Kalla sighed. She had been swimming along this coast for a while now, searching for some way up the cliffs that surrounds the cove she was in. Every time she find a little path up, there was no way she could climb it herself, with her clumsy feet. She didn't know the name of it yet, because she was a stranger to these parts.Kalla had run away from her pack last fall after it had fallen apart with false words and betrayal. She had been traveling for a half a day now and was exhausted. She had been wandering for half the day now, searching for a way up and out of the cove. Weak from exhaustion, she fell upon the sand, keeping away from the water. She didn't want to be bothered right now. Kalla's face was twisted with frustration. She was too tired to go around the entire coast. "Well, I guess I'll have to go up through one of those paths..." Kalla got up again. If she was going to attempt to climb up the cliff side, she's going to need some extra strength.Kalla searched the waters surface, looking for any signs of flying fish. She saw none, but no sooner did she give up, did the sweet scent of jackalope drift to her nose. Kalla pricked her blue tinted ears and sniffed the air eagerly. She spotted the jackalope sifting through the sand dunes. 'Good thing I'm upwind' Kalla thought. She crept up slowly, making sure to make no sounds. The jackalope has not detected her.Kalla readied to pounce.

The sun was high in the sky, yet it wasn't too hot. A constant breeze riled up the high waters of the sea, which was spilling over onto the usually dry, white sand. For early Winter, however, it seemed like paradise for Aureia.
The female sat on shore in her cael form, due to the high waters forming about her paws. She sighed, her mind elsewhere. In all truth, this was how it usually was. Aureia, a slightly small wolf with blue-yellow markings, day dreaming about her past constantly. Still, she couldn't help it. In her mind, grief was never a thing to shed. Especially when it was over a true love, a forever mate killed right in front of your eyes.
Mikao, she called him in her thoughts.
So many times she wished she could just see him over the horizon, standing there staring like he usually did back then. A slight smirk on his maw as her looked her over, and gently motioned for her to follow him. Sneaking out, as usual, just to see each other.
But in their pack, true love was nonexistent to the other wolves. To them, if you loved, you were to be killed. Love was a weakness. A liability, at best. The females of the pack were only genetics, the best for the best.
Mikao was different.
She wished she could run to him, however the fact of the matter was he wasn't coming back. How she longed to see him again! To feel his hot breath on her pelt. The alluring scent of him--and just his particular being. A soft tear fell onto the already wet sand. And again, he wasn't coming back.
OOC// Sorry it's not very good. Also, sorry I was late replying. I wasn't very concentrated. ^^;;

Kalla was about to pounce, when a sudden shift of the unpredictable oceanic winds made the jackalope prick it's ears. Kalla tensed, ready to give chase. 'What...that can't be...The winds not in my direction?' She muttered in confusion. Finally, the nose that alerted the jackalope, drifted to Kalla's nose. She flinched.Another wolf?
While Kalla was distracted by the strange wolf scent, the Jackalope saw Kalla, and thinking her to be the owner, sprinted away.Kalla cursed silently. Looks like she'll have to find dinner elsewhere. She began sniffing the air some more, desperate to find more information about this stranger wolf. "Female..I think. Hmm, definitely a cael...in her water form.." Kalla sniffed more anxiously, needing to know when this wolf was here. Then, her eyes widened with fear. Just a little father down the beach, the she-wolf was basking in the sand! Kalla stalked quietly into the protection of the sand dunes.
As Kalla observed the she-wolf, she realized the stranger seemed to be in pain, though showed no physical injuries. Kalla began to worry, if the wolf was ill, then it could be dying right it front of her. Even though Kalla nearly never approaches a stranger, she longed to help the wolf in pain. Kalla had experienced death before, and did not wish to see again.
"Mother.....why?"

Never alone nowadays, Aur thought selfishly. No privacy in this Great Spirit forsaken place. Aur knew the female was there, though she couldn't tell if she was a cael or a lupus. Still, she was there observing. Aur sighed, as she'd been caught in her only weak time of the day--the day grieving Mikao.
"Aren't you at least going to come out and face me, Stranger," Aur called to the wolf. "You've been gawking long enough, I think." Aureia turned to face her, her golden gaze falling over the females. "So who might you be?" Aur asked, with the same cold look she gave everyone else.
Aureia supposed it would be better to tell the loner her name, as for welcome, but she didn't want to first. Aur was on a cautious line with her, as she didn't know her just yet. Besides, who in their right mind would tell someone their name if they've been spying on you, and you caught them? Not Aur, not right now.
Silently, she turned back around to face the ocean, waving her blue tail through the higher waters of the ocean. Gazing, once again, at the horizon for which she used to find her beloved Mikao.

