If he suddenly gained control of his limbs, it wouldn't be too soon in Agni's humble opinion. This incident, his legs crossed over each other and tangled uncomfortably underneath his body, is nothing new, not that it ever gets less annoying. Agni had been tracking a group of wolves to offer his services as per usual when he had been forced to jump a log. Unfortunately, the coordination required for such a feat wasn't within Agni's skill set and therefore his current predicament had been the result as it usually unfailingly was. After several minutes of sullen concentration, and a deftness that spoke of experience, Agni finally untangled himself and lurched upright, a huff of breath escaping him as he was finally righted. However, when Agni went to pick up the scent again he found that his involuntary break in concentration had been enough for him to loose the trail.
Growling under his breath, a gust of wind started up that was clearly unnatural. The air had been so still only seconds before that it was unclear as to where the wind was coming from. An observer would be baffled as to what was happening. Agni had experience with this phenomenon and knew exactly where it was coming from. Thankfully, exasperation edged into his consciousness, chasing away the more negative pull of aggravation, and soon enough the phantom wind that had been ruffling his fur finally ceased, much to Agni's relief.
Finally, as his emotions evened out, Agni allowed himself to assess his surroundings. It would seem his tracking had lead him fairly far and the soil beneath his paws was giving way to sand. Seemed he was near some body of water. His mother had always admonished him to pay better attention when he was tracking, otherwise he'd get lost. However, even her light admonishments hadn't been able to break through that habit, and now here he was, proving her right.

Leo padded along the sandy beach, sniffing the salty air for the scent of prey. He had been exploring the area for a few days, and he had seen some prey. Particularly winged fish, that he saw leaping out of the water and into the air, at a tremendous speed. He had made no attempt to catch them, knowing it was easier to hunt them when they were migrating, and that he would have to get wet to be able to catch them. He didn’t particularly enjoy water anyway, but salty sea water was something he had no desire to engulf his body in. The stench would stick to him for days. He came across many old scent trails, too old for tracking. The animals that had left them would be long gone. He even picked up the scent of a group of wolves, although it was faded. Not that he had any interest in following them. He kept walking, occasionally stopping to sniff the air. After a while, he picked up a fresh scent. He followed it, slowing his pace so that he moved silently. He lowered his body to the sand, even though he was aware that his dark body stood out. It was a jackalope. His eyes scanned the area. He knew that the small animal had an advantage when it came to speed. Leo could never hope to outrun a jackalope, but he could outsmart it. If he could spot the animal, than he could herd it into a corner. He finally spotted it. It was larger than the average jackalope, so it was probably male. It was a light brown colour, and blended in with the sand. It hadn’t spotted him, or smelt him, so he had the advantage. He realised that there was only two places it could go. Further into land, or race across the length of the beach, until Leo became too tired to chase it. He would have to attack it from the side, and herd it towards the sea, until it had no place to go. He had yet to see a jackalope that could swim, especially in that current. His muscles tensed, and he leaned back, preparing to spring into action. Suddenly the jackalope paused, sniffed the air, and bolted. He hesitated a moment, before his instincts kicked in, and he gave chase. It was hopeless. The jackalope had gained distance, and was still speeding up. The sand skidded beneath his paws, making it even harder to pick up speed. He was too far away to herd it towards the sea. The hunt was over before it even began. He hissed, swiping at the sand with his paws. He became aware of another scent, the scent that had frightened the animal into running. Another wolf. He spotted the lupus easily. It was busy untangling itself. Leo raised an eyebrow, tail lashing in annoyance. This wolf had cost him a meal. Even from here, Leo could tell the wolf was younger than him, although this did nothing to quench the anger boiling inside of him. He took a couple of paces forward, and was suddenly engulfed in a turmoil of wind and sand. It was unnatural. So it was the lupus’s elemental power. It stopped suddenly, and he shook himself, removing the sand that had clung to his pelt. He glanced at the wolf, realising it hadn’t spotted him. So it hadn’t been an attack. Lucky for the wolf’s sake. Leo could easily out power the lupus with his own elemental power, and he was also much larger, and more muscular. It didn’t take long for him to figure out what had caused the lupus to create the wind. “You know, you should really learn to control your power, rather than letting your emotions tamper it” He pointed out, his tone taking a mocking edge, still bitter about the failed hunt.

