The move to the new land had been necessary, there simply would not have been enough shelter or prey left in the Meadow for the pack to survive the winter, and they had meager numbers as it was. But Keinvarii would not let herself fall to despair over the loss of the familiar land that she and Magispar had enjoyed talks within so many moons ago. One tear fell from her gemstone blue eyes, a tear to mourn the loss of her friend, her friend's dream and the land they had built their home in. Shaking her head she dismissed the sadness, now was a time for strength and work, for the pack would need to pull together now more then ever to survive the winter months.
The land they had moved to was breath taking beyond anything the stone lupus had ever seen, rich and fertile the diverse environment was a mystical wonder that filled her nerves with renewed energy, the air a strong tonic to her sadness. She had diligently made her way up to the grassy crest of the Heikwar Cliffs that morning, fog shrouding the land in a haunting coat of silver and now the wind lashed more quietly, no less strongly but perhaps with less of a bite as if the welcome the Queen's arrival.
Having reached the top she raised several large boulders from the earth, placing the taller ones closer to the edge of the cliff, this was where the wolves would gather to talk, and the High Estate ranks would rest upon the taller boulders. Equality was no longer an option, superiority had to be established and the new ranks were that of older eras, strong and firm the olden packs had survive decades through the wild following these ranks and Keinvarii would now put them into effect for her own pack. And for this reason they would be known as the Centena Accord; ancient alliance. Evelyn had become second in command and Keinvarii knew from the deepest levels of her soul that the lumen would be a formidable wolf to have by her side and at the head of the pack.
Raising her head she let out a long, strong and almost mournful call out over the lake, the sound echoing much farther then had she called from bellow the cliffs. Hopefully the pack members would choose to stay and accept the changes, but either way matters had to be changed, and quickly. Looking out her eyes took in the sight of the lake extending almost farther then the eye could see, the ghostly outline of rocky cliffs breaking the horizon in the distance. The sky was a strong grey, but the land was lush and green all the same, late fall having yet to rob the land of its tone.
The Centena Accord's Queen had confidence in her subjects without restraint, but all the same the worry was evident in her tired face, sleep came difficult of late and the move had taken its toll on her old injury and it now pained her to place much weight on that paw. But she had to put up a brave front of confidence for her pack mates for they were all that mattered to her now. Sounds of the wilderness made its way to her ears as the forest seemed to call out a greeting to the stone lupus, encouraging her with its wild strength. Sighing Stone lifted her head to still tall and straight, there were important matters to attend to today.

[atrb=background,http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q21/winkatuck/evelyn.png,true][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=height,700,true][scrolly:h(80),w(30),sy][/scrolly] | [scrolly:h(50),w(45),sy][/scrolly] | [scrolly:h(150),w(400),sy] It was long dead, the old pack and the old home. There had been no choice but to change, and after conferring with her leader upon these things, she had agreed to change as well. There was only so much that they could do in order to keep the pack alive and staying in that meadow was not one of those things. It would have run out of food very quickly, and there was little shelter as it was, so there was no reason for them to have remained there. It would have killed each and every one of the wolves that she loved so dearly in this pack. There was not much she could do about anything, except support her leader. In the entirety of the pack, the stone lupus had to be her closest friend, the one she most respected. It took an awful lot to earn the old hag's respect, and one had to go through hell to get it. Keinvarii had done more than enough to prove herself to Evelyn's standards, and she would no longer think of her in any other way than good.
The Lumen's ruby red eyes scanned the grassy areas that surrounded her, part of this lovely cliff that her leader had gone clambering up. She was checking to see if anyone else was coming just yet and she certainly hoped there would be more than one, especially more than just the two of them. Phoenix and her pups had vanished quite some time ago, and she was rather sure she knew where they were. The Mafia was rather close to their lands and it wouldn't take much for the Fire Lupus' pups to wander off that far, their mother following them to ensure their safety. Being captured by the Mafia wolves was not much of a surprise, for they guarded their home viciously and would do anything they wished with strangers that came too close. She knew they were a dirty bunch and that there was little chance of getting Phoenix out, but she knew she had to try something. She was not so keen on letting her packmates perish at the hands of another.
