The bane of her existence was the rumble and tumble of puppies in the same den with herself…in fact she had found a den she had rather enjoyed when Ahote came to her rescue a few days ago, and whenever she could she dove up into the higher part of the tree to sleep amongst the furs she had found there. Apparently some very smart female was collecting fur off the meat in the prey pile and furnishing dens with it. She wondered if the males were as smart as females, and with a smile decided they were not. She of course checked in with Avalon when she felt she had to, to at least let her know number six was alive and well.
This morning however she stuck herself deeper within the furs of the abandoned den she had now chosen to sleep in, most of the time she even dragged Eo up there with her, to have at least someone to sleep with, not that she needed anyone, no no, but as it got colder, a warm body was nice….okay, she could admit to herself as she lay there eyes squeezed shut, she loved Eo. Her sister was the only one that didn’t shun her for her pissiness, and Eo had plenty of reason to, as did everyone else. She sniffed for a moment, having a small moment of self pity…everyone hated her, even her own mother didn’t have time for her, and her father, what a joke. The bastard had left Avalon and never even bothered to meet Luparia.
‘Why didn’t he want to stay? Didn’t he see me and think I am gorgeous? Even if Avalon was a pain and not too smart, I could have been enough…’ Oh yes, here came the daddy complex, and Luparia was helpless to stop it, a single tea slid down from her eyes, and as beautiful as they were dry, they were even more so wet. She could only allow herself this weakness while she was alone, for who knew who was lurking around the tree who would tattle they had seen her cry alone in a den…especially over something that couldn’t have been changed. Her stomach rumbled but Luparia wrinkled up her nose and smashed her face into the furs vindictively. [/scrolly]

[scrolly:h(200),w(420),sy,c()]Aroh was being quite the little man, ever since Adraxxia had gotten to fly, he had made sure he and Syver had the experience as well. Even though he was still a puppy, Aroh was trying to emulate his father in every meaning of the word. This meant that even though he was staying in his father’s den in the home tree with his siblings, he made frequent trips to the female home tree, inspecting the prey pile (as though he might need to hunt) and checking in the female dens to make sure they were happy. Most did not have a problem and found the little male strutting about to be cute. Those who did have a problem usually never said anything considering whose son he was.
Even though Ahote had more time to spend with them, it was important he had told them to be reliant on themselves and their siblings. Adraxxia still pestered them, albeit lovingly, but she had reached out to their adopted siblings for other companionship, and other female company. Aroh had Syver, and himself and to him that was clearly enough. It wasn’t that he had a problem necessarily with his adopted siblings, he just never thought they had anything in common, or enough in common, not like him and his brother. He was on the hunt for the dark green male, he wanted to go adventuring with Syver but he nor Adraxxia was anywhere to be found. It was frustrating to say the least. After a few long moments of scouring the Home Tree he heard a soft whimpering and sniffling sound, and decided to investigate.
When he found Luparia with her muzzle smashed into the furs, making the weakened noises, his green eyes widened tremendously. Luparia never cried, heck she never even smiled, or showed any emotion. He could hardly believe what he was saying and he was hesitant to walk in on her, not wanting to suffer her wraith, which he knew from his sister could be full of hate. With a slow, deep breath he opened his small maw and spoke, “Lu….Luparia…are you okay? I could maybe drag you up some breakfast?” Hey Aroh was like his father, he could be completely nice when he wanted to be, or when he thought he could have a chance to act like a grown up..[/scrolly]

Try as she might she just couldn’t get herself under control, even when she saw who it was: Aroh. He had never really been on her bad side, the fact that he and his brother stuck together and left her alone had actually won him points. But right now as much as she wanted to snap at him she couldn’t. She was feeling just too damn vulnerable. Her little skinny body trembled even with the furs around her, and her eyes met his, in silence for a long moment. Here he was, humbled by the very site of her, and even though her pride would like to take credit, it was her weakness that cowed the small Yagi male.
He had asked her somewhere if she was okay, and she wanted to just scream that no she wasn’t okay. She was a bastard pup, just like that stupid brown and silver Yagi had said, she would never say she was ugly but she indeed did not know her pedigree and no amount of sharp comments would ever let her know it. She was cold, with no one to sleep with, it would seem even today her own siblings would deny her refuge amongst them. Then there was Aroh, who had come into the tree even though he didn’t have to, was standing in front of her, even though he didn’t have to, and was even offering to be nice, even though he didn’t have to.
She sniffed softly, and coughed trying to shake off her outburst but she nodded softly and said in a low, cracked voice…”Yes I would like something to eat…” She did not say please, or thank you, but her vulnerability made it so she couldn’t life her eyes to meet his a second time. Things were not okay, and because she felt so weak she would lean on the oldest, strongest male she knew personally, and that would be Aroh. She hoped that her vulnerability, good looks, and emotional problems would be enough to keep her close, at least until she could fall back asleep, or stop crying. She vowed in the time Aroh was gone she would try to pull herself together..[/scrolly]

