It was as if he was expecting something, or someone. Someone innocent but trespassing. He was searching for some kind of excitement, something that would send some adrenaline rush into him. Scorch had promoted him from a solider to an enforcer. And he thought it would come with adrenaline-filled violence but... nothing. It had been a quiet few days since the fight. He could still see the wounds, rich red in colour and shining with bodily liquids. He felt odd with those areas especially the exposed area where his ear had been. They would never heal and the flesh would never grow back. He would cope just fine with scratches, bitemarks and gashes but a gaping area on the side of his head... Once again he felt a white hot anger filling him. Thana. Her visible mark would stick with him forever.
That... that bitch! She won the fight too. How? How though?! He could barely remember him attacking her viciously at the very end but... She won! Ajax looked at his paws and, with an angry hiss, he clawed at the rainforest ground, leaving some very obvious lines on the dirt. There was a sneer upon his lips when he imagined Thana's ugly black face behind those lines. With the image he could almost hear her blood-curdling cries and he started to snicker. Next time they meet he knew he would not be able to contain his old anger and hatred towards mortuis now that she bested him in that fight. It would be the time that he wiped her filthy life off the face of the world.

Scorch himself was not above regular patrols, and since the festival matters had been quiet around the jungle except for his son's frequent escapades. The thought that something could occur to the devilish pair while they were out exploring chilled the Don to the bones, his sons were his future and his eternal hold on the pack. If they perished the Donna would no doubt be grief stricken and Scorch would a part of the fire in his heart die. They were the future, and the future had to be protected at all costs even if it meant sparing the lives of a couple pack mates.
Naturally this lack of activity caused a persistently growing sense of restlessness in his soul, and such a matter never resulted in a positive outcome. Shallot had been a perfect example of this during his last bout of restlessness. A cold smile graced his maw, drawing an eerie light to his eyes and transforming his starch commanding face into that of a demented powerful ruler that cared very little for the consequences of his actions, not entirely a false impression. As he neared the boarders along the Gambit Trails he caught the distinct rotting smell of a mortui, and through the revolting scent picked up a more distinct scent unique to Ajax, his new enforcer. Pleased that the male was taking his new position seriously he slinked off into the shadows to catch up with the male.
Finally seeing the distorted shape of his Enforcer Scorch materialized from the dark comforts of the jungle's shadows and cleared his voice, announcing his presence to the male. His voice ran out with amicability only reserved for those that had earned it, "Good day Ajax, it pleases me to see you guarding the borders of the jungle. Sadly many wolves are too fearful of the jungle to venture near it, it can make for a dull day." He made a moue, his face showing that he knew all too well the boredom that came from watching such a feared pack, without taking into account his latest escapade of course.

Soon Ajax began to create the horrendous pictures in his mind. Oh, the ways to torture her were so ... pleasurable. In the end, he would get her, no matter how he get himself there. She would cower at his paws, whining for a mercy while the white mortui strike and strike and strike again. Unwittingly a long but satisfying chuckle escaped his maw and, as soon as he reached his senses, he resolved that it would have to happen. Almost immediately, he realised that he hated the female mortui much more than his own brother, surprisingly. He actually thought Thanatos would be at the very top of his hate list but no. It was odd. An odd feeling, since for most of his life he was driven by the hatred he nurtured for his brother. Now, that it had switched to another wolf, he felt it was as if the world had shifted beneath his paws. But, unfortunately for Thanatos, Ajax still felt the same desire to avenge the deaths of their family.
He heard the soft falls of paws behind him and a voice followed almost instantaneously. Instinctively he glanced around at the Don and flattened his ears against his weakened skull. But this submissive pose slackened when he heard no dominance in this red-black lupus's voice. In fact there was... friendliness instead of what he had expected. This unnerved him as he wasn't used to the advantages of being one of the higher ranked wolves. But, judging from his powerful appearance, Ajax had never thought that this Don would show any display of friendliness towards wolves that weren't close to him. Unless they deserved it perhaps. But did he? He lost, didn't he? As he remembered, he felt a stab of rage which he quickly shook it off. He didn't want to appear aggressive in front of Scorch now that he considered him a worthy wolf.
With an uncertain smile he spoke: "Yes, Don." He did not know what to say for that he was afraid of losing the respect the Don' had for him. But there was a ring of truth in Scorch's words, those days were pretty dull. Perhaps they could stir up some troubles or something between the packs? Now that would certainly make the days more exciting. Ajax wanted to mention this idea but he was afraid of what the dark lupus might think of this idea. So, instead, he just said: "Should we do something about it?"