Evelyn sighed and turned herself towards her leader at the sound of her call. She padded towards the female, suddenly feeling the effect of her own old age as she climbed. She was not that old for a Lumen, and she had many, many years left ahead of her before she died. However, with the events that had gone by most recently, things seemed to be taking its toll on herself and the one she respected so much. She saw the way that the female's old injury hurt her, and she was ready to say such. Pausing behind the Lupus, she watched her use her power to rearrange the stones on the edge of the cliff, shaping them to where wolves could sit comfortably upon them. She had a feeling this was where meetings were to be held. She followed her leader closely, coming up on her side and sitting down beside her to gaze out upon the lands as well as she was. It was utterly breathtaking, and the perfect place for the new home.
"We made a fine choice in picking this place, my friend. Do not be discouraged, the pack will come." Her beautiful red eyes turned on her friend, and she frowned. "I know that paw of yours hurts you, so don't try to fool me. I'm too old to be tricked anymore. I suggest after we get things settled that you take a nice long rest, perhaps even for a few days, and I can handle things. You need to revitalize yourself, Stone." She was rather hellbent on making sure the female got herself some rest in the next few days, for she knew that the Lupus needed it. She could handle things while the female took a rest and made herself better. That was all she wanted for her friend, for leading a pack was not easy and with recent events, she wasn't at all surprised for either of their exhaustion. Things had to fall back to normal soon and she prayed that the pack would follow them close.

[scrolly:h(370),w(405),sy] The move was the best and yet the worst thing that could have happened to the pack, and Faye was glad it had been done. She would miss the old pack lands, with the beautiful poppy meadow and rivers, but it wasn't land fit for a pack. Perhaps as a summer or spring home, but in the winter? The rivers would freeze, and the poppies would die. The sun would shine no longer, and prey would have moved on. No, she was glad for the move indeed. Keinvarri, though the lightning lupus called her Stone, and Evelyn, had taken control of the pack, and she guessed it about time.
She hadn't known Magispar very much, but had considered her an acquaintance, and thought of her with happiness in her heart: She wished her no ill, but still wondered how she was, and where. She hoped she had found happiness. Equality was a wonderful term, but not one to be taken lightly: A pack had to be cohesive, and stand strong together. This could not be with no ranks or organization, and although she was as ever true to her word, and cared not for ranks, a pack needed leadership, and she was glad Stone had taken that role.
She was seven years old, and had begun to tire, her powers at their peek, but her body slowly beginning to tire. She kept fit, but she already knew her life was half over. Instead of dwelling on such morbid thoughts, she thought rather as to what she had accomplished, the friends she'd made and the travels she'd done: It had been a wonderful life, and there was still experiences to live yet. She climbed steadily to the meeting area, where she noticed Stone and Evelyn already were: Her two friends and allies, she barked out a greeting, tail wagging. If it weren't for her bright yellow eyes, and blue markings on her back and legs, she could almost look like a lumen, and the mistake had been made before.
"Hello Stone, and Evelyn. It is good to see you both again, my friends." she greeted, coming to sit beside them on the rocks. [/scrolly]

[scrolly:h(480), w(340),sy] OOC: Sorry, I'm a little out of practice. e.e
Cyra stopped in her tracks, cirlcling around where she was, trying to take in every aspect of this new land. It was beautiful!! Not to get it wrong, Cyra loved the other land but she hadnt been there long so moving was not such a problem for her. In fact she couldnt see a single negative aspect of it. Yes, the meadow was where the pack was origanally founded. Yes, there were lots of memories there. But if they hadn’t moved, then no more memories would have been made. She breathed deep, taking in the scent of everything around her. There was just so much! So much prey. So much scenery. So much plants and trees and wonderful, magnificent, beautiful Earth!! She just couldn’t help it and let out a cry of happiness.
She then spotted three other wolves standing on a cliff overlooking the beautiful lakes. By the looks of it, Keinvarii, Evelyn, and Faye. She had heard a faint call from Keinvarii but Cyra was some ways away, and now that she thinks about it, it’s suprising that Keinvarii’s voice even reached that far. She was overjoyed to see them, and couldn’t wait to share her enthusiasm with her friends. She took off into a full on sprint up to where they were gathered around. She bounded up to them as fast as possible, then thought twice and slowed to a jog about 10 metres away. She didn’t want to jolt them and she had to keep in mind, that while she may not have been around the meadow for long, her fellow pack mates may have been and this could be a sad time for them.
“Hello friends! It’s so nice to see you!” she tried to be respectful but couldnt keep her smile off her face. “This is such a wonderful land you’ve picked” she continued saying to all three of them, for she was not sure who acually picked this land or if it was a callaborative effort. She calmed down and gave all of them a warm greeting smile, then proceeded to look around at her surroundings from this view.
