Nagami trotted along an old and well-worn path. She stopped at an entrance to a cave. Nagami looked inside and saw something silvery and white shining inside the cave. She cautiously poked her head into the entrance of the cave to see what it was, but couldn't see exactly what it was.
"Hmm." Nagami said. "Maby if I use my gravity power on myself, I could slowly float downward onto the floor. "
Nagami consentrated on herself, and how gravity was pulling her downward. She took a deep breath, and stepped forward. She dropped like a rock. "Ouch!" She said, licking a scrape on her thigh. She looked up and saw herself looking into the grinning face of a skull!
Nagami quickly scooted backwards to put as much distance between her and the skull. She looked around into the darkness. She couldn't just go off into the dark, and the cave entrance was too high up to get to. Nagami was stuck, alone in a cave with a skeleton that probably died of the same thing!
"Help! I'm stuck!" Nagami shouted, hoping someone would hear. She listened for a moment, then slumped down in defeat. She looked over at the wall and saw deep claw marks carved into the wall. She looked more carefully, and saw that they were arranged in a way that reminded her of a map. Then she realised it WAS a map. There was a small square next to the area wher she was. Nagami looked to her left and saw a jar full of a glowing rock and a moss that glowed green. She realised that she had a chance of escaping.
Nagami padded over to the map and began planning her route . Unfortunately, she couldn't remember the layout. She needed someone that had a good memory.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | |The albino keiyou was lying down on a rock, completely exposed to the scorching sun. He was sleeping, until a few moments ago when he was rudely awoken by heat of the sun on his body. Groggily, he lifted his head to look around, momentarily confused; why was he here, and why did everything smell like sea? He blinked several times to allow his pink eyes to adjust to the sudden brightness of the day, and slowly, his memory returned. He had enough of slinking along the borders of the Children, waiting to stir something up, and decided to have a break from sneaking around. Yvit Cove was a beautiful place for an old wolf such as himself, even though he didn't look like it thanks to his eternal youth, to clear his mind. He raised his muzzle skywards to stretch his shaggy white neck before spreading his majestic pearl wings open. Draugur stood up and shook himself with his wings still unfolded and yawned, revealing his pale pink tongue. Now what to do? Perhaps he could explore?
Draugur had been here only once or twice, but never felt like exploring this serene place. After all, he was a High Chief of the Children and this responsibility had never allowed him to explore much. He flicked his lion tail once before breaking into a trot, with his pale nose in air, prepared to catch any interesting scent. His ears twitched regularly to capture any sound, but he heard nothing; it was too quiet, except for the lapping sea. This silence unnerved him as he was too used to the rowdy noises of the pack and of the spirits around him. He blinked once, his eyes lightened with a realisation, the spirits hadn't been around for ages. Was he finally cured? His wings fell slightly with that guess, shouldn't he be happy? Now he could have more than one good night sleep without nightmares occurring. But, without them, he would be really, finally alone, something he hadn't been ever since he left his pack (Draugur refused to think that he had been banished). A frown marred his handsome young face slightly, what would he do now? He knew he wasn't the wolf who tend to hide away from others; in fact he was only entertained whenever he poked fun at others.
Soon a strange scent shoved these thoughts out of his head, and Draugur realised that he had taken that old path instead of the main path leading to the beach. Suddenly a small voice exclaimed from somewhere nearby, causing his ears to perk forwards in curiosity. He stopped moving, and lowered his nose to ground, hoping to capture any pack scent. As far as he could tell, this wolf must be a loner, probably lost or something, judging from the cry. The male keiyou resumed moving and soon he discovered that the scent had gotten stronger once he passed a hole. A cave mouth. Tilting his head, he crept to the cave to have a peek inside. A gleaming white thing was staring up at him, and that thing resembled to a wolf skull strongly. Perhaps it was a skull but it was too dark to tell. Something started to prickle at the back of his brain, the sensation was familiar yet strange. Draugur shrugged it off and allowed his nose to lead him to the loner inside the cave.