Scorch looked upon the mortui, slightly unnerved by the wolf's immediate submission and yet all at the same time insanely pleased. He adored the fact that he held superiority over so many, it was an addictive matter indeed and his mind was already plotting further actions that would increase his ranking among the different packs. The suggestive question that Ajax presented brought an incredibly spiteful smile to his face, it would give the Don pleasure to instill discord and create havoc among other weak packs and he was already considering this new venue of interest.
Chuckling deeply he said, "That's what I like about you Ajax, you have the same delightfully devious mine as my own, you just need to trust it more." Sinister in nature the sound rang out, he wanted utter most confidence from his members and Thana had demonstrated more confidence during her fight and a desire to surpass the limits of evil and reinvent the definition of dastardly. But the Don knew full well the potential to be a true damned killer lived in Ajax, he just needed to stoke the fire and bring it out. "Very well, and what do you propose? I believe we have been letting those petty excuses for pack divulge too much in their false sense of security, it is time the Mafia made a couple visits when they least suspect it; winter. We will show them what great house guests we truly make."
His chuckle turned into maniac laughter as he sneered, his pack members would not enjoy the cold, but neighboring packs would not expect a blow in the hardest time of the year. The question was whom would receive the pleasure of the first visit? His eye had begun to roam across the canyons, and he had a mind to send a scout out to check the area. A killer blow to a weak pack would be greatly amusing, whom could withstand the mafia's uncontrollable strength? "It behooves me to think that a couple scouts would be beneficial to this plight, perhaps you might be in charge of gathering this information? You can send out whom you please, as long as the information is properly gathered, might I suggest conversing with Daedalus and Hysteria on the matter? I will expect full reports from you of course, but otherwise do as you please." It was a start and he was instilling faith in his Enforcer, if he failed the consequences could become dire, but Scorch doubted such an issue would arise, the mortui was Enforcer for a reason.

Perhaps he should mention his initial idea earlier, now it appeared that Scorch would like to stir up some troubles for another pack. That very idea had been growing in his head for those few days of silence. But now it was becoming a reality and this put an amused smile on his decaying face. It was becoming a reality thanks to this Don. He had never once consider the possibility of him liking his idea; Scorch was too intimidating for him to even suggest. Now that he approved it, Ajax found out that this darker wolf wasn't as picky as he had expected. In fact, just like what he said, their ideas were rather alike. But he needed to trust it? No. Of course not! He felt like laughing at his words but, of course, he refrained from doing it. Ajax knew he trusted his own ideas but he did not think Scorch would like it. In fact he was afraid of having the Don laughing at him in the face.
His red eyes widened as he asked him for more suggestions. "Um. I- I'm thinking perhaps we could..." He closed his mouth shut as he saw the lupus was starting to speak again. It actually did make sense to attack other packs in the winter. It was the best season to spring a surprise blow to any of the packs. Winter often meant many weakened packs due to lack of warmth, food and enthusiasm. The Mafia, Ajax knew was also affected but not as badly as they were expected to be stronger than those pack wolves, both physically and mentally. They could push themselves beyond their limit and that was what made this pack dangerous. Besides the jungle wasn't as chilly as some areas so they were still able to attain some of their vigorous energy they usually had during warmer seasons.
His ears went forwards and he nodded solemnly at the Don's command. He would do it, of course, in another attempt to prove himself to him. He, being a mortui, was rather useless physically so he wanted to make it up by showing Scorch that he wasn't wholly useless. Do as he pleased? A sneer crept up to his face. Brilliant! He could order those two wolves to do whatever he wanted. But he had to use his logic too. Despite how much he wanted to, he couldn't just order them to attack his brother. It would require some intensive tracking and deadly skills to slain him. Besides he wanted to do it himself. Now... About this plan. He needed both wolves but he thought telling Daedalus first would be better as he didn't really like Hysteria's demeanour. She unnerved him. He would leave her for last or have Daedalus to tell her to avoid talking to her face to face. Right. Daedalus first, it is then. He sent up a scratchy howl, summoning the brainy sennyo before glancing at Scorch. Was this alright? He wasn't comfortable with commanding with the Don around when it was supposed to be him.