She noted the boulders made up to ressemble seats. Most likely for the high ranks? To Cyra it would be a shame if the pack was not all equal now, but a part of her understood that it would benifit the pack especially in the winter to come. And besides, if there was to be a leader there was none better then Keinvarii to be so.

Evelyn was the first to arrive, and the second wolf that the stone lupus had ever considered to be a friend after her first acceptance into the pack. Giving each of the wolves a polite inclination of her head she began to address each of them in turn, showing that she truly was glad for their commitment to the pack. Her strong voice spoke kindly to Evelyn, "We shall see oh unfooled one," She gave the bright lumen a wink to show she was merely teasing,"But first I believe we owe our fine pack mates an explanation." Evelyn was a lumen, and by nature lumen and lupus were never meant to get along but yet here they all stood, three lupus and one lumen united by a desire to fight failure and conquer odds that towered in front of them and their future.
Keinvarii's eyes came to rest on Faye, the equally wise if not solitary lightning lupus whom always had a quiet word of well founded logic to add to any conversation, she was glad to have the female follow them into this new and wild land. "And the same certainly to you Faye, I have missed seeing everyone and I cannot but extend my sincere apologies to all of you for the trials we have had to face of late, but with luck this pack shall prosper in this new land." This left Cyra, the optimistic earth lupus whom brought a source of boundless energy to the pack and had also proved incredible loyalty with her presence. "I am certainly glad you think so, it speaks to me in many ways as I hope it already does to you." Sighing with relief that some wolves had shown she brightened up and gave them all a grateful glance.
"I have called you today to place forth some changes that need to be made to ensure our survival through the upcoming winter months. You have all stuck by this pack with considerable faithfulness and I can never express my gratitude fully to you. I am content to see you have followed us to this land that will offer plenty of shelter and food which is an excellent place to start off with. As proposed by Evelyn the Alliance is no more and instead we shall be known as the Centena Accord." She smiled at that, the name was one that she considered particularly well thought out and it suited the lupus. "Equality in ranks is no more, but our creed is ever the same, We Stand Equal as One in that all wolves have the equal rights of freedom of speech. In saying so new ranks will be given and I present Evelyn with the title of Archduchess, second in command but first at my side for she had proved her dedication and loyalty from the very beginning and has a wealth of knowledge to bring that can surely never be found elsewhere. Faye, you have also proved meritable wisdom and strength, for this I should love to have you accept the position of Duchess, third in command I can trust you to keep us just in our cause. And Cyra, it would give me equal pleasure if you accepted Lady of the Hunt as the most skillful hunter of the pack, you retain control over all hunters, take care of them and this land." She stopped her speech to allow the wolves to absorb her words, and sincerely hoped they would not destroy the already shaky pack, her eyes watching each in turn to gage their reactions.

She watched at each of them approached the pinnacle of the cliff and came to the two of them. She waited by her friend patiently. She had long placed her trust in this Lupus, her friendship. There were very few she would ever call friend, and Keinvarii had managed to gain that title in the old female's eyes. The rest of the pack were like family, more or less better than the one she had grown up with, and they were the ones she would die for. She would throw herself in front of a killing blow to save them, toss her own body into a fire if it meant keeping them alive. She had grown attached to this pack and she loved everyone within it. However, she did not know many of them on a personal basis and she didn't really feel the need to. She did not pry into Keinvarii's life nor had her own ever been pried into. She only considered the stone Lupus a friend because of what she had done for her, convincing her in a special way to join the pack.
She chuckled at the female's words towards her. "If I have to pin you down beneath your own stones to make you rest, then so help me..." She teased her right back, trying to lighten the mood, dissipate the stress that was bound to be hanging in the air after everything that was happening. The stress of rebuilding the pack, the stress of moving it. Not only was she beyond exhausted, she was rather positive the rest of the pack was as well. For the moment, they would need to make due with what they had and move on, attempt to rebuild the pack from the inside out. The new lands would help, they definitely would help them. It was more appealing than the meadow, not to mention would provide for the pack better. This was home now and, to be honest, she truly liked all of it. "I wouldn't dream of not telling our packmates a thing. What I find awfully strange is how I am surrounded by Lupus, yet don't have a problem with it. As unnatural as it is...it feels right somehow."
