Forte’s jaw dropped with a mix of disbelief and horror. “Ice?!” He hissed. “Of all the powers that you could have been graced with, it had to be ICE?” He said the word ‘graced’ sarcastically. “Could you be any more useless, chick?” Forte grumbled under his breath about worthless females. “Stay here. I’m going to get it from above, and bring it down here. Maybe you can get a crack at him.” He turned back the way they came, until he was far enough away from the griffin to climb up the wall without getting its attention.
Forte climbed quickly, his ram instincts taking over. He went about two thirds way up the wall before he started back towards the griffin. When the griffin was in sight, he started dropping lower and lower the closer he got. Soon he was directly above the griffin. He look towards were he hopped Rhia was still hidden, and flashed a smile. He jumped down behind the griffin, grabbed his tail in his mouth and yanked hard, then rammed him with his head. Forte shot off the rock shelf, landing hard on his feet, his hurt side screamed with pain. He turned around to the griffin, and bellowed “Oi!” to get his attention. He ran to where Rhia was, laughing all the way. “Here he comes!”

The griffin was too absorbed into finishing his kill that he did not hear the clamoring over the rocks. He did not think to look up, or even keep a wary eye since he was so far within the flocks nesting ground. But there was a certain, 'thud' behind him that made him stop eating. He turned his striped head to look behind him. Though as he turned he felt a power yank on his tail.
With a surprised screech he leaped to his feet and was about to swing around when he got pushed with a headbutt. He snapped open his wings and spun around to take a slash at the odd looking creature with his talon hand. Miss. The wolf was it? Ran down the escarpment, oddly like a goat.
The griffin screeched in rage, even moreso after the noise the wold made. It could have been a taunt. The griffin never took the time in his long life to learn any sort of wolf language. He abandoned his mostly eaten carcass to swoop down at the wolf that had the audacity to attack him.
His wings shuddered a little at the sudden flight, especially since he was in molt, he would not be at his prime flying. He aimed for the wolf that had attacked him. His talons stretched out hoping to rake him as he went by. The cave was a bit small for an all out attack, but the griffin could at least make a few passes and maybe get lucky.

Fortissimo grinned evilly as the Griffin descended. “Some of us actually have useful powers.” He said to Rhia, taking a deep breath. “Don’t get scared.” He warned, and turned tail and ran. He ran quickly, then out of nowhere flipped around to face the griffin. There was great distance between them now, enough room for what Forte had in mind.He let out a sort of roar, and a black dragon shot from his mouth. It was huge! It filled the small space of the crevice with ease. It shot its snake like head out, opened its jaws, and let forth a might roar that defend the ears.
Forte was by no means young, so he had lots of experience with his power. He worked hard every day to hone his skill, and he found that he was a natural at it. But the dragon mirages always left him a bit worn out. He swayed a little, but kept the mirage up. The dragon raised its head and breathed a long jet of purple flame, but it had not heat of course. Forte let the mirage go for a second roar, then the dragon vanished, as quickly as it had come.

Rhia had to stop herself from grinning. She had gotten herself out of that narrow squeeze quite easily. Shove yourself in the middle of a hot canyon, and tell the yagi beside you that, as a Lupus, your power was to control ice. Rhia knew there was very little chance she would EVER have to 'use' her 'power', which was all for the better. "Well at least it's something. Don't see YOU having any powers," she hissed slightly, her voice at a soft whisper. She ignored the rest of his comments, merely nodding as he spoke. She was quite happy to stay there as Forte egged the griffin on.
She stayed where she was, only poking her nose out to watch Forte's actions. She was hidden in the umbrage, her body cast in the safety of its shadows. The griffins screech made Rhia cringe, and she watched it swoop down on Forte. He returned to the cave just in time to miss the griffins talons, and she stared at him, wide eyed, trying to figure out what he was trying to do. Her jaws were opened, her lips pulling back over white teeth in a snarl. She was ready if she needed to pounce. Forte bolted away, and Rhia left the shadows, her muscles taut, ears pinned back against her skull. She heard Forte's voice and her attention shot to him, just in time to see a giant black dragon spring forth from his jaws.
"Bloody hell!" she growled, taking a jump backwards into the shadows, staring at the griffin to see it's reactions. It let out a fiery breath and then vanished. The dragon gave Rhia just enough time to catch her wits, and then bolt out, circling around the griffin, trying to push it in between them. Kinda like monkey in the middle, except much more dangerous. She gave him a wide berth, trying to escape the range of his sharp talons and beak, her peripheral vision focused on Forte.

The wolf spun around and faced him. At first his chest welled with triumph, he would hit his mark! Then a dragon appeared! He slammed on the air brakes so to speak and squealed in a mix of rage and horror. A wolf that could summon dragons!
The griffin veered off and slammed into the far wall shoulder first. he slumped to the ground just as the other wolf came out to corner him. His eyes flashed with unadulterated rage as he saw the dragon disappear. He squared off, trying to keep one eye on each wolf.
He screeched at the top of his lungs, trying to intimidate the smaller creatures. He slashed out at the wolves with his talons, trying to hit one of them.

