Balkamir Yikaxy Empire Hi guys! So as we know, the Empire is slowly dying from the inside out. I have created this thread in the hopes to get some creative juices flowing to try and revive it one last time. I personally do not want to see this pack vanish into the snow. I am working on changing the terrain/weather patterns, so please bare with me for that information. I have started off with yet a new ranking system, please let me know what you all think. So far the idea is for Cedrus to take over the Empire. (Arkham & Cypress' son) It is with this new reign that the new ranks and terrain will take place. Please have a read through, any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. More ranks to be arranged as more ideas come to mind. Thank you! RANKS Emperor & Empress-
About: Not unlike an alpha pair, the Emperor and Empress are the supreme rulers of the Empire. Their words are law, and anyone that dares to defy them will be rightly punished. Traditionally, it is the duty of the Emperor to oversee his Empire. It is he who holds supreme authority. The duty of the Empress is to produce heirs so that the royal line remains secure. However, in the event that a female is heir to the Empire, then she will harness the highest authority, even over her own mate.
Current Emperor:
TBA
Current Empress:
TBA
Dominus & Domina- (Lord & Lady)
About: The second highest exclusive rank. The Emperor and Empress may assign a Lord and Lady to preside as temporary leader to stand in for them if they are away. They are usually close to the Empire leaders, the most trusted, and bearers of good advice in bad times. It is not unusual for the Lord & Lady to be mates. If the Emperor and Empress never bear a prodigy and do not have siblings to take their place, the Lord and Lady will become the next rulers of the Giaku Empire. Traditionally, the Lord holds higher authority than the female.
Current Lord & Lady:
Dominus: TBA Domina: TBA
Dux- (General)
About: A very difficult position to accomplish. However it is possible, and only the strongest, smartest, and most experienced warriors are considered for this auspicious position. They must be willing to obey orders given by the Emperor without hesitation. They oversee all the soldiers, train them, and command them in battle. The Emperor harbors four generals in his stead. Current General(s):
TBA TBA TBA TBA
Prince & Princess-
About: Born from the Emperor and Empress. The duty of the princes and princesses is to learn all aspects of the Empire. The firstborn male is the heir to the Empire if the Emperor has passed on, or is no longer fit to rule. If there is no firstborn male available, then the title will be handed down to the firstborn available female.
Current Prince(s) & Princess(s):
(1) Aspen (2) Willow (3) Juniper
Solidus- (Soldier)
About: The soldiers are a vast legion that are regarded with respect for their services to the empire. They are protectors, guardians, fighters, warriors, and a police force, and obey the wishes and demands of the empire without some matter of uncertainty crossing their minds. What you do in life will be carried on to eternity.
Venator- (Hunter)
About: They rally hunts together and keep food coming daily if they must to keep the nation well fed and growing. The hunters are chosen for their ability to work as a team, and incredible endurance and stamina mentally and physically.
Auscultre- (Scout)
About: The most cunning, lithe, and fast are bestowed the rank as Scout. Their duty is to scout the canyons to keep an eagle eye on the horizon, to see if their enemy is moving in. Otherwise, they greet newcomers, usually with suspicion.
Sicarius- (Assassin)
About: Though not well known among the citizens of the Empire, this austere and intimidating elite set of agents answer to the Emperor alone. He chooses them for their tremendous skill that sets them apart from everyone else. Where their strength, wit, and cunning are considerable, their ability to linger in the shadows are even greater.
Novus- (New)
About: Those new individuals that join the Empire for the first time are called Novus. They are held under high scrutiny and are watched most harshly, for the Novus come from the outside and cannot be trusted until they prove themselves worthy to be among the respected ranks of the Empire.

I think that is a great idea, Who. My character, Sky, should be a scout, I think, as there are no longer teacher ranks, which is what she is right now. Anywho, yes, it sounds like a good way to revive the Empire.

Sounds good, though I would suggest some sort of "Royal Guard" or "Septas" or "Teachers/Healers" to watch over the kids until they are old enough. Especially since not all the wolves will be combat ready or out hunting or scouting.

