Eyes open. Ears perked. Head held high. Undefeatable.
Lorak stood in silence, studying the jungle ahead of him. He had been in this territory for little over an hour and still he had not come across a single wolf. His tail swayed from side to side, strong enough to strangle a full grown wolf. Though it had not yet had the opportunity to do that yet. He didn’t know whether he liked that idea much, his tail often came in handy. It was dexterous, it could pic things up and point at other things. Not to mention its ability to point and hit. He resisted the urge to chuckle at the thought of hitting someone across the maw with his tail. His face showed no emotion except that of him regarding himself higher than any other. He was more important.
He took a step forward, regally. His head still held high, his face still blank yet un-amused. His wings were held open ever so slightly as if they were flags announcing is arrival. He stopped, looking around once more and narrowing his eyes before walking deeper into the territory. Irritated that he could not find another wolf. But he would not let the emotion get to him. It did not exist, it was not important.
Finally he lifted his maw to the air, letting out a long howl. Tinted with the wondrous singing ability of his Cael ancestry, if a wolf did not approach soon he was going to blow. How could they ignore him??? Of all wolves. He was Lorak. An amazement, a strong being, important. How could they not see that, how could they not want to look at his pure awesomeness?

Scorch had just made it back to his territory after the long hike up North and the confrontation with the Empire's horned Alpha. The scar on his left shoulder had not become infected much to his content; he had used fire to seal the wound close, leaving a neat and tidy looking “Y” shaped incision in its place. The brute was tired and scraggly as his trip across the various territories and wanted nothing more than to take a bath, eat and sleep for the next three days. However, as fate would have it, an alpha’s job was never done and it was not long after he came home that he heard the unfamiliar call of a wolf.
Growling low in frustration he took off at a half hearted pace through the jungle as he followed the call. It had better be an affair he could deal with quickly or he would not be a happy camper. Woe is the wolf that defied him today, his temper was short and his desire to use logical thinking was muted making him a volatile Don at the current time. Stepping forth from under the shadows he had been traveling through using his power he marched up to the new comer, a dark look upon his face. The male that faced him was a winged species, the first Scorch had seen in his region, and had unusual almost bat-like wings. The long tail that was connected to the wolf’s spine seemed almost serpentine in nature and the whole picture could certainly be used to intimidate from the skies under the right circumstances.
However, the other wolf’s confident posture aggravated the Don, more then normal as he was tired from his travels. Stepping forth with his head held in a domineering manner he lifted his tail straight up, staring at the new comer with cold eyes. He was a fair Don, he would give the wolf a chance to prove himself and then he would test his respect. “You rang?” He sneered lightly, making light of the call. “Well congrats, you got the Don’s attention, don’t waste it trespasser.” He warned, letting the wolf know in not so many words that he had best tread carefully. Scorch wanted to accept new members, make no mistake he could already see the worth of the male, but he wanted to be sure of his opinion with proof first.

A bemused grin crossed Lorak’s face as a disgruntled wolf entered. It was as if he were a servant coming to a master’s call. He had come because he had not because he wanted, but of course this was just Lorak’s mind playing with what played out in front of him. It amused him that he had received what he had wanted, all that it seemed that he had to do was ask. He removed the expression from his face once the wolf began to address him. Even his words were that of a servant. Why yes Lorak did ring and this wolf came running.
He stretched out his wings, a display of sorts. But as soon as his wings were fully stretched he bowed his body. His head dipping low but his eyes still studying the Don carefully, his face emotionless yet still regal. He stood up in a swift motion, his wings snapping shut with an elastic-y sound. His tail whipped across the vegetation behind him. Accidently braking off some branches and leaves. The branches hit the ground behind him with a crackled while the leaves rustled lazily to the ground. He kept his own head high, yes he was joining a pack but he was below no wolf. He would take orders that suited him and ignore the others. Joining a pack was purely for his own benefit.
He had still not said anything and apart from his regal attitude he had shown no emotion, he thought of himself as one of the trees around him. Unmoveable, he probably would not be able to defeat this wolf in front of him in combat but he could do other things.
“I am glad I gained it” a bemused grin crossed his face, “I came here to find out a bit more about the Mafia, perhaps you have an information area? Or a few slave-wolves to inform me. I could take them home and let the family know. Thinking about relocating ya know” As he spoke he walked around the area studying plants and trees as if the forest were a house on sale. A new place to live.

