The sun scorched the sand, even though it was winter. No trees where in site. She flapped her wings once again, and rode the drift. Her shadow, was sweeping across the sand, with the occasional flap of her wings. The grey figure outlined the sun, turning in loop de loop she flew over the painfully hot desert.
She landed with as much grace as she could. “Come on!” she yelled “I thought I was going out not further in!” She collapsed, and dug for water. After an hour or two, water arrived, she lapped with greed, and taking her fill she stood up and hovered over the dry sand. Looking for movement, and finding no movement within sight, she returned to the ground. Sleep crept up on her, and put her into soft succumb of light sleep.
She awoke with sand in her pelt, and shook it out. She continued so shake, falling over. Laughing she got up, and realized reality struck once again, a mirage came from the distance, food and water. Just a mirage, she thought and walked away. She walked into the mirage, finding it being reality.
She wadded out into the water, going to her chest in water. Her body cooled down to its normal temperature. She wadded back to the shoreline, sniffing around, she saw a patch of flowers, and laid down. She then rubbed her shoulder, and lifted her head, keeping her tail planted to the ground. Her sky blue eyes growing dull as she waited for someone- or something else to happen.
