"Speaking" Scorch prowled the borders of his lands, daring to set foot outside and leave his scent further out to properly ward off trespassers. The Don was in a dismal mood, he had not seen head or tail of his mate or two of his pups in an increasingly long time and his nervous energy was burdening and growing into something much darker that rested like a stifling blanket over his ordinary zealous energy. How was he to run a pack without his Donna at his side? Had she discovered he had been unfaithful? Like such a female had mattered to him, only Tor had been more than just a mere physical gratification and in his sick and warped mind he had almost convinced himself of this odd way of thinking. Really he had just been showing the trespasser the consequences of invading the Mafia`s territory, nothing more, surely such a sacrifice could be pardoned? Well in all likelihood no mate in their right mind would see Scorch`s point of view, it simply was a little too skewed to stand judgment but it was what he was going with.
Prowling in full view of any who should happen to pass by instead of moving quickly through the shadows were only his specter could see him, Scorch left a half grimace of distaste on his maw. Where were the wolves of darkness that normally patrolled the jungle on a daily basis, his loyal subjects and fellow conspirers? It left a prickle of unease to go up his spine and a chip to rest silently on his shoulder as he glared darkly into the dense foliage. His love of the jungle was relentless, his devotion to his pack infallible and his hunger to bring it to the glory it truly deserved without equal, but he was not as foolish as to believe he could do it unaided. No, he had never been of such a mind, sure he served to lead and encourage the process, like a parent carefully guiding a child while it grew, but he had always planned on the aid of trust worthy conspirators along the way. Sharp growls of incertitude escaped from his maw as he glanced through the thick canopy of leaves to the evening sky above him, concerned for the first time that all his and his followers` efforts were being met with regression.
The Don let out a terribly strong and aggressive howl; he would not let it happen for admitting defeat was worth than being met with death. The sound echoed high above him, filtering into the growing night hours and caressing the jungle he called home. At least in death he would know he had fought until his body had betrayed him and given in, however to be alive and feeling relatively powerless was a horrid fate in itself. Pacing back in forth he mumbled darkly under his breath, trying to keep his emotions under control less he unleash the fire that boiled consistently within his soul, threatening his very livelihood and the safety of others on a daily basis. Getting angry would not help, certainly it would not help, he said repeatedly in his head, but it seemed to have done the trick in the past. However in the past he had not been entirely alone, except for the very beginning of his travels, and now he felt the oppressive silence of loneliness on his being. Something needed to be done, somehow he had to but the spark back into the hot coals of the sinners and damned that he so lovingly housed within his territory, but what?!
The very beginnings of hot flames danced between the fur of his pelt, turning his inky black and blood red pelt into a flaming coal as he stopped to roll on the ground, marking the area with his fertile scent. In his wake small burnt vegetation lay, smoke barely beginning to rise from their charred bodies. A quick flick on his tail and he was back on his feet, moving onwards to continue placing his scent around his land. It was a task he had done the previous day, but he was terribly restless and for now the familiar activity was keeping his mind and control from running rampant. Inspiration would come, it simply had to come for it had always in the past and his vivid imagination and hunger for power had never failed him before. It hardly seemed fair that it was in such a time of need that his specter was not about to offer his sadistic council, for once the Don would have welcome the grueling presence at his side and would have endure its sardonic smirks of pity. But no such luck, and Scorch let fly a vehement curse at the specter, hoping that somewhere in his world of the undead he would hear the Don`s damnation. Heck, for all the Don knew he was probably arranging Scorch a first class seat through the fires of hell this very moment

Loki watched. Still as a stone, black coat making her appear like nothing more than a scattered shadow among thousands in the jungle. She moved soundlessly, belly mere millimeters from the ground beneath her. Her fiery eyes watched the large male as he scattered his scent across the ground. He seemed tormented and Loki grinned. He was giving off enough tension to feed her without realizing it, and the delicious taste of such a negative emotion was such an absolute delight to Loki that she resisted the urge to shiver. It fueled her, gave her strength. The pain and the sorrows of others are what sustained Loki.
She salivated, focusing all of her energy on staying downwind. His torment was better than the strongest aphrodisiac and her muscles quivered at the euphoric feel of it. It was all she could do to keep from attacking him out of the sheer energy he was giving her.
She watched him scorch the earth. She had never understood the concepts of pack lands and territories, earth was earth. What difference did it make where you lived or where you moved? Why did they feel the need to protect each other. The weak should perish and the strong should thrive such was the way of things... and yet. They allowed the pathetic excuses for creatures live on as though they would one day serve some purpose other than merely being a waste of flesh. Loki could not stop the huff of irritation that left her lips. The life force should be drained away from those weak souls, and their corpses should be left to rot. This time Loki could not suppress the shiver of delight that coursed through her.
No longer able to contain herself, Loki rose, padding silently towards the wolf ahead of her. Her eyes flashed with mischief and possibly even arousal. She stayed on the very cusp of his so called territory and her lips pulled back in a sneer of a smile.