OOC: Mind if I join? I'll delete this post if you want.
Lawson was well-camouflaged in his jungle habitat, the deep, rich earthy brown of his thick pelt melting in with his surroundings. His large paws thudded on the ground, and he lazily rolled his bright orange eyes around, along with is two huge, pointed black horns. His tail was stubbed, born like that, something that had made the vain Yagi an even more vain wolf, if possible. He was having a rather nice day, particularly after meeting two like minded wolves as himself, new friends, members and allies.
A call sounded through the jungle, not far away, and he lifted his great head, ears high at attention: He furrowed his brow, and shook his head. Now who in hell is that, some foolish youngster come to play on the Mafia's land? he thought casually, one brow expertly raised. Better go teach them a lesson, his voice hissed in his ear, and a grin twisted his face. He hastened his pace a little, and soon arrived to two wolves, one he recognized as Scorch, the Don and an ally of his. He looked a little worse for wear, but he was a tough wolf, this Lawson knew, and he'd be okay. However, he didn't like the way the unknown wolf was sauntering around, and his fur bristled momentarily.
He walked up, a huge figure emerging from the gloom of the jungle, his horns giving him the appearance of a Demon straight from hell. Lawson smiled inside: He was proud of his height and sheer bulk, but it was matters of the mind that interested him most, though a fight once and a while was always fun. "Greetings, Scorch. It's good to see you again." He nodded politely, his face neutral before he turned to the newcomer: Orange eyes lazily scanned him, and even if he did see power, arrogance also. How interesting... he thought to himself, and stood beside and a little to the back to Scorch.
He guessed this wolf was not an enemy, or the Don would have disposed of him by now, so he could only assume he was a potential member. He stood next to Scorch merely as a show of stature. And to be honest, he hoped that if the wolf didn't join, the Lupus would let Lawson hunt him down. This would amuse him greatly, for a couple hours at most. A smile eerily lit his features, and he let his eyes roll crazily around a few times, remaining focused on the new wolf. He wasn't trying to scare him off, merely putting on a bit of a show.

ooc: I don't mind, Lawson is one of the Chosen Four, lol.
It was on the tip of his tired tongue to tell the fellow to sod off and get the hell out before he used him as his latest punching bag. However, Scorch resisted the tempting urge trying very hard to remain objective and calm. Slave indeed, Scorch snorted at that because at this rate the regal mannered wolf would be lucky not to be in said position. Gruffly and without fanciful reserve he replied, "Slave's are for the Mafia's gain, a trespasser is not even worthy of a Hellion Mafia servant." His eyes remained unimpressed my the display on the male's behalf, the only thing that impressed the Don was respect and proof of strength, not fanciful demonstrations.
Twitching his tail in restless agitation he deemed it prudent to deal with this male in a casual manner, no matter how aggravating his posture was...and a real bur in his side it was becoming. Laughing coldly he said, "I wouldn't count on going back to your family anytime soon... You want to know what the mafia is like? Well then here are your options, you can prove your worth to me and join, or you can become the slaves you so mocked and find out the hard way, the choice is yours." Scorch was done with proving the Mafia's worth, if wolves wanted to join they would have to prove themselves worthy of the mafia, not the other way around. This test would serve to test the wolf's respect and if he chose right would validate him and he would be provided with the reward of joining his ranks.
Now that he was amusing himself a devilish grin spread across his maw, the two alternatives were excellent ways to deal with wolves that lacked the common sense to address him or his other officials accordingly. It was to his outstanding pleasure that Lawson should choose to make his large appearance after his words. Nodding in greeting he answered cheerily, "And the same to you Lawson, I hope your new power has been finding you well. Do join in, this would be your first joining experience on the other side, the side of the mafia. Yes, it is a delight to see you again friend."
His maw turned up in a mocking smile as he regarded the winged wolf, fanciful movements would not save him now, only intelligence and action would prove his worth. "I believe the place to start would be your name, humm?" He gave Lawson a wink for now that he was amusing himself he could enjoy the experience, which in truth he usually did. As Don he considered it important to know who was roaming his territory and being aware of the strengths of each member was a cunning way to organize ranks in case that he should need them.

