It was gorgeous out, the air surprisingly warm for fall, the stars twinkled brightly in the dark blue sky as the moon cast it's glow upon the cliffs of the cove. The waves lapped gently at the beach, calming and soothing. There sat a midnight black wolf bathed in silver by the moon, her sapphire eyes staring up at the night sky. This wolf was something to see sitting there in the moonlight. Flowers of all kinds graced her pelt as a pair of dark metallic blue dragonfly wings beat slowly creating a humming noise, there colours catching the light in a way that made them sparkle.
Avani sat there in the sand wondering about nothing in particular more in her own daydream thinking about things she knew that could never happen, what ifs and if onlys. What if I could fly? What if I hadn't left? What if I never spoke those words? If only I could go back. She sighed, she couldn't remain in the past, those who did risked the future. Turning her attention away from her thoughts and onto her fur she searched through her flowers plucking the ones that had suffered from the cold so that the others had more room. Smiling as a Moonflower bloomed right before her eyes, slowly opening it's petals to the moons glow.
Smiling glanced around for anymore of her night blooming flowers stopping at an already bloomed Night Lilly and plucking it ever so lightly and placing it on the ground in front of her. Staring at it in awe of it's equisite beauty. She lowered herself to the ground the flower still in front of her as she closed her eyes to the beat of her wings and the sweet smell of the flower.

The moon was casting its silvery light down the earth, bathing everything with its ethereal light. The silver glare of the moon gave the night a cold appearance but in reality it was quite warm. Warm enough that Red wanted to curl up and sleep but at the same time he was in the mood for the moonlight stroll. He, as usual, kept a good distance away from the lapping waves, eyeing at the water now and then. No matter how much the stars and the moon had make it look beautiful, more appealing Red hated water. The silver water was just like a siren, beckoning him to come in. But he wasn't a love-blinded sailor. With this amusing thought he swished his long tail once behind him.
He looked down at the fine sands then behind him, seeing the imprints of his paws lining up behind him. They appeared dark with their edges lined with the silver moonlight giving them some kind of a serene but icy appearance. He moved his head forwards again, his large ears twitched and heard nothing but the soft advancing and retreating movements of the waves against the beach and cliffs. Then a gentle humming sound came to his ears. Not very different to an insect but the sound was noticeable louder than what the bugs would make. Curious with his brows furrowed, Red followed the noise.
Soon he could scent something other than the familiar salty tang of the sea. A female wolf. Sure enough there she was; sitting on the sand peacefully. But, oddly, there were also scents of many plants. Some of them he could identify but some he didn't know. The figure was tall, almost matching him in height and slim. Her coat appeared refined by the ghostly lights of the moon, was coloured deep, rich black. She sat there so still that he almost thought she was a statue of some kind until she moved around to her back then front again. Curious, he moved forwards and soon it became apparent that she was a kukkien. No, more like a kukkien hybrid for that most kukkien were pretty short and stout and she certainly wasn't that. There was a few traits of sennyo here and there around her.
Upon a short moment of close inspection he became increasingly interested in the flowers that trail along her back. Some of them he recognised and, however, there were also some that he hadn't seen before. He saw a moonflower which had blossomed already under the moon. He moved closer until he was a metre or so away from her, with a clear view of the flowers that grace her appearance. Red's soft brown eyes glanced up at the bleeding hearts once before laying his gaze on the stranger's blue eyes. "Excuse me. I hope I'm not interrupting anything" His eyes darted at a lone flower at her paws then back to her white freckled face and smiled. "I saw you and your flowers..." He paused for a moment. This lupus didn't want to creep this wolf out. "And, well, there are a few flowers I haven't seen before upon your back." He shut his mouth once again to think then: "Would you mind if I ask what are they?"
Using a formal tone was an annoying habit of his. But the wolf was ignorant to this. In fact, he did not know when, or even how, to relax his tone. He was raised to be polite and wasn't taught how to mix with other wolves so he didn't know when to be formal and when to be informal. But if he knew, it wouldn't matter as if he get something then whatever he might have done to reach his goal wouldn't matter.
No matter how beautiful the hybrid appeared, Red was oblivious to it. In fact he wouldn't approach her at all if there weren't any flowers on her back. He liked to avoid wolves whenever he could; to him they were just silly beings that wanted to have everything. There was only a few wolves that he had met he found pleasant. Perhaps this hybrid would exceed this difficult lupus's expectations like those wolves, or perhaps not.

