Shinkou Mountain Range, from here you could see the lands once belonging to the might Balkamir Yakaxy Empire, the lands that a young Juniperus had called home, grown up in and lived a rather happy life really. She could understand why ties to such a place could be so strong feeling that very emotion now herself and yet she still couldn’t really make sense of it either. Surely being so powerful they could survive in many different places, and with the entire pack having scattered their own separate ways, it was obvious that a piece of land truly couldn’t be quite so important.
Sentimental. That was the real description that Juniper needed for this situation, for that rush of feelings welcoming her back to the sight of her former home. The problem was in her mind such emotions towards a mountain were hardly a sign of strength now were they? The fact that she had grown up in the cruel conditions was a far better sign of strength, the fact that she had found her way back entirely alone too. The fact that she had missed the place she’d once called home, well it didn’t make much sense really.
Returning home hadn’t exactly been the plan for the small Yagi though, not that she could really call it or any place home now anyway. It was a challenge in some ways, a slightly foolish one she had to admit, but if she could navigate her path back to the former territory of the Empire after wandering in so many strange lands then surely she could find her way back to her family. Yes they moved too unlike the mountains, nor did they stand out so much against the landscape but they were her family and she had to find them. She’d gotten back to this meaningless piece of land, she could and would find a way back to her parents and siblings.
She didn’t quite like how much she actually wanted to find them, at least not at first anyway though the more she thought about it the more logical it all became. Naturally she was a pack animal it seemed, wolves were it was why such groups like the Empire actually existed in the first place and in her pack it was her family she had been the closest to, it was only expected for her to care about them, wonder whether they were all ok after they’d been separated.
The only real problem now however was what to do next. She had made it back to the former pack lands and realised only now that she had stopped upon doing so, red eyes scanning the familiar area, so quiet without the familiar faces to pair with it. Searching the area for some kind of clue seemed to be the most productive thing, perhaps one of the family had also returned at some prior point. The mountain was big, another former Empire member could be here already. As well as friend though, foe could also be present. The lands were unclaimed and no matter how harsh they may be, were free for anyone to travel on. A sad thought really, but the young yagi chose to continue on now, continuing along those well known mountain paths.

A long while... and the infamous lyxxus male was all too egar to get out of the crowded pack. Life had proven difficult for him, even though he was gifted with two very uncanny powers, he continued to wonder what he could possibly accomplish now. He had ended his own life with the birthing of his mate's pups and now he rarely got any alone time without one of them (kirai in particular) constantly on his heels. While it was true he adored her over the other pups, he was still not fond of them in general. His past saw to that. He grunted as he nearly tripped on the side of the mountain he had been climbing, a daring fall that far would surely kill him.
He continued as the chilling air pelted him, his eight tails quivering in the wind behind him. He was about to turn back, fear for Citrine and that other myou burning holes in the back of his mind, when he spotted something along the horizon. Another wolf perhaps? A young one by the looks of it. He decided to announce his presence as the wind drifted his way and revealed a female. HE could use someone to talk to, someone he could maybe confide in even. Maybe even someone he could spend a little of quality time wit- no! Mind don't fail me now... you have a family, you have a pack... at least you have something! This poor wolf... she may not have anything. All the more reason to bring her hopes up....
No, all the more reason to bring their hopes up... He thought as his periwinkle gaze pierced the winds and try to get a better look at her. He hoped she would hear his call and come closer. It was awfully cold... and any other female body to help keep him warm, would do.