Evelyn dipped her head to Faye. "It's good to see you as well, Faye. You seem to be in good health." Her attempts at making small talk were strange and she wasn't fantastic at it, but at least she tried. Cyra arrived on the scene next, and she smiled at the Lupus. "Welcome, Cyra. Glad you like it. This will be home now." She was glad that some had decided to show, to respond to their leader's call. Of course, there would more than likely be stragglers and the others would show up with time. Still, the Lumen felt as though she needed to express her concern about Phoenix and her pups, along with the Mafia being involved. This was not a topic she wanted to burden anyone with, but she was still concerned for the fire Lupus' well being and was worried that something might have happened. No matter what, she was determined on finding her and bringing her home.
It wasn't long before Keinvarii began her speech, telling them about what was happening with their beloved pack, all of the changes that were being made. The new name. Centena Accord, ancient alliance. It suited the pack well, all things considered. They were an alliance, a group that stuck beside one another no matter what, and, as the Lupus had said, would have the power of freedom of speech. She listened to the rankings. Archduchess for herself, Duchess for Faye, and Lady of the Hunt for Cyra. It all fit them well. To be honest, she was glad that she now had a rank other than one to fight with. She was getting old herself and wouldn't be able to take much more of the physical stuff. She wanted to bring her wisdom and vast knowledge to use this time. "Thank you, Keinvarii, for everything you have done for this pack. You've sacrificed a lot and I'm sure it wasn't easy, especially with Magispar's sudden disappearance. This was all dropped on you unexpectedly."
It wasn't a weight someone should have to bear on their own, which is why she had helped with these ideas. "I will do my best at what it is that I need to do in order to help this pack. I will live for a very, very long time, so I doubt this home shall fail in my lifetime." That part of things did make her sad, though. She would live much longer than any of them, as it was the way of the Lumen, to live for so long. However, she was sure that she would be treasuring each moment preciously, for she knew that it would seem like a few minutes to her when it would be years to them. When that time came, she wasn't sure what she would do about it, but she pushed it aside, knowing she'd deal with it when it did come. "I would like to address my concerns about Phoenix and her pups. I believe the Hellion Mafia has taken them prisoner. This concerns me greatly, and I fear for all of their safety. Whether it is safe or not, I would like to make a trip to their lands and request to see the Don. We need to find her and bring that family home."

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] Raynor had been busy scouting out the lake, his new home, the lands that the Accord would now live, and if he had any say in it, prosper. He swam around the lake, testing the water for hidden holes or dark pits, that even Cael didn't dare go in. However, to his great delight, there were none, and the lake remained at a perfect depth all around, except for being naturally shallower around the edges. The island in the middle particularly delighted him, and he had taken a walk around it, finding a twisted and knarled old tree that the winds and years had shaped to their liking. It had a dark, almost imperceptible entrance on the outside, and when he had went in, curious, he had found it covered in moss, a cozy den that would keep him warm during winter and cool with the summer months.
It also had a small rear exit that led down a small path to the water's edge, an escape route and a way for him to quickly travel back to shore. He wasn't a very solitary wolf, but even he needed peace and quiet sometimes when he returned from his long trips with the Circus: He was saddened for a moment, since the male knew he would have to face the pack and tell them all the news. It wasn't that he was a coward, he simply hated the idea of harming those who had been his friends and family for the past few months.
He'd been just stepping onto land, the transformation from large golden tail to land legs rapidly happening when he'd heard the familiar call: Stone, his friend, ally and trusted leader. He'd follow her to the ends of the world, so deep was his trust. He started at a light jog then gradually increased his pace, hoping he wasn't late for the meeting. He slowed when he reached the majestic cliffs, they had really chosen a beautiful new territory. He hadn't been overly fond of the other one, the meadow provided little shelter, and not much water, or prey, he had to admit.
He neared the small gathering of wolves, the mist shrouding his sleek black pelt, as the gold highlights shimmered. His fur was still damp, and his golden eyes focused on the wolves already seated: Keinvarii, of course, the trusted and strong leader, Evelyn, the spirited fighter that he admired her skills, Faye, the wise and respected lupus, and Cyra, the positive and upbeat hunter that always managed to brighten his day. He walked up, and even if he was only forty inches tall,he was very large for a Cael, and years of hard training had honed his muscles so that they bulged nicely.
He waited for Stone and Evelyn to finish, smiling at the wolves seated, he was glad they were all here. When they were done, he spoke: "Greetings all, I am glad you are all here. I may add that this is a remarkable territory you have chosen, Stone and Evelyn, and the Centena Accord is an honorable name. I agree with all changes that have been made." His voice was deep, but musical as it seemingly flowed through the air.
