YUEH The light sound of shifting pebbles filtered off into the night as large white paws eased over the sand. They had walked this land many a time before, but this time there was more caution in each step. A massive ablino frame would pause every so often, rounded audits moving feverishly to keep tabs on the sounds around them. Yueh had always come here, but more recently it had been claimed. Every-time he set paw onto the welcoming sands, it drew him closer to conflict. However the behemoth just couldn't stay away. Not only was this place a beacon of serenity, the Chief of the Children had something else on his mind. Or perhaps someone. The delicate white Whisp had lingered in his thoughts most frequently lately, and for some undeniable reason, the Keiyou hybrid was perhaps hoping to bump into her again. Her company was delightful, the hours they could spend together just talking. He was most comfortable around her, more comfortable than any other wolf as of late. It had pained him heavily to have seen her go, and he couldn't help but wonder if she was the 'One that got away.' These thoughts were suffocating the brute, causing his usually relaxed body to shake and heave with emotions he doubted he would ever feel again. Deciphering these emotions was the hardest part, and he hoped he would clear it all up soon. Nothing but the dark and dancing mists greeted him tonight, but Yueh was a master of patience. And even if she didn't show, perhaps Lake Amarenthyst would sweep him up and console him like she always did. word count ;; 275 tags ;; Swalleena ooc notes ;; musical inspiration ;; |

Something was different about the night, the mist that curled around her body spoke of a familiar presence, bringing her news of a wolf that was not pack mate. Swalleena sat up top the Cliffs, gazing at the inky expanse of the lake below her when the mist pressed up more firmly, demanded her attention. Slipping out of her silent meditation she glided to the edge of the cliff, unafraid by the fatal drop that awaited below her and gazed out at the water`s edge. Her heart stopped beating if but for a second as her emerald eyes caught sight of an almost ghostly shape moving on the shore. The mist carried the wolf`s scent as though urging her to address the male for it knew that he was not part of the pack the land now protected.
Smiling softly she stood at the edge as the wind ruffled her fur, the ends turning to smoke, disconnecting and reconnecting with her body in a manner that highlighted an almost ethereal quality about the female. Why had he come? Surely he knew it would be dangerous to seek place among lands that were not his own? Was it to see her? The thought brought a creeping blush to her face, no, it could not be the reason for none had ever braved travel to seek her out. She should turn around and return to the dark comfort of the thick forest but she knew that she could never resist the brute`s presence.
With his soft manners and strong presence the large male was a presence that called to the wisp’s own essence; she recognized this but knew pursuing it would be futile now that she had made her choice. And yet…Dissolving into smoke she drifted down the face of the cliff, her weightless body floating without care past the dangers that normal wolves might face and she could feels the water`s presence as she drifted across its surface. Invisible to that which did not seek her Swalleena was a ghostly presence of eerie grace, at ease in her element as the moon sparkled through her, draping her mist in tiny diamonds of light.
Slowing down she materialized, her small paws landing without noise on the rocky shore, and gave a quiet bark of greeting, not wanting others to notice the male`s presence. Breathlessly she greeted, "Yueh…” Pausing to glance shyly at his face she felt her heart beat pick up, the rhythm faster than her normally calm beat. “I am glad to see you my friend, you risk much by coming here but I shall never tell.” Her small smile was happy, for she had found more then she hoped for in this land, though she remained alone as before. Sometimes it left emptiness in the pit of her stomach and a fleck of longing in her eyes and tonight beside the Chief she felt it more than before for his presence highlighted his absence as well. It was a bittersweet sensation, one she had never experienced before for she had never felt such a gentle yearning for someone`s presence as such that she felt for him.