He was extremely small for a keiyou so it wasn't a squeeze for him to enter the cave. Once his eyes adjusted to the sudden darkness he saw a moving figure below him looking completely lost. He quickly saw that this wolf had no way back outside since the drop beneath his paws was quite steep. Draugur's mouth stretched into a disdainful smirk. "Nice place you've got there. Oh, that's one handsome wolf. Or should I say was?" He added, flicking his tail towards the skull. |

Nagami looked up, seeing a wolf with fur as white as snow, but slightly ragged. She hadn't sensed anything approaching, and was even more creeped out. She wanted to speak, but she didn't know of the stranger's intentions. She smiled faintly and glanced toward the skull, saying, "Hmm, I'll have to think about that." Nagami felt strangely sarcastic. Maybe it was from the situation. Nagami turned back toward the crude map and continued mesmerizing the scratches. A bat swooped overhead, causing her to jump. She was reminded of a small furry dragon with large ears.
Nagami realized how pathetic she must look, and tried to make it look as if she meant to fall in. "What kind of wolf is this?" She said, looking over to the skull. She started walking toward the keiyou. She looked meaningfully at his wings. "Do those still work?"She started to dig a small hole in the floor, working furiously. She slowly uncovered some stones that must have fallen from the entrance. "If so, please fly in here and give me a hand." Nagami took a stone in her jaws and placed it to her left. She slowly made a small pile next to the entrance, hoping to build some kind of ramp to jump off of. The pile trembled and fell, causing Nagami to jump back. She sighed, and started to walk into another tunnel. "I guess I'll have to try the map."
Nagami sniffed the dark tunnel, and squinted. Luckily, there was a small hole in the top of the tunnel, allowing sunlight to shine through. She was startled to see a cliff leading into a even larger cavern. The floor was smooth, suggesting that there once was a river or lake there. Nagami took another pathway leading to even more tunnel options. She was starting to wish she had never left the skull-room. The odd young wolf that seemed older than he looked was probably laughing at her right now. She looked into the tunnels, hoping to see something that might signal the way out. Nothing.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | | Now that his pink eyes were fully adjusted to the deep darkness of the cave, he could spot the odd lines on the wall and the strange glowing moss. They were rather odd objects to encounter upon entering the cave. But... perhaps they were put there on purpose to help visitors, or rather victims, somehow? He twitched his ears and dragged his gaze from the objects back to the black stranger, the smirk on his face widening. "Oh, your mother perhaps?" He flicked his tail once to show his scorn. But, really, this was an interesting question; the skull wasn't too broad, so this eliminated yagi from the list, so perhaps a keiyou or lupus. Most species had similar skeleton (if you didn't count the wings and horns), except for sennyo, lumen, and lyxxus which were too slender and small. Whoever this skull belonged to, all he knew that it was a sole remain of an unfortunate victim. He quickly brushed it off as it was a topic he didn't like to talk about. Death never was a pleasant topic for him to chat about.
Draugur laughed at the lupus' statement: "Oh, no, no, no. See this coat. It's clean for a reason as I don't want to end up black, like you. It's not a good colour for me, you know?" He sat down and pressed his wings firmly close to his sides to show his decision. His brows lowered a bit into a light frown of curiosity as he watch this wolf fumbling around, doing something. Soon it became apparent that she was attempting to create a stair of stones to reach her freedom. The albino keiyou just tilted his head, watching her building the ramp slowly but steadily, however he did nothing to help her. This would be interesting to watch, to see whether she had succeed or not. If not, well, both of them knew she would have to search for a way out through those tunnels. Some wolves that live around here had those tunnels mapped out in their minds, but as for this stranger, Draugur doubted that she had. She looked too lost and confused to be confident. Therefore he knew if she risked entering those tunnels she would also be risking her life. That skull was a warning.