"Speaking" Daedalus heard the call go out, the sound oddly raspy for a wolf and he could not help but wish it was some poor unfortunate wretch that knew he could serve a better purpose in life by spending his last living moments as Daedalus’ new test subject. In fact the thought was a rather joyous one and brought a devilish glint to his eyes, what fortunate luck was hi to have been summoned by such a miserable fellow. Prancing through the forest his long and graceful limbs nimbly helped him to move through the dense vegetation, following the call to the Gambit Trail as his antennas bobbed merrily, casting his face in an alerting odd yellow glow.
His beautiful black, green, blue and yellow wings fluttered along his back, betraying his joy and his mouth hung partially open in a grin, pointed small fangs bared to the world. He had not seen Rache of late, good the pup sure was busy, and perhaps if he found her along the way he could show her how grand it felt to test on a live wolf subject. Little did he know it was only the sound of a rotting mortui calling him to action and not a dying wolf on its lasts breaths. Either way it would give the highly intelligent sennyo something with which to fill his time.
Prancing into the small clearing he quickly noted with disappointment that there was no dying wolf available, only the mortui and his beloved Don. Daedalus considered himself to be different than the Don, their methods were opposing, but all the same he recognized the intelligence in the fire lupus that also lived within the sennyo. The mortui on the other hand was not his preferred companion of choice, simply stated they were not beautiful creatures and Daedalus had long ago lost interest in studying them. As they were the undead they had first begun to interest him in his youth, but after elaborate study he had decided that as they did not feel pain they had no real significance for his research and had proceeded to terminate his study of the species.
But it was this one, what was his name again? Ah yes, Daedalus thought, Ajax, the fellow who had partaken in the little tournament. His blue and his green eye both focused on the Don, his rank was more of importance to the sennyo and Daedalus gave a sweeping bow of graceful agility to his superior. “Good day Don, I hope the season finds you in prime spirits. I have seen your perfect sons wandering about of late, my but they do grow fast. It is a wonder not all are clamouring to sweep them away, I can only imagine what great leaders they will one day make.” A charming smile broke upon his maw, he was a gentleman of good grace until one dug deeper past this excellent façade. Turning to Ajax with considerably less ceremony he said dryly, “You called good sir?” Curiosity sparked in his eyes, what could the rotting undead wolf possibly want from him? Perhaps a dose of good cheer, he thought with amusement, the fellow seemed like he could use some.

Scorch gave the mortui an approving nod, it was time the wolf learned to take charge and own up to his rank for Scorch would not tolerate push overs in his pack. Naturally he knew the mortui was no such thing, but he wanted to bring out the finer qualities of his person that had only become evident to Don while he watched the tournament. Ajax needed to learn that Scorch needed to see the fierce killer intentions, cruel merriment, devil be damned attitude and demonic hunger reflected from his own heart in that of the mafia representatives. He felt great elation in knowing that he shared his territory with true kin folk, dangerous wolves that could never settle for second rate, cared only for their well-being and that of the pack, despised the horrid weakness that some wolves displayed and desired to relentlessly rid to world of these weak individuals.
The arrival of the oddly friendly sennyo brought a twitch of a grin to Scorch’s maw, he did not necessarily understand the bloke, but something in him was easily likeable. All the same, Daedalus was not yet one of his few trusted wolves thought if he properly succeeded this next mission he would be on his way to achieving it. In fact, Scorch was rather glad Ajax had chosen the sennyo, the Don wanted to test the male wolf’s knowledge and skills for he too would have to prove himself worthy of upholding this rank. Specialist had seemed excellently chosen for the lithe blue wolf, from the Donna he had heard this wolf boasted an assortment of specialized skills that would be useful for what Ajax had in mind.
Voice ringing out firmly he said, “Yes, they certainly will and all the mafia will be lucky to serve under them when their time comes.” He left his words at that and gave the mortui a glance that said get on with the matter, after all as Don he had a lot with which to occupy his time. From this point on the mortui would be able to handle the matter on his own, but first Scorch wanted to see how he handled giving orders in accordance with each member’s personality.