Kalla flinched as the stranger called out to her. Kalla wanted to come out, but she wasn't sure if the wolf was being friendly or hostile. But she was right, it must be awkward for Kalla to just stare at her. So, Kalla mustered up her courage, and walked out from the protection of the dunes. Her muscles were tensed, in case this wolf meant any harm.
"My name is Kalla." Wondering if the this she-wolf was more familiar with the cove than she was, Kalla asked, "Where's the nearest path to get out of here?I've been wandering for hours now."
As Kalla waited for an answer, she saw into the cael's eyes. They seemed empty, and filled with sorrow. Kalla knew now why the wolf seemed hostile. She was going through pain. Not physically though. Kalla began to realize, this stranger may be more like her then she thought. Kalla been through pain in her heart too. During her travels, she had met wolves who also said she had an 'emptyness' in her eyes. Even though Kalla has recovered, she still feels hollow inside at times, the memory of mother seeming so far away. Kalla wondered what the cael was feeling inside. Did she experience death too?

The female stayed there for a few moments longer, still watching Aureia. Aur began to wonder if this wolf was just a figment of her imagination, as if she'd finally lost her mind. It wasn't too doubtful with what she'd endured.
About the time Aur was going to give up, the wolf, Kalla apparently, moved into full visibility. Her body were tense, something Aur was the one usually feeling.
Aur situated herself into the sandy waters, her rump now freezing from the act. She didn't care. Sighing, she looked around as she listened to Kalla's request. A way out? Aur looked out toward the way she'd come. "That way."
Kalla met her gaze, to which Aur instinctively returned. There was something familiar there, something close and caring. It seemed to tug at her hardened heart, and she suddenly felt a connection with Kalla, yet something she didn't understand. What possibly could this female have in common with her? Aur cocked her head, looking her over. She didn't seem the same, in fact a bit of the opposite. Still, the connection didn't look to fade.
Giving up to her feelings, she felt as if a load was lifted from her shoulders even if this stranger knew nothing about her. Her eyes warmed as she observed Kalla. Something about her that was familiar, and if she wasn't too sure, Aureia would say a reflection of herself. "Aureia. I am Aureia."

Harsh winter had found yet another place in its claim for territory. It was slowly closing in on the world around Douvin, tightening its frosty grip, and he could do nothing to stop it. The world was losing its color and life was beginning to become scarce. Here by the Yvit Cove, winter subjected the open land to a cold, stale chill.
"This is terrible," the old wolf started to complain. "Great Spirit above, what's the meaning of this season?" And so Douvin fixed his gaze to the skies, as if his answer would fall from it. Instead, an icy breeze rushed past his face, stinging his eyes and face, ultimately flustering him. When he regained himself, he scoured the beach with his eyes. Plants off in the distance were drooping. The sky was a pale whiteish, dead clouds obscuring the usual blue. "Yes...what is the meaning of this season?" But suddenly, the answer began to show itself like a swiftly blooming flower. "If I ever return here, this beach will be better. Everything will be much more alive. New blood, new plants, new minds. This place will die, like it always has. I suppose everything must die." And so, the old Yagi continued on his way.
After some time of walking, Douvin's ears honed in on a sound that presented itself louder than the stirring of the waves, the quickening breeze. A feeling began to run through him, one that had sat dormant for days. His blood began to rush, saliva slipped through his fangs, and the noises around him dulled. All of them, except for the small shifting sound of a Jackelope in the sands. His ears took the place of his failing eyes and zeroed in the placement of the rabbit. Jetting forward, Douvin's jaws snapped into open air as his prey took off running.
Digging his claws into the sand, Douvin quickly followed the small creature, his eyes squinted as sand threatened to invade them. Fear began to fill the Yagi's nostril's...but not just any fear. It was the sense of being surrounded wafting from the rabbit-beast. But why? Douvin would find out soon. As he shot forward for the kill, the Jackelope jumped over a fortress of rocks that blocked the view of the shallow shores, the very edge of the beach. Douvin caught a glimpse of creatures he thought were only in tales of legend.
"The...the Cael!" He saw two; their flashy tails, their lupine bodies. But only for a moment, becaus ehe didn't stop in time before his face collided with the rocks that littered the beach.

"Thank you Aure- huh? What was that?" Kalla pricked her ears when she heard a loud thud, breaking her from a trance of looking at Aureia and trying to figure how they were alike. She scanned the sandy beach for the source of the sound."I should probably move on...The next wolf I meet may not be so friendly."
Kalla thought for a moment.'Should I stay?Get to know aureia more? She doesn't seem THAT bad. She must get lonely out here, all alone, like I do.' Suddenly Kalla's mind flickered back to the sound again."You know Aureia, I feel like we're being watched.
Kalla felt anxious. If another wolf was watching them, what could they possibly want? What if it wasn't a wolf at all? Kalla didn't know if there were dragons here or not. She hasn't been here long enough to know, but there may be some kind of dangerous animal here.
The sweet smell of Jackalope drifted to Kalla's nostrils again. She looked around and found it hiding among rocks from the direction the noise came from. Her hunger urged her forward, desperate for a meal, but fear held her back."Well, let's go investigate that noise?" She asked Aureia, looking for some support.