Although still not upon her pack's former lands, the walk was too quiet a little eerie even. By now she should have heard the lively chatter of Willow, wondering what she was up to or perhaps the calmer talk of adults as they made their way around on various errands. Perhaps even the tones of her parents or another member informing her of something interesting that she needed or simply wanted to know. Now there was nothing but the sound of the wind around her. If anyone else had made their way back to the lands, well they too were moping in the loneliness it seemed, not considering the possibility of company, just like herself though. She kept quiet, simply moved around on her silent search, senses alert as she moved.
The call of another sharply alerted the young yagi that she wasn't as alone as she had previously been led to believe. A gaze back down the path she'd walked along only aided in proving this point as she caught sight of another. The call was foreign to her, and she didn't think she knew the little wolf she could just about see. All the same though, he apparently wanted something and it would be a little rude to ignore it immediately.
She didn't particularly want to head back and ruin her progress, but she had plenty of time to wander and continue her feeble search of the lands and of course make her way back to the Tundra. She still doubted she would find someone here, someone she knew anyway, it was even more unlikely than the Tundra, though this was close to home, perhaps some hadn't ventured far. It was probably worth taking a little company for a moment, a break from the silence would be nice too. And so, the decision was made to move back down the path and head towards the stranger.
No idiot, Juniper was cautious still in her approach, if it was some kind of trap she certainly wasn't going to get stuck in it though soon stopped a short distance from the lyxxus. If he was alone, she had nothing to fear, he surely wouldn't have a chance against even the smallest of yagi. "Who are you?" A rather formal and blunt start to all. A lack of greeting, she was straight in with the point. The social awkwardness of Juniper, but she was still rather used to a place that had known who she was, used to being the daughter of the emperor and empress, one of four heirs in the pack.

A familiar scent came to his mind. Where had he smelt her before? It was on the tip of his tongue, but before the splotched sandy lyxxus could let his mind wander she was before him, the typical question resounding over the dry wintry lands. Her stunning rubies melted his remaining thoughts as he gulped and began to stare. Stupid Nautic! Get over yourself and quit making a fool of yourself in front of this beloved.... young... lady... Oh dear lord, he was at it again as he began to feel his body heat up. No, hot here... not to someone so young and innocent... not to someone who seemed too familiar.
Then it hit him like ice water. Those strangers that Ahote took in... those other yagi.. they were from another pack that disbanded awhile ago. What pack were they from? He just could not think of the name at the moment. Maybe that's what this wolf was doing so close to the pack lands? He smirked, maybe he could gain something from this?
"You, my dear, may call me whatever you please. But I am commonly known as Nautical Rausting, Hauld of the Aurelian Enclave. I am merely traveling the vast open lands in hopes of some sort of revelation to my aching memories... though I feel I need look no further for I have found a gem in the rough." The sly male smirked as his tails waved merrily behind him as he took a sitting posture. Then he began again " May I inquire, who may you be, such a lovely young lady must have an important purpose to be out and about all by her lonesome." not meaning to come off rude or inconsiderate to her own traveling abilities, the lyxxus eyed her intently. Awaiting the Yagi's reply. He had yet to pursue a horned species that was that of his alpha. Maybe he should keep note of it?
"Of course you needn't answer my question. It is just common courtesy to give as much information as you are given. I just can't help but feel like I know you from somewhere so I just had to get your attention." He finished, his periwinkle eyes traveling over her body now and taking the sight in. If she was much older, he would not show interest in a young pup. That would be like him with ids look like? He wondered.

Now closer, Juniper could examine the male a little more closely, beyond of course that tiny stature that made her own size look far more normal, in her own eyes of course. His scent of course was now something that she could take note of, even with the winds against her they were closer now and a keen nose could detect the fact that he was part of a pack. Juniper had never been educated too much upon the neighboring packs and having only left the lands of the Empire once, had never really gotten the chance to learn the scent of the Aurelian Enclave, all she could decipher from her existing knowledge was that the lyxxus was not part of her former pack.
He took a moment to answer, staring at her for a moment though the reasoning was beyond Juniper's knowledge. Though an intelligent wolf, she was still very young and that combined with somewhat iffy social skills meant she was still very innocent to certain topics. At last though the lyxxus opened his mouth, breaking the very strange silence that had quickly fallen across them. Once he had begun to speak though, Juniper found she wished he would shut up. He did ramble on slightly, speaking far more than was actually necessary and extending his own question in what she thought to be a rather ridiculous manner, and then off course practically taking it back. What was the use in making this so difficult now?
"Juniperus." Though no one actually used her full name, and certainly not her sister Willow, she still felt the need to give it. She noted that her mother always presented herself with her full name. Juniper had never actually had to introduce herself before, but with her knowledge, it seemed that this was the correct manner to do so. Her position within a pack seemed likely necessary to follow in some cases though considering this was not a territory and that she was no longer of a pack, she chose to keep quiet, even though Nautic Rausting had stated his own.
"I doubt that you know me however, I know for certain that I have never met you." Juniper explained, choosing to get rid of that lack of knowledge for him. There was the chance he had met her when she was younger, still a small pup though Juniper doubted her mother, father or even Cedrus would have allowed a stranger to get so close to Aspen, Willow and herself.

