"Speaking" A black and red mortui strode through the sands, the wind whipping at her coat. It was noon, and the sun beat down on the undead she wolf. Her white fangs flashed in the sun as she bared her teeth, her blood red eyes eagerly taking in the surroundings. It was a barren desert, though cacti were littered here and there. For most it would be a death trap, with little to no food and water, but to a mortui it was a fine place to live.
Thana paused, her black head turning to the left and then to the right. It was, yes, barren and seemingly dead. But if you were careful, you could see that the desert was teeming with wildlife. Hard to find wildlife, that is. Her claws dug into the sand, trying to find purchase. The female found it, and relaxed slightly. The dunes were tricky to navigate, but she had been here for quite some time, a week or so. The desert was a pretty place, she had found, and it was quite surprising, seeing as Thana thought the prettiest thing was someones red blood against her black pelt.
But no, the desert was special. It was her own haven, but she knew that she would have to go back to the jungle, eventually. A growl rose in her throat, her blood-colored eyes narrowing. The jungle. The first time she had smelt the jungle it had stunk of blood and wolves. That had been wonderful, but now she was not so sure. Yes, the smell of blood was wonderful, that hadn't changed, but she still wanted more power. Capo was impressive, and she had earned it in a lovely fight, but she thirsted for more, her more ambitious side now basking in the light.
Though serving for the Mafia was joyous, somehow Thana couldn't help but feel as though there was a better offer somewhere. A fly buzzed around her ear, and she snapped at it angrily. The fly flew back to her haunches, where a chunk of flesh had been ripped away. Ajax. That bastard. Look at what he did! she thought, her eyes now narrowed to slits. One day, yes, one day she would get back at him. She would crush his skull as he begged for mercy. No one could hurt her and get away with it. A smug grin flitted across her face as she remembered the gaping, bleeding wound. A one eared mortui, he was. Two ears did not adorn his ugly head, only one.
A giggle escaped Thana's maw, and the sound an unexpected one. Her voice and her laugh was quite pleasing, though her appearance was not. It was also odd to see the mortui giggle like so, which usually meant that she was planning a murder. Speaking of mortui.. Where was Inaba? She hadn't seen the other mortui in a while. And what was his name? Ah, yes; Thanatos. Than. She grinned, the name fit him quite well. It was interesting that she, Thana, would have the opposite of his name, Thanatos. It meant the same, yet was for the two different genders. But that aside, Thana wondered if she would ever see him again.
It had been, well.. fine, nice to see him and Inaba, for she now knew she was not the only mortui. But Inaba.. She had not liked the way her friend had been eying that ugly brute, Ajax. And Ajax had been so interested in Than. Thana was slightly surprised to realize that she was now calling him Than in her head, but it was easier then saying Thanatos each time she meant him. A breeze whipped past the mortui, causing her to blink and look up. Ah, yes, the desert. Thana pushed the thoughts of Than to the back of her head as she watched the dunes shift and change under her very paws.

The scorching noon sun beat down upon the sands of the desert as Thanatos continued his search of the desert, so far he had been to the deserts oasis and the hidden stone tunnels underground but he had yet to see the rest of the territory and now he had come to the ever changing dunes of the desert. He was starting to think he should have come in the cover of night when the air was cooler but it was to late now to turn back. The hot sand scorched his paws and even though he couldnt feel it, he knew that they were burning off. His skeletal feet sunk deep into the sand, making it difficult to walk.
Growling in frustration he continued becoming fairly annoyed at the way the sands made his mobility limited. Coming to the top of a fairly large dune he looked across the dessert, different than the forest where you can only see as far as the trees and underbrush allow you to see. Where as in the desert, if you are high enough, you can see as far as the eye can see. His ruby red eyes scanned the dunes one more time before getting ready to move again but quickly looking back up again realizing he had missed the large black figure moving through the sands aswell.
The scent of rotting flesh accompanied the figure along with a smell that he recognized as a Mortui he had met quite awhile back in the plains. A smile graced his maw as he slowly approached the female who's name was currently escaping him. He stalked around coming up behind her instead of in front hoping to startle her. "Now what do we have here? You miss me?" his voice was more playful than menacing, knowing that the female most likely recognized him.
Finally coming in front of her so that she could get a better look at him and he could get a better look at her. He noticed a big chunk of flesh missing from her lower back and a few others missing here and there thinking that she must have gotten into a fight recently. He thirstily took in her scent, recognizing the mafia, the other Mortui she was hanging out with when he first met her and someone else he couldn't quite catch the scent. But he would learn soon enough.

The sun was unrelenting, and Thana was once again glad she could not feel it's rays. Her bone paw was stuck in the sand, and she pulled it out slowly, watching the grains of sand pouring down into the crater she had made. Once again she thought back to the steamy jungle, her red eyes narrowing at the thought. Thinking of the jungle made her think of Ajax, and those thoughts always made her angry and annoyed. A breeze came floating past the black mortui's nose, and she grinned. Another one of her kind was near, and she would welcome anything to distract her from her thoughts. The wind shifted, though, and she lost the scent. Oh well, the other mortui wouldn't be thick enough to ignore her scent, which it could most certainly smell now. In fact, it was only a few minutes until Thana heard something behind her.
"Now what do we have here? You miss me?"
Thana's head snapped around to watch Thanatos walk to her front, her red eyes trained on the other mortui. She smirked at him, the idea of her 'missing him' was certainly ridiculous. "You wish. I came here to find solitude, you sought me out." she said pointedly, a smug look on her face. Thana's eyes met his own, and she raised a brow as she spoke, "So, what brings you here? I told you my story; I was looking for some quiet." It was odd that Thanatos would be here, most didn't just wander into the desert for no reason, they often had a purpose.
And Thana was intent on finding out his purpose. Thana glanced back at her gaping wound, annoyance clear on her face. That idiot would pay. She couldn't feel it, yes, but she would rather have all of her skin there, thank you very much. Her claws traced a pattern in the sand absentmindedly, her mind elsewhere, thinking of wonderful ways to torture Ajax, the male mortui. And Inaba!
She frowned; Inaba had a crush on that brute! Thana rolled her eyes; crushes! Please, Thana had no time for such things. But really, her friend was fraternizing with the black mortui's opponent. A thinly veiled look of disgust was on her face. She did not like how Ajax seemed, and she was certain Inaba could do much better. Inaba was a very young mortui, and Thana wondered how she had torn all the skin on her lower jaw off..
Suddenly Thana remembered that the other wolf was there, and she turned back to him, red eyes meeting red eyes.
OOC: Had a lack of muse, so sorry.. x.x
