The thunder made her uneasy, as well as the lightning, for she knew that a thunderstorm was dangerous to any flying wolf. One hit from the lightning and a wolf could die that easily. If they were lucky, they'd be sent crashing to the ground and end up with a few broken bones as well as a nasty burn. The thought of singed feathers and boiled skin made her shudder. Her amber eyes peered through the branches carefully at the dark sky, anticipating the next flash of lightning and crash of thunder. Warily, she tucked her wings in closer to her sides to intensify the warmth she was feeling, just to allow herself to become more comfortable beneath the tree.
"It's good to see you've learned I can't be controlled by a male." She teased lightly, nipping at his ear after the nuzzle he gave to hers. One of the first things she had disliked so greatly about him when they first met was how he seemed to believe that females should be held in a lower standard than males, and rather have their lives dictated by them, in a sense. Perhaps she was exaggerating these things, but she did not like that about him the first time. For the moment, she was just glad to have taught him a lesson, all things considered. It was pretty nice to see that her actions had been taken to heart. "No, you can't tell me what I should do...but Estoni sure as hell won't shut up about it." She growled lightly at the second soul, but only received a laugh from her in return.
Sandra cuddled beneath his wing happily, feeling safe there, which was strange, especially considering everything the two of them had gone through with one another. Had all of the hate and bickering, and at one point the life saving, come to this? The world was funny, and where things ended up were just a mystery. The Great Spirit worked in mysterious ways, often times ones that she could not comprehend. For one, she was not sure why they seemed to have their destinies entangled. Why them? They were such polar opposites, with everything in their lives, except that they both had wings and were both fighters. She didn't understand it at all, really, but as she sat there thinking about it, perhaps she didn't need to understand. Perhaps she should just do what she felt was right.
His voice became soft and gentle, something she didn't think she'd hear. His words stunned her, warmed her from the very core. She was shocked, to say the least. However, she turned her head to look at him inquisitively, as if to ask whether he knew what he was saying or not. She did not question it, though, and decided to be content with his answer. "And mine lies with yours." She rubbed her muzzled gently on his neck, then licked his cheek. Caught in her own world for a moment, another crash of thunder caused her to jump again. Her fur stuck out in every direction, feathers fluffing in the same way. She tried to move closer to the male, finding it near impossible, seeing how close she was already. She cured herself in her mind for hating thunderstorms so much and not leaving when she should have, but for a moment, she felt glad that she didn't leave before the storm hit. | |