She need not get annoyed with him. Maybe it was best to get the words out of the way so he may get to the point. He cleared his throat before continuing. Her name even seemed familiar, who else did he know that had a plant name? Thus he began again to get her attention once more.
"Mmmm, Juniper... like the tree? What a rather lovely name." He decided to get to the point now since it only seemed to be adding to the awkward silence. "I'm sure I've seen a couple Yagi in the Enclave lately that say they came from another pack. One rather resembles your elegant horns dear Juniper.." he added in. Just to mess with her. Maybe she will spill some more information for the taunting lyxxus. If he can't easily seduce her, he would not go out of his way. She was obviously still a bit young anyways.
"Maybe you should join me back? I am sure the rest of the pack would be just dying to help such a charming wolf as yourself..." He taunted her again as he stood and turned around to leave. Hopefully she would follow. He turned back to look at her before putting a seductive tone in his voice "Shall We?"

Juniper didn't mean to be annoyed with him if it seemed that way. She thought the amount of speaking was not really needed though she had seen no real reason to grow irritated with him, the conversation had only just begun after all, introductions only just out of the way, no matter how long or short they had been. As he continued though it seemed that this lengthy way of speaking was simply the way Nautic went about conversations. Strange then that he shortened her name automatically.
She wasn't sure whether or not to correct him on that, she had given her full name after all as her mother always did, but had someone then gone on to automatically call her Cypress without an invite? She wasn't really sure. With everyone calling her Juniper though it didn't seem like much of a problem, she chose to ignore that and on Nautic continued with his sentences. She listened to it all, grasping the more important facts from his lists of words.
"I am not the only yagi in existence." She remarked, not surprised by the fact that he had seen others at his pack. "I'm sure there are many of my species around." With the Empire having divided as well there were bound to be a few more of them roaming around too. Though without the knowledge of the Enclave's local positioning she couldn't jump to the assumption that some of the Empire yagi were the ones that Nautic was current speaking of.
However the additional details, the mentioning of the other pack and the similar horns couldn't help but put the idea into her mind if only for a moment. There were certainly some coincidences that couldn't be fully ignored, it would perhaps be worthwhile to find out a little bit more about this pack and their visitors if she could. She had no idea what being a Hauld meant, though hopefully it was a high enough rank that he could offer her some information that might be helpful.
Instead of speak some more though, instead the other wolf questioned whether or not she would like to join him back to his pack. Well whilst that would certainly give her information, for example the location of the Enclave and perhaps a meeting with those yagi he spoke of, it wasn't quite what Juniper was after. She would have preferred to learn more first and surely she could find her own way to the Enclave if she needed to. She had wanted to search her home a little more first after all. However if her mother was at the Enclave the sooner she got there the better. She was certainly in a rather difficult situation.
In the end however it was his movement to turn around that gave her reason to question things. "Surely you can't be ready to turn around just yet? You've clearly just come from that direction, I didn't see you descending the mountain." Juniper observed, and although he was small she had been watching carefully for any sign of movement, any scents and sounds. Perhaps he was though, he claimed to had found that revelation to whatever it was that had been bothering him. Still it was enough of a distraction to lead on to her next points.
"I know nothing about you or the Enclave, I don't know why I should follow without knowing what I'm getting myself in for. Besides, I may have no reason to follow you. How do you these visiting yagi may be former companions of mine?" She had found her tongue now whilst using her logic but that didn't really matter. "Why don't you stay and tell me more of the pack and them first of all, for I don't need to go with you."

