She didn't even think it was possible here; the middle of the desert. The young Lyxxus growled irritably to herself. How could she get lost? She'd been traveling for months. It simply wasn't possible.
At least it was a bit warmer here. Yes, that was certainly something. Although she had to admit, she was growing tired of sand, no matter how well she fit in with her surroundings. Every several minutes she would have to bury her face into her tail, shielding her eyes from the occasional gusts of wind. She learned that the hard way. Another thing she hated about sand, it didn't stay on the ground where it belonged. No, it wasn't interested in the ground, it'd much rather fly into Estotia's glossy turquoise eyes.
She cursed herself. The desert was taking its toll on her, and she'd only been traveling through it for a day or two. Sand didn't think, and it didn't care about her. She shook her head and flicked some of the sand from her ears before powering onwards. However, it wasn't long before she paused again.
Surely that was a mirage in the distance? It looked glorious, trees and bushes, jut what she needed for protection from the wind. She couldn't help but be hopeful as she advanced cautiously towards it. It was probably fake, she was certainly seeing things. Although, it wasn't dissolving as she got closer. It wasn't faltering at all, as a matter of fact. She finally leaped over one of the bushes and slunk into the shadows of a tree. She looked about, her mouth dropping at the glorious sight that met her eyes.
Crystalline blue waters, lush greenery and a much calmer breeze. 'I should get lost in the desert more often!' she thought, leaving the shade and loping down to the water's edge. She wasn't a very good swimmer and she wasn't a fan of water, but after a few days with nothing but the taste of sand and lizard, she never thought she'd loved it more. The waving reflection of her face in the water made her smile and she leaned down to take a long drink. The chilly wetness soothed her dry tongue with a welcome sensation.
Once she drank her fill, she stepped back and shook her coat. Content, she rested at the edge of the pool. She couldn't dream of ever leaving.
