rylee . mckay "I won't give up on you." The early fall morning brought a beautiful start to the day. Rylee lie under a large tree, already up-n-adam from watching the sun rise. She frowned when the last of the stars disappeared. Sighing longingly, she slowly rose to her feet. "G'night stars." She murmured softly and dipped her head towards the sky. She turned her body, bobbed tail flicking as she began walking.
After a short while, she felt her stomach groan with the need for food. She paused and glanced around her. "Le's see... Is there anythin' I can actually catch here..." She drew in the scents around her, opening her maw to make it more pungent. She felt a spark of annoyance when she scented nothing she could hunt herself. "Curse ma' inability t' hunt." She shook her head hopelessly. Though, her ears pricked forward when she heard the faint sounds of water. She shrugged. "Perhaps I could try catchin' a fish 'er two..." Amber eyes sparkling, she jogged in it's direction.
It wasn't long before the spring came into view. She smiled to herself and stepped up to the edge. Gazing down, her small tail twitched with pleasure as she saw the glimmering scales of the fish. "Perfect!" Her tongue swept over her lips before she lowered herself, eyes burning with determination. She had never actually tried fishing, but was confident she should at least try.
Her eyes darted across the fish until she landed on one that seemed to be moving rather slowly. It swished it fins lazily, moving through the water like a slug. She bit her tongue and bunched her muscles, preparing herself to strike. "A'ight, prepare you'self fish! One... Two... Three!" She lunged forward. Everything seemed to be executed perfectly as her mouth flew into the water. She suddenly felt proud of herself.
Until the fish moved.
Out of no where, it moved like lightning as it flew away. Rylee gasped as her teeth swallowed in water. Coughing, she istantly jerked her head up and out of the water. "Wha..!" She began flailing in the water in a flurry of movement, snorting water from her nostrils.
By the time she recomposed herself, she found herself sitting in the water up to her stomach, dumb struck as her fur stuck to her body. She growled and leaped out of the water. "Dag' 'nabbit!" She spat and shook herself, pawing at her ears to free them from the water. "Stupid fish! Makin' me make a fool a m'self!" She huffed with irritation.
She stood there while the water dripped off her fur, ears flicking with irritation. Her stomach moaned and she cursed herself for not being able to hunt again. Sighing, she sat down and stared angrily towards a dandelion.

Black orbs shone with keen interest as it watched the wolf, beak clicking with approval. It's plumage of golden and brown ruffled slightly as the adrenaline pumped through his massive form. The bulky Yagi would be a perfect, meaty morsel to help tide the beast over till something more fulling came along. When eating around those horns and spikes, there was never really anything left, lest one wounded themselves by being too greedy.
The giant creature circled the scene, evaluating the right time to catch his dinner off guard. And because of those numerous natural weaponry that donned the Yagi, it also made for a difficult time to take one down as apposed to a Lyxxus. None the less, dinner was dinner and nothing was going to stop this magnificent beast, from getting what he wanted.
After all the commotion, the Griffons keen senses picked up on the females frustration, some of her energy had been used to catch something to satiate her own hunger. He didn't need to be told twice. Like lightning, the predator folded his wings to fall, fast, toward his target. The only thing that would give the Yagi a brief sense of danger looming was the rumbling battle cry that screeched from the dangerously jagged beak. Loners were easy targets. As far as the Griffon knew, wolves were quite smart. It was a wonder they decided to live alone, unprotected. The bird of prey didn't let the thought worry him as he drew closer to his prize though, their stupidity made his life easier after all.

rylee . mckay "I won't give up on you." Her eyes flared as she glared at the weed. She shook her head and glanced back at the water. "I wond'a if I sh'uld try a'gin..." She pondered for a moment. She shrugged and stepped back at the waters edge, wanting a drink. "Eeh, m'a fur jus' got dry. I'll find som'thin' else t'a eat." She lapped at the water, stomach quieting with the temporary fill of water.
She stood there for a few seconds just staring into the water. The scar on her chest instantly caught her attention. Ears twitching, she bit her lip when she felt sadness wash over her. A perminant reminder of her past. Though, she scoffed and quickly regained her confident domeanor. "Awh c'mon.. Grow up a bit! Tha's in the past..." She sighed and closed her eyes.
Suddenly, her ears rung with an ear pitching screech. At first it made her wince from the harsh sound; but she instantly became aware of the danger. Eyes bolting open and whipping around, her head snapped upwards to see the gryphon coming right towards her. "Ah!"
Her head reeled as she thought of a quick reaction. Knowing she had no more time to wait, she willed her muscles to move and she leaped sideways, making the gryphon's powerful beak miss by mere inches. The sudden movement in the air knocked her backwards onto her back. "Grah..!" She gasped when the ground stole her breaths. She clenched her teeth, flailing on the ground to try and get back up. "Da'mit! Work legs!" She barked to herself, trying to regain her footing. She finally felt her paws regain balance and jumped back up, turning her body around quickly to see where the gryphon was. Fear ran through her; she knew gryphons were quick, but she hoped she hadn't wasted too much time trying to get her footing.

