[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [bg=00c5cd]Lio did not have much on his mind save for being able to communicate with this pretty, intriguing female in front of him. Some would call Lio a player, and some might be right. But then again, how he felt was genuine, if at the time he said he loved you, at the time he meant it, and he would never lie to a female. If he chose to never be as singular mate male then a female would know that before things ever went anywhere. He was not a con artist of a manipulator. He simply had a big enough heart with enough feelings for himself and others, he was a protector who cared for a multitude of others and in essence that’s what made him perfect. He was no power hungry, or completely domineering, he was exactly what his mother used to call him, a little ‘Romeo’. At the time he thought it might have been a bad thing but as he grew, he knew it was a compliment.
He still felt bad about stepping on her, not because it had led to anything unpleasant but because he was terrified he might have hurt her in some way. But he could not feel bad about running into a beautiful female and spending the day with her uninterrupted but anyone else. He could not imagine how horrible it would be for them both if they had no way to communicate with each other. Their silence and body language was lovely but a big part of connection and communication is knowing another’s name. He wanted them to be close and able to communicate, but it wouldn’t stop him from seeking her out, attracting her to his cause anything to keep her around regardless of whether they could speak.
Her reaction to him getting her name right could have blew him away with happiness. She got up and gave him a bark of approval to which he nodded excitedly. She was contagious he swore, her happiness, and excitement, her bounding up and down, he wanted to jump with her, but now came the more serious aspect, trying to get her to say or figure out his name, and so the excitement while wonderful and had his heart racing was not going to settle as his mind tried to work around the ways to explain his name. When she touched his neck however he pushed his eyes to hers before he had to tear them away to begin drawing.
He had hoped she would understand the name, and when her eyes brightened he thought had had gotten in but then something else set in as well. Disappointment, akin to sadness and he saw the confusion cloud over her face and sighed gently, his shoulders falling forward. She had an idea but she didn’t know yet…His ears perked up…she knew the animal! Maybe she just didn’t know the name…he knew they sounded different so there was a big possibility they would look different when he said them! He pushed his nose under her face to lift it up and have her look at him. When he was sure he had her attention he backed away for a moment and met her eyes.
He sounded out ‘Leo’ as long as he could, sound included. “Lllleeeeooo” He made sure to elongate the ‘o’ sound so she would see it was not ‘lion’ with a closed mouth ‘n’ sound but an open ‘o’ sound. This would make the name more clear he hoped. He spoke the word a few times, each time slowly, but quick enough so she could see it all together. Each time he said the word he looked up, the constellation’s name was Leo, not lion. His name was essentially the same as the lion in the sky. His eyes lit up with hope as he looked at her, and wondered if he had made it any clearer. He cursed himself for his own stupidity, and hoped that she would prove smarter than him that she could grasp his name even though he was giving her such little help….For once he felt helpless which was not like him at all.

She was frantically searching for any precious answer in his eyes and there was none. Concern and desperation creased her pretty face and she parted her jaws as if she was going to speak something. She would if she could. She would ask him everything in a string of questions. He interested her and she was desperate to know more about this handsome cael. Just being around him made her feel all happy inside; every time spent with him was every time precious to her. She couldn't explain why or how. The green female remembered her times with Crow and they were... How much she hated to admit this, but they were practically nothing compared to this. This hurt her so much on the inside; the crazy yagi was her 'bestest' friend and losing him would like losing a limb or two.
This cael was stirring some curious feeling inside her. Tor was quick to place them as admiration. It was partially right but there were more and she didn't know that. It had given her a surge of pleasure when she saw how happy he was when he got her name. Just a name. Sure it represented your identity but just a small realisation had given him a such joy. Her tail wagged faintly at the memory of him being happy. She wanted to see it again so bad. Her world suddenly darkened and went grey as she saw disappointment in his eyes; now it was as if only his joy would lighten everything up. This puzzled her; it was obvious that she had never felt this 'admiration' before.
Crow's happiness usually was infectious, especially for Tor but his misery never dulled her world like how this cael's did. Her ears flattened and she averted her gaze from him almost guiltily. Was she liking this cael more than her yagi friend? No, it was impossible; she had known Crow for a while and this cael for... only a few hours. How could she like the water wolf more than the horned wolf? She laughed at herself inwardly, silly Tor, it wasn't possible. But it was painfully obvious that this wolf made her so happy and Tor chose to ignore this out of guilt.
