He grumbled a little to himself. Perhaps a mortui was a poor choice for a host. Though in the back of her mind, he felt her think somthing along the lines of healing.
"Healing powers?" He spoke outloud before thinking. That was different. He would have to ask her more about that later. He sensed another mind near by.... a desperate one. He reached out into the dream realm to observe. Another wolf was near by...and worse for wear.
"Subjects will come indeed....there is a weakened wolf not too far off...perhaps we can bend him to my will. And yes...that dark smudge in the distance is the Oasis..." His mind was all over the place now, a new excitement was filling his dark form. This could be a very profitable engagement.
Ma'at raspy voice brought him back fully into her mind. His red eyes glowed with a thirst for power and a spark of newly felt strength. "I have been called many things in the ages I've existed. Among them 'a god'. I will guide you for better or worse if you wish it." His firey maw split in a grin, and his four tails wavered in excitement.

Her chuckle crackled in the heat again. Apparently her strange body was of more interest than she could have possibly guessed. Then again, a Mortui with the power to self-heal wasn't exactly within the realm of normal as defined by her species. Most of her kin (though they were only kin in that they shared a genus, not some sort of relationship) no longer had control over their birth powers. Her's, on the other hand, had mutated with her. What was probably some sort of plant like manipulative power that encouraged growth had been turned inwards. She could regrow her own parts with a bit of focus, though the more she patched any particular part the faster it had a habit of breaking on her again.
But that was neither here nor there. There was a stranger in her new lands. Picking up the pace just a bit, she acted as if the land was coming to her rather than the other way around. Every step was another step forwards on a conveyor belt, the oasis drawing closer while she, in a sense, never once moved. It was the outlook Ma'at preferred to keep. She owned everything she touched through sheer will alone. This oasis was hers, and the stranger would be hers as well.
"Guidance iz not wat I seek, 'specially when my lot kin only git better." The corner of her mouth twitched in a smile. "You are my justification. In t'name uv my god, all'll be mine. Ours. Startin' wit our little friend." They were at the Oasis now, the soft green grasses replacing the roughness of the desert sands. For now she ignored the water. It wasn't like she needed it in the same manner as other wolves. Instead Ma'at turned and stood her ground, expectantly waiting for the Lupus to make his presence known. And once he did, she would own him. He was on her terra now, and with Apocalypse backing her every move it was time to start her collection.