The Gryphon could not contain his excited screeches, for he knew this was an easy meal. It would take patience, and a great deal of caution to win this battle though, lest he hurt himself on the Yagi's impressive natural defenses.
His unsheathed claws and dagger-like talons hit the mossy rock with a formidable clang, his decent upon the wolf had failed, she had cheated instant death by a mere whisker on her maw. However, she had faulted in finding her footing, and the beast was quick to correct his mistake.
Hungry eyes whirled to face the frightened morsel, one well muscled lion limb reaching out to snag her. He did not intened to kill her so quickly, no, for maiming and torturing his prey was always much more fun. He had high hopes that he would strike the Yagi, her pitiful cry already sounding withing his crazed, hungry mind.

The sight was indeed beautiful, but it was one of the territories he hadn't explored extensively. There were a few reasons for that; firstly, with no pack living in the area, it seemed a wasted effort on his part. Sure, loners were important too, but how many loners would be mingling about the moutains? Secondly, the harsh conditions were unfavorable to the hybrid, who enjoyed much warmer and wetter climates. Even now, the coldness of the earth below his paws sent a slight shiver through his body. His vigour pressed him onwards though. The north was always moving and whispered secrets on the breeze brought word of the mountains. Why were the mountains important? His curiosity peaked, and he left the taiga in search of answers.
The journey itself wasn't long, but the bitter coldness that arrived closer and closer to the ominous range made it feel much longer. The midnight beast wrinkled his nose in distaste as he moved along. It was only morning, but he was well on his way up the mountains. He had risen early, but chose to move only during the day, when it was warmer. The wind whipped around him, and he only stopped a few times, mainly to let his body adjust to the lowering oxygen levels. Thankfully, the weather was quite calm and favourable, and so he made good timing.
Duchan would have continued on, had there not been a great disturbance suddenly. He could hear screeches, and the familiar sound grated his nerves. Silence was his element, and so he crouched behind a large rock formation, peering up only to allow two glowing orchid eyes to survey the situation.
In the distance, a hungry griffin seemed to be goading a smaller figure. The movements were quick, but it was easy enough to see the target was a yagi, and a female one at that. He frowned a bit, torn between just leaving the yagi female to defend for herself and bounding in to be her knight in shining armour. Valiance won, and soon he was hurtling out from the rocks, his claws unsheathed, grasping the ground and hurling him forwards fast. His panther-like tail was extended beyond his rear, and as he approached the two. A very feline-like snarl escaped from his jaws as he crouched, his muscles extending in a pounce as he sailed through the air. His intended target was the yagi before him, aiming to knock into her and push her out of the way of the griffin.

rylee . mckay "I won't give up on you." Rylee's heart sank when her accusation was confirmed. As soon as she had whirled around, her speed was no match for the gryphon. She was dumb-struck, his form a mere foot from hitting its target. "Shit...!" Her legs felt numb, glued to the ground, knowing there was no use to try and get away. "MOVE!" She willed herself but to no avail. Her legs wouldn't budge. With her only defense left, she lowered her head so the meadium-lengthed daggers were pointed up, prepared to feel the gryphons claws pierce her.
SMACK!
She was thrown sideways, knocked right off her paws. She gasped as she allowed herself to roll for a moment, finding the ground under her paws and shooting back up. That wasn't what she expected. She didn't feel the gryphons claws in her; when she opened her amber optics she realized another wolf had hit into her to throw her from the beast's aim. She knew she didn't know him; his darkly colored fur was hardly familiar. "Who tha...?!" She shut herself up when she remembered the gryphon again.
Narrowing her eyes, she awaited its next move to calcuate her own. Now that she had a moment to think, it would be easy for her to come up with an idea to could maybe get them out of this.