I like this idea as well, it seems a lot less complicated than the last. No offense on that part, but there were just quite a few things to remember. I've been thinking of some things for the Empire as well, as far as territory changes go.
I still believe, since this is a more hardy pack, that they should stay in some type of snowy lands. It seems to me, though, that the tundra pushes people away because it's not necessarily welcoming. I have two ideas for this, but I don't know if people will like them.
1. The Empire remains in the Tundra, but we add a few welcoming features. Who and I discussed in the Cbox the possibility of an underground cavern that will block all wind and such, but the pack all sleeps in the same area. Since this is WW's oldest pack, it seems to fit better when it comes to being more traditional. Real wolf packs tend to sleep in heaping piles with one another to keep warm, so I thought that sort of thing would bring some type of family appeal to others. There could also be a spring in the cavern, providing fresh water that isn't cold. Also, the pack wouldn't have to go through a blizzard to get the water. xD
2. The Empire could move to the Shinkou Mountain Range, where certain changes can be made to the terrain (like adding a forest to provide more food and such), but here my idea for a cavern for the pack to sleep in would work as well. The hot spring and the caverns just seem a little more hospitable to me than the Tundra can be. Perhaps a fresh water feature can be added inside the caverns as well, since the only real source of water is the hot springs. The advantages of this place is that it would provide more cover for the pack and such, especially when fighting off intruders or something. It might be a tad isolated from the world, but it would provide some better degree of protection for the pack and make it harder for enemies to access certain things.
Well, for now that's all I've got in my head as far as ideas go. I also agree with Cy when it comes to the Doctor/Healer part about ranks, considering Lacey is a healer. Of course, Who, if you had another place for her that would be fine as well. Let me know what you think, everyone.

Whoopsies.
We can adds more ranks, def needs healer section just did that info real quick ^-^ Actually think I'm toss the assassin rank because lets face it... When do we really need assassins? Haha.
For the terrain, I wanted to keep them in the snow of course. But as I explained to Moon the other day, I would like to make some subtle differences. In real life, we have the Antarctic, and the Arctic. Whilst the Antarctic stays snow ridden all year round, the Arctic changes with the seasons. In winter, of course, it is snowy and all round pretty chilly. But in the warmer seasons, things change. The snow melts away. Below I have modified the seasons.
Winter: Intolerably cold, frequent snow. Spring: Snow begins to thaw, bitter wind, infrequent snow. Summer: Snow melts away, warmer winds, lots of sun. Fall: Begins to chill, bitter wind, infrequent snow.
I also love the idea of moving to the Mountains. Working on some new areas as well. Tell me more Moonie of these underground wonders!

First of all,
Who your response is totally inappropriate and as usual inflammatory to other members, which in this case they did not deserve. You asked your fellow members, and pack mates to help give you advice and comments on what you were doing. Therefore they TOLD you what they thought you could include and do. If you cannot respond appropriately because of lack of sleep, then it should be suggested you should wait until you have had sleep, food, or whatever it is that has made you so upset. This is unacceptable behavior from a staff member.
Moving on, the idea of ranks seems like a good idea to me, but some of the members of this pack are certainly not helping when it comes to making the pack thrive. It seems to me that it is almost impossible for any member of this site to run more than one pack effectively. I have seen it in plenty of cases, Nali closed the Kingdom because her constant duties of having to run the site and babysit it’s members made it impossible. Sun could not handle the load of a pack and other responsibilities. Even Art is having a problem running the Cadre and keeping it active. So why is it so unusual to see that you and Cy are running the Empire and the Children and one is failing? It’s not a fault of the leaders in this case, I think it’s a case of overloading yourselves. Maybe it’s time to really choose which pack you can afford to run, and let someone else take a crack at the Empire.
Also the constant (and I watch the cbox enough to see it) bemoaning the fact that the Empire is dying/being disbanded/giving up on it/can’t be saved in the cbox is hardly attracting new members. When new members are watching the cbox and hear about a dying pack, you think for one moment they want to put a character they worked hard and long on into something that is possibly dying? Nope. I’m going to be honest in the fact that the unavailability of players, the unreliability of some members, is making me want to have my own character leave. I tell you this not to put you down but to make you realize the things you do OOC, AND the things you don’t do IC have a serious impact on the Empire.
I have seen talk about changes go on for over a month now, ideas get thrown around half way done, and then never implemented. Unfortunately sometimes you can’t wait around for member approval or ideas. Think the ideas through as best you can, implement and then actually get in there IC and make it work. That’s one of the faults I see in the Empire. Who, as I have said you’re guilty of lack of activity, either due to real life or lack of muse, or whatever. Same thing for Cy, she has a life, a job, staff duties, and another pack. Decisions need to be made about how much you really want this pack to survive, because if you really want it, you’ll take the advice you’ve been given, implement the change and move on before Christmas comes and we lose even more activity then we are losing now.

How many areas can we have in the Pack Territory? I see a common 4-5, but unsure of what the limit is. And also how many words we can use to fill up the description parts.
