Echo sat inside a hollowed out log, listening to the going-ons of the Mafia pack. He was most likely not supposed to be here but if anyone asked he would blame his obvious problems. His truth for being here was that he was looking for Rache. The female of the mafia, although rather callous and strange, was intriguing. Her family was gone just as his was which gave them more than enough in common. It was a tragic thing to have in common but it meant that they would be able to identify with each other better than most... then again she was a wolf of the mafia. He didn’t know whether wolves of the Mafia had the ability to make friends. None-the-less he would try.
Over the past few hours the noise had dimmed and the warmth had started disappearing from the jungle. The darkness of night hid him from view, the main reason he had not yet been discovered. But he didn’t know this; he had no way to tell between day and night. His days were separated only by the time he slept and the time he was awake. He licked his lips an twitched his antennae, he may not have known the difference of day and night but he did know that a colder-time was coming. His first winter.

Narration "Talking"
Rache yawned, her little teeth gleaming in the moonlight. She was extremely tired but she couldn't sleep. In fact she'd had trouble sleeping ever sense her family had left. Being used to a hoard of warm bodies made it difficult for her to sleep alone. The pup had taken to taking naps in the afternoon sun whenever she could. But lately the temperature had drop. It was only slightly, the jungle was plenty warm during the day, but her body noticed even that small change. She'd need to find a permanent den for the winter if Rache ever wanted to get a decent nights sleep.
The young Mafia wolf stood up from her makeshift den and stretched. There was only one thing to do on a restless night like this. Spy on the adults. Several of them she knew liked to keep late nights and spill their dark secrets to the darkness.
Creeping through the commons wasn't easy, with her bright sunshine yellow fur. But she was small enough for her form to be hidden by the bushes and ferns. Sneaking along Rache came across a fallen hollow log just big enough for her to fit into. The corners of her mouth turned into a sinister wolfish grin. This was the perfect hiding place. She crawled into the into the dark space until her snout collided with something soft and furry.
"Who the-," She narrowed her large brown eyes in the darkness. Light from the other side of the log silhouetted a figure with small butterfly wings. There was only one Sennyo pup she knew in the Mafia. "Echo?" she hissed.

Something nudged at him from behind and Echo had to stop him from crying out, adrenaline pumped through him and he froze. His first thought was that he had been found. That some Mafia adult was now going to rip him apart piece by piece. When Rache spoke he filled with relief, immediately relaxing and he turned to face her. He had learned through his short lifespan that even though he couldn’t see other wolves they still preferred that he looked at them while they spoke. He had never really understood the use of it, if he couldn’t see them then why did he have to look at them? If he looked away they would still be able to see him. He dared not argue with those older or stronger than him though and so it had become a habit.
He gasped, stepping back as something like he had never experience before came into focus. It was as if he could see but it was something much stranger, something completely different. He stepped back, studying her while a look of bewilderment crossed his face. How was this possible? He had never ‘seen’ anything before and this... no it was most definitely impossible.
Rache stood in front of him, her fur bright with black markings. Even in the darkness of the night he could see the colours, his own darkness had been much much darker. He could only see her, nothing else. Just her yellow fur that seemed to be glowing slightly. It was the first thing he had ever seen, it would most likely be the only thing he would ever see. It was amazing, it was beautiful. He saw he as he desired to see her and that was as she truly looked and not as she smelt of felt.
He couldn’t bring himself to say anything, he was utterly shocked, was he asleep and dreaming? Or was this some sort of trick of the mind. Maybe he was just extremely tired.

Narration "Talking"
The small warm mass of puppy moved. It turned toward her and with her eyes now adjusted to the darkness she could just make out the features. Yup, it was Echo, but what was he doing hanging around her? Wasn't there someone watching him? Come to think of it there had been no one looking after him last time either. Maybe they figured he wasn't a threat, which in Rache's opinion, was true.
When Echo didn't answer her the yellow and black youth felt annoyance well up inside her. What was wrong with him? Did he think she'd out him? Rache got the unnerving feeling that he was staring at her, which wasn't possible. Echo was blind. He was just doing a really good job of facing her.... and looking directly into her eyes..and scanning her form. Rache shivered and tried to sit up from her crouch, which was difficult. While the hollow log might have been a nice size for Echo, it was cramped for Rache. She was half grown and while Echo would probably end up taller than her, he still had two more years to get there.
"Well, well Pretty Boy," she had grown quite fond of the pet name," you are out quite late. What ever are you doing lurking around the commons?"she practically purred, a feral glint in her eye. It was actually quite lucky for her to have run into Echo. There last encounter may have ended in tears but he was still a source for entertainment for the dastardly Mafia pup.