His beady eyes narrowed for a moment in surprise as a dark figure collided with his intended meal. His talons did not connect with her flesh, instead with this new wolf whom had so rudely interrupted his dinner plans.
He curled them, aiming to dig the large daggers into the males shoulder. If he had been smart, he would have attacked the Gryphon itself whilst it was preoccupied with his first target. But no, he had to be a hero and now he would suffer the consequences.
The mythical bird let out a violent screech, warning the female to keep away from his now, second prize. If she was smart, she would turn in that little bob tail of hers and run. The black brute had saved her life, giving his so stupidly in return.

Draco was out hunting, the mountains had not been treating him well especially since it was so close to winter. He could only find small game and he was never quick enough to catch them. He was built for taking down large prey not for chasing after small ones. He had brought himself down closer to the bottom of the mountain in hopes of a cool drink of water and finding a mountain goat. His tongue flicked out frequently tasting the air for any signs of prey as he wandered through the path towards the spring, his ears swivelled hopelessly trying to catch sounds. His eyesight and sense of smell was more than perfect but that took greatly away from his hearing only enabling him to hear something insanely loud or when he was right in front of the noise.
He flicked out his tongue once more only to hear an ear piercing screech of an animal and the scent of two other wolves. He knew immediately that the screech came from the great griffon and that the two wolves were in trouble. He knew he had to help, he let out a loud snarl like howl to let them know he was on his way then took off heading in the direction of the scent. As he neared the scene he could make out the two wolves a female yagi and some sorta male hybrid leaping for the yagi to push her out of harms way. Then cowering before a large griffon poised to strike once again. He could tell by the males scent that he was from his own pack but the female was obviously a loner.
He watched as the griffon leaped at them his claws aiming to dig into the dark males shoulder. "MOVE!" He snarled once as he passed the two flinging himself at the griffons neck jaws ready to tear at his target, his three inch long claws ready to rip at its wings. He would not let this beast hurt a single hair on the two wolves especially since one was his packmate and the other a female. He closed his eyes and braced himself knowing that if he collided with the griffon its long talons would collide with his skin. He just hoped that he could save a few lives and get away with few injuries but then again sometimes what you hope for isnt what you get.

The female seemed shocked, altogether unaware of what was going on. His eyes though focused on the giant hybrid beast, not too unlike himself, the more he thought about it. Both were amalgomations of two completely separate species... his nose twitched at the thought. The talons came down sharply, but a well planned roll meant they only grazed his shoulder instead of piercing his skin. Even still it stung, as he heard the cry of another wolf. Without hesitating he lurched upwards, his head spinning to see the wolf throw himself at the griffin's neck. The blood dripped from his shoulder, but he just shook his head, hackles bristling.
There was no way Duchan was going to let this male fight the griffin alone; it would be suicide. So pivoting on his heel, the male found himself arched through the air at the beast, swinging around to the opposite side. It would pin it between himself and the myou, Draco, was it? The male was in the enclave, but not often seen. Duchan prided himself in knowing everyone though.
With a snarl, his claws extended to grasp onto the griffins shoulder, hoping to latch himself onto the beast and get onto its back. Staying out of the way of the sharp beak would be key.

Rylee thought quickly as the gryphon moved his attention for the male. She glancing around frantically for an idea. "M'be I can attack from the side." Her amber optics flashed towards the gryphon, turning around and darting away from the gryphon. If her tactics were to work, she had to surprise it. When she was sure he couldn't see her she took a sharp turn and rounded around the two.
As she got to the side of the gryphon, a good distance away, she was surprised again to see another male burst from the underbrush and attack the gryphon. "Good! We migh' be able ta beat it with three wolves!" She tensed her muscles and began waiting for the exact moment to attack. She had no fighting abilities, but she was damned if she'd let two males do all the fighting. She was still capable, right?
With the Myou-looking wolf at its neck and the other male for its shoulder, the small Yagi took steps towards the brawl. Her plan was to bullet forward into the gryphon's flank and use the un-used horns on her head to hopefully deal damage. Her ears twitched as she watched, slowly stalking forward. She needed to wait until she had a clear shot at his side; at the moment, it was moving around too much. She glanced at the males. If they could hold it still, she might be able to be of some use after all.