Avani's eyes snapped open at the sound of a males voice. She immediately got to her feet and backed up ears flat against her head, her body low to the ground in a submissive pose terrified the male was out to hurt her. But when she heard his question she straightened herself up, his tone was formal but had a hint of curiousity in it when he asked about her flowers. For a moment she studied the male starting at his paws going up his face lingering on his odd red markings that singled him out as a lupus, but what kind she did not know.
Determined to keep her vow she did not speak. She stayed silent but didn't want to be rude to the male so somehow shed get him to understand that she didn't speak. So she opened her mouth and shook her head thinking that maybe that would work. She wasn't sure what to do next but she'd figure it out. She always knew that doing this would make things difficult but it would ensure that she never spoke words that would cause pain or not be the right ones.
She moved on to the next part of his question and since she couldn't tell him what they were she decided that maybe he'd like a better view. Lowering her wings to her side to reveal the many flowers and vines that grew in her silky fur. She would not let him get closer since flowers were something to be viewed from afar too delicate to be played with. She smiled, raising her wings once more shielding some of the flowers on her back from view. Before sitting down once again with her long tail wrapped around her paws awaiting the question that was sure to come from him.

Well, another hybrid once surprised him by her sadistic nature but he didn't like that so he dismissed that. This lupus had trained himself, taught himself how to read others' body language almost accurately and allowed his mind to open wide, allowing various possibilities related to a wolf (past, their reactions or even the way they behave) to enter his mind, and allowed himself to expect everything and anything. He also had sharpened his sense of judgment. Those were the reasons why Red would say he was impossible to shock. This female in front of him, judging from how relaxed she appeared, he thought that she was seeking for peace and quiet, enjoying the serene atmosphere of the cove
But for the next reaction, the lupus retreated slightly, twitched his ears sharply and his brows knitted together, curious for the reason of her sudden reaction. Did he approach wrong? No, he didn't think so. He had came up to her calmly and curiously. But there must be something else... He soon came to the conclusion that something must had happened to her in the past. It seemed likely but he wasn't sure until she confirmed it. He exhaled, not realising that he had held his breath at her frightened pose, when she visibly relaxed. His off-white coat tingled as he felt her sky blue eyes on him, observing him up and down. Behind him, his red-tipped tail twitched self-consciously.
His interest increased ten-fold when she remained silent. Hm? He felt his pride being offended but he refused to show it. Why wouldn't she talk to him? Wasn't it clear that he meant her no harm?! His irritated questions stopped passing through his mind as she opened her mouth before shaking her head. Red squinted thoughtfully at her; shaking obviously meant no but what was the reason of mouth opening? Mouth was used for eating, drinking and communicating...! Ah, so she couldn't talk. He came to that after thinking a wolf couldn't not eat or drink. He started to grit his teeth; it was a disappointment so far. He couldn't talk normally to this mute wolf so... how would he find out more about those plants? He sniffed and began to play with the idea of leaving her alone when the hybrid stranger lowered her delicate wings.
The poison lupus hadn't noticed those beautiful wings. They resembled the dark-winged damselflies, and under the moonlight they shone like an obsidian. He found himself staring at the fragile veins and sheets of the wings before shaking his head and returned his attention to the flowers. Whenever he took a step closer she took a step backwards. Frowning, he soon realised that whatever he might do to get closer she would avoid him. Then realisation lightened his brown eyes; she treasured those plants so she won't trust him to be any closer to her babies. Smiling at her tender care, Red shook his head; "I won't touch them." He craned his neck forwards so that he could see the plants better. There were more bleeding hearts drooping all over her mane, lilies and many more. But there was one that captured his eyes; the great, spiky orange flower which reminded him of a sunset. Now what was that? Then with a dry chuckle, Red knew he won't get a straight answer so he left the question for now. "Thanks for this and I'm Red." He bobbed his head once; "Can you tell me your name?" Maybe she could, maybe she couldn't; whichever it might be, he would have to wait and see.

