"Packs. . . I don't actually know any packs. . . I've never encountered one before this and obviously this doesn't exactly count as meeting a pack and I'm not sure I would want in to a pack where females are so limited anyway." Crystal answered the wolf and sighed. She scratched behind her ear. Now that her favorite scratchy stick was gone she decided she must scratch it herself. Then the other wolf asked about the desert again and Crystal's face drooped. "What is the desert like in the winter? Is the desert always hot? How did you get here?" "Okay. . . um. . . well. . . Yes the desert is always hot but it does cool down in the winter. It's not cold though in fact it feels just as warm as ever most of the winter." Then the hard part of the questions needed answered. She sighed again but decided she could trust this wolf enough now that they had spent some time together. She seemed like she wouldn't tell anyone. "How did I get here. . ." she mumbled. She looked down at the ground and then back at the wolf. "My parents and siblings died in the desert. We had been trying to get out of the desert in the first place because we had no water source and any we did find got dried up in a matter of days, but when they died, and I mean all of them, I tried even harder to get out of the desert. Eventually I couldn't travel anymore and I fell in the sand and slept. When I woke up I was in a forest. I assume a kindly creature brought me somewhere I could survive. I don't even know how long ago I was in the desert now and I still don't know how to hunt or what to eat." she listened to her own words and realized she made it sound better than it was. The other wolf wouldn't know about the blood she drank to sustain herself longer than the others. She felt a drop hit her nose and jumped. "Agh! What's that!" she looked up into the sky to watch the drop fall. "It's not bad what ever it is." she tried to cheer herself up after having to recall her past and retell her past. She looked at the clouds again and a drop hit her on the muzzle.

Eira was shocked the wolf didn't know any packs, but she remembered that Crystal lives in the desert. Finally, came her story. Eira nodded slightly and smiled at the wolf after she finished, sometimes, Eira believes that she has some sort of guardian, after Crystal mentioned a creature carrying her here. "Well, when I was a pup, my mother died and my father abused us all. He killed my sister, one day. One day, my siblings ran, except my two brothers and me. I remember a wolf one day came and took my brothers, and my father hid me. I remember sneaking out of the den, and leaving, and I remember my father trying to kill me. I recall a wolf named Gerwalf took me in and raised me as his own. To this day, I believe Gerwalf's spirit is guiding me through life, and... and my father haunts me through my mind." Eira looked down at the ground, and messed around with the dirt for a while, then finally, she answered Crystal's question, "It's rain, silly fur! It's water that comes from clouds, it provides water to plants, and all things living."
The ran began to fall down harder, and Eira smiled at it. She loved the ran. Actually, she adored it. She bark happily and stuck out her tongue to let the rain fall on it. It was quite entertaining, and she started to do a little strange dance. It was like leaping, but in circles. After that, she twirled around, letting her tails fly freely behind her in a circular motion. How many wolves are you going to tell that story to? Oh, shut up, Shasta! Make me! Then in Eira's head, she heard a voice. It was soothing, warm, peaceful, and low. It was a male's voice, and it was very deep. Okay, Shasta. I guess I'll have to. Eira stopped dancing, sat down, and stared into nowhere, listening to the conversation in her head. Has she gone insane? Has she gone mad?
Ha! You again? Ugh, I thought you were dead! I thought you were the one that was dead. Clearly you're either alive, and somehow have this weird magic power, or, you're not up here with me, and all of the good wolves. Gerwalf? No- Yes, I have been your guardian. I have communicated with an animal, and I have told them to move you somewhere. I wish I could come down there, but, I am now a spirit.
Eira definitely thought she was insane.