Forte was unsteady on his paws, because of the energy he exerted to make the dragon appear. He was too sluggish to dodge the griffin’s swinging talons. The claws got him across the muzzle and nose. Forte’s yellow eyes filled with rage, and he snarled spraying his blood everywhere. He snapped his head out, his jaws going for the griffin’s arm, or anything. You better get outta there. Morris said with an edge to his voice.
Forte tucked his chin into his throat and surged forward, hoping to catch the griffin under his chin, or on his chest. His thick skull and horns, curtsey of his second soul adding extra bite to the attack. He had been counting on the griffin to turn tail as soon as he saw the dragon, he knew he would have, but apparently he didn’t have any luck today.

The griffin seemed to delight in their moves, until the dragon hit. It had scared Rhia too, until she realised it was only some sort of magic Forte had created. The griffin screeched, and Rhia's ears flattened back instinctively, snarling loudly. It was a wonder no other griffins came to help this one. She could feel the slash of the wind by her nose as the griffin lashed out with his talons. Ducking, she missed its sharp claws, but only by a small breadth. She heard Forte's snarl though, and looked up to see his blood spray. She winced a little, for him, and then looked up at the griffin.
Forte had snapped his jaws out, trying to, it seemed, knock the griffin in the chest. Rhia, hoping the griffin would be distracted, bunched up her muscles, her neck tucked. She sprung up like a spring, her claws out and extended as she pounced towards the griffin. She was aiming to catch him on the shoulder, or better back. Her jaws were wide, ears flat against her skull. It would be one hell of a bull ride.
She soared through the air, knowing that she'd be in quite a lovely position if she missed. It would have to be a pretty big feat if she didn't connect with it at all though. Growling, she almost jerked her head around when she started hearing whispering around her.
Silly child, silly child. Griffins are nothing but mild. Why do you endeavor so, to knock the griffin such a blow? Your attempts are only feeble, dove. It will kill you from above.
That wasn't Caedmon. She stared at Forte out of the corner of her eye. Had he heard it too? She couldn't tell from where she was, and she tried to focus her mind only on her target. '... I heard it too,' her second soul whispered, snuggling up in the back of her mind. Apparently it was safe there.

Dazed, the kestrel lashed out blindly while still trying to steady himself. He was getting too old for this.
In his stupor, the other wolf pounced on him. He hissed and tried to shake her off. His molting wings flailed and beat against the wall of the cave, knocking down a few rocks in the process in the attempt to thorw her off.
He gave a weak screech, still trying to regain his breath. However this time, it was answered. A resounding scree echoed through the cavern. The entrance at the top of the cave held the silhouette of two, small and cowering yearling griffins. And one great, black griffin resembling a harpy eagle. Evidently old kestrel's fight caught the attention of the youngsters, but they had fled when the dragon image appeared. They summoned the harpy.
Great black wings snapped open as the current leader of the flock descended upon the wolves to aid his old father. His bright yellow beak clicked in a threatening manner, imitating what he would do to the wolves once he caught them. His great white crest was on full display and he landed in the middle of the floor, behind the lowly wolves.
His yellow talons scratched at the rock, sending small sparks up as he bellowed and hissed, preparing for an attack.

Fortissimo cursed as he saw, to his horror, that more griffins approached. He nearly had a heart attack as he saw the great black brute that ascended. Mort let out a pitiful bleat, and probably fainted. Forte knew when enough was enough, and right now they were waaaaaaay past enough. Forte risked the flailing talons of the old geezer, and grabbed hold of the little female around the back of her neck, and with all his force threw her back towards the exit. He knew they were to far in to get out in time before the flock swooped down on him. Fortunately, he knew this place and he also knew that not far from here, in the circular clearing there was a small opening in the side of the rock, that could house two wolves, but no griffins.
He shouted at Rhia to run closely behind him. He conjured two illusions in the shape of himself and Rhia to run with them. His energy drained almost instantly, but he was able to keep running. He did stop as the cavern wall swung away, and he entered the circular clearing. He veered to the right and headed for the little cave. He stopped at the opening his chest heaving, and waited for Rhia to dive in before him.
The illusions where on the opposite side of the fermented water, running around each other and chasing their tails. Forte struggled to keep his eyes open. He made the illusions continue on running, running toward where he wanted to be, toward the exit.
"Hurry up!" He called to Rhia. Slumping with exhaustion.