ooc: Hope I can pop in, if not just let me know and I can remove the post.
Night time, it had taken him all day to wander through that detestable swamp and to reach the ocean. Of course Banshee had only followed his nose to find the great waters his poppa had talked about, that had been Scorch’s first mistake for any wondrous story surely merited exploration. The little pup walked along the sand eager to reach the water’s edge and take a drink for he was parched from his long walk. His little paws, which seemed large for his small frame, left tiny imprints in the soft ground as he moved. The light of the moon emphasized the silver gleam of the jagged stripes that covered his face and ran along his back and down to the tip of his tail.
And finally he saw it, the giant moving body of water that reflected the stars above and looked like a deep blue moving gem to the pup. Such beauty would taste wonderful on his dry tongue and he skipped to the edge, placing a paw in the water. The liquid was not as warm as the Clear-Eyed Pool, and he gave a little jump and the cold feeling of it against his hot fur. Intent on drinking from the vaste body of water he scrunched his face up and moved deeper, bending down to lap hungrily at the waves.
What was this!? The overwhelmingly salty taste burned his tongue and made him wretch in revulsion, something was horribly wrong with the water! Spitting the vile substance out Banshee yipped sharply in misery. Not only was his tongue still dry but now his tummy felt icky too. Trudging out of the tides he moved onto dry land, his small shoulders drooping in defeat. He was hungry, thirsty and tired and his mommy was nowhere to be seen. Moving along he walked away from the ocean and up what felt like a giant bank and into long grass that was still warm from the resting sun’s rays.
He was about to curl up and go to sleep with an empty belly and a lonely heart when he heard the sound of a male voice none too far away. Poppa? He sat up and cocked his head to the side, listening intently, nope, it was not his dad but maybe he knew where to find him? Slinking along he tried to stealthily make his way through the grass, peering through the long strands to stare at a peculiar sight. Down by the water a pair of wolves sat talking, well only one of them was saying anything, and the pup took note of the plants that grew along the back of the smaller wolf. Smiling mischievously Banshee thought it might be a good idea to steal one and bring it to his sister.
But first he had to get down there without being seen and so he took a couple of well placed steps down the steep embankment. However it was the woe of the young to have oddly sized limbs and poor balance for he soon fell and rolled his way over to the pair. Coming to a halt he untangled himself, spitting out the hateful grains of sand and glaring at the pair for not having prevented the fall. It was their fault he had come down in the first place!

"Speaking" OOC: Is it okay if I post too? Banshee and Tearen are pretty much inseparable, but if it disturbs the plot, I'll delete this post with haste. :.)
"Banshee! Banshee! Where are you?" Tearen called, his silver eyes filled with worry and despair: Where was his big brother? He'd met him in the swamp, then lost him on his way when Tearen had stopped to sniff out a large tree on the way. He had thought his brother saw him stop, but obviously not. His navy fur matched the night sky oh so very well, and the silvers specks in his won pelt were the same brilliance as the stars, or in his eyes. He blended in very well with the night, well camouflaged against the night sky, the moon casting his rather thin and gangly figure in a silver light as he frantically ran up and down the beach, tripping every so often to land with an annoyed "oomf!".
He stood up for the hundredth time and let out a little lonely howl: He was tired, and panted heavily, yawning. His family was far away by now, and he couldn't find his brother, but he wouldn't leave without him. At first, he'd just said to himself that he'd meet Banshee there, but then after the initial excitement of seeing the sea, he'd became afraid and worried. What would his poppa or momma do now? He thought to himself.
He climbed atop one of the many dunes, and although wanted to stop, knew he had to keep searching... His steps became slower and slower, until he heard a scuffle nearby: His ears perked, and he gave a small grin. "Banshee?" he whispered into the night, but no reply came. He crouched low, and slinked further, ears cocked, eyes wide. "Banshee? Is that you?" he asked again in a hushed voice. He smelled him now, and excitement made his ears perk, his steps picking up pace as he bounded after the familiar smell. He finally came to a stop, and saw his brother tumble down before two strangers.
He gave a small growl: Who were they? What were they doing?maybe Banshee was in trouble? He rushed down to the rescue, and as any pup, tumbled on his too long legs and two large puppy paws, coming to rest a little behind his brother. He stood up, and stiffened, his eyes suspicious: He went up to Banshee, and gave him a small nudge of affection, which was rare for the pup. Even with his family, he almost never showed much affection, but this was because he was so relieved to find his brother. "Who are you two?" he growled out, in a crouch, his tail twitching.
While he wanted to seem menacing, he really looked like a cute bundle of long fur, almost playful.

Avani thought for a moment, how was she going to tell him her name? Then it hit her, she could draw it in the sand! She smiled at him then placed her paw in the sand drawing an A followed by VANI when she finished she backed up so that he could get a better look. But it wasn't long before two noises hit her ears and what looked like a ball of dark fur come tumbling down the hill to land in front of her. It appeared to be a little pup, quickly looking around for signs of his mother or father but was interupted in her search when another pup came running after the other. She figured it must be the first pups brother. They both were really cute but unfortunately she couldn't answer the silvery ones question.
She somehow had to figure out where they came from and get them back before their parents worried and came looking for them. She looked to Red hoping hed ask where they had come from so that they could return them. She just hoped the parents wouldn't be angry or think theyd stolen them. Taking a few steps toward Red so that she stood beside him rather than in front of him but still far enough so that she was comfortable as she waited for his response to the pups question.