He hated to admit it, and he never would, it was his own personal opinion: Equality was fine and just, but would never have worked in the long run with a pack, and he'd been getting rather tired of tip-toeing around wolves who sought to seek advantage of the pack's equal rights and forgiving nature. He would always respect the freedom of choice and speech, but ranks helped to organize a pack, and were a necessary change in his mind. He was glad that Stone, Evelyn and Faye would be the lead ranks of the Accord, he realized he was the only male for now, and being comfortable in his skin, he had no problem with that. When Evelyn mentioned Phoenix, he nodded:
"I too, have realized that Phoenix and her pups have gone missing. I agree with your suggestion Evelyn, perhaps the Don may listen to our plea. However, we must be prepared for what might have happened to the family: The Mafia is unforgiving, and harsh." He didn't say it out loud, but if the Don didn't, Raynor would be more than happy to assure he did: He hadn't gotten into a good fight in a long time. He would wait a bit to tell the others about the circus, until the more important matters were discussed.

[scrolly:h(370),w(405),sy] The lightning Lupus watched as the ever positive Cyra came in, and smiled kindly at her greeting. She then smiled warmly at Evelyn: She knew the Lumen was a more solitary wolf, like herself, and it pleased and honored her that the she-wolf made an effort to talk with her. She nodded politely in kind: "Thank you, Evelyn." Faye answered. She had a lot to thank Evelyn for: Sticking by the pack, supporting Stone and the Accord, and mostly, being her friend and ally. She just hoped she knew how grateful she was.
The she-wolf listened to Stone's speech, the new creed sitting well with her, as well as the name. Next came new ranks: Evelyn would make an excellent second in command, or Archduchess, and Stone a wonderful and just leader. It pleased her to be nominated as Duchess, she'd come so far in the time she had joined the former Alliance, now the Accord, separated from her old family, but it had been her ancient teacher that she had loved the most, like a beloved grand-father, and he was long gone. It made her feel tranquil and happy to think he was watching over her from the stars: She hoped he was proud of who she had become. When Evelyn mentioned Phoenix, Faye thought of the lupus and her two pups, and her heart broke a little inside: The Mafia would never let those pups live, somehow she knew... Their twisted logic was slightly comprehensible: That band of miscreants had no use for pups, they would be executed on the spot. As for Phoenix...
They could only hope she was okay and well, but the question was, would she have the courage to go on after such an ordeal? Lost in her thoughts, it was a moment before she realized Raynor, that dark, handsome Cael, her trusted friend, was speaking. She caught the gleam of battle in his eye when he finished, and chuckled inside: Once a soldier, always a soldier, she supposed. However, the thought of the Don and Phoenix's captors paying for what they had done wasn't a bad idea. The lightning Lupus remembered what her old teacher had always said: "The problem with an eye for an eye, is that then everyone is blind." When she was younger, she hadn't fully understood, but now she did.
Attacking the Mafia was fruitless, and would most likely kill them all. It was better to reason with the Don, and cool logic and reasoning quickly dispelled any violent thoughts. The new Duchess chose her words carefully: "I am honored, Stone, all of you, that I have been chosen for Duchess, I will fulfill my rank as best I can. I agree with all changes, and I thank both Stone and Evelyn for shepherding us through the move and changes. As for Phoenix and her pups, I agree that trying to reason with the Don would be best for all concerned." She paused, gathering her thoughts.
She was treading on dangerous and delicate land, and she continued, sorrow touching her strong voice: "I however want to add that the Mafia may not be open to letting their prisoners get away, if that is, they are still alive and well. So while I agree that meeting with the Don is just, we must be prepared to face whatever heinous acts have been commited..." she finished, looking at each wolf in the eyes. She sincerely wished the family was well, and sent a silent prayer to the spirits. [/scrolly]

Cyra smiled sadly, but acceptingly, as Keinvarii anouced the fact that equality in the ranks was to be no more. She had a feeling this was coming, but it didn't bother her as much as it may have. Then Keinvarii went on to announce the new ranks she had given to Evelyn and Faye. Truthfully they were unlike anything she had ever heard. They sounded almost majestic. Then her faced lit up with a smile ear to ear as Keinvarri announced that Cyra was to be the ‘Lady of the Hunt’. Her heart swelled with joy as Keinvarii anouced that she was one of the most skilled hunters in the pack.