He chortled when the rock pile crumbled apart into nothing. "Looks like you'll have to make yourself comfortable for a while. At least until someone rescues you." His words were enough to warn her that he planned to do nothing to help her. Survival was tough and there was no way he would interfere with the natural process. Nature was good with helping wiping out useless wolves; sometimes a wolf wasn't strong enough, or even clever enough, to survive the cruel grip of Mother Nature. But then sometimes a wolf was sly, or lucky, enough to escape death. He wasn't sure which wolf this stranger was, but her determination was admirable. Soon after watching her observing the gouges on the wall, calling it a map (which it could be), he found himself rooting for her. Her strong will and courage were something he found intriguing.
Draugur wasn't well known because of his courage so when he saw the black wolf disappearing into a tunnel he was greatly surprised. Was she really willing to risk her life just to search for freedom? There's bats here so she could eat whenever she wanted and live as long as she could, trapped in this cavern so why would she risk her life? His tail lashed wildly behind him, eager to know the outcome of this challenge nature had provided for this young female. "Oi! Wait, come back! Are you seriously going to kill yourself?" He called out for her, partly because he wanted to ask her something, partly because he didn't want to let her go just yet. If he did, he would be alone again. As he waited, his pink gaze kept darting to the skull and away again and again. Its grinning face unnerved him and whenever he saw it he felt the familiar buzzing and prickling sensation at the back of his head. As if someone was behind him, watching his back...

Nagami heard the keiyou's warning before she went in. But she didn't want to seem helpless. Well, now she was lost. She turned around and saw that while she was checking out the tunnels, it seemed like the walls had moved. They hadn't, of course. It just seemed that way. Still, it was confusing. Nagami heard a clutter in the tunnel to her right, and took that one. (At the time, she didn't really care about bats.)
She entered a large cavern, obviously unentered for the fact that there was still stalagmites sitting on the floor, unbroken. The white wolf had probably assumed she was dead by now. Nagami certainly was not going to be helped by him. She sat down and thought about how no one entered here. If a wolf came in here, it probably didn't get out just because there was no warning, meaning that any unfortunate wolf that got here died, or worse. If this tunnel hadn't been taken, and other wolves somehow got trapped taking the other one, then it makes since to take this one.
Nagami saw a small but purchasable ledge next to a drop-off. She slowly climbed down to it. What now? There was another ledge, or maybe a rock, under her. She leaped down there and onto the floor. She slipped slightly due to the moist rock, and fell on top of a small mound of rock. She kinda went, "oof." and lost her breath for a second. Even a little oof sounds loud in a echo y cave, and soon woke up the bats. They screeched and flew out of the cave. Wait, flew out? Nagami knew they had to go somewhere, and she followed the black cloud, hoping to find a way out. She was stopped by a large underground lake. "Hmm.." She said. "Underground lakes are mostly shallow, so maybe I can wade across." Nagami stepped into the lake. Cold, oily water went up to her dewclaws. She shivered, and continued to cross. Soon she had water up to her chest, then back, then neck. After that it seemed like the lake was at it's deepest point. She waded all the way across, and shook out her pelt. She then saw light at the end of the cavern. In her excitement, she exclaimed, "YES!" and that caused a rumbling sound. The cave was collapsing!
Nagami hurriedly ran to the exit, dodging bits of rock and debris raining from the ceiling. She had almost made it to the exit, when a large piece of rock hit her on the leg. Limping now, Nagami came out of the cave. She leaned against a boulder, nursing her wound. "ha," she thought. She'd like to see the look on that white wolf's face now.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | | After waiting for a few but long moments, Draugur finally concluded that the female either was too far away to hear him or simply ignored his call. "Stupid girl." He shrugged and stood up to leave the cave. She looked young so why would she throw her life away? He sniffed; whatever her reasons were, it was her life she was giving away after all. Perhaps she would be lucky today. He gave the skull a last glance before exiting the cave. The pricking at the back of his brain was growing wilder and intenser with every passing second. Frowning, he whipped around and saw nothing, except for an innocent butterfly fluttering along. His lips twitched, and his eyes glared at it accusingly, not entirely satisfied with what he had seen. Now that the cave mouth was directly behind him, the prickling sensation increased tenfold. Draugur released a small growl, and sat down to scratch his back with his hind leg. As he moved his leg up to scratch he felt the cold, unearthly breeze blowing at him. He froze, with his eyes wide until he realised what it was. So he wasn't alone after all. A smirk was back on his pale lips again as he turned, knowing what he would see. As usual, he saw nothing except for something, a silhouette perhaps, out of focus in the corner of his eye. But he could see it clearly in his mind. A spirit. Probably the spirit who had left that skull.