She must be thinking how to tell her name to him. He sat down with his eyes still glued on that odd orange flower for a long moment before returning his attention back to the female's freckled face. He merely twitched his ears when she smiled at him. She must had found the way to introduce herself. The movement of her delicate paw caught his attention and he soon saw the name forming in the sand. A-V-A-N-I. Nice and simple way to introduce herself. He smiled politely; "Avani. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He nodded his head once again. Avani. A such elegant name, perfectly suited to her refined appearance. Now that his interest in the plants upon her back was satisfied, Red started to look at the wolf herself. Her coat was deep black, shining with the rays of the moonlight, sprinkled with white freckles. It was as if she was the night sky, with her shining dark coat and white 'stars'. Her wings had completed the rich nature of her appearance. The exotic colours of her plants gave an air of wildness around her. The paleness of her eyes resembled the day sky. She was rather beautiful, he thought.
The quick observation was so rudely interrupted by the tumbling sounds behind them. Alert, Red whipped around and saw two balls of fluff growing even bigger as he heard them hissing at the two wolves. He stifled an exasperated sigh; puppies. They were good for nothing except to make troubles. They were some kind of parasites; they take things and give nothing back until they were grown up. Most of food that could provide to someone more useful was often given to those children, and most of energy were wasted on them when they could be used for better things. He wrinkled his muzzle when he heard one of them demanded for their names. Who the hell did he think he was? He turned his head away from the speckled fluffy ball pointedly with a small disgruntled sound in his throat, refusing to answer straight-away. He had better things to do than being bossed around by a couple of pups.
He would leave the area immediately but he didn't want to leave this gorgeous female under the mercy of those two troubles. He delayed his reply for longer before finally retorting: "Who are you two?" Red stood up, stretching into his full height and his fur fluffed out with his tail standing up straight. At his full height, this lupus was capable of appearing dominating and intimidating. He did not intend to harm those puppies but just to frighten them into understanding that they could not boss other wolves around. Especially not to those who could be deadly. Instinctively, he felt his poison pulsing through his body down to his paws and muzzle.
"Shouldn't you be at home at this time? He narrowed his eyes. Like Avani, he did not want to get in trouble with their parents. Again he had better things to do than getting scolded by their parents for 'kidnapping' their babies. Puppies were good at only thing; wasting others time and getting them in trouble in process. And Red wasn't in the mood to be lovely to them like he normally would. |

Banshee stared up at the two wolves, the pair a curious sight to behold for the pup. His gaze intensified as he noted the flowers on the wolf's back, he like flowers, they made funny colors when he squished them together. Maybe the flower wolf would let him play with her flowers? Cocking his head to the side he got up and slinked around the white wolf to get a better view, yes, very pretty flowers, the better to squish. Smiling in satisfaction Banshee finally decided to address the red marked one. Frankly he did not like that one, didn't he know who he was?
He was about to inform the silly male that he was terribly ignorant when his brother came tumbling down the hill after him...It kinda reminded him of a rhyme that his momma had told him about Jack and Jill who fell down the hill and were eaten by the mafia. Giggling the genetic darkness in his laugh was eerie to behold for one as young as himself, but none the less it echoed out loud and strong. "Ello Tearen, wondered where you had gone, I see the marsh monster did not get you after all." He gave his brother an affectionate nuzzle before returning to the other pair.
They were a silly looking lot, one with her flowers and the other with his odd markings, whatever was Banshee to do with them? Adults were such a pain sometimes, except when they brought him food. Maybe these ones had food? "We are Tearen and Banshee for your information and we are big enough to not be at home. Who are you?” Banshee puffed his chest out, standing as straight as one could for being a pup. His little spiel had not done much to provide the other wolf with information, but in his young mind this was not an issue.
“We are here to conquer this beach for now it surely is ours.” The older wolves could not deny it in Banshee’s mind; for they were Mafia heirs and no one denied them anything. Naturally he had forgotten to mention this little fact; it had conveniently slipped his mind. Marching about he surveyed the two wolves as a general would when inspecting his troops, his little paws leaving tiny footprints in the sand. They would make fine prisoners indeed, now if only Banshee could get them to come home with him. That way he would not have to be babysat by that awful nanny prisoner who seemed to be getting fatter as the days pushed on. Maybe his momma and poppa should not have been giving her so much to eat, he reasoned.