"Your life energy is delicious..." Loki purred.

"Speaking" As if on cue his lovely spectre moved from in the shadows, a light cackle that echoed into the darkness serving to announce his gruelling presence and the vague smell of decay and earth came to invade Socrch`s senses. Glancing up with his sea blue green eyes he silently sighed in relief, his undue companion a welcome in this instance where as normally the Don would have barred his teeth and attempted to scare the freightless being back to whatever hell he had come from...However today a sardonic smile of welcome was what Scorch used to greet his apparition and he waited for whatever cunning thing the ghost would have to say to the Don. “Well aren`t we in fine figure, daddy has his little family now does he?” Sneered the ghost mockingly, “Looks as though you were more of a brute then I thought, guess your gun was indeed loaded.” The condescending and crude comment rolled over Scorch`s back, by now the lupus recognized this taunts were more of complementary jeers indicating the spectre`s unspoken approval. By now he knew that the spectre could understand his thoughts and so communication remained a silent matter.
Yes, thought Scorch, my mate gave me a fine brood didn`t she, I trust she is still well? The Don had not seen her in a while, but his ghostly friend had spirits in many places that could see her. A devious smile splayed across the rotting phantom`s maw, putrefying skin peeling back over blackened gums and rotten teeth. “Well, she is fine, oh so fine.” The spectre raised a brow to indicate that had he been alive, Scorch would not have been the one to sire a brood on the dangerously alluring female. “Why, you not tickling her fancy enough anymore for her to stick around? Can`t say I blame the dear Scorchie ol` boy.” Shove off your dirty bastard, Scorch thought angrily, slightly peeved and remembering why he disliked the phantom`s presence. Why was it that out of all the ghost to roam the world he was stuck with Mr.Sick and Twisted himself? It seemed to him that as Don and leader of the damned he deserved a more...well just more from his personal ghost. Of course, had he not been so full of pride and cocky self assured confidence he might have paused to contemplate how many wolves had their own personal ghost in the first place?
“By the way,” the ghost said casually, “We are not alone dear brother, an energy leecher looms nearby.” Energy leecher was the ghost`s fond term for a lumen, Scorch was beginning to believe the spectre had been a lupus in his living days for the tone it implied was indeed rather derogatory and condescending. Good, thought the smug Don, let something disturb him for once. Being composed of bioelectric energy himself, the ghost came to stand in front of Scorch, the lumen could suck all the energy she wanted now but it would create a fowl rotting taste in her mouth. Scorch grinned, amused at this recent development and waited for the other wolf to show themself. Sure enough, out of the darkness came one of the darkest lumens Scorch had ever seen, her eyes gleaming with malice akin to most beings in his pack. Well, under other circumstances an ordinary wolf might have been rather concerned, especially when her mouth opened to utter some unusual words. Shrugging dismissively, Scorch merely tipped his head in a mock greeting; he was rather used to some foul characters and was at ease in their presence.
Calming himself down he moved into his role as the eerily charming male that he was most known for being, suave and yet lethal the Don often used such allure to enrapt his subjects. For now the spectre remained quiet, glaring defensively at the lumen as he stood his ground between the pair. Didn`t know you cared so much, Scorch thought sarcastically, but then again he supposed that the ghost had something to gain from keeping Scorch`s energy untouched. Addressing the female he said, “It is to be expected from a Don I suppose, Scorch at your service, though I am afraid if you continue to use me as a buffet I will have to show you the best way to cook a wolf; flambéed. “ The dazzling grin he gave her did not quite comply with the note of threat in his voice, he would not tolerate such leeching and the price of his energy was much higher than the lumen could afford to pay. Flames appeared between the creases of his paws and he racked his claws through the vegetation covering the jungle floar, leaving claw shaped burn marks in his wake as a small demonstration. “Now my dear, do tell me what brings such a lovely creature to my humble jungle?.” He raised a brow questioningly; curious to see what this outsider was doing so precariously near his lands.

She watched him as she drew closer, searched for the tell tale signs of him tensing or readying himself to attack her, but he showed neither of these things and she almost sighed in bitter disappointment. What a waste of such raw energy... The thought floated through her head. He spoke with charm and with an arrogant sense about him. He knew he was damn powerful and he would flaunt it. She almost snickered but restrained herself.
Loki moved beside him, unafraid and unflinching at his harsh and brazen words. She already enjoyed his company. He spoke in venomous threats but his voice remained as smooth as honey and she quivered. She liked that. Loki did not like anything. She danced along the edges of the territory not entering but one false step and she would be buried in it head first. Loki smirked wickedly, she loved a good challenge, and this wolf would certainly give her one.