The other wolf responded to Crystal's story with a simple nod and smile and then told her own story of the past. Crystal thought her story was nothing compared to this tragic story and still had the sense that she had left details out too. "I'm. . . so sorry. . ." she responded with her head down. The other wolf played with the dirt and then answered Crystal's question. "Rain. . . That's a weird word. Do you ever wonder why words are what they are? Like why are words based on other words but if you trace it back far enough there has to be at least one word that started it all and it has to be completely random. I mean. . ." she stopped. She only talked that much around wolves she trusted and recognized as friends. The other wolf did a strange dance in the rain. Crystal observed her love of the rain but herself thought her fur was only going to cling to her skin tighter. Suddenly and randomly the wolf sat down and stared into space. Crystal was confused. "You okay. . ?" she asked slowly and partially concerned. The other wolf looked as though she was listening to something but if she was Crystal couldn't hear it. "What are you doing?" Crystal asked. She sat next to the wolf and nudged Eira with her muzzle.

Ugh, just shut up, already. Whatever, I'm bored anyway. Thanks, Gerwalf! You are welcome, and, snap back to life, love. EIra felt something and looked around, startled all of a sudden. "Oh. Uh. Right, can you, uh, can you repeat that?" Eira looked at Crystal and gave a small smile, and tilted her head. "Sorry, just, uh, just got caught in a conversation between my dad an my guardian inside my head." Eira then smiled and sat up, acting like this was all normal, and it actually wan for her. It was now pouring outside, now. Actually pouring. Like some wolf was dumping a waterfall from above. Puddles instantly started to form, and you could hear the loud, heavy splashes of the rain as it dove into the creek. Eira looked up, and stuck out her tongue before continuing, "Maybe we should find shelter. It's getting dark, cold, I'm actually hungry now, and I'm soaked. I know somewhere that we could rest for a while!" Eira started to slowly run to a little area at the end of the creek, or beginning, where there was a perfectly shaped den. It was dry inside, with a big, slanted rock being the roof, and a fallen tree covered the entrance, except for a little hole in the side you can sneak through. Grass covered the inside and out part of the den, so soft grass was for the ground. It was quite roomy in there.
Eira looked at the wolf and smiled before crawling inside. She could barely stand, but she didn't need to, for Eira was tired, and almost immediately curled up on the soft, dry grass. "Hungry?" Stay here. she asked the wolf before crawling out, only to get wet again. She jogged over to a small pond, and quickly snatched up three fish. Then, she grabbed another one. Eira held two of the fish on her way back to the den, and dropped them in front of Crystal. She then went back to retrieve the other two. Eira shook off before entering, and crawled inside as she placed the fish in front of her as she lied upon the grass, and looked at Crystal quickly. "Fish! Only quick thing I could find. Ever had one? I usually eat them like this," Eira then put one paw on the fish, and then on the other side, she ripped a piece off with her teeth. She licked her lips, and then her nose, and looked back at Crystal. "I don't suppose they have these in the desert?"
After Eira finished the first fish, she quickly went to the second. Then, after that, she yawned and curled up. Her tails barely touched her nose as she put them close together. She slowly blinked her eyes, as the soothing rain was like a lullaby. Eira almost instantaneously fell asleep, and soon found herself in a dream.
Dream:
Running, running, can't stop. "Must run away! But, who am I running from? Is he back again? Will the madness ever end?" Eira found herself by a cliff, and jumped off, but to only land into an icy pool. Then, suddenly, Eira was with her siblings, a pup again, then, she was in her den in the territory. So many things were happening. Her life was flashing before her eyes. Everything like a little scene. Then, two figures appeared in the sky. The one on the right was her father, the one on the left was Gerwalf. Shasta was on a storm cloud, with lightning, fire, and darkness behind him. Gerwalf was on a big, white, poofy cloud. Where the sky behind him was clear and blue. Eira was set in the middle of them. "Does this mean I'm bad an evil like my father? Or good and kind like Gerwalf?" Eira's blood-red paw then gave out a bright light, then everything went dark.
Eira woke up, panting. The rain was now a drizzle, and the sky was now night. She sighed and shifted her head around, trying to get back to sleep.