OOC: This is set before my other current posts, as the timeline keeps overlapping, and it's getting a bit confusing. So it was easier to set this before events, as i still don't know how those events will end. Just to prevent confusion Leo descended the slippery slope, placing his feet carefully. This wasn’t his first time in these mountains, and he knew that it was better to be safe than sorry when it came to the prospect of falling. He didn’t really fancy freezing to death in some icy pit because he was too injured to move. Nor did he fancy dying at all. Not for the moment, anyway. He sniffed the air, confused. He was sure there had been a pack here before. He couldn’t remember the name, but he knew his old pack had travelled to the mountain, and allied themselves with the pack, spending a few nights, before continuing on. He had left his pack now, and was much older, so he doubted anyone from the pack would remember him, for he had been nothing but a pup, but he had hoped they could give him information on where to go. He was in lands he barely knew, and he was alone. Knowledge would help him greatly, especially concerning that off the packs on the ground. He would have joined the ‘mountain pack’ had he not decided that he disliked the cold, and the height if he was being truly honest. However, upon arriving, he had found no sign of a pack. It didn’t make sense. Maybe he had simply gone the wrong way? But he had an excellent sense of direction, and travelling was in his blood. It was in his very nature to be able to retrace his steps, no matter how long ago those steps were made. Starting to doubt his ability, he came across a scent. Two scents. Wolves. He would have raced towards them, if just to prove to himself that his ability to find his way was perfect, but he made his way carefully, aware of the steep drop, and the cold and lonely death that would await should he fall. He spotted the yagi quickly. He raised an eyebrow. If wasn’t often you saw a yagi. It took him a moment longer to spot the smaller lyxxus. The two didn’t seem to know each other. At least not well. He wondered if these two wolves could solve the mystery of the disappearing pack. He perked his ears, listening to their conversation. He had arrived halfway through. The Lyxxus, who referred to the female as Juniper, was telling her about other yagi. He turned suddenly, asking her to follow him. He frowned. There was something about the smaller wolf that made his skin crawl. If he was the yagi, he wouldn’t trust the lyxxus. He was pleasantly surprised when she defended herself, using logic. Driven by respect (as he was for anyone who used logical thinking), and curiosity he decided to alert them to his presence. “You know, she has a point. I wouldn’t follow you. I wouldn’t trust you for starters” He called out, stalking towards the pair gracefully. He was away from an edge now, so he let his fear of heights go, for the sake of making a dramatic entrance.

Nautic began to speak again before he was rudely cut off by a male lupus announcing himself onto the scene and making a snide remark about trusting him. Who did he think he was and it wasn't like the male lyxxus had horrible intentions. He merely wanted to help a female in need. She seemed lost and he knew for a fact that other packs had been residing in the enclave. Anyone could put two and two together... apparently everyone except these two buffoons. Then Nautic did something he had not done in awhile.
"Fine. Freeze to death in the mountains... see if I care! You obviously can take of yourselves, but if you don't want to find the rest of the Empire, then suit yourself.." The name of the pack finally appearing from the back of his mind. He continued to make his way back to the enclave, he had had enough. He didn't need other females, all he needed was Citrine... this young and rambunctious half pup wolf was nothing compared to her beauty. Even if it meant more time spent with puppies too.
As he continued away from the two he felt some sort of odd feeling. What was happening to him?? He had changed so much, it was almost as if he was becoming too old and mature, like an old man, to flirt and pursue young and feminine blood. It didn't matter to him at the moment regardless, another male had presented himself and this angered him. Nautic was not fond of the same gender, so being enraged already, he decided it was best to leave while he was ahead of himself to avoid an unwanted confrontation.

Juniper never got to hear Nautic's response with the interruption of another wolf joining them. A lupus this time, though still a stranger, to herself anyway. With his words however, the young yagi couldn't help but assume that the lyxxus also had no idea who this other wolf was or did and was not fond of him to say the least. Whatever the reasoning it appeared the new stranger was upon her side on the topic, not that it would earn him trust from her in return.
And certainly not the trust from Nautic either. Quickly the lyxxus seemed to grow rather agitated and his irritated reply finally burst from his lips. Had he not spoken the name of the pack, Juniper could have probably happily ignored him and allowed him to simply head off wherever it was he pleased. But now Juniper certainly had something else to think about. He had definitely said Empire, and mentioned other yagi including one whose horns were similar. Now the connection was really forming and she couldn't help but hope that her mother was there. Who the other yagi were she couldn't tell but she certainly wasn't going to get any answer in this manner.
Saying nothing to the lupus, nor even excusing herself as she made her way down the path, forgetting about her search on the mountains and plan to head to the Tundra, only getting answers mattered at this moment. "Nautical Rausting." She called, using that full name he had given her, not knowing whether he preferred anything different and despite the fact she had been given permission to call him whatever she pleased, it seemed like the best bet to say something she was quite sure wouldn't cause any more tension or anger.
"I had only requested answers." Juniper pointed out, she certainly hadn't meant for this turn out, in fact had perhaps wrongly assumed that Nautic would simply sit and continue speaking, offering advice like what pack those yagi had formally been from. "They are from the Empire? Now that is a start, do you know their names?" She didn't mean to sound like she was interrogating him, though she wanted to find out more information and this was the only way she knew how.