She growled in delight, ignoring the strange voices, which seemed to have dulled to a low whisper in the back of her mind. She worked her grip on his back, her claws aiming to dig into his flesh and provide a more stable hold. He flailed about and Rhia had not idea how Forte was doing. There was little the griffin could do to hurt her now - she was out of range of his beak and talons. But she was not free from being rammed against the rock wall.
Rhia felt her body hit the rocks sharply, her body swaying upon the impact. She knew her side would be bruised. Grunting from the pain, she winced, hearing the griffin screech yet again. But this time, something... or one called back. Rhia's ears perked up and her head jerked towards the source of the noise. There wasn't only one, but three more griffins, one of them clearly strong and in top shape. Rhiannon snarled, seeing him unfurl his wings and begin his descent towards them.
This was definitely not good. Rhiannon was trying to calm her speeding heart. It was while she was staring at the griffins that she felt a pressure around her neck. For a moment she thought it was the griffin, and she flailed, but quickly realised it was Forte. The lithe female hung limp as he pulled her, giving up her grip on the griffin and allowing Forte to toss her towards the exit. She instinctively tucked her body, doing a couple somersaults as she hit the ground before leaping to her feet. She hardly had time to regain her balance when Forte ran up beside her, telling him to stick near him. Rhia was more than happy to comply and she lurched into a run, trailing close behind Forte.
Suddenly images of the two of them appeared beside them, and Rhia realised he was using his powers again. She winced - he'd be tired, right? The finally reached a cave and Forte stood aside and Rhia lunged into it. She pushed her body as far as she could to the back wall, then reaching out with her jaws, aimed to grasp Forte's chest lightly in her jaws and pull him in. She didn't know how tired he's be after exerting himself. She hardly heard his words, her mind littered with strange rhyming words.
'This is distressing Rhi,' Caedmon purred in her mind, having stayed silent the whole time while she was fleeing. He seemed to stir inside her, staring out of her eyes at the griffins. 'Try to forget it for now I suppose. There's no use worrying about something so trivial when the griffins are attacking,'. Rhia shoved a rather forceful "I KNOW" back at him, snarling and curling her body around Forte, ignoring her hurt side.
"Are you okay? Where're you hurt?"

Fortissimo felt himself being dragged forward, and thought for a second that it was a griffin, but he realized that it was just the jaws of Rhia pulling him to safety. He mumbled his thanks, opening his yellow eyes to look outside. He made the doppelgangers yell up at the griffins, and cackling like mad things. Then they exploded, their fake blood and bits of themselves painted the cavern's walls. The blood stayed there a second, before it appeared to be soaking into the thirsty walls. 'You have a twisted sense of humor.' Morris bleated, subdued.
Forte cracked a morbid smile, and his yellow gaze turned to Rhia. His mind was working sluggishly, so it took him a second to realize what she had asked. His creepy smile relaxed into a tired grin. His pink tongue shot out between his jaws and licked the blood from his muzzle where the griffin had cut him. The bleeding had slowed, but licking the dried blood from the wound had cleaned away the clots making it bleed freely again.
"Im fine." He purred, amused that she was worried. He licked her between the eyes, leaving a streak of blood that was still on his tongue. But his hurt side that he got from taking that tumble was pushed against the rocky ground. He shifted slightly, pushing himself closer to Rhia.
"What about you little chick? That was some stunt you pulled. Riding the griffin." He rolled his eyes, but there was amusement in his voice, or was it fondness?

She watched with wide eyes as the mirages of them cackled maniacally and then exploded into bits of wolf. She snorted a bit after that happened, rolling her eyes at Forte. Silly.
She stared right back at him with her bright hazel eyes. She was hardly hurt compared to him, and she watched him lick his wound, and she frowned as it began to bleed again. Lowering her nose, she was about to touch it when she felt his warm, wet tongue lick right in between her eyes. Had she been furless, he would have seen her entire face and body blush a bright red. She couldn't see the blood now on her fur, but she could feel the stickyness of it. Rhia let him lean on her, burying her muzzle into the fur around his neck. "I'm fine, don't worry. Just a little bruised," she couldn't help but beam with pride after he complimented her. She had ridden the griffin. King - well in her mind at least - of the beasts, it was quite a feat.
"So Moe, when're we going to leave? You caught your breath yet? We should go splash some water on those wounds of yours," she murmured, peering out to see if the griffins were still in pursuit.

"I hope you dont mean the water out there!" His eyes widening in horror. "I wont die of these wounds, but if we go splashing that poisoned water there on them, I'll die of infection, silly little chick." His voice got more garbled the more he spoke, and his eyelids started to droop. "Listen," he sighed, putting his head on his paws, "you can go if you wish, I need to sleep. I haven't used my power in awhile, and those were major mirages."
'Perhaps she is right. We need to get moving, lest the griffins find out we tricked them.' Morris yawned, he was tired too. 'What makes you think they aren't out there circling above our heads as we speak.' Forte shot at him. That shut Morris up really quick.
And in seconds he was alseep.
ooc: you can either reply or not. I guess its the end of the thread. Imma go make a new one, so Forte can meet Kai.
