E X P L A N A T I O N S | | [atrb=width,200][bg=ccdd77] Jester | [bg=C6C07A]The Jesters are the wolves that call the shots and lead the pack in the general direction of fame and desire. They are also usually the only wolf that can decide what ability or power another pack member holds. Up to three may be present at once, during the annual festival it is possible for those ranked as new chosen to go to a final round to compete for any open Jester position. To be a Jester takes commitment to the pack and an open mind to its customs. Mates may NOT both hold a Jester position as their opinions often effect each other too greatly.
| | [bg=ccdd77] Elder | [bg=A8A368]Sharing ranks with the chosen, to make it past prime years and still be kicking is an honor given from the great spirit himself and thus those who gain enough experience become elders. They are past their fame but are still remembered for the pleasure they brought to the pack when it was younger. Sometimes even jesters step down from their reign to allow new talent to take their place, all elders are given the most respect and it is looked up upon to help them when needed, though it is not necessary.
| | [bg=ccdd77] Chosen | [bg=C6C07A]The chosen are a select group of individuals that have been ranked by the Jesters themselves as "the best at what they do". While many can be "One" of something, only one maybe "Chosen" of it. Each year an annual festival is held and wolves perform in their art to see who is the best of the best and the winners of such competitions are promoted to "Chosen of" instead of "One of". These wolves are the go to for what they are chosen in. With this rank comes great fame and acknowledgement.
| | [bg=ccdd77] Ones | [bg=A8A368]When a wolf has decided what they are best in or what the Jester feels they are best in, they are promoted to "One of" that ability. These wolves are usually loyal members who stick with the pack as it grows but can retain positions in other packs as well. Most return during the annual festival to try out for a rank of chosen to bring back to their home pack to prove themselves. But only those that remain in Sono Nyx can actually hold and keep the chosen position. Any other "one" from another pack that obtains the rank will stay as "One of" but will still receive the recognition of a chosen, the wolf second to them that is loyal to the pack automatically becomes the actual chosen.
| | [bg=ccdd77] Sonogate | [bg=C6C07A]The sonogate are the base of the pack and while are new blood and do not have much to be known for, they are where every wolf begins in the Sono Nyx. They must work their way up from Sonogate to find out where they truly belong in the pack and most outsiders or traveling loners from other packs may easily hold this position if they simply want to attend the festivals and participate in the nightly parties. They just have to make an oath to abide by the pack's rules while on their lands.
| | [bg=ccdd77] Training | [bg=A8A368]These wolves are the pups that are working their way up into what they want to become when they get older. Until they are sure of themselves they are automatically ranked "Pup in Training" which is to let the rest of the pack know that they are simply enjoying their life as a pup without the worries of fame and recognition. When they decide what they want to go into or if they are lucky enough to be blessed by the great spirit at a young age or birth... "one"s or sometimes even "chosen" of that pups desired ability will offer to mentor and teach their ways to the next generation to better prepare themselves.
| | [bg=ccdd77] Banished | [bg=C6C07A]Though the Sono Nyx is a fairly forgiving pack and loves its members dearly... some wolves never learn and continue to break the rules. Those who violate the rules and mock the rest of the pack are deemed banished and can never return to the land. They may try but it will take a long time and possibly even generations to clear their name and earn the pack's trust again. It is fame in a way, but no pack will ever take in a wolf with the Sono Nyx's way of gossip. It's best to try and follow the simple rules to keep from obtaining this rank at all costs.