The mortui grew nervous as each second that passed. What if he hadn't called properly? What if Daedalus refused to come? What if he couldn't do it? What if he messed up his command? Many 'what if's passed through his mind frantically but he had no answer for each one. What was more important was this Scorch. He was standing in front of him, silently judging his ability to be an enforcer. Ajax could not afford to mess this up or else he would be sorry. No, he wasn't afraid of pain or dying but afraid of shaming this Don. The white wolf respected the leader far too much to cause him any humiliation. He started to pant frantically as the nervousness began to infect his common sense.
No one could know how relieved he was when he saw a familiar blue-ish hue of Daedalus's coat. He saw him move gracefully towards the Don and, as expected, bowed. Ajax watched him, his panting started to diminish, and wonder what normally go through the odd mind of this sennyo. Daedalus was a such intelligent beast but what had exactly made his mind more superior than most? The Don was clever, yes but not as this wolf. His mind must be only open to the facts whereas the lupus's was open to ideas. He shrugged; a mind of a wolf was a such odd thing and he would rather to leave this thought for the sennyo to work out. Ajax saw Daedalus turn to him and spoke in an unexpected tone. This somewhat offended him; he didn't care because he himself wasn't used with the rank yet, but he cared because his dismissive manner wouldn't make him look good in front of Scorch.
He huffed slightly and moved closer to Daedalus. "Our Don and I have been talking." He left it at that lingering in the air for a short while, giving the wolf a moment to guess what they had discussed. "And we have decided to make the Mafia a something to be feared." He narrowed his blood-red eyes and continued: "So we wanted you to go and fetch some information on other packs that we could use. Your skills, I believe, will come to be useful in this mission." There was a hint of a smirk on his lips when he stopped talking. It might appear that he was laughing inwardly at the thought of shocking other packs but he was actually thinking. Thinking of which pack to start terrorising. The Empire wouldn't be great for a few of obvious reasons, and the Styrrstdar Cadre wouldn't be great either with its fighters. Now... Either the Enclave or the Children... He purposely left out the Accord because he thought they were too easy and he decided to leave it for the last. The Enclave was far north so it would be silly to drain the sennyo's energy before he had even started. That left the Children. Eh, it made sense really with its friendly members and a leader in his old age. "You will go to the Children of the Hvítur Ári and gather information for the Mafia." Ajax glared at Daedalus, daring him to challenge his command.

"Speaking" Daedalus watched the mortui with incredibly shrewd eyes, analyzing all the data being thrown his way. The Don had done the bare minimum to reply and had left the floor open for this disturbing looking individual to state his case. This could only mean the Don was entirely supportive of the plight which seemed to indicate that indirectly this was an order from the Don. Fluttering his wings he gave a sigh, the cold would not be a pleasant circumstance to deal with, but the task at hand was ridiculously easy and would not require all that much of the sennyo's precious time.
Tilting his head up at an angle he raised a brow, pretending to actually debate the manner. A tiny frozen smile was woven onto his maw, it would figure they might require his skills and as far as the periwinkle blue male was concerned Ajax was coming to him with no one more suitable to accept the mission at hand. This pleased the sennyo greatly, for it meant in many ways the Enforcer was at his mercy. Distorted logic perhaps, but entirely predictable for the sennyo. Huffing he straightened his body up and gazed calmly at the rotting figure, "Oh I suppose I could help you both with this small feat, really but a trifle matter and you shall have all the information you need in a hop and skip." His eyes seemed to laugh at the mortui, he could not physically fight the repulsive wolf, but he could infiltrate the darkest emotions of his heart, plunging him into the most abysmal depths of despair and elevating him to an almost suicidal frenetic sense of powerfulness.
With a simple alterations Daedalus could quite easily weave a massive lie of emotions and disturb this wolf's sanity without lifting a paw, and this quiet yet deadly power made him a force to be reckoned with in his own right. Naturally the mortui would have to find Daedalus were he to actually seek to harm him, the sennyo's invisibility made him a tad bit more difficult to track and his knowledge made for a razor sharp weapon on its own. But the sennyo remained quiet, keeping this small treasure of information to himself with but an eerie glint in his eye to betray the true power he guarded within his body.
Cheerily enough he added, "I shall set out at once, no use in wasting time is there? Sit around too long and it might not be surprising to find our brains rotting away in the empty abyss of inactivity." Daedalus gave a small chuckle that came out sounding almost like a disturbing giggle. His small mockery of the mortui's undead state may have gone unnoticed for its subtleness, but Daedalus was of the opinion it might be noted. He did not enjoy being ordered around, with the small exception being awarded to the Don and Donna. The disquieting smile he gave Ajax would have caused uneasiness in e even the more darker of wolves and the smug spark in his eye read that he knew very well how to handle himself without physical power.