[scrolly:h(200),w(420),sy,c()]Aroh almost did not know what to do, he was thankful though he had taken the time this morning to be cleaned. Showing up around Luparia looking anything less than clean and put together could bring about her sharp, sometimes nasty comments. Today his sandy brown pelt, with it’s interesting pattern of green speckles was bright, his sleek black stripes running smoothly along the gangly length of him. He watched the smaller female in front of him, sniffle, and cry and just in general look as though her world was coming apart. He had not heard anything bad had happened to Avalon but then again it was entirely possible. He dared not ask yet though…
When she said she would indeed like something to eat he nodded vigorously and headed down the Home Tree to the prey cache. He felt like his father indeed, his father would not let a female be sad and hungry in her own home. No, he would be brave, and kind and get her food and make her feel better, he just knew that’s how his dad would do it. He saw a few fish, rabbits, birds, and wrinkled his nose. What would Luparia like to eat? He tried to put his mouth around a rabbit and a bird and swiftly decided he was just not big enough. BUT! He could drag the bird atop the rabbit and drag it up towards where Luparia was laying. He puffed out with the pride of thinking he was a genius.
It took him a little longer but eventually he got the bird and the rabbit up to where Luparia was. He dragged it right to where she was laying and huffed, taking a deep breath. “I didn’t know what you might like, so I brought you one of each..” He chuckled, trying to make his voice sound low and mature as he sat by her side and awaited her choice, whichever she didn’t want he would be happy to eat for her so they didn’t waste anything. But his eyes for a moment rested on her and he couldn’t help but think she couldn’t all be bad, not if she was up here, crying, alone. [/scrolly]

Then along comes Aroh, looking like he could change her world, and not only does he ask if I am okay, he wants to get me something to eat! If Luparia had any grace she would look like a deer ran her over and then kicked her into the lake just for shock value. However while he was gone she simply took in a few deep long breaths, and tried to recollect herself and figure out exactly what it was that she needed to feel better. More sleep? Something to eat? To find Eo? None of them sounded particularly appealing.
She noticed it was taking him a while to get her food, and for a moment she panicked. What if she was getting Avalon, or worse Ahote? What could they do, would she really have wasted her time in depending on him? What if he just ran away like everyone else? Her throat closed at the very thought and she put her head down again, but managed to control her tears. She felt pathetic, and tried to vow not to do this anymore. But the truth was whether she wanted to admit it or not was Luparia was a puppy, and fully entitled to and expected to cry or break down when something was bothering her.
When the sandy, speckled male appeared back with not only a rabbit but a bird Luparia actually squeaked in surprise. Not only had he gone through the trouble to get her something, he had brought her two somethings to choose from! She put her paw on the rabbit and smiled up at Aroh, “How about we both eat half and then switch?” It was one of the nicest things Luparia had ever offered but she sat down next to the taller male and began to pick at the rabbit, letting him get started on the bird….she wanted to tell or ask him a million questions but so far stuffing her face might have been the best solution. How pathetic the world seemed now, as Eolande rolled over, seeing her mum sound asleep with the rest of her siblings at her stomach. Everyday was the same, it was almost catatonic now. Wake up, find food, be bothered by siblings, go the sleep. She sighed, pushing herself up onto her legs. Of course, her movement couldn't help but rouse her brother, who had formed a strong attachment to her, which she very much begrudged. Sighing, she watched as Delirium stirred, his eyes opening as her own bore down on him.
"Moooornin'," he yawned, grinning a bit and wiggling his body out to get all the sleep from it. Eolande gave him a dirty look and shushed him. He seemed to get the hint and she stood up slowly. A cursory glance around the den showed that Luparia was not around. Out of all her siblings, Luparia was the only one Eolande remotely enjoyed spending time with. She was stuck with Liri whether she liked it or not, and she could tolerate his banter, but Luparia shared some of her own qualities... and she had the stubby horns too. A sharp inhale brought her scent to her nose, and using what she had learned from her parents, she began to track her sister.
Her sister was not far away, with a rabbit and with Aroh. Eolande's brows quirked slightly at the site, and once she was sure she was out of hearing distance from her siblings she gave out a soft bark towards them. Liri trailed behind her, watching the surroundings more than paying attention to the things at hand.
"Am I interrupting something?" she purred a bit, giving Luparia a slightly comical look. Was she making friendly with the alpha's pups? It wasn't like her to spend time with others, and most tended to shun her on first sight. It was a bit nice to see her perhaps making a friend.