YUEH Yueh knew that his appearance could be intimidating, and he did nothing to change this fact. It was not that he wanted everyone to fear him; it was simply that he was a very focused individual who had no time to worry about what others thought of him. Except now. Pelt always kept in pristine condition was even more so, white and clear, like the silent moon that swam in the ocean of darkness overhead. The feathers that cloaked his wings sat stiff, striking upon his broad shoulders. And tonight, he no longer walked with hard headed pride, rather subtle and submissive. Even then his demeanor was powerful, and he supposed it was always a good thing, females were not interested in the weak, were they? What about weakness on the inside? The old behemoth was beginning to crack from within, longings surfacing with incredible force. Longings, that he had never had the urge to have ever before. There was always somewhere to go, wolves to see and stories to tell. His wisdom had been his mate for many a year, keeping his mind active and on a continuous adventure. Now that his best days were behind him, the joy in sharing his knowledge began to fade, and was no longer what Yueh needed to live out the rest of his days happily. He wanted to share still, but his whole self, and not just part of it. The soft falling of earth would cause Yueh to pause mid-step, audits swiveling to locate the source of the sound. As Swalleena scented him, he could not to the same. She was obviously downwind, and his nape prickled slightly as the unknown being came closer. He had shooed off the buzzing Spirits that would follow his every move tonight, not wanting them to shatter his serenity. He could call upon them at any moment should he need it, but the Lake was always soothing, consoling the the Yagi hybrid. If he was in any immediate danger, he would have known it by now. Lowering the large suspended paw to the ground, Yueh stepped forward cautiously, lips pursed to speak a soft greeting to the unseen figure. He didn't need to however, Swalleena's soft bark of greeting sounding first. Immediately his heart race picked up, his body shaking with the feeling. What were the chances of that? He could not hide the wide grin that graced his maw, and like an excited puppy did he wag his stocky tail. It had been a long time since that part of his body had moved with such speed and it felt almost weird to him. "Swalleena. Always a pleasure."He breathed, bowing his head downward in a handsome bow to the female. Just being near to her the male felt new life flow through his old body. "Worth the risk eh?" The brute teased, now flashing a cheeky smile at the delicate white flower. He had a sudden urge of playfulness, happy to be fortunate enough to run into the one he had been seeking. word count ;; 510 tags ;; Swalleena ooc notes ;; *Hides* musical inspiration ;; If you're gone - Matchbox Twenty. |

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,false][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd415/Somatra1/sback-28.jpg]"Speaking" Swalleena rested her eyes on the large wolf, his full figured dwarfed her own, but yet she did not feel threatened; Yueh was no longer a stranger to her. Although his pale body reminded her greatly of the king that had taken everything from her, his muscles and calm manners banished the illusion. The king that she had been forced to serve had been sickly and crude at the best of times, he had no pride or dignity left and not a bone in his body possessed any semblance to the kindness that the hybrid had given her. Giving her tail a couple wags of cheerful greeting the pale wolf advanced, a stronger smile playing on her maw.
She watched, if not partially breathlessly, as the male bowed, a charming gesture that brought an amused twinkle to her eyes. In turn she performed a dancing curtsy, letting herself dissolve before hitting the ground and reappearing. It did not matter whether the larger wolf could see her movements; it simply brought her joy to indulge in a playful banter that she had never been given the chance to experience. Laughing in merriment the sound came out like a caress, light yet sincere, and Swalleena moved closer to reach up and give his shoulder a nuzzle of her velvety nose.
Speaking with fewer reserves, the trouble of the situation forgotten, she said, “Worth much more...” With that she ran one downy wing across his flank to return the tease and moved off to the side. “How do you fare Yueh? I have missed hearing your voice, the land speaks true and strong here, but it cannot replace your speech.” She wondered what might occur if she was caught fraternizing with a male from another pack, she could not fathom there being too many issues, but the nature of their interactions might arouse suspicion. It did not matter in this moment in time; the reward far outweighed the risk.
Her time in the Accord had felt right, she knew she was in the land she belonged, and keeping to her own company had been a pleasant way of healing past hurts. Ones that no healing power could touch, not that it mattered for it seemed her own power was limited to only being of use for others, she could lay bleeding to death and be powerless against it. It wasn’t such a terrible matter, she was content to be able to help others with her gifts, and the title of Savant Healer was a peaceful one that suited her. She understood the land, especially the mist that always came out to try and cheer her up, alleviating concerns and worries on her darker days.
She wondered whom Yueh had as comfort, true the mist was not but an elemental force of nature, but then again it was something. And as though to answer her call the mist crept off the lake, encircling the pair in a protective shield and camouflaging their pelts from prying eyes. The only other time she ever felt more content was in the company of the large brute, and on this occasion he seemed more alluring then before. She could attribute it to absence makes the heart grow fonder, however it was more than that With his looks Yueh could have passed for a whisp, a rather large whisp, but all the same. Swalleena moved to a grassier area, just adjacent to the shore, and lay down, the strands dry from the day of sunshine. “Would you care to join me?” She offered, wondering if perhaps the travel to the Lake might have tired the male out, it was not an easy trek, and certainly not in the winter.