The other wolf hadn't heard a word Crystal had said and that was good because she had been blathering like an idiot. "I just asked what you were doing. . ." The other wolf explained her conversation with her father and guardian. Crystal had a sense the other wolf wasn't sure if this was normal for others but it was normal for her. "You know. . . it's not weird to me, I have conversations in my head too. Although it's usually just my thoughts battling with other thoughts." A large drop of water fell on Crystal's back and Crystal realized the water was coming faster toward the ground and was actually starting to hurt. The other wolf suggested that they find shelter and get out of the rain. Crystal nodded and followed the other wolf to her hidden shelter. The other wolf crawled in and Crystal followed quickly, a raindrop landing on her tail and she yelped. "Oww!" The other wolf asked if she was hungry and then without waiting for a response went to get some food. Eira brought back something she called fish and set them in front of her. Eira left and then came back with more fish. She showed Crystal how to eat fish and Crystal quickly got the hang of it and scarfed down the first fish. Eira supposed that Crystal had never seen fish living in the desert and he supposed correctly. Crystal enjoyed the food but wished she could of observed how Eira caught the fish so she could try once she left. Eira fell asleep soon after eating her own fish and Crystal laid down and relaxed also trying to sleep. She couldn't sleep with the loud hitting of the rain outside. It was not a sound she was used to so she resolved to talk to herself in her mind. She sighed and closed her purple-pink eyes to concentrate but on what she didn't know. Eira woke up panting and Crystal, still awake, freaked out. "AAGH! What's wrong!?" she jumped up. The other wolf tried to get comfortable again and go back to sleep. Crystal secretly wished something had happened to cure her boredom.

The wolf said something, and Eira then looked back at her as she was about to fall asleep. "Nothing, just a dream. Ugh. Hey, wanna do something?" Eira got up and started to pace around the den, she was bored, VERY bored, but couldn't think of anything to do. Eira sat down and tapped her paw on the ground swiftly, but quietly. Finally, she thought of something, "Would you like to play a game called, "Touch and Run?" So, somebody is it, and they have to try get the other wolf and run. The wolf who just got tagged is it, and they have to get the other wolf. Get it?" Eira smiled at Crystal and walked outside. The sky was half orange, half still dark from the night. A wind passed by, and ruffled Eira's fur. The lightness of the new morning and the darkness of the old night almost seemed to combine. Pink-orange clouds were sweetly put there for the beautiful purpose of sunrise. A few birds flew in the sky, but one was bigger than the others. Possibly a Keiyou, trying to catch some early birds. Eira turned around to face Crystal, and then thought that she might be around here for a while. "First, would you like for me to teach you how to fish, or hunt small animals?" It's been two days now, and Eira wasn't going to waste the rest of this one, and she wasn't going to go back to her den, farther in the territory.
One tail wagged, and one didn't. Why aren't there males around here? Shouldn't they be? Eira thought about that for a while, but then scented something moving. It was a jackalope, and it was near by. "Watch and learn." Eira sniffed the air, and crouched down low to the ground, stalking the poor little creature slowly. She licked her teeth, and peered over some grass, to see a jackalope eating berries from a bush. The horns on its head looked rather large, almost bigger than the critter itself. Almost instantly, Eira knew it was a male, but males are very fast. She got as close as she could before suddenly, the jackalope began running. Eira jumped as far as she could and ran after it. Since she has good speed and is a good jumper, she caught that little creature in a quick amount of time. Eira hopped onto it and bit the back of its neck, the swung her head furiously back and forth before it stopped moving. Eira jogged back to the den with the jackalope in her mouth and dropped it by the den. "Okay, so that is how you catch a jackalope. Now, I'll show you the fish part. Although, if you are hungry, you would have to eat this, because an animal might come and take it." Eira waited for a moment, and started to jog towards the pond she was at before.
"Fish are a little harder to catch, for they are quick, slippery, and in water. Watch closely. Eira then froze, with her head looking down at the water, and all of those fish. She didn't move a muscle. Not even her eyes. Once a blue-grey fish came by her, Eira shot her head down into the water so fast and so instantly, that water went everywhere as it made a loud noise. She tussled around in the water for a second, and then came up with a squirming fish in her jaws. Through her teeth, Eira began to say, "Ow, wih E ish, you ha oo I ow reary har wit your eeh, ill I op ooi." Eira bit down hard into the squirming fish, until it stopped moving and until blood shot into her mouth. She dropped it by Crystal, and repeated what she said before, "Now, with the fish, you have to bite down really hard with your teeth, until it stops moving." Eira smiled and sat down, "Now, your turn."

