His wings beat furiously at the air as the wind draft pushed against him. The Griffin in the distance was getting father and farther away, casting disdainful glances back at him. It was very young and inexperienced. It certainly should not have picked a fight with him. Even though he had been smaller than it, he still had the better experience and tactics in the air to make it turn tail and run. At least it was still a baby. That thing had been around for awhile now and there was no sign of its parents, so they all assumed it was alone. It would only become a real nuisance when it was big enough to pick everyone off one by one. Only then would he worry. Besides, it was too large to get into the forest, so the pups and smaller females would be safe.
Alucio snorted and opened his wings fully, drifting away from the current. He floated downwards steadily until he was about a story higher that the top of the trees. His icy blue eyes were trained on the creature until it vanished in the distance. He hovered for several minutes in the silence, the only sound being his breath and his wings, and waited to see if the small thing would bring back reinforcements of any kind. After minutes of nothing, he relaxed himself. So it was alone and young, but it would be better to kill it now or permanently drive it away. Killing would be the better option. The scent of its blood on the territory would warn others away and he just hoped more of them didn't come in first. Griffins were dangerous beasts.
He lowered himself down into the branches, then folded his wings into his side to allow himself to jump to the ground. The dense branches above closed off the sky to him and he felt secure. He loved the sky greatly, but even he was wary of its near constant dangers. The only things that could get to him in here would be stupid to do so, for he'd climb the trees and exit once more. Sighing, he was about to lay himself down when he heard an odd sound reverberate off the bark of the trees. He listened closer, finding it to be a scream. A very weak one, meaning the screamer was more than likely injured. It also sounded higher pitched, meaning it was a female. Dread filled his chest. Had one of the Eranthe been harmed by something? Just as Ahote wouldn't stand for that, neither would a lot of the males in this pack, him included.
Alucio kicked off from the ground and hurled himself forwards, practically leaping over the roots that entangled the dirt beneath him. His claws raked at the earth, leaving divots as he went, and his wings took down leaves and some bush branches. His heart bounded in his chest frantically against his ribcage and his only will then and there was to reach the one in pain and in need. What he smelled when he managed to skid to a stop felt as though his eyes would melt right out of their sockets. It was so foul. Infection was such a nasty smell and he knew there that the situation was worse than he had wanted it to be. Blood and pain and fear reeked the atmosphere, making his skin tingle with major discomfort. Whatever was feeling that...he was about to see it.
The Keiyou stepped delicately forward and to where the thing was laying. The sight appalled him. Another Keiyou, the fur and flesh torn from her body. Her left wing a skeletal expanse with feathers and skin hanging from it. At least what was left of it. He felt his legs go weak and his stomach knotted immensely. He felt as though he was about to lose his lunch when another scent reached his nostrils. It was underlying the decay and infection that covered the female, one he had smelled before. Recognition bloomed in his eyes. "Hawk...?" He padded closer and lowered his head, trying to block the stench. He was right in front of her now and the moment he saw the sliver of sunset from her eyes, he knew it was her.
He pressed his nose gently to her forehead. A fever... "Hawk...can you hear me? Do you remember who I am? I'm Alucio..."

Perhaps if she allowed sleep to wash over her it would be the end. End of this agonising pain and torture. End of her, Hawk Tharak. This scared her but death would mean a start of an eternal dreamless sleep. With this thought there was something similar to a mirthless smile on her lips. The sound of a running something was getting closer but her ears ignored it. A familiar scent reached her nose but the nose was unable to identify it. The same brown blur that appeared to her so often was in front of her but her eyes did not register it. This was just another of her bothersome dreams. Hopefully this one would be her last. Then she felt a cool touch on her hot forehead. She moaned but ignored it. The feeling of warm physical contact was rather odd. Last one had been that griffin with its downy feathers... Her head jerked backwards and then pain exploded. A frightened, pained cry escaped her raw throat. Was it back? Was it back to torture her some more?! She attempted to scrabble backwards but she ended up as a poor pile on the ground once again. What did it want? Her bright eyes were even brighter and glazed over with fever, fear and pain. They were also unfocused, as if she was seeing something entirely different. She was seeing the griffin again with its deadly hook for a beak... But the scents don't match. No, no, it must be one of that beast's tricks... But the griffin is golden, not brown. Trick, it was a trick. And it doesn't speak. Speak? She peered up at the blurred figure, frightened. It didn't have the same wild scent of that griffin, and it didn't possess the golden sheen of that griffin. And it spoke. She blinked rapidly to clear her sight and there he was. She felt her heart skipped a beat for some reason. Was this wolf the blurred animal that she was searching for before the attack? And a name popped in her mind; Alucio. "... A-Alucio?" Her voice was horribly weak and raw. Then, as if an answer, her body instinctively went limp, except for her head, which she was raising to look at Alucio. This must be him. Whoever he was. Her overly-bright eyes gazed upwards to meet his familiar blue eyes and again she felt the fluttering sensation in her stomach. For the first time in ages, she made a weak but proper smile. She could die properly now that she had someone with her, especially someone that was seemingly so familiar to her. "I... I don't want to be alone." Hawk said, with her voice so weak and so tiny. She peered up at him almost pleadingly as if she expected him to vanish to somewhere. He mustn't. For some reason he was familiar to her and she wanted him to stay close. She was happy that it was him who came along, but regretted that she hadn't really know him. Or she did but she had forgotten. No, it wasn't true. She wouldn't forget this handsome keiyou. The beating of his heart was already erratically fast from believing that one of the females in his pack had been harmed or endangered. What he ended up finding instead made the heartbeat worse, his breathing labored further. The female he had met once and only once had showed up injured on his pack's territory. He did care, even through their one meeting. She was a fine woman and he respected her as he did others, but something had happened. When Rava had been attacked by Zubayr, he promised her the situation would be dealt with immediately and that if he ever saw the scoundrel himself, he'd leave nasty scars.
He was not expecting the reaction he had received from her when he placed his nose on her forehead. Even from the short distance away that he was, he could feel the heat of the fever. He jumped, fur and feathers ruffled, when she tried to scramble backwards and fell into a pile in pain. "Hawk, please remain still... Don't harm yourself... I won't hurt you..." He wanted so desperately for her to believe him, for her to relax and see that everything would be all right. He wouldn't hurt her. He would never hurt a female unless ultimately forced to, for it was against his morals to do such things. Only when she uttered his name did he feel a shred of hope.
She did know who he was. He leaned down and licked her forehead gently. "I'm here. Don't worry, I'm here." He watched her muscles relax and her head crane towards him. Despite his panic, he received the gesture with a warm heart. He pressed his nose to her own for a few seconds, allowing himself to feel that she was there and alive. There was still a chance he could save her, but he could not think of a way how. Her injuries were incredibly extensive and he was no healer, nor did he have any experience with herbs of any sort. He was at a loss. Here, this beautiful young woman was dying and he could do nothing about it.
Alucio stared at her in wonder. Alone? She didn't want to be alone? Is that why she came back? Or was there some meaning behind that he didn't understand? "I'm not going anywhere, Hawk. You aren't alone anymore. I will stay right here." Even though he would stay where he was for her sake, he didn't know what to do, who to call to help heal her. He was confused and clueless. The mighty, handsome Keiyou felt very clueless in those moments. He stepped back and, unknowing of what else he could do, he threw his head back and released a massive howl from his chest. 'Members of the Enclave! I need a healer immediately! Please, someone is fatally injured! I need help! Please...'
The call stopped. It was all he could do. He stepped closer and sat down in front of the female, resting his nose on the top of her head. "Keep talking to me, Hawk... what did this to you?" He had to keep her awake, until someone showed up.