[scrolly:h(200),w(420),sy,c()]Aroh didn’t think there was anything wrong with Luparia, he knew she was different, and that she was an adopted siblings. Truth be told if he could hang out with his own sister or brother he would have, something deep down told him she was just too different, but he was also his father’s son. Nothing would have turned him away from a female in need, and he knew that his father had taught him, as well as ingrained within his brain that he was to take care of a female, especially if they looked like they needed. In Luparia’s case it seemed obvious she needed someone in that moment, even if she didn’t feel like talking about it, he could at least make sure she ate something.
When she squeaked he turned an ear up to look at her, she simply didn’t seem like the type to make weird, surprised noises. But instead of dwelling on it he simply looked at her as she chose the rabbit and suggested they split the other one. He nodded and began to remove the feathers from the bird as he sat next to her. “It’s a good thing someone went out hunting, or I might have had to go look for something….” Not that he would mind going outside to look for prey, he just knew it would take longer, and he might not have had the choices he was afforded by picking it from the prey pile. They ate in continued silence until it was time to switch, and amazingly they switched without a problem, and began to enjoy the other’s left overs.
It was not long after the switch when he scented that others were coming, and by the scent it would be Luparia’s siblings. In this respect he really didn’t envy Luparia, it was hard enough for him to have Syver, and Adraxxia. But Luparia had six other siblings to deal with, to him it was unthinkable….He heard Eo’s bark and turned his eyes into her direction. “Not really, Eo, I just figured I would do what I am supposed to do, make sure the females have their breakfast and all..” In truth the carcass was more eaten by Aroh, who had more experience eating meat than Luparia but he wasn’t going to tell them he had found her crying and wanted to make her happy again…he turned to Luparia and said lowly, “Want me to go?”[/scrolly]

It was such an uneasy situation, it was almost as if anything she said would be wrong, or cause even more unease. So she tried very hard to concentrate on eating the meat he had given her. The smallest of bites and tearing was going on, as her natural instinct to put her face into her food was denied. When she commented on someone going hunting she smiled lightly, “Yes I guess everyone has something to do, and now that you got me a good meal maybe I can go out exploring around before it get too too cold. Are you going on patrol? Seeing who else you can get food for?” She smiled slightly as she tore another small piece of meat off the rabbit.
Before she knew it they had traded and she was enjoying the taste of foul, which she had to say she almost preferred. Perhaps because the bird meat, little as it was, was more tender than the rabbit, she shrugged simply enjoying picking around feathers. She turned to look at Aroh only to see a feather had stuck to side of his face and she began laughing, and tried to point it out to him when she heard her sister’s bark and smelled her scent along with Liri’s tagging along. ‘You’d swear that he was actually attached to her in some way..’ she thought bitterly to herself. Soon though they would both appear and Aroh, startled her by now giving away that she had been crying. She stared at him, truly shocked, and trying to keep it off her face. He also covered up the fact that he was being beyond nice to her….
She looked at Eo and nodded, “Yeah he just got me some good breakfast, I was enjoying it, and now you’re up, and found me….both of you…” Her look was not entirely friendly towards Liri, but she tolerated him, just as Eo did, although she would not tolerate him puppying after her in any capacity, not that he would. When Aroh asked if he should leave she simply shrugged, “You can go if you want, check on other females, or whatever it is you wanna do…” She left it open, but her voice had lost it’s shakiness. It was almost as if she would die if her own siblings found out she had been up here, indulging in a moment of weakness and vulnerability. Turning back to Eo she spoke, “What are you going to do today?”[/scrolly]