The other wolf got back up rather than sleeping again which Crystal thought was strange. The other wolf offered to play a game called "Touch and Run" she cocked her head and Eira began to explain how to play. Crystal shrugged. It didn't sound particularly fun. It just seemed like work, unnecessary work. Both of the wolves left the den and went outside. Eira apparently abandoned the idea to play and got to the real points of survival. "First, would you like for me to teach you how to fish, or hunt small animals?" The other wolf asked her. "I--" she started to say before a jackalope caught Eira's attention. "Watch and learn." the other wolf started to stalk the creature. Crystal observed quietly trying not to distract Eira or scare the jackalope away. Eira quickly caught and killed the animal and brought it to the den. She explained that if Crystal wanted to eat she would have to eat it then because others would come for it for food if she didn't. The other wolf quickly moved on to the next topic of Crystal's lesson. She explained how and why fishing is more difficult. She caught a fish in her mouth and she tried to tell Crystal something but Crystal couldn't make out what it was. She then killed the fish and dropped it near Crystal. Eira repeated what she had said when the fish was in her mouth and Crystal nodded. "Oh." she mumbled concisely. Then the wolf sat and told Crystal it was her turn to try. Crystal swallowed hard and shook herself off quickly, something she sometimes did when she was nervous. "Umm. . .Well. . . Okay." she fumbled over to the pond side and stuck her head over the pond to look at the fish as Eira did. She tried to freeze but her trembling gave her away. She hated feeling nervous yet she felt nervous all the time. The fish all noticed her trembling figure quickly and swam away. These fish are tricky. I don't like them. Hey! an imaginary light bulb appeared over her head. "Hey Eira? Can you sit over closer to the water, like over the water?" Crystal trotted over to the other side of the pond as she asked the question. She smiled slyly with her head perched over the water already. The fish already there didn't notice her because she stopped trembling now that she felt that she was in control of the situation. She just had to wait. The perfect moment was seconds away.

Crystal was clearly nervous, not good. Eira watched carefully, and then the Eremus seemed to ask her to sit over the water. "O-over? How does one sit 'over' the water? Do you perhaps mean to sit in the middle of the water? I cannot float sitting down. I'm sorry, I'm confused." Eira cocked her head to the side and squinted, but finally, she got up and sat at the edge of the pond and arched over. "Like this?" Eira looked down at all of the fish, and tilted her head. It was confusing indeed, Eira thought as she saw how slowly the fish were moving. So slow. Then, as Eira was looking into the water, she saw herself in front of the pink-orange clouds, the half light half dark sky, and the yellow-orange sun. Her-mud brown ears were the darkest of everything, but her warm, summer, fur almost blended in. Eira lifted her right paw, the blood-red one, over the water and observed it. She put it so close to the water, that the bottom of her paw was less than a centimeter away from all of the movement. Eira stood still, with her paw still barely touching. She wanted to catch fish herself, for if she moves quickly on this side, all of the fish will wander over to Crystal's side, where she will be able to catch them. Eira kept her paw above the water, and finally slammed her paw down, with her claws facing on a slight angle, into the cold water. The fish swam quickly away, but Eira felt one in her reach. She quickly dove her head down, and caught the fish with the help of her claws. When Eira got up, she had blood all over her mouth. It matched her blood-red paw, but Eira didn't even notice. Eira leaned back, with the fish still in her mouth, and threw it over to the den, where the food was still there. Eira thought to herself, Today is going to be a good hunting day!
Eira looked at the fish that she dropped by Crystal before, and got up to also throw that to the den. Its tail fell off, but Eira didn't care, for she didn't like the tails anyway, for they had no meat on them. Eira picked up the tail daintily in her mouth and trotted over behind Crystal before dropping it behind her. It made a disgusting slapping sound as it hit the ground. Eira slowly walked up beside the Eremus and looked down into the pond, without turning her head to look at her, "The tails, you can take off. They taste horrible, and they don't have any meat." Eira saw how her mouth was the same color as her paw, and panicked to herself. She slowly ran to the other side and dipped her mouth in, swirling it around. When she came up, Eira was all clean, but she remembered she forgot her daily grooming. So she sat down, and started to nip at all of the even slightly dirty spots on her fur.