The Don sat watching the small battle of wills occurring between his Specialist and his Enforcer. By nature the ranks were opposites, one relied on brute force, stark reality and what had already been proved as effective where as the other relied on intense cunning and diving into untraditional methods to resolve issues. Both were critical aspects of the Mafia; however one seldom understood the other and this left room for disputes. Scorch himself would allow a spat to progress only so far, in fact he did not tolerate large disputes among members for it created a weak thread in the fabric of the mafia’s power. He smiled as he watched this silent battle of wills, knowing the fact that the sennyo had to accept the order no matter his dislike of it amused Scorch, and Daedalus’ sharp replies and proud mannerisms were tolerable antidotes to orders.
He smiled heartedly at Ajax, the mortui was doing well up to date though some other members would not take orders as well as the sennyo had chosen to, Ajax would need a severe and firm stand to deal with them. All in good time, the Don reckoned, for now he would be content to observe his subjects from the comforting darkness of the jungle shadows. In all honesty he was more of an Enforcer type himself, but he had a certain appreciation for the disturbing alertness in individuals that prided themselves in their intelligence. As long as all submitted to his will it was the same to him, and so far all had followed his orders and demands without much cause for trouble. A pity really for he hoped to have at least one subject to make an example of, the Don hated to be viewed as all talk and no action.
A chilling smile spread along his maw, sharp fangs appearing stark and brilliant against his black and blood red pelt as he decided it might be a good idea to track down some old members and demonstrate to the new what leaving the mafia might result in as a consequence. Eye alighting he let his mind drift to the beautiful screams of terror and the pleading that might ensue, yes it was time to work contacts and find a cowardly wolf on which to vent his pent up anger. Scorch was by nature an angry fellow, he had been and always would be prone to being subject to violent fits of rage that would erupt from the consistent flames that licked at his soul every waking hour of his existence. As Don he had needed to learn how to control and use this anger to his advantage, but even so the violent force called for release and would work his resolve to a thin sheet.
This attack on other packs would allow him to relax and finally enjoy the taste of his opponent’s blood and permit his hungry eyes to witness pain and terror that would result from their unpredictable spree of killing. Scorch was not seeking to conquer, he was seeking to instill fear so that other packs would eventually ply under his demands at the slightest of his whims for fear of losing pack members to Scorch’s mercenaries. Turning to Ajax he said gleefully, “The objective is not to conquer dear Enforcer, but merely create a sense of terror and panic that will result in the alphas of their packs plying to any of my future demands. How would you like to have an extensive choice of females at your disposal? To know that none might dare defy your presence for fear of retribution from the mafia?” He chucked darkly, he knew he would enjoy the matter greatly. “And Daedalus, I have heard of your appreciation for beauty, would you not enjoy having a wide range of subjects at your disposal for testing?” He knew the temptations would be too great and that it would be difficult to resist the promises, already saliva had formed in Scorch’s mouth at the thought of all the power that awaited him.