“Thank you Keinvarii. I much apreciate the new title you have givin me and I hope I can live up to it. I know you and Evelyn will lead this pack to its greatest potential.” She finished, thinking what was on her mind and giving Keinvarii a bow to show she meant what she said.
Evelyn began to speak next, and Cyra listened intently. But as soon as the smile on Cyras face came, it vanished just as quick, the joy in heart replaced by a sickening feeling thet seemed to ooze out of her chest. Phoenix? Being captured by the Mafia? And her pups...oh my gosh her pups! She physically shuddered at the thought of what the Mafia could do. A whle ago Cyra had noted Phoenix not showing to any meetings, and hadn’t seen her around. But she had pups, and Cyra had merely thought Phoenix was caring for them. A surge of fury over took her for a split second, How could I not have thought of this?! Cyra had an unfortunate trait for overlooking things and being somewhat niave, not wanting to believe what was acually happening.
Cyra didn’t even notice Raynors’ presence until he started to speak. She turned to him and gave him a meak nod of her head in acknowledgement of his showing. He went on, followed by Faye to say the wise yet unwanted words: They needed to be prepared to face whatever acts they have already comitted. She shook her head, exhuasted, and terified for Phoenix and her pups.

"Good day Raynor, our fellow circus friend. Would you do me a favor and accept the role of Lord of Defense? I know you have past experience with the techniques of offense and defense and are certainly more than worthy of this rank." She gave the cael a smile of gratitude for he too had stuck by the pack in their harder times. Unabashed concern for her friend Phoenix was a consistent feeling in her chest, nagging at her since the lack pack reunion. Her guilt at failing to take action on the matter stabbed at her heart, but the pack had needed to be moved before winter set in to ensure the survival of many. The choice between Phoenix and the pack had been a difficult one and no doubt the choice might have caused some doubts in Stone for the pack members, but she did not regret the decision.
Blue eyes fierce with determination she now knew she would have to make up for this choice for something had to be done for their pack mate and her pups; if they were not too late. A low growl of frustration echoed from her throat, if the mafia did have the Accord member chances were they would keep her. Frowning she supposed they could attempt to reason with the Don, but as a small pack what incentive would the black hearted leader have for releasing Phoenix? Sighing she looked into the faces of her brave and strong pack mates; she knew they were all survivors as was Phoenix and expected a logical and smart answer from her, but the lupus was tired.
Mind working on overtime she tried to piece together a plan of action, they were having a festival on open grounds, news of this private affair had reached her but briefly, and it meant that most mafia members might be about having fun and paying little attention to their captives. It was a small chance, but none the less it was one the Accord might have to take and the Queen began her speech warily, "You all have serious grounds for your concern, make no mistake the mafia may very well be the cause for Phoenix's absence. If they have yet to release her I believe we can cautiously assume they do not plan to anytime soon." She took a breath, judging her next words carefully before continuing.
"It pains me to say but reasoning does not seem the best options, though were it any other pack than the mafia I would prefer this route. However this is not the case and as we are but a small pack with little to offer in exchange for the return of Phoenix discussion with the Don would only alert them that we seek to free their prisoner." She left her rock and began to pace restlessly in the midst of the circle, keeping most of the pressure off her old injury as her tail flicked back and forth with her thoughts. When she looked back up her gaze was harder and clearer, what had to be done would be done but she did not want to risk the lives of her pack mates in doing so.
Snarling her words slightly she spoke vehemently, "We will free Phoenix under cover of darkness and from under the paws of the pack wolves that will no doubt be busy enjoying their festivities. This cannot be done in great numbers, two wolves and no more may venture south to complete this task. It will require great stealth and a steely disposition for as Raynor has pointed out, we know not what might of transpired. For this reason I would suggest that at least on of the members be one more familiar with Phoenix. I can not in good conscience ask for volunteers without being prepared to follow through myself, and for this reason I offer my own presence for the operation." Rolling her shoulders slightly Stone tried to ease some of the tension that was beginning to build in her muscles. The stone lupus was built solidly, and like her element could wist stand a solid battering and still come out in one piece.
"This must be a pack vote, and majority will rule for although I may think this best I will not submit any of you to a plan that is not deemed to be successful by less then half of the pack. We may still be small, but every vote weighs strong." She became silent and stopped pacing to stand in the center of the pack, awaiting their verdict on the matter. She knew each of them would have something of importance to say on the matter and Stone welcomed each thought, ears straight at attention.