Ariana had been sleeping soundly within the female Home Tree, she had stayed there for a number of days, how many? She had no clue. She had run here awhile ago on the night when Nautic confessed his love for her. The words had shocked her for she never saw it coming, but she still loved Eden, never stopped loving him even though he was gone. She knew she couldn't love Nautic, no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't. She couldnt bear to face him after so she ran, ran all the way back to the tree where she could sort out her feelings and thoughts in peace.
Ari had spent her time thinking, thinking of everything in her past from beginning to end, of everything she had and everything she has, everyone she loved and lost. Then after a few days later she finally, after 50 years had decided to make an attempt to move on. She wasn't sure if she could do it, but she had promised herself and her lost loved ones to at least try, she knew it was what they would want.
Letting out a long sigh she heaved herself to her feet figuring that she should probably go outside and enjoy a nice calming walk but only getting to the entrance when that thought was destroyed with an urgent call directed at her. Someone was obviously hurt really badly and needed her immediately. Wasting no time she took off running towards the place where the howl had sounded from. Her lithe form and sure footing made her a good runner and a fast one at that. Finally bursting through the trees and into the clearing only stopping just a few feet away, in shock by what she saw.
She could see the dark form of what appeared to be a keiyou laying on the ground covered in wounds and large gashes with one wing totally ravaged. Another male keiyou hovered over her speaking gently hoping to soothe the poor thing, she didnt know the males name but he was familiar. Slowly approaching them so as not to startle the female, pausing in front of the male, dipping her head politely. "I am Ariana, the healer. Do you know what has happened here?" Glancing back down at the injured keiyou, a wave of pity rushing over her, feeling terribly sorry for what had happened and wanting to relieve her of pain as quick as possible.
(OOC: well there you have it, sorry for the wait just been so busy with everything anways...On with the thread! (: )

Her voice was painfully tiny and almost inaudible. "I- It was a... griffin." For the first time a thought of her surviving this ordeal crossed her tired mind. But the new hope that had refreshed her body disappeared as quickly as it had appeared when the injured keiyou thought she saw how lost Alucio was. Perhaps it was a trick of her strained mind but she didn't think so, after all she knew if they swapped places she would panic. Don't worry, she wanted to tell him, don't worry, I'll be fine. I would look like I'm sleeping. But her voice failed to say these thoughts out aloud. Hawk felt the warmth ebbing away as Alucio moved backwards, and through the heavy pulsing of blood rushing through her ears she could hear his urgent, summoning howl. He must be calling for help. Perhaps she should keep hoping. Someone will come, but who would it be? It must be a healer as she could faintly recall the reason of the howl. She expected to wait for a few more minutes if not hours as it was rather unlikely to have a wolf that was capable of healing having a walk around here. How wrong she was. When a vibrant sennyo approached with a familiar concern of a healer on her face Hawk had never been so pleased about being wrong. This didn't show, though as she kept scrabbling around to find a comfortable position with regular jolts of pain shooting down from her useless wing. If the healer could not fix her, she didn't want to die in an awkward position. She moved around quite sharply and fast to look at the healer properly and her wing reacted violently. Then Hawk fell to ground again on her bad wing and she cried out. Finally beaten by pain, exhaustion and fever she started to breath heavily, each words were strangling her: "F... fu... th... this! I... I'm... dying... he... here!" She raised her head with her bleared eyes staring at the healer, intending her gaze to appear indignant but her eyes looked frightened. The movement of her head sent another bout of pain racked her body and she squirmed, submitting herself to this great pain. Blacks dots revealed themselves to her sight and she finally stopped moving, waiting for the dark unconsciousness, or even death, to envelop her. Before this, she gave Alucio a fleeting desperate look, asking him not to leave her alone. [/blockquote][/ul]
