any wolf before, deeming it her own burden to bear. " Later in the night, I came back. They were dead or gone, all of them. I was the only one left." a tear fell on the grass, and using her earth powers casually, a red flower bloomed, deep and vibrant like the pelt of her sister and mother. She bowed her head in shame, unsure as to how Seth would react once he knew how much of a coward she had been.[/scrolly]

Kasmira’s sudden burst of emotion stunned Seth slightly and as he took in the story he felt a need to comfort her but he didn’t know how. They had just met and maybe his comforting were unwelcome, maybe she would push him away. It was strange that she suddenly shared all this information, either she was an extremely open person or she just couldn’t keep it in anymore. With a few seconds of thought he determined the latter was true. She would not express as much sadness as she did if she shared this story often. He looked into her eyes, his own an image of her sorrow and his confusion at how he should deal with it. He was male, most emotions were easy to deal with. Tears rarely came because he didn’t feel emotion as deep as females did, one of the more important lessons of life.
He put his head on her neck, and surrounded her with both his wings, cocooning her so that she could hide from the world until she was ready to emerge. He sat with her in silence after she stopped talking, he would let her cry if she needed it. He hid the red flower with a corner of his wing, it seemed to bring memories and not ones that made things any better. He began to hum softly, a lullaby his mother had once sung to him, it was something that always proved to calm him. He felt a bit guilty because she had had such a sad past while his was not as sad.
Eventually he came to the conclusion of what words would be the best to say and before speaking he licked his lips. He was slightly nervous but also driven by the fact that he did not enjoy seeing the pain she experienced. “Sometimes things like that happen to make us stronger, by listening to your pack meant you fulfilled their last will. You let something of theirs live one and therefore your pack will never be dead.” He lifted his head, smiling gently at her. He tapped his nose on her chest as he continued “They will always be with you, here in your heart. You will never forget them and through you their legacy lives on. Their death may have been tragic but they all left something wonderful behind little flower”
He ended his speech with a grin, his wings still enclosed them but his head not longer rested on her neck. Rather he looked straight at her, hoping his words would give her a bit of happiness. It was all he could offer, they were just words. He could not fix anything unfortunately.

[scrolly:h(260),w(420),sy] Kasmira looked at Seth, surprised by his words, and rather touched that he knew exactly what to say to her. His wings were very comforting, and when he began to hum, the Lupuse smiled to herself, the tears in her eyes quickly drying to be replaced by a smile. It was true, what he had said, and the storyteller knew this, maybe all along. "Thank you, Seth. That was exactly what I needed to hear."she thanked him, truly grateful to have him there to listen. More than a little embarrassed, she quickly banished the memories from her mind: It was no good to dwell on what she couldn't change.
Smiling now, the tears gone, she decided that she had said enough about her own past and that maybe the guardian wanted to talk about his. She grinned at him, a mischievous gleam in her eye: "Well, I guess that's enough about me..." For now, Kasmira would keep the memories in for a while, until she was ready to deal with them again. "Do you have a family? Well, of course every wolf has a family, but any brothers or sisters? And who taught you that wonderful song, may I ask?" she asked, curious: The friendly wolf always liked to hear about other wolves pasts. [/scrolly]

He was glad that he had been able to comfort her, been happy suited her much better than been sad. By keeping her happy he was just doing his job of protecting the pack was he not? He didn’t need an answer to that, wolves did not only need physical protection but also emotion and hence his actions were justified even if in the end they were just humane things to do that most good hearted wolves would do.
Now her next few words posed an interesting dilemma, he had no wish to dwell on the past because just as hers had it dealt with pain but then again she had shared her whole past with him. It would be rude to just say I don’t want to talk about it. He could use his work as an excuse or he could change the subject? He was a bit hungry at that, but he would feel guilty. It was not right that she had shared so much with him but he had shared so little with her. So as usual he decided to do the right thing before what he wanted to do.
He cleared his voice a little as if telling a story, his life was his story, “I was born to a pack quite a few days travel from this land, far over the land to the east. We were a Keiyou pack with only pure Keiyou members, other members were not denied but they just chose not to. Our den was a sort of nest nestled in between many trees in the middle of a forest and so not many wolves could get up there. I was raised with strict morals, such as doing the right thing, putting others before myself and treating females like gold” At this part he bowed his head before her, grinning slightly. “But A lot of the time my asine actions would get me enemies which upset my mother somewhat. Nonetheless I continued to be myself, the enemies were not a good influence anyways. I also had many friends, no lovers though but I did toy with females sometimes and they toyed back. Nothing serious of course. In time the pack became fragile, new leaders took over and couldn’t rule the pack properly. The young wolves wanted to go off and travel the land and the old didn’t want to be caught in the middle of the fight between the alpha and the young ones. But I think it was many reasons that my pack fell apart. We sort off just disintegrated. My siblings flew off to other lands, my parents hung around until they died along with a few other elders. Some elders even decided to explore the lands. I decided to stay, the older wolves couldn’t protect themselves and all. So i fed them and protected them until the last one died and then I stay a few more seasons before I became a bit too lonely and came here.” He sat for a moment contemplating his past, he had shared everything. His life had been simple and straight forward and he had completed the duty required of him, ”So I guess I have always been raised to protect others” He said chuckling.
He was rather peaceful while telling his story, it almost seemed far off and distant. He had completed his mourning those months he was alone and now he was ready for a new start. Maybe he would start a family, or something. But he definitely wanted to have a mating ceremony that had been custom in his pack from so long ago. It didn’t seem the wolves around here seemed to have it though.

[scrolly:h(260),w(420),sy] Kasmira listened attentively to Seth's past, saddened that he had been left alone. "I'm sorry to hear that, Seth. I'm sad about what happened to your pack and yourself, but if it weren't for that, I would never have met you, so in a way, I'm glad." she smiled warmly at him, truly meaning what she said. Remebering what he had said about treating females like gold, she laughed, grinnning up at him: " Well, I don't think you'll have to worry overly much about the females of this pack... We're a tough lot, I think. But it's an excellent moral to have anyways." she said cheekily, thinking of Moonrose, Jackmara and Somatra, her friends and all guardians for the Children.
Stretching her purple form, Kasmira stood up, her green eyes fixed on Seth: " I am quite sure you are an excellent protector, someone as honest and noble as you must be. And I can see why the females toyed back." The lupuse surprised herself by saying, grinnning and winking at him. Well, she thought to herself in defense, we can all look once in a while... And it had been a while. Her tail swayed casually back and forth as she observed his reaction. " Unfortunately, I have to be going now, but I really have enjoyed our talk." she said to Seth. If truth be told, Kasmira enjoyed a flirt also, and something deeper lay at the reason for her departure: She had opened up to him, and that scared her a little. It was best to be alone for a while to think it over. [/scrolly]