Leo smiled to himself, watching the Lyxxus storm off. Like a pup having a tantrum. To Leo, that would prove that he was untrustworthy, but to the female, it seemed to have the opposite effect. He frowned, watching her descend the slope. Empire? That had been the word where she reacted. The word seemed familiar to him, and remembering his search for the disappearing pack, he followed the female, wondering if it was connected. He stayed slightly behind Juniper, so that the Lyxxus could not refuse to answer her questions, on account of him being there, but close enough that he could hear the answers. She was asking about wolves from the empire. So it probably was a pack, and a pack that was destroyed, or at least split up. His eyes lit up, despite himself. If that was true, than it could be his disappearing pack. HA! He knew his tracking skills were perfect. “Is the empire the pack that used to live close by?” He asked, the mystery already solved in his head.

It was like they were leeches, trying to suck the information out of him. He didn't like where this was going. It was quite obvious that the two wolves were more interested in what he had to say rather than who he really was. He was done dealing with this young ignorant fools!
"Frankly, I'm not supposed to even be sharing this information with you...if you are truly interested you will look for the enclave in the taiga, good day." Nautic simply turned around before leaving them to themselves and heading his own way.
Who did they think they were, barging up to him, Nautical Rausting! He would show them! He didn't need to give them the time of day if need be... He continued to ignore them as he made his way back. His eight tails wavering in the wind. The mountains quiet and still with anxious anticipation.

Well of course Juniper had more interest in the information as opposed to Nautic's words. She didn't know the lyxxus nor was she really that intent on getting to know him, she had no real disliking for the male, what really did she have to base the opinion upon other than a very brief conversation. With his further words however, Juniper had made up her mind about him. No she certainly didn't wish to know anymore, at this very moment he seemed rather rude. He was after all the one that had wished to start a conversation in the first place, all she had wanted was to silently continue her search.
OK, yes she would admit some of the words he had spoken had actually been useful for her, now it seemed she had a rather promising place to look and not one too far away she was sure. If after a walk up the mountain he was simply going to turn and run back to his pack, Juniper was pretty sure the Enclave weren't far. That and he had spoken of the Taiga, she knew where to find that, some geographical knowledge wasn't lost on the young yagi.
If she left shortly, giving the lyxxus a head start she could always follow him to the Taiga too, an absolute direction to the Enclave and to her family perhaps. It was foolish to get her hopes up, though the description of one yagi could possibly be her mother. Empire, similar horns, it may have been all she had to go on, but simply the pack's name was enough for her.
"Yes, the Empire used to live in the Tundra." She answered the lupus' question bluntly, though her red eyes remained fixed upon the lyxxus ahead, waiting for his little form to get a little further away. "Now, I have to go." She stated simply. There were no further comments to be made upon the Empire, they once lived in the Tundra, and now they were scattered across various places, including the Taiga it seemed. That was her destination now and she wasn't going to waste any time.
A little slower in her movements, so not to catch up with Nautic or give him reason to believe he was being followed, Juniper set about following that trail he had left. Soon, soon she would see some more familiar faces she hoped.

Leo was pleased to discover that he had been correct about the pack-the empire- having lived here, however, it did now mean that he wouldn’t have anywhere to get rest and get information about this land. He frowned, realizing this was a setback. He watched Juniper walk off slowly. So she was going to follow the rude Lyxxus. He snorted, since when did he hold the moral ground when it came to rudeness? He found his feet moving, joining Juniper. He had no interest in finding her pack, which must have become scatter, but he no longer had a reason to be in this mountain range. He would be glad to return to ground level, where he didn’t have to worry about plummeting to his death. He wasn’t close to the edge now, so the danger of falling was unlikely, but he still felt a bit dizzy, from being up so high. He followed her in silence, making his way carefully. He thought back to what he remembered of his stay, but it was a foggy memory at best, and most of it seemed like his own imagination. Images flashed before him that meant very little to him. Wolves of all types, none of which he recognised. He blinked, returning to the presence.