The air around it was dark and miserable, the familiar signs of the spirit who had died a tragic death. They were unpleasant to have as company, however in his current situation, Draugur would be happy with any spirit. "Hello there." He smiled at the gloomy spirit, and then he received an ear-splitting caterwaul as a reply. Lovely. He flattened his ears and wrinkled his muzzle: "You don't get much visitors around here, do you?" He shrugged and started to move again with every confidence that the spirit would follow him. Sure enough, it did, but not silently. "A piece of advice; if you do get a visitor, do not scream at them." He snorted, "No wonder you don't have much visitors around here." A sudden loud crash shattered the air, splitting through the wailing of the spirit. Draugur looked around fast that he cricked his neck and saw the dust smoke billowing out of the cave steadily. He stood still, staring at the smoke speechlessly for a while before smiling at his company. "Shame about your home. At least you don't have to scream alone anymore; someone went into there... Well, she couldn't have survived that collapse." He flicked his tail lightly. So Mother Nature had claimed another life and, if he was being honest, he wasn't surprised. The female was too foolhardy and confident. A shame, really, as he liked her and he didn't think she should have lost her life. But unfortunately, life was cruel.
Draugur blinked once before turning to continue walking, with the spirit still at his heel. His gait was light and happy, showing no grief or disappointment for this female's death. A smile was back on his face, which only faltered whenever the scream reached its peak. "Don't you ever shut up?" He looked up at heavens, almost despairingly, before looking back at the spirit, with a pitying expression on his face; "If you were this bad in life, I pity your family." He could feel anger and hurt radiating from the silhouette, which only encouraged smirk to return on his face. And then a familiar scent reached his nostrils and this had wiped the smirk off his lips. Surely not? Draugur glanced around at the spirit and, to his surprise, he felt smugness. His brows knitted together into a frown as he went to the source of the scent. Surely not. When he saw her, he had to stare at her to ensure that she wasn't a spirit. After a minute of intense staring, he confirmed that she was alive, but bleeding. Hastily he replaced the look of confusion to a look of jubilation, "You survived!" Despite his joyful front, Draugur's shock had dissolved into a seething anger. This was why the spirit was so smug before. "But not entirely." He snickered at her wound.

"You survived!" Someone said. Nagami looked over and was startled at the sudden appearance of the white keiyou. "But not entirely."
Nagami mostly ignored him, and focused more on her leg. There was a wound that wasn't too wide, but very deep. She looked closer at the cut and found small bits of stone imbedded in it. "Great,"she said out loud. "Another bum leg." Hopefully the wound would eventually heal back to normal. Nagami looked at the white keiyou. "Why did you try to call me back? It isn't like you were going to help me." Nagami stood up shakily and started twisting bits of tall grass around her leg. "Also, at least tell me your name if you want to keep appearing whenever I need help just to laugh at my own demise."
She then started walking away toward the direction of the key cliffs. "Well, I'm going to the rest of this place." Nagami knew that she had to keep moving to get to the packs. She felt odd about this place, and couldn't wait to get out. Nagami soon realized how hungry she was. She drank from a stream, attempted to eat grass, and tried to eat some local bugs. She couldn't catch the larger prey on account of her leg, and soon was fed up with the poor diet. Nagami sat down. A bird flew overhead. "A bird. Of course!" Nagami thought.
When the bird was still in the air, Nagami thought about gravity. Gravity that pulls stuff down. If she could just increase the gravity just a little bit, she could pull the bird down. The bird flew just above her, but in a flash, the bird was somehow pinned on the ground unable to move. Greedily Nagami killed the bird, and ate it. But she did one thing. She hung the bones in a tree. She stood back. It would hold long enough to serve it's purpose. To be a warning for other wolves.