It felt weird to see Luparia in the company of Aroh, and so Eolande was slightly out of her comfort zone. She didn't really mind Ahote's pups; they were all quite nice themselves, and much better company than her own siblings. She had just no idea that they actually may have been friends. Delirium's thought process was a bit simpler, and he just hung by Eo's side, watching the two wolves before him. For the male, the full yagi pup was just another playmate, albeit a more intimidating one. They were older, but also much bigger than himself. The only ones who rivalled them in size were Eolande and Luparia, who were getting quite large themselves. Aroh was bulky though, and Eolande was merely tall and strong. It was interesting though to see all the pups together and his yellow eyes swerved between the three. They could almost be siblings, with their large bodies, and nubbly little bits on their heads.
Aroh was the first to reply though and soon Delirium saw himself watching the yagi, his eyes focused on his growing horns. He wanted horns too, like Eo and Lup and Morgan... but he had no horns and it made him sad. Weren't siblings supposed to share? Eolande nodded a bit in reply, turning to give Delirium a glare, who blinked, since he didn't think he had done anything wrong.
"How gentlemanly of you," she replied with a quirked brow. Aroh had no reason to warrant her foul mood so she kept the sneer from her voice. Who was he to think he needed to take care of Luparia? She could take care of herself. Luparia's response confirmed it, but Eolande's lip curle slightly ad she nodded. Of course. There was nothing behind this at all. Delirium in the mean time had busied himself with trodding around to where Aroh was and staring up at him. "Did you hunt that all by yourself? Can you teach me? I'm... I'm trying but I'm not very good. Pa says I need to be quieter," he beamed up at the yagi, suddenly his hero now for catching a rabbit. Eolande hadn't noticed him sneak off towards him until his voice caught her ears and she just rolled her eyes in return.
She said nothing as the two communicated, whether or not Aroh was going to go or stay. Either way Eolande didn't really care, or at least she hoped they didn't think she cared. In truth she wasn't too fussed with Aroh's presence and would have been much more happier in the company of her sister alone... and that meant Delirium too. Maybe that was a way to get them separated. "Aroh, maybe you could take Liri out and teach him a thing or too. By the Great Spirit, his hunting is atrocious. He couldn't catch a fly if he tried," she gave Liri a sneering grin, which he returned with a sad little pout. But Eolande didn't waste her attention too long on that, moving towards Luparia once more and replying to her question. "Nothing, really. Every day is the exact same. I can't stand it. I wish there was something more we could do. Ideas?"

