"Speaking" The night had just begun and the sky remained a vast expanse of midnight blue, not yet darkened at such an early hour. Millions of blazing stars twinkled down upon Wonderwhy their bright faces eagerly awaiting to see what the new night might bring for the creatures below them. A distant haunting howl was raised, the sound terribly lonely and if not mildly disquieting at the core, but the stars continued to look on unchanging as the hours began to unfold. Below the sky the ocean remained calm and undisturbed by any turbulence, the warm air having cooled a bit and the water welcoming any who were seeking warmer tides to bathe and be rocked in. In their midst an odd looking wolf swam lithely, her movements without joy but simply perfected with practice, as she cut without issue through the gentle waves dancing across the salty waters.
The female was a crocodile monitor myou, and her body stretched out curvaceous and terribly long, her slim tail propelling her through the water as only a monitor`s could. Her fur was short and shined almost like scales, a rich velvety green that was only marred by golden flecks upon her back and a warm creamy underbelly. Usually this belle`s eyes would sparkle with vivacious enthusiasm, but today the amber orbs were sad and weary, she had travelled terribly far to make it to this land and her limbs ached from the tip of her graceful tail to the end of her dainty nose. The waters seemed to recognize this state of abandon and gently pushed her along to the shore, soothing her aching muscles and washing away the soot and soil from her long travels sympathetically. In turn the waves sang a soft melody of welcome, guiding her to the island in the near distance where she could find comfort among the sands so that she might rest.
Artellia had lost everything; absolutely everything. She had found true love beside her handsome and daring mate and a sense of security and belonging like she had never experienced before. She had been sold, pedalled and bought off to serve as a mate through the years and had accepted as much believing she was worthy of no more. However Tsunami had changed that and so much more for her and for the first time since she could recall her heart actually sang, a deep penetrating feeling of joy that had run from one limb to the next of her body. She would have eagerly died for the male, would have given up anything to have saved him and yet the gods had spit in her face and laughed cruelly. The pair had sought to find solace and shelter within the Empire, but it too had failed the lovers and the pack had dissolved slowly. The raging blizzard had only come to wipe clean the slate and try and claim the lives of those that lived within the Tundra but Artellia had known to flee.
However, much to her despair and endearing sorrow she had lost track of her valiant mate in the freezing sheet of white and could not track him less she too died. And so separated from the only individual that meant anything to her, left alone once again in a harsh world and ravaged with hunger she had set out to the one place that held any good memories for her; the Cove. It was there that she had met Tsu, and if there was any chance that he was still alive then it was at the cove that he would find her. Until she once again lay loving eyes upon his strong body she would remain there until she died, waiting for her lost love to come and calim her once more.