Nagami was suddenly spooked about the similarities between the skull and the skeleton. She backed away, and kept on walking toward the cliffs, making each step faster than the next.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | | Draugur moved closer to the stranger, getting a clear view of her wound. It was rather deep and he smiled at her remark about 'bum leg'. He was neither a healer, nor a fighter but from what he knew about wounds (which was very limited), the black female's wound seemed clean and clear so perhaps she won't have another 'bum leg'. His smile slowly transformed into a smirk as he thought about himself and how he had received very little wounds throughout his lifetime. Not by luck, of course. Draugur tended to avoid any possible skirmishes and unnecessary conflicts, preferring to use his words to win a fight than using his body. Well, his body was not built for fighting or any strenuous physical activities; he was tiny and lean for his species and, from his last fight with Reynard, he realised that even a tall, thin wolf could best him. Draugur sat down and his pale albino coat, unmarked and unnaturally clean, shone brightly under the intense sun, and thought that, despite his small build, his appearance could be useful sometimes. He was young-looking and handsome keiyou at the prime of his life, and he was able to persuade few females with few smooth words and some seductive movements of his body easily. Siren was an example: Draugur had wanted her to join his pack to be his Queen and she quickly accepted quickly, calling him her knight. He smiled. Actually, despite everything, he did miss her.
Draugur blinked to the stranger's question but he was able to reply without any hesitation: "Because I was bored." He grinned and shrugged, "Some company would be lovely. But it doesn't matter now, I'm not alone anymore." He flashed her a knowing glance, obviously referring to the spirit that was still accompanying him, but of course, this stranger, unless she happened to have necromancy too, did not know this. Suddenly, he white keiyou laughed at the black lupus' next remark, which he had a great difficulty in disguising it into an appalled look: "Laugh at your demise? Oh, I would not do that." Then he paused, but only his lips moved, stretching into a confident simper. "Draugur at your service, madam." His body moved into an exaggerated bowing position and winked at her. "Now may I know your name?" Even Draugur found his politeness odd. Perhaps he was growing more relaxed now he knew he wasn't going to be alone any time soon. Or perhaps he was just in a really good mood. Either way, it did not mean something good for this female. Whatever his intentions were, he knew for sure that this female was his prey. For what, he did not know just yet so he would just keep an eye on her for now.
"Oh, sure, good idea. I don't think the skull is being nice anymore." Draugur raised one of his brows at the gap-mouthed spirit which had started to cry again. It was getting increasingly harder for him to pick up the female's words. "Let me accompany you to your destination." So the keiyou went with the lupus, watching her every movements boredly. Soon it became apparent that this female wasn't as interesting as he had initially thought she would be. She did not have the same fire that was in her when they were at the caves. As he watched her gobbling stuff up he wondered if it was because of her hunger. They had walked for a while yet the spirit hadn't left his heels; it was acting as if it was watching him (loudly), and suddenly a ridiculous thought appeared in his mind. It was acting as if it was this girl's guardian angel. Draugur smiled to himself, somehow this idea was too ridiculously hilarious for him.
Once the black wolf had planted the skeleton of a bird in a tree, she hurried away. Draugur, who did not want to leave this female just yet, followed her just as quickly but not silently. "Where do you plan to go next?" He waggled his brows. "Because I heard the jungle is a particular nice place to be at." His lips formed a conceited smile which vanished into a polite half-smile as he spoke the next sentence: "Of course if that's where you want to go." As he said this, a jolt of realisation shot through him. He had missed being in the centre of a female's attention. Rhiannon was nice, but she had puppies and they required her attention constantly. Lupa, the other recent female he had seen, was wonderfully feisty but he did not like the way their meeting had ended. Since those two girls, he hadn't seen any other females and this explained why he was feeling particular courteous today. Draugur just wanted a special attention from a girl.