The other wolf became confused by what Crystal considered and easy task but she didn't mind, she did that often herself. Finally the other wolf understood and Crystal nodded. It took a while, the other wolf was obviously thinking, for Eira to scare the fish but once she did it was worth it. While Eira splashed she still managed to catch a fish and Crystal was still waiting for the fish to accumulate. When the fish finally scrunched in enough Crystal made her move. She plunged her head in the water and grabbed as many fish in her mouth as she could at once. Apparently 3 fish fit in her mouth. She pulled her head up from the water and shook the wetness off her ears. She clamped her jaws closed as tightly as possible and felt at least one of the fish's deaths. She released her fish on the ground and one hopped back into the water one lay dead and one was struggling, not dead, but not really alive either. She felt bad for the fish, and watching it suffer did not help her guilt either. She grabbed the fish and crunched. She ended its misery. Eira threw the two fish she had, the one she caught and the one from before, to the den. One of the fish's tails fell off but Eira didn't seem disturbed. "The tails, you can take off. They taste horrible, and they don't have any meat." Eira told Crystal. Crystal didn't really care what it tasted like, any food she could find was good food. The other wolf rinsed out, or off, Crystal wasn't sure which, her mouth and then settled to groom herself. She attacked spots Crystal wouldn't even of noticed on her. Crystal especially wouldn't of noticed them on herself. "Fo owed I oo?" Crystal asked through her mouthful of fish. She carried the two fish she managed to keep over to Eira. She dropped them at Eira's paws. "Oh, sorry. So how did I do?" she asked excitedly.

Eira watched carefully, and was surprised at how fast Crystal had learned, and how she caught three fish. "You did grand! Awesome! Terrific! Now, try to do it without my help. You are the fastest learner at catching fish! After you finish this task, we will move on to catching faster prey, such as jackalope. Okay?" Eira got up and wagged her tails, smiling. She was really amazed at this Eremus's progress. She then picked up the two fish and trotted over to the den, where she separated all of the tails from the four fish they now had. Eira noticed the antlers on the jackalope, and wondered if she could rip the off. So, as Crystal was catching fish, Eira gnawed and tried to rip of the antlers. She stopped for a moment and said to Crystal, "Oh, and try to catch 3 more. The one you tried to get before that went back in the water should be weak." Eira tossed and turned her head, but just couldn't get the antlers off of the dang jackalope. Eira gave up, and picked up the four lonely tails that she ripped off of the fish and threw them in a puddle from the heavy rain last night. Eira looked at the sky, and it was turning blue, but gray clouds were coming in already. Eira was surprised at how much rain they were getting lately, but it was fall. It got a little windy, but it wasn't very cold. Eira can't wait until winter, she can't wait for the beautiful snow everywhere, and the frozen lakes, and everything! She smiled to herself, and walked back by the pond by Crystal. There were surprisingly a lot of fish in this pond. Then again, it was quite a large pond. There must've been at least 24 fish in there now. Eira stared into the water, and it wasn't really that deep. She thought it could go to her forearm, but that's about it. Eira caught two more fish at one time, but one was a little smaller than the other. Eira crunched on the fish hard, and then set them on the ground to take off their tails. When she finished, she trotted back over to the den and threw them outside. Now that they had 6 fish and a jackalope, Eira decided she should guard until they had about 8-10 fish. It would come in handy, and after all of the work without breakfast, they should be starving by the time they're finished. "I'm going to put the food in the den, okay?" Eira took two fish in at a time, and put them in the far back, where no creature could see them. After she got the jackalope, she stacked everything on top of each other and ran outside to collect leaves.
Eira gathered leaves off of the ground and ran into the den to put the leaves on top of their food, so nobody could smell or see it, and they would think it'll be just a pile of leaves. Eira rolled on the soft grass in the den before going back outside. It was warmer in the den than outside, and she wished she could stay in there forever; but they had work to do. Eira gathered the fish Crystal caught, took off their tails, and put them under the leaf pile on top of the other catches. Eira ran outside quickly and jumped into the pond, making a big splash. She wiggled around in there and groomed herself before coming out. She shook off, and water went everywhere. Her fur seemed to be like dancing fire, and her ears seemed like they were mud figures. Eira wiped her fur in the grass until she was dry, and then got up, all clean and fresh. "Okay, so, ready to learn how to catch jackalope?"