[scrolly:h(200),w(420),sy,c()]He listened to Luparia ask if he was going out on patrol, in truth he himself was still too young to truly patrol but the idea of exploring had crossed his mind and he nodded briefly. “Yes I think I might go out on patrol, or find a female to accompany…” His eyes turned to the female and he smiled, big and innocent. When she began to laugh and point out that he had a feather, or more than one on his face he swiped at his face with both his paws until his face was clear of debris. He watched as Eo and her brother descended on the den and watched Luparia carefully, he knew that out of all the siblings Luparia and Eo were most likely to be found in each other’s company, much like he and Syver were almost always together.
When he was given the leeway to stay or go he stood there full of uncertainty, usually Adraxxia told him what to do, which he hated but Luparia had given him the choice and the power to do as he wanted, so he stood there for a moment, deciding. His eyes fell on the only other male in the room, he and straightened his stance, and held his head high, the nubs becoming more like little points on his head, his ears held straight up and pointed in their direction. Aroh had never forgot who his father was, and even remembered his father telling him that his mother had once run her own pack as well, so for Aroh there was a lot to be proud of, and a lot to live up to. When Eo made her smart comment Aroh simply looked at her and smiled, “Well, that’s me.” He was fully aware of killing her with kindness just like he did with Rax.
Before he knew it, Liri had come closer and was looking up at him. Aroh didn’t quite know what to do, so he looked down on the smaller male, and let his tongue fall out of his mouth and off to the side, making a near goofy face as he listened to him speak. He then looked back at the food and at Luparia. He didn’t want to take credit for something he didn’t do, but the little male did not give him much room to offer the truth. His eyes went to Eo, watching her roll her eyes, and then Luparia who simply offered him a small smile, and an even smaller nod, as if to say, ‘Go on..’ Turning back to Liri he nodded, “Well maybe we could go exploring and let the girls have their time, and I can show you what my father has been teaching me…” He turned cool eyes to Eo as she insulted her brother and said lowly, “Well maybe if he had a good teacher he could improve…” He snorted slightly and turned back to Liri, “Let’s head on outside and leave the females to sitting on the big, and getting bigger rear ends…” He turned back to Luparia and gave a small smile before heading out of her den and down to the entrance. Him being slightly bigger than her, and wanting to take care of her was just what she had needed when she found him. But her eyes fell to her sister when she appeared in their room. By far Olyvar, and Eo were her favorites in the litter of her own siblings, and they each looked different, she and Olyvar were completely different. From body type, to markings, horns, and even eyes, they were totally different but they thought alike and she found him to be a favored source of entertainment, even someone she could relax around. Now, Eo, Luparia believed she and Eo actually should have been twins with how much they were alike, Eo was a darker color than her, and she had different markings but their body types, horns and attitudes could not be denied as similar.
She watched as Liri sat and seemingly idolized Aroh, and she looked at the Yagi for a moment, besides coloring, she could almost count Aroh amongst her own siblings, except for the fact that as she and her sister grew, they became taller, and lanky, and Aroh grew taller, and much more built with muscle, making her appear quite stocky. She tilted her head slightly but could see Eo rolling her eyes at Liri and smiled at her sister, sharing the same thought that Liri might just have been the biggest pain in the butt in the litter. As Liri went up to Aroh, Luparia stood, and stretched out her legs and tail, and lightly shook herself off. She went and sat next to Eo, letting the boys communicate about hunting, or patrolling, or whatever it was they were talking about while she breathed in her sister’s scent and smiled with comfort. She would have never let her sister see her cry, but her very presence made Luparia happier.
When Aroh made his comment and headed off with Liri, Luparia pretended to pout at the sheer notion that anything about her was large in an unattractive way. She preened for a moment while she looked at Eo. “Yes, every day is the same, we toddle about the tree, or right outside the tree, we eat, we sleep, we listen to the rest of them…..” Her voiced trailed off about the endless monotony that was their lives. “I swear Liri is blockheaded enough to have born a Yagi…” She smirked and looked at Eo, looking at her eyes, and her nubs, and even her markings. When her sister had asked for ideas Luparia frankly didn’t know any…”We could always sneak off and explore some other territory….you know no one would miss us…” Her eyes turned a devious shade of green as she stood and looked at Eo, “While we do this Liri can re-attach himself to someone else…” She might have been slightly jealous of Liri. Slightly. Not that she would ever admit it. [/scrolly]

Delirium was off to the races, staring at Aroh as he let his tongue fall out of his mouth. He giggled, lifting a paw to poke at him. "Hehehe, you look silly," he giggled, waiting for Aroh to speak more. His words were more than the pup could have hoped for; Aroh was going to teach him what Ahote had taught him! His eyes widened with amazement and he almost leaped up with joy. How would he not? The idea of learning from the leader's son was super amazingly awesome and all his siblings would be so jealous. Even Olyvar! He barely caught Aroh's comment to Eolande, but even if he had he wouldn't have really cared. Eolande caught it though and her eyes narrowed slightly. She said nothing though, snorting a bit and turning her attention solely on Luparia.
Delirium did bounce up for joy when Aroh said to follow him. He was going a real adventure with Aroh and it would be amazing and he would learn to hunt and Pyke would be so proud and then he'd catch a rabbit and everyone would go "WOW" and he'd be amazing and then they'd throw a huge party and everyone would be excited! He giggled at Aroh's comment, which brought another sneer from Eolande and pranced behind him, ready to go on an adventure.
Eolande said nothing in response to any of Aroh's comments, preferring to take the higher horse... for now. He obviously thought himself better than she, but soon he would see the error in his ways. Once the boys were out of earshot, she turned towards Luparia. "Ignore the bugger, he'll be begging on his paws for us one day when he wants the most beautiful females in the enclave for mates," she said with a smirk and a grin. Oh the irony. Her comment about Liri though brought a genuine chuckle from the young female. "I swear, he's enough like... Avalon, that they could be twins. At least he's far less annoying," she replied, but was instantly thrown off her train of thought when Luparia suggested sneaking off.
"That, dear sister, is a fantastic idea. Maybe we could even go out and see the world... we're small and quiet enough to hide amongst the forest. I'm sure we could figure out something interesting to do. I wonder how many packs are around here..."