“Ah” His expression dropped as Scorch mentioned the lack of slave use for him. He enjoyed slaves, in fact he loved them. He hated having to do anything for himself except what he enjoyed. But none-the-less he could live without it. His grin returned, and his posture once again returned to the one he was so used to. Regal and limitless. “Was more thinking of advertisement ya know, maybe the few who stray into your territory wouldn’t do so so often if there was appropriate warning. Tie them to the trees of something” He could not help but chuckle at the thought.
“Well that’s good, got no family anyways. Useless bunch they are, holding ya back and all that” He said thoughtfully, his expression turning dull and emotionless once more. In truth he wished he had family or someone he was close to. But of course that was against the rules. No wolf was trustworthy.
“But ya know what?” He said winking, “Today is your lucky day. I have come to join. Free of charge, no expense and no catchy fine print! All you can-get services of The Dragon Wolf. Simple and easy. Unfortunately I cannot breath fire but I am quite gifted with other things. All things within the regulations of course” He was about to carry on when he decided to stop and study the newcomer. He had not payed much attention to him up until now. A rather butch individual but nothing he couldn’t deal with.
“Ah my dear fellow” He repeated his bow, exaggerating it much more. “I was just telling our dear leader here that my purpose for walking across this land was more to join him rather than that of anything menacing. But in all honesty i come back to the lack of warning.” He whipped his head back to the Don. His tail ripping the plants behind him, whether it was on purpose of not this time one would never know but it did add to his dramatic speech. “The idea of tying slaves to trees in some manner is a good example. Turning them into plants. Nothing too hard for such a great pack”
“Ah Yes and you may call me Lorak, Or dragon, Or Awesomeness. Totally up to you.” He grinned at the Alpha waiting for a response.

ooc: I am going to reply out of turn as this is a joining thread and rather important so Kas, you can add Lawson when you get the chance.
Scorch contemplated the wolf before him, the edge of hostility leaking away from his sea blue eyes. This was indeed a peculiar chap, but that was not an oddity for the mafia, in fact anything unusual was all too common in the jungle. True enough the wolf did look like a dragon and if he did not stop lashing his tail about there would be a bald spot amidst the jungle surface. It would make an interesting figure in his collection of miscreants and his decision to join certainly passed the Don's test. Fair enough and true to his word he would accept the wolf, though he would give him the rank of Underling, Scorch would need to watch the wolf to determine where the Don could utilize Lorak's strengths.
"Very well then chap, sign on the doted line and gain more power then any other pitiful pack could hope to offer you, the only cost is your submission to the mafia's will. But never fear, the mafia always looks out for its members." The Don chuckled good naturally, Lorak was a comic character, and the mafia could always use a soul or two to lighten the place up. However he would have to watch that mouth of his, high ranking wolves were not all that good natured as a principle and would be quick to anger at any sign of a lack of respect. Oh well, Scorch decided, Lorak would eventually have to learn the hard way if he did not choose his words with a bit more care.
"You may occupy the rank of Underling, prove your worth and you will be sure to be rewarded with a higher rank in due time. Until then welcome to the family, what happens here stays here, including the members." He inclined his head as if to tease the wolf, now that he was in, there was no way out. "You'll find a delightful arrangement of wolves here, do watch yourself and be aware that any trespassers in the borders of our lands should be brought to a high ranking wolf for inspection." He flicked his tail as he spoke, the Don certainly hoped to collect a trespasser or two to start his collection of prime slave stock.
In a smoothly venomous voice he noted, "Warning? Why ever would we want to give warning? We would simply never have visitors to entertain us if we did that." Laughing with cold glee he regarded the dragon wolf with a gleam of a dangerous nature in his eyes. "And when visitors check into the jungle, they never check out." The last was said in a half concealed snarl as the Don scraped his claws across the ground, leaving burnt claw marks in his wake.