Eira praised Crystal after her catch. Eira recommended Crystal should try to catch three more fish and then she attempted to gnaw the antlers off a jackalope. "Okay." Crystal nodded and walked toward the side of the pond. She perched herself over the water and held still, waiting for the fish to gather. When 3 or fish were near she shoved her head in the water and pulled out two fish. She snapped her jaws closed tightly and didn't let go until they stopped squirming. She dropped the fish, both of which were pretty small. Crystal was slightly annoyed she hadn't gotten as much as her first attempt, but she had Eira's assistance helping her before. "I got two but they are pretty small." she informed Eira and then went back to the arched pose waiting for more fish. She didn't wait long, there was only a single fish, but the fish she went for was pretty big. She lunged after it and caught it in her mouth but it flopped around so hard in her mouth it scared Crystal and she dropped it. "Agh! Big fish! Big fish!" she half choked on fear. She fell sideways on her back and then got up and shook the dirt off in a cloud. She shrugged. Two is good. Two is good. she comforted herself in her mind. Eira was already transferring fish into the den. She hid them in the back of the den and covered them with leaves. It was a smart idea and Crystal thought she should remember it. They had eight fish and Crystal was sitting patiently. Eventually the other wolf suggested that they started to catch jackalopes. Crystal agreed they should. "Okay, yeah. Let's catch jackalopes." she smiled and walked toward Eira ready to follow her.

Eira smiled at Crystal and began to walk slowly and quietly, just in case a jackalope was nearby. "Remember what I showed you about catching jackalope? You have to be fast and smart. The trick is to-" Eira paused and stopped walking. To her surprise, there were a lot of jackalope around today, and usually there aren't a lot in this time of the year. Eira decided to demonstrate one more time on how to catch a jackalope, and crouched down in a stalking position low to the ground. She motioned for Crystal to do the same. Eira then whispered, "Now, the trick is to get as close as possible, and pounce! If you miss the jump and it gets away, run as fast as you can, got it? Good." Eira rolled her shoulders and started to leisurely move towards the jackalope. She was so close to the ground, her stomach ticked every time the grass brushed gently against her soft, red belly. Her paw steps were so light, you probably couldn't have heard them even if you put your ear right next to them. Yes, Eira was a master at this skill. Suddenly, Eira put her arm in front of Crystal to stop her, and watch how to catch fast prey. Eira got as close as possible to the poor little creature, which was closer than the first time, and pounced.
A loud shrieking noise was heard, and a few nearby birds from low trees flew away. Eira grabbed the back of the jackalope's neck, and bit it until the warm flow of blood came into her mouth. Then, that's when Eira started to shake violently with the animal still in her mouth. When she finished, she dropped the now dead jackalope on the ground, and panted. "Now, why don't you look around for a jackalope and try that, while I go back to the den and put this one in the pile?" Eira said as she smiled before picking up the lifeless body. She then trotted away and went back to the nice, warm den. Eira removed some of the leaves and gently put the corpse onto the others, and covered it back up with orange and red leaves. As she walked out into the morning, Eira noticed blood all over the ground.
She panicked, thinking that another animal would smell the jackalope's blood and steal their precious food. So Eira quickly jumped into the pond and ran out, then shook so water would cover the blood. She went to a nearby puddle and tried to splash some water onto the little trail with her muzzle. As Eira got up to look around for another way to get rid of the blood, she noticed blood was in the puddle. Eira leaned in and felt a sudden sting on her muzzle, and looked at her reflection into the water. It turns out, it wasn't the jackalope's blood. For it was her own.