The stretchy Eremus felt the sand between her camel like toes. It reminded her of home, but the salty air and humidity led her to believe the ocean was near and thus she was not near a desert. This pleased the eremus however since she had not seen the ocean before. Her tail began to wag as she giggled and continued to run towards the scent. Before she could come upon the ocean a rather huge jackalope crossed her path, it seemed rather startled. She sniffed the air and peered in the direction the jackalope had fled. Was it another predator or another wolf?
To her surprise, it was indeed another wolf. One she knew from before too! This would prove rather interesting. The bold fire lupus from the other night. Was he following her? She decided to follow him when he turned from her before she could be seen. Where was he going? Was he trying to impress someone and failed? Nepara giggled again, she could easily flabbergast another wolf with her unique ability. In fact, she had yet to see anyone else with her power. It made her feel very special to know she was the only one.
She saw the other wolf Leo was approaching and almost gasped for a moment, thinking the pale colors were that of another eremus, though she quickly saw the feat of elemental power and knew he too was a lupus. She already liked him though, something about the male struck her as someone she could look forward to being friends with. She quickly made her way towards the two, just in time to witness and hear Leo's aggravated reply.
She felt her ears become huge and fold outwards with her reply as her tail elongated and lashed out behind her in annoyance. "Hey! It wasn't his fault! Your no better at your power than him!"
She quickly changed the subject as she approached the other wolf, she offered a paw. "I'm Nepara... and that's Leo. He's just a grumpy face. Don't mind that stick in the mud. What brings you all the way out to the ocean?" she eagerly questioned him.

(Artemis said I might as well post as Agni hasn’t been online for 9 days, so yeah…)
Leo’s own tail lashed as Nepara approached him. He snorted. “If it hadn’t been for his pointless display of wind, I would be eating right now” He commented, turning to glare at her, and taking a few steps from the other wolf. “I have every reason to be annoyed at him” He added, irritation fuelling his words. Why did she keep appearing and annoying him? Couldn’t she leave him alone? Couldn’t everyone leave him alone? Her next words angered him further. “There is nothing wrong with my power. It is perfectly under my control.” He pointed out, a snarl forming on his face. He knew he was experienced when it came to his elemental power, and although he struggled to manifest it at time, it was above the average level of power for lupus’s at his age. It was defiantly greater than this other wolf’s, who had no control, and let his emotions run riot, and contaminate his power. He snorted again. “I’m not a grumpy face, I’m an introvert.” He added, tail lashing again, and his fur bristling. “Forget him, what brings you out here. Still following me?” He interrupted, narrowing his eyes slightly. As a loner, surely he should be left alone. Wasn’t that the whole point? Apparently not.

Agni took a few tottering steps away from the place he had slipped, his balance still delicate. He hated losing control but so far there was very little he could do about it. The green furred lupus turned his attention the scent trail he had lost. However once he picked it back up he realized how futile it would be to try and track it again. It was way too faint at this point. Now what do do? His musings were interrupted by a snark filled voice.
“You know, you should really learn to control your power, rather than letting your emotions tamper it.”
A dark furred wolf had appeared a little ways off, male by its voice. He felt vaguely affronted by the words, though they weren't exactly false. It wasn't something that hadn't already occurred to him. Hearing it aloud however was different. If he acknowledged it aloud . . . before he could think up a suitable reply, someone else did it for him.
"Hey! It wasn't his fault! Your no better at your power than him!"
This time a pale furred female wolf had appeared. Deciding to concentrate his attentions on the seemingly friendlier wolf, he angled his body towards her. He dipped his head towards her in acknowledgement of her defense, though it did contain a jab at the dark furred wolf.
"I'm Nepara . . . and that's Leo. He's just a grumpy face. Don't mind that stick in the mud. What brings you all the way out to the ocean?"
Ah, so they knew each other. Maybe Leo wouldn't take offense at her previous words.
"I'm Agni, and I was attempting to follow a scent. Honestly, I'm not even sure how I made it out this far," he admitted the last part sheepishly.
But then Leo did take offense. Agni tensed, wondering if this meeting was about to get ugly. He didn't want a fight to erupt. His clumsiness would hinder him in a situation like that. Ah, did he long for the days when he would finally get his unruly legs to obey him completely. No more tripped nonsense.
"Ignore me? But I'm right here," Agni protested weakly. Not that he wanted to be dragged into a potential fight.