She felt a lift under her chin and it took all of her willpower to look up at the cael's eyes again. Slowly her guilt dissolved as she realised that he wanted her to look carefully at him. She responded by staring at his eyes intently until his lips began to move, and that was when her eyes darted down to his muzzle. He was speaking something slowly in an attempt to have her read it. She immediately knew it was his name; after all it was their main topic right now. After some repetitions made by him Tor knew she recognised a 'L' and an 'E' and an 'O'. She brightened and wagged her tail before saying his name back to him to ensure it. Leo? He was Leo! She spoke it out but without voice; "Leo? Leo!" Then she decided to elongate it to be double sure; "Llll....eeee....oooo." Crow was easier because he only drew his name and she was able to grasp it much quicker but with this Leo she had to read it on his lips. That was why Tor would like to be sure.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [bg=00c5cd]Body movement and facial expressions would often tell one more than simple words. Lies, truths, being uncomfortable, being happy, all could be expressed through eyes, body and other nonverbal clues of communication. Right now two wolves, completely different in color, size and many more differences stared at each other, desperate to communicate with something more than what they were given. The sun was now breaking up the fog, and clouds around them, and Lio found himself dryer much more quickly than he had thought, soon his tail split and formed back into two legs, albeit a slight face of pain crossed over. His eyes got squinty for a moment before he looked back to himself to make sure everything had gone right, so far he had no reason to be paranoid but just wanted to make sure.
He hated to see such distress on her face, but he knew trying to verbalize anything just would add to her confusion. If she could hear he would have spewed forth hours of conversation, asking her a million questions and probably answering just as many. They seemed quite eager to know each other and for once he was so content that they had “ran” into each other. He was trying to wrack his brain for an answer to how to communicate but found his lack of ability more than frustrating. It was the first time in his new life where he felt utterly inept and completely inexperienced. Tor was his first experience with any wolf or being who could not speak or hear, and he desperately wanted to impress her, or at least leave a lasting impression with her, so that she would never forget him.
Lio was fighting his own person battle within himself, not only to know her name, and memorize it forever, but to get his name across to her. He was quickly infatuated with the female, and he was VERY familiar with the feelings of infatuation. It could quickly be misconstrued as love by some who were not familiar with it, and there were those who mistook it for falling quickly in and out of love. Neither was the case with Lio, he knew this female would take over his brain for a while yet, his heart infatuated with the very idea of being near her. The fact that her ears had gone down and she looked away while he was thinking snapped his attention back to her. He leaned in and pushed his nose up under her chin to lift her face to the sun, more than once in case she decided to try to look down and away again.
He thought her face should never be dulled and away from the light that made her so beautiful to him. His eyes were full of caring, and compassion for the female, and he would do anything, even if it meant hurling himself off the cliffs into the water to make the female smile once more. When she finally began to pay attention as he said his name over and over he sent up a silent prayer, ‘Please….please…’. It seemed to be more than important to both of them to be able to communicate with each other, a perilously close to dangerous need. But infatuation often struck quickly, and unexpectedly and worse than that, as quick as it came, it was more than slow going to leave which is why it was mistaken for love so often.
He watched with playfully gleaming eyes as she voiced his name, although without sound. He in turn leaned down and watched her muzzle carefully, and the way her lips moved on her face to make sure she was ‘saying’ it right. She was elongating noises and sounds as well, but he could see she had it right. He barked with joy, and jumped up from the sand to bounce around in front of her. His excitement seemed to completely overwhelm him, and he finally gained control of himself he sat down in front of her and nodded enthusiastically. She was right, his name, for all intensive purposes was Lio. It was simply spelled differently than the constellation. Unfortunately, she might never know his full name, Nelio, which means moving water, but as long as she had something to call him they would fine. His tail began to wag furiously as he stared into her eyes….unsure of where to go from here, the joy in his heart near he point of implosion.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true] | [atrb=width,453,true][atrb=background,http://i53.tinypic.com/nb525z.pngh][scrolly:h(173),w(453),sy] This interaction wasn't new to her, in fact she was tired of this; the struggle. But then the thought of her getting the name right was forcing her to try harder and not to give up. Not only that; this brown cael's face was so distraught, disappointed and frustrated and it pained Tor's heart. And it made her desire to know his name even more obvious. She did not like those ugly emotions marring his handsome face and the only solution was to find his identity. She felt a soft force under his chin and soon her hidden face was moved into the direct rays of sunlight, lightening her innocent features up. She tried to pull her head free of the cael's light grip but he was more firm than she expected. So then Tor decided that she had nothing to lose when she looked into the swirling eyes of the other wolf.
This should be the most simplest thing in the world. Just say the name and hear other's name then you're done. Or at least it should be. But this was a tough challenge for this young female; it involved miming, scrawling on the sand, or, in this case, lip-reading. Interactions similar to this sharpened this cael's mind, encouraging her brain to become more quicker. But it didn't make it any easier; here she was, struggling with this male cael. So when Tortoiseshell thought she had got his name, Leo, she felt elated as if her spirit was lifted and soared above the two wolves. Every ending like this was worth the struggle, and every time at the end she felt like bouncing around cheerfully. She knew this wasn't something to be hopping around to most wolves but... they don't know what it is like to struggle to know one's name.