Eira was ready quickly to show Crystal the way to catch a jackalope. She crouched into a stalking position and motioned for Crystal to do the same. Eira explained that the trick is to get as close as you can and then pounce and if you miss run as fast as you can. Eira decided to show Crystal again and started crawling toward the jackalope. Crystal remained in her position and watched carefully. Eira stopped Crystal suddenly and kept moving. She pounced on the jackalope and shook it viciously. Then she dropped the jackalope on the ground. Crystal knew it was dead and Eira started panting. "Wow." Crystal mumbled amazed. Eira suggested that Crystal should try to catch a jackalope herself while Eira put the jackalope she had caught in the den. Eira left and Crystal started looking for a jackalope to kill. She walked around and noticed something moving. She sneaked up close to the jackalope and creeped toward it. Once she thought she was close enough to it she pounced. She grabbed the jackalope but it squirmed and she couldn't kep it in her mouth. "Dang it!" she yelled out loud. She tried again, following the jackalope slowly. She stalked it slowly and waited for it to slow down so she could get close again. Eventually the jackalope slowed down and Crystal approached for the pounce. She got really close and when she got close enough she pounced again. She grabbed it in her mouth and shook it around. It literally flung Crystal's head around with its thrashing. She tasted blood so she shook her head even more until it stopped moving. She dropped it and looked at it. "Eww. . ." she mumbled with it drowning in its own blood. She carried it back to the den and saw Eira staring at her reflection in the water. "You okay?" Crystal asked after dropping the jackalope next to her. OOC: Okay, I fixed it I think! XD

Pretty much Eira's whole muzzle was bleeding. How did this happen?[/b][/color] she thought as Eira saw the reflection of her bleeding muzzle. Another figure appeared, for it was Crystal, and she asked if she was okay. "Oh, uh, yes, I am.. uh... I am fine." Eira picked up the jackalope, and pretended her muzzle wasn't bleeding as she hid it under all of the leaves. When she came back out, she spoke again, "Hungry? I'm starving! It's finally time to eat what we deserve!" Eira ran inside and quickly brought out the three jackalopes, and the eight fish outside by Crystal. Suddenly, Eira remembered she never gave any of the food praise, so she sat down and did that right now. Oh Great Fish and Great Jackalopes, please allow for me to feast on you, and I am terribly sorry for not doing this before. I know that now you are just spirits in your heavenly world, but please, if you can hear me, allow my friend Crystal and I to feast on you to survive. Thank you. Eira opened her eyes and started eating. She was acting quite weird today, first pretending not to notice her bleeding muzzle, and then, praising the food. Actually, it wasn't weird for Eira, for she praises for prey all the time; she just thought it might be weird for Crystal.
Eira first started to munch on a tail-less fish, and then, she started to rip the jackalope piece by piece, giving herself small, meaty, bits at a time.
[OOC: Sorry for the shortness, my muse is low today :/]

Crystal hadn't intended to make Eira uncomfortable but when she asked if Eira was okay Eira became flustered. Eira asked if Crystal was hungry and Crystal nodded excitedly. Eira brought out the dead prey and then sat and gave the food praise. Crystal wasn't sure what Eira was doing but she went along with it and also sat. Finally Eira began to eat and Crystal did the same. She nibbled on a fish and spend as long as possible on one bite savoring the taste. The last fish she had had she devoured but she wanted to remember the taste forever. When Eira started on her jackalope Crystal watched intently on how Eira ate it. She figured it was weird staring at other wolves while they ate but she wanted to see how Eira would eat it and then mimic it. Eira ripped bit by bit off of the jackalope and Crystal did the same. Once she had some jackalope she went back to her fish. She decided not to spend too much time on one food or the taste became duller and by switching back and forth she could make the most of the meat. She knew that it had to have been awkward to Eira and smiled nervously at Eira. "So. . . What was that you were doing before you ate?"