Nagami was surprised by his response. Bored? He could fly. To Nagami, that was the ultimate gift. Freedom of gravity, the gravity she herself knew so well. His face had a fleeting emotion at the next question but it quickly turned to something else. "Laugh at your demise?"He asked, appalled."Oh, I wouldn't do that." He lowered his body into an exaggerated bow. "Draugur at your service, madam. May I know your name now?" Somehow being polite made Nagami even more unsure about what he might want.
She had no idea what he was referring to as the skull. He looked meaningfully at an empty space next to him.
Nagami stopped walking."My name is Nagami." She called. "I am going towards the forest around here. I have no intentions of going towards the jungle." Nagami looked sideways over towards the white wolf. Naturally curious, she wondered why he wanted her in the jungle. "Of course, I would be interested in going as long as you give me a good reason to go there anyway."
|
Nagami stepped towards him a little. Obviously this was some kind of joke. This...Draugur didn't quite seem right. "Although I can't help but be slightly suspicious. Why would you, a wolf who obviously has something better to do, follow me? You aren't...Lonely, are you?" Nagami started to feel frustrated. She had enjoyed the company for a while, but now she was irritated. Why was he following her? Nagami looked him in the eye. She stood a little taller than before. She now was used to her unexpected emotions. She may have insulted him, and she was ready for anything. Nagami looked over at where he kept on looking. There was nothing there. Her grandfather had taught her of spirits and ghosts, but Nagami had never really believed in them. Could he see one, right now? She was begging to ask him, but she didn't want to. Not now. She thought of the jungles. She could easily get lost there. Who was this wolf -- really? Was he someone who enjoyed others pain, and did he want to see more? Or was he someone who just enjoyed company? [/blockquote]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | | Draugur turned to look at this Nagami properly, now that she had a name. Her coat appeared black but shone blue-ish with lighter bands around her ankles, an elegant swirl on her shoulder and lighter underbelly. Her eyes were shining blue, very blue with some kind of hidden intelligence within. Draugur's pink gaze slide slowly from Nagami's muzzle to her tail, taking in every little details. He stopped at her lame leg, not from the recent cave wound but from an old injury, and saw how the foot appeared so odd. Twisted probably. Yet, it did not seem to disturb Nagami very much. A silent smile appeared on the albino wolf's pale lips, from what he had seen, this dark female was quite beautiful and strong willed. Not bad.
"No jungle?" Draugur shrugged, to show that this was just a suggestion, nothing else. "No, no, of course, the forest is rather beautiful but it is nothing compared to the jungle." He moved closer with another smirk on his face, "You've never been to a jungle before, have you? He paused for a moment, watching her carefully, waiting for her answer. Then he decided against it, and continued in a dreamy voice (which was, of course, faked well to enhance the effect); "Think of the most colourful place you've been and then imagine a place that is twice as colourful. That is the jungle where your imaginations linger. Every plants are different: broad, spiralled, circular, and even frilled. They come in red, orange, purple, blue, white, and of course, green. Imagine hearing various calls of various mysterious animals: toucans, monkeys, flying squirrels, and parrots. You'll smell many scents, most which are nothing like you've experienced before. Oh, the jungle is a living rainbow, with -" He broke off, before speaking again but more slowly, "Well, of course, you don't want to visit the jungle now." He smiled up at her.
Nagami stepped towards Draugur, looking a bit suspicious: "Lonely?" His mouth broke into a wide toothed smile, "Nah. Well, I was, but I'm not anymore. Not just because of you." He shushed at her, and looked around her as if to check for any possible eavesdroppers. This act was so obviously exaggerated, "I'm a necromancer." His eyes widened and he nodded before returning to his usual facial expression of arrogance; "Oh and there's a ghost behind you." He smiled as if he had delivered an excellent news. "And that ghost is the reason I'm not alone anymore. He is a poor company but a company nevertheless." He retreated, a simper developing on his muzzle; "However, you're alone. Or at least you will be once I've gone. That is the difference between us; me, I'm never alone, and you, you will be alone sometimes." His brows rose and he stepped backwards a little more. "But if you still want me to leave, just say the word. But I'm sure you'll miss me." With the final sentence he gave her a wink.