Faye and Raynor she had a feeling of their suspicion, but she had never realized that Cyra was unaware of their absence. Of course, on could easily assume that she was off taking care of her pups away from the pack for a bit, teaching them things that she would need to teach them herself rather than have distractions. She could understand if such things were true, but she knew that was not the case. Phoenix was not here and she hadn't been for quite some time. After searching about for the female before, the scents had all led in one direction, but she never followed them all the way to see if her fears were true. If Phoenix and her pups were taken by the Mafia, then there was little that they could do when it came to fighting. They were a small pack, starting over. Only so much could be done.
Her crimson eyes tracked Keinvarii's movements as she left her stone perch to pace among the circle of wolves. Sometimes, she often worried for her, wondering if her health was as well as it should have been. She knew that her old injury was a terrible cause of this and that she was exhausted as everyone else, but she was still concerned for her friend. She pushed her thoughts aside and focused on her words. "Of course they will not listen to reason. They are the Mafia, after all. Stubborn, pig-headed, cannibalistic pack of wolves is what they are." Her words were filled with a bitter malice for them, a pure hatred coming from inside her heart. They had done many wrong things and she was well aware of them. She would not forgive them so easily for the things they had already done to the world, but taking Phoenix and her pups would be one way to make the Lumen want to kill all of them. She wouldn't, though.
Volunteers? Evelyn knew she didn't want to ask for any. It was dangerous and she had a feeling that very few would speak up and offer to go to the Mafia in order to get Phoenix and her pups back. While it was true that negotiation wouldn't work and that they'd need to steal her back, there would be very few of them capable of doing such a thing. For one, there wasn't any way that she was allowing Keinvarii to go. She seemed much too worn down to even think about such things. Instead, she spoke, "I wish not to seem greedy, but I wish to go. I am not the closest friend of Phoenix's. In fact, I barely know her at all. However...if I can get close enough to Phoenix and her pups and get them out of sight for just a moment, I can make us all invisible until we get out." She had made her point there. She simply wished to help a packmate and she was sure that she could do it if she was careful enough. She couldn't do it alone, though.

[scrolly:h(370),w(405),sy] There was no denying it: Evelyn and Stone were both right. The Mafia was a treacherous, hateful pack and if they hadn't let the family go yet, they never would. It was now or never. The plan seemed to be the only option, but Faye thought long and hard before answering, her voice steady: "I agree with this plan Stone, and since you and Evelyn have already volunteered to go, I would like to wait here and assure that Phoenix has a proper den to come home to. She will need rest and comfort, and so I would like to take on the task of greeting the three of you when you come home, and do my best to assure her den is ready: She may be spending a lot of time there... She will be hurt both inside and outside, and this is a new territory to her. She will most likely be distant, quiet, confused, even burst into random bouts of anger or tears: Trust me, I have unfortunately seen this before. But with time and love she will heal, and all we can do to help is be supportive of her." Her words rang true, and although perhaps scary to hear, they needed to be said: They had to be prepared. She winked at Raynor, grinning slightly: He deserved the rank, he was a marvelous fighter, and would die for all of them, she was sure. She then remained serious, and waited for the others to speak in turn. Congratulations, Cael. May you never lose a fight, because I couldn't bear to lose you, my friend. She thought. She'd hate to lose any of the wolves here, and being a fighter could be a dangerous job. Still, she was sure the strong Cael could do it.[/scrolly]

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] OOC: Got mind-breaking for Ray, and since he knows all of ya'll so well, he can read minds. Cool, huh? :.)
The Cael listened attentively, until strange things began happening: Cyra's familiar voice entered his head first, and then Faye's... But he knew they weren't talking, they were silent, their maws not moving: How could he hear their thoughts?Phoenix? Being captured by the Mafia? And her pups...oh my gosh her pups! How could I not have thought of this?! He heard Cyra think. He felt her sadness and desperation, and tried to keep his expression neutral: Still, his eyes widened a little, and he gave her an odd look: It was all so... Bizarre! How? Why? Next was Faye, even her thinking voice strong and clear: Congratulations, Cael. May you never lose a fight, because I couldn't bear to lose you, my friend. The words touched him, and he smiled at her, understanding her even if she didn't know.