She leapt into air once again and as soon as she landed softly onto ground she hopped to the cael and started to lick his face while pawing his paws softly. It was her way to show that she was pleased and excited now that they knew each other properly. Now that she was feeling a little more calmer she dropped her body next to this Leo and snuggled up to his warm fur. Sure she was less excited but her happiness and pleasure hadn't lessened. The name was a gateway to knowing each other more and now, with the barrier had been destroyed, it should be easier for them to communicate. She knew she was a step closer to share her thoughts with Leo. It was quicker with her and Crow as they had spent almost all of their time together after their first meeting and she feverishly hoped it would be just the same for this cael.
Wait. Why the heck was she comparing him with the yagi? Tor knew they were completely different but... it wasn't intended; all of this happened in her mind instinctively. She knew it was wrong and silly but... Was it because she was feeling something entirely different towards Leo than Crow? With Crow, it was as if she was with her family and the feeling for Leo wasn't like this. It was unlike anything she had felt before. But what was it?! The desperation to know overwhelmed her so she turned to the cael's face to ask. But how can she explain to him? Emotions weren't particular easy to explain when you can't speak. It was more of an abstract than something more material so it was almost impossible to explain through body and sand-drawings. She sighed and turned her head to fix her metallic gaze at her paws. She could tell him later on through mindbreaking, she hoped. Something deep inside the young female did not want to lose this male.
But Tor did not want to have an awkward silence filling the air around them so she snuffled at his neck before drawing back, looking at him curiously. Then she pointed at him with her nose with curiosity filled her face. She was asking who was him? She knew the name obviously but she wanted to know everything else about him.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [bg=00c5cd]Lio never knew he could be infatuated with another wolf, or female, and yet be so frustrated at the same time. The silence between he and Tor was strained, but it wasn’t due to the silence itself at all. He expected the silence might bother him, but he felt like there was less pressure to come up with things to say. That was until right now, now he felt himself tremble with frustration about not being able to speak to her. If they were having this much of a struggle just to know each other’s names, how could they ever be able to communicate? How could he tell her about his past, his history, or even his real name? How could he ever find out more about her, if she had a family, who her friends were, where she stayed? This barrier of silence not only due to her deafness but her seemingly mute-ness as well.
His metallic eyes watched her very carefully, and he began to internally berate himself, he was an idiotic fool, he was frustrated yes, but he could still speak to others, hear the ocean waves behind him, he lived in a world of sound. Tor, lived in a world of sight, and even though they were able to see all the same things, their perceptions were quite different due to her lack of hearing. Him being so close to her, and pushing her face into the sun lit her features so beautifully, so perfectly. The image began to make his heart pound with the sheer effort of looking into her beauty. Her next reaction, exuberant and completely happy made him feel completely content, albeit a bit shocked. When she came to lick his face and paw at his own paws he yipped and growled playfully, returning the licks with the same exuberance. At least now she would know who he was by name, and that was the beginning of a connection.
When her weight plopped down beside him and she snuggled in next to him, he felt himself puff out in a numerous amount of ways. Completely content he pushed in against her, their rather fluffed pelts, now dry brushing against each other. Her scent covered and coated him and in turn he could smell the mingling of their scents with the sand beneath them, and the sun having finally broken through the fog it felt as though it was symbolic of what he had just gone through to break through the fog with this female. She was special, but Lio felt a nagging sensation in the back of his mind. For now though, he pushed it aside in favor of feeling her so very close to him. When she turned her face to his, he looked into her eyes, wishing he could indeed read her mind, answer questions, ask her questions, anything to know more.
Soon she was snuffling at him to gain his attention and looking at him with curiosity filling her eyes. These things he could see as she projected them through her eyes, facial expressions were rather easy for Lio. But he had no idea how to explain more about himself to her without being able to verbalize it. He closed his eyes and a barrage of pictures and videos filled his mind, from the time he was a puppy, and running and jumping off a cliff into the waterfall below, his parents, loving along with the rest of his pack. The horrible night his sister ran away, and he was left alone to grow up without her. The water drying up and his family forced to leave, losing them in the storm…..His eyes opened, so filled with pain he wasn’t sure he wanted to look at Tor, she didn’t need to see all this…hear all this…figuratively speaking.
With a hefty sigh he placed a paw forward on the sand, and with a horrid attempt her drew four figures. They looked like wolves, with weird squiggly tales, now Lio didn’t really know how to spell or write, but he could at least attempt to tell his story through pictures. He drew a waterfall, with the four figures around it happy…..and then he “X’ed” or erased one of the smaller figures……then he wiped the scene, and then drew three figures in water, but then drew large waves, and “X’ed” out the two bigger wolves with squiggly tails, leaving only a slightly larger wolf, standing on sand with a squiggly tail. He nosed the small drawing and then pulled his paw in close to him. He was the lone squiggly wolf on the sand, alone after it was all said and done….He hoped he had tried to tell her in the least negative way he could that he was alone now.