"Whatever ails you, causes your life force to call to me like a beacon. The irritation and restlessness you are exuding is like the sweetest aphrodisiac. I could suck you dry it tastes so sweet." Loki purred in liquid venom. "Do not fear, I will not." She paused a moment taking one last taste, before ceasing her attachment of his life energy. She shivered, it was rare a wolf tasted so tormented, most were acerbic in taste. Happiness and joy were life energies she choked down only if it was a matter of life and death, she loathed the aftertaste if left within her.
"My name is Loki. I came into your jungle seeking the wolf who exuberated such an intoxicating mouthful and now my curiosity is sated." She was surprised at the wolf before her, clearly he had not yet run off in terror and most had long before this moment. Her mind was fragmented and shattered, spewing what most considered filthy thoughts that escaped her mouth, not to mention she was a Lumen. Perhaps this wolf was just as insane as she was. She glanced at him once more. Her belly ached at the thought of his life energy, she wanted those emotions to dominate her, consume her.

"Speaking" Scorch let his eyes trail across the female`s body, proprietary and claiming, she had tasted his energy and so he would not hold back his scrutiny. Frankly when the Don saw something that pleased him he would not hold back trying to claim it, but even though this lumen was certainly appealing with her incredibly dark pelt, he did not feel the need to woe her. However, he could imagine her use within his own ranks, having a being that could suck energy and enjoyed the sport to such a degree would be a valuable asset and one that Scorch was willing to charm. His smile grew as he flashed his white canines, a deadly smile of charm and assured confidence, tempting her to reply in turn. If it was raw and dark energy that she sought Scorch could easily offer her a haven of energy where even the vegetation absorbed the killer power. This lumen could feast off the most tantalizing life force in all of Wonderwhy and no doubt she would feel the heavy intoxicating effects of such powers profoundly. The Don knew that it but took a little to hook someone onto the unusual aura that emitted from Hell`s Den and that once a being had drank from the pool of power, often they wanted more.
So she had savored some of the more raw power, if she thought that little taste was something he could only imagine what an extended stay in the jungle could do for her. Eyes blazing with criminal intent he laughed languorously, the sound silky and heated, tempting and alluring it oozed into the air, enveloping the pair of wolves as his eyes narrowed speculatively. This female no doubt thought she was in a bargaining position, but Scorch had little doubt that offering the key to the paradise of sinners would be temptation enough to lure her within his grasp. Such a game she played by engaging the Don in conversation, he could weave desirable fantasies that would envelop the listener like silk until they could o longer move and were at his mercy; but Scorch knew that they enjoyed every damn moment of his deadly charming. Moving even closer with small flames liking between his fur the fire lupus let the air between them heat up, becoming almost unbearably hot for a wolf that did not wield the element, however it was like an aphrodisiac for the Don, fueling him on further. His voice came out as a hushed whisper, caressing, "Yes, it tends to have that effect on others, but I am afraid only my wolves may ever benefit from it...” His words were taunting, letting the female know that only those souls that answered to him could ever drink from the cup of true power.
Moving aside he sauntered brazingly around the female, his ghost still acting as an energy buffer between the two wolves as he dipped his head so that only one eye was visible in his dark pelt. Then, in a flash he disappeared into the shadows, using his personal gift from the gods to meld into the darkness and appearing in front of her again, flickering in and out of sight as his speed increased and he moved around her like a black cloud of destructive force, smoke billowing from the flames he sported. And then, quick as a whip he stopped directly in front of the lumen`s nose, a resounding growl of force ripping from his chest as his stare bore coldly into her own. His voice came out deep and aggressive, he did not play around or toy without purpose, “I. Do. Not. Fear.” And he moved once more into the shadows, appearing a few feet away with a sinful cackle of amusement, he was beginning to enjoy this lumen`s company, he could see them getting along swimmingly in the future once she realized he did not let ANYONE screw around with him.
Giving the female a coy wink he tipped his head as though to ask whether his point had been made, a roguish smirk upon his maw. He then shook his head with an amused chuckle, flicking his tail as he contemplated her words, the lumen had barely begun to scratch the surface of Scorch`s energy and little did she know that from deep within the heart of the jungle flowed an endless supply of similar energy. Sure, it was not as potent, but it was effective. “My dear, you but barely satisfied the edge of your curiosity and in but a matter of time your body will call out, demanding more of the energy you so greedily took. I can assure you this, you will never find this same energy anywhere but from deep within the jungle. I can offer you a bountiful wealth of such power, it runs rampant within the life force of even the carnivorous plants of the Mafia`s home. However...nothing ever comes free.” He placed out this trap, knowing full well her body would be hooked upon the energy and demand it with fervent passion soon enough. His face became deadly serious as he finally said, “Join me and you will be gifted with eternal power and a place where you can finally embrace your real nature without rash judgement. In fact, I seriously encourage you to consider the opportunity, can`t you hear the jungle? It calls to you Loki...”He fell silent, letting the jungle talk for him as his ghost sat in silent vigil, eyes peeled as it watched the lumen. Scorch gave the ol` spectre a conspiring wink, he had made a rather convincing argument all the same.