He whispered to Cyra so only she could hear: "Don't blame yourself Cyra, there is nothing any of us could have done." his voice was deep and musical, even as a whisper. He winked back at Faye. "I agree with your idea Stone, and even I truly want to come with the both of you, and perhaps give a little lesson to those mafia thieves... But that would mean leaving the Lake unprotected, and I can't do that. I will stay here, in case of an attack there will at least be me here to ward them off until we escape or help comes." There was a bit of regret in his voice, but duty came first: It was one of the good lessons his father had taught him.
"Thank you Stone. I will do my best to ensure every wolf is safe, always." There was a fierce determination in his voice, and a look in his eyes that ensured his words were true. "I have another announcement to make: I am indeed a part-time member of a traveling circus, they will be coming here in the next few weeks to perform. It will be a refreshing moment from the past stress we have all been through, I believe. I had offered myself as protection also, they aren't a pack, and I am just part-time. I will visit very often, as often as possible. You all need only call, and I will come." he looked every wolf in the eye.
His thoughts strayed: Why was he hearing their thoughts? Should he tell the group, or wait? He made his decision: It was best to wait, and figure it out first.

“Congratulations Raynor” Cyra said in a rather forced monotone voice as she bowed her head toward him. Cyra did not know Raynor all too well but from what she knew, Cyra thought he would make a great defender for the pack. She turned her head back, but not before Raynor whispered something in her ear. She glanced out of the corner of her eyes giving him an odd, quizzical look. What the heck?? She thought. It was almost as if he had read her mind...that or he was amazing at reading body language. Anyhow she changed her expression to grateful, with a slight bit of her questioning still lingering on her features.
As Keinvarii continued to speak, moving back to the topic of Phoenix, Cyra could feel the night getting chillier and chillier. The hairs on Cyra’s back stood on end, a sickening mixture of sadness and worry rolling over her body in waves. Keinvarii was right; why would the cold hearted, cruel Don of the mafia willingly give back our pack mate? If he ever did it would most likely cost the pack a great price – one they couldn’t pay. Keinvarii got up and paced around, obviously thinking of what to do next. Cyra stood still and occasionally nodded when Keinvarii gave out her ideas.
“Yes” Cyra spoke for first time in quite a while. She spoke with a strong voice, though not fully hiding the fact that she was worried. “I agree with all of you” she addressed Faye, Evelyn and Keinvarii. Then she spoke next only to Keinvarii and Evelyn “If you two are willing to go, then I shall support you in your decision. I agree, Evelyn, that your powers will come in handy, if not make the whole thing possible. However, Keinvarii, your leg doesn’t look as if it would help. I really do not mean to underestimate you or bring you down in any way. I believe you could still very well help Phoenix escape, but I wish it not to hurt you in the process.” Then Cyra turned to look at all of them again. “As for what you say Faye, I will most defiantly help you prepare for their return. As Lady of the Hunt,” -- she spoke here with a small grin on her face, enjoying her new title – “I will assure you that there will plenty of food for the three of you and all of us when you return.” She finished her say with a little comment to Raynor, “And congratulations Raynor on joining the circus. I cannot wait to see them perform.” She finished with a small smile for Raynor then bowed her head, saying thank you for listening.

Their concern for her health was a caressing breeze and just knowing that she had their support seemed to release some of the tension from her tired limb. Standing up tall her posture became slightly more commanding, there was nothing else to be discussed, she would go and pain be damned.
Firmly she replied, “Thank you for your concerns, they are well founded and because I know they come from good hearts greatly appreciated. But do not worry about me, a bit of rest and I shall be fine. We shall leave for the south in two days, you too need rest.” She glanced at Evelyn, the lumen would need to regain some strength as well. “Now Cyra, your offer would be most helpful, we shall need the nourishment and I expect so might Phoenix. Raynor, you have joined the circus and I am sure you will be a fantastic performer, but I ask this last favor, please stay in the pack lands and assume your rank as Lord of the Defense until our return, we cannot leave the territory without defense.” She hoped he would understand her demand, it did not please her to have to restrict a free soul but it pleased her no less to leave an undefended territory.
“We shall make for the south and with little pause will make it in time for their cursed festival. I know very well your talents for camouflage Evelyn and it is why I will leave infiltrating the proceedings to you. I shall wait outside for your arrival, but will on guard for any tell tale signs of trouble. With a bit of luck from the Great Spirit we may yet reach home before the first snow fall.” She concluded the matter but left the pack room to respond, all ideas were valued. The task would be dangerous, but it was necessary to appease all their souls and for Phoenix’s sake.