Necromancer. The word was familiar. Nagami's grandfather had taught her much about these wolves and their ability to see spirits. Nagami shivered slightly. Right behind her? She spun around to look even though she knew that nothing was there. That she could see. She looked over at Draugur. "Don't the Mafia live at the jungle?" She remembered Reynard's warning. The Mafia sounded like they would tear her apart for any reason.
"I'm sure that they wouldn't appreciate intruders."

Nagami still felt slightly like running away. She remembered a time ago when she had been training with her grandfather. He had shown her that some wolves would not listen to reason, and will do anything to kill. Nagami turned towards the direction of the forest. "I'm going." The ground was hot and dry, and she remembered the ghost. Was is still with her? She couldn't help but think that there was a reason why it was here. It almost felt like it was following her to keep someone else away. Someone who could see it. Nagami's ears twitched as a bug buzzed past. It suddenly stopped in front of a patch of air, and went around it. Nagami just kept on going. To the trees. I will go to the trees.[/blockquote]

Draugur laughed to himself when Nagami looked around nervously, apparently searching for any ghost. She was not a necromancer, so obviously she did not see anything there. It was funny to see wolves getting nervous whenever they know there were some spirits around. Contrary to popular belief, ghosts were mostly harmless, unless they chose to possess you or whatever. In his opinion, it was foolish to be scared of something that could not touch or affect you in any way. He moved much closer to her, and now her side was just inches away from his own and her scent hit her. She wasn't a loner as he had originally thought. There was a familiar hint of a pack he knew well, so well. "... Oh! Don't be so nervous, he won't hurt you!" As he tried to ignore her scent, he decided to concentrate on reassuring her. It was true, the ghost was harmless, unlike the Mafia. Now the Mafia was something to get worried about with a bunch of bloodthirsty killers residing in this pack. It was a shame that the Hellion Mafia had chosen to pollute the beautiful Salnero Jungle. "Uh, no, they don't. But if we stick close to the borders, I'm sure they will not bother us." It was half true. In most packlands, sticking close to the pack borders would prevent most pack wolves from being territorial, but the Mafia, on the other hand, would attack most wolves on sight. They had no morals, no common sense, no empathy. Basically they were just primitive brutes who liked the taste of blood.
Nagami's next statement distracted Draugur from his thoughts, Oh, already? He wasn't desperate for company anymore now that he had got his own ghostly companion. Not just that, the faint scent of the Children had shaken and sickened him. How and where did Reynard get those new wolves to join? These questions had bothered him badly; they stirred hatred and spite inside him, encouraging them to explode. When Draugur was the High Chief, his pack had dwindled in size, but now, with Reynard in charge, the Children was one of the biggest packs, if not the biggest. He retreated from the black female and shrugged as he spoke stiffly, "Good bye, Nagami. I am pleased to make your acquaintance" He turned from her and spoke over his shoulder cockily, "Heel, boy!". As he watched the ghost approaching him loudly, there was a single thought in his mind. It was how to bring Reynard down. The lanky keiyou was ancient and so frail so it should not be too difficult.
Angel was his initial plan but since he hadn't seen her turning up for a long time, he had put this plan to rest for now. Perhaps Draugur could badmouth his old Chief. It would be extremely petty and childish, but the reason he was doing this was also petty and childish too anyway. Spinning around, he called out at Nagami with a peculiar edge to his voice, "Hey, I have known Reynard for a long time. He--" He paused, uncertain to say more. There was a possibility of him damaging the Children... If he chose to continue, Draugur would destroy his own creation. A little part of his mind told him that he could save them and they would hail him as the Children's saviour. Ah, that thought was delicious, so delicious that he decided to continue. "... Just be... careful around him. He's not what he seems." He spoke carefully, keeping a serious look on his face. But once he turned around, his face hidden from Nagami, there was a tiniest smile on his lips.
