Aspen knocked his head on the entrance of their den trying to get out for some fresh air. The young male was aware of his rapidly growing form. He was about half the size of his father now. It made him proud but it also made him realize he was almost to big to be denning with three other Yagi's. He was especially too big for Juniper, who was the smallest of them. His horns had grown as well. The two nubs he had been born with had curled around his ears and thickened, turning dark gray and resembled ram horns. A few months ago two new nubs had begun to form just in front of his original ones. These now pointed strait, twisting like gazelle horns.
Sighing Aspen ducked his head and hauled himself out into the blinding white. Golden eyes flinched for a moment as they adjusted to the scene. Sunlight reflected off the snow making the landscape sparkle, which would have been beautiful if it didn't hurt so much. The other problem was there wasn't much else around but white. The brown and silver youth had explored much of his home land and was now very bored. It didn't help that his mind kept wandering back to that one occasion. The time he got lost and ended up on another packs land.
He had met two very different wolves, well pups, there. One, he could say, wasn't very pleasant at all. Haughty, stuck up, full of herself. Aspen had pride but he also knew when to be humble... um well at least be quite and keep his thoughts to himself.
The other he wouldn't mind seeing again. In fact he really wanted to see her again. The tri-colored Yagi pup had been friendly and helpful and all around really nice. And while his sisters were fun, it just wasn't the same. Her nice was a different type of nice than their nice.
Aspen sighed again. He really wished there was someone around to play with, or maybe to teach him how to hunt and fight. Ever sense his mother been injured there had been no adults really available for that. Of course he was worried about his mother, but she was one tough nut. After all, she was the Empress.