Lorak bowed his head to the Alpha, he respected the wolf somewhat. Not many would have dealt with him the way the wolf in front of him just had. Of course his rank did irritate him a bit and so it was best he got onto that issue right away. He wanted one of the higher ranks and obviously he would not rest until he got it. He was the amazing dragon wolf. If only he could blow fire... then his life would be complete.
“ah thank you my dear leader” He bowed his head, his mind filled with thoughts of raising in rank. Taking over this pack would be fun but it would cause him more harm than help. No he would rather just become someone that this wolf in front of him trusted. An extremely high rank, highest he could get without having to take on too much work.
“I just think that it would be fun to hear their screams. Though we could tie them to trees closer to home of course” He winked with the thought, “Now if I may ask what may i do to rise in my rank. I feel that someone such as myself is not fit for a rank so... low” He said the word almost with disgust. But it was plain in his expression that he was willing to work. Flattery of course would be one of the ways he would do it. “Would it be to fan you from this heat” He flapped his wings gently sending a breeze towards the don, “Or maybe something a little more vicious? I am rather talented at attacking from the sky plus my tail is good at keep... things contained.” He plucked a flower with his tail and offered it to the don as an example. “Name the action Leader”

Raising a brow Scorch contemplated the winged wolf's words, so he wanted a test? Well only time would tell such matters to the Don as Underling was more then befitting given the nature of the circumstances. However, he admired a certain drive in wolves and could not turn away a fellow member in search of power. In fact, he had just the job for this new comer, one that would keep the wolf occupied and would save the Don much travel afoot.
Brightening up visibly he spoke in a grand tone that implied he really was giving the new comer a favor, "Though I was reserving this job for someone of a higher rank I suppose I could award you the honor of undertaking it as a token of welcoming." His eyes regarded the wolf with a dark glow of cunning, "If you would be so inclined I am in need of a wolf to travel abroad, shall we say, and gather pertinent information about other residing packs in this land." Scorch knew that Lorak would be able to accomplish this much faster then any of his residing pack members, and not only would it keep the power hungry bloke out of Scorch's fur but it would also provide an opportunity to test the wolf's loyalty and intelligence.
As Lorak was new to that pack Scorch could be sure that if he was caught and interrogated he would have little to contribute about the Mafia, ensuring the security of the Don's pack and future family. "I seek to gain knowledge of their size, their strength, any weaknesses you may observe and also their general intentions toward other packs. If anyone is to ever attack the Mafia I want to know where to strike that will cause them the most damage and I also want to know which wolves of their ranks to destroy first." He spoke with severity, this mission was not a game and was one the Don had been considering under taking himself. It was key to defending his pack, knowledge was power in its own right. "Do not bother the pack lands of the Empire, they are our allies, and shaky ones at best. However, I expect reports on the rest of them. Do not under any circumstances let it be known that you are part of the mafia, linking your presence to this pack will not be tolerated."
He smiled, and this time it was an honest one, "Complete this request I will promote you to a middle rank, on this you may have my word. However, should you fail you will be demoted, failure in this pack is unacceptable as you may well understand. Then you will have true reason to act disgusted. Of course I place my trust in you, as Don I am confident you shall succeed, though let it be noted this mission is one of stealth." He gave Lorak a polite nod of his head and stood to await the wolf's response. If he wad truly dedicated to rising in ranks he would jump at such an opportunity; not many had been this lucky. Scorch was not fond of being separated from his Donna at this time, she would need his protection as would the growing pack. If there was one thing that Lorak was wrong about it was the importance of family; but the wolf would soon learn it of his own accord none the less.

Lorak bowed his head, his mind contemplating the offer. It was a generous one but it was also a very serious one. An offer that would take a lot of work, a strategy would be needed but that could easily be worked out. Of course he would not ask advice on this seen as he was the one taking on the job and so he would work by his ways and no one else’s.
“Sounds rather entertaining. I shall do one pack at a time and come back to you with the information.” His face went blank and serious as he contemplated the packs. He would leave now so that he could get rid of this job as soon as possible. He stretched out his wings and shook his head. Looking up and deciding it was okay to take off from her.
“Well my dear leader I believe I should leave now if Iam to get this job complete as soon as possible. I bid you farewell until we meet again” He bowed once more, over-exaggerating his movements by habit. He bent slightly and then leapt into the air. His wings slightly bent to avoid hitting the surrounding foliage. He jumped from branch to branch untilo he was given the opportunity to take off and clear the roof of the jungle. He gave a final grin to the wolf below and disappeared.
He would head to the furthest pack first and work his way closer and closer back the Mafia. A long journey but worth it. He angled himself and startedheading towards the Parran Taga, a worthy starting point.
