Duchan had heard stirrings from the east and so he ventured his way towards the land which he knew belonged to the pack called the Centena Accord. He was careful though and made sure to keep his scent mostly hidden and outside the boundary of the pack. The scent markers were weak though and Duchan had half a mind to wonder where the leaders of this pack were. He merely shrugged though, enjoying the sunset and meandering through the brush on the outskirts.
With so many of the wolves seemingly absent... well, everywhere, it was easy for Duchan to move about the lands. No one to follow him, and his scent would be gone just as soon as he had come. His eyes though precluded him, glowing through the darkness. Nothing to be done though, and he got better at hiding them once it was fully dark. His large paws helped in displacing any sound his foot falls made as he went through.
So far he had heard murmurings of a new pack trying to get its feet off the ground, and Duchan was slowly heading in that direction. He wanted to scope out the new wolves as soon as possible and get that information back to Ahote. It was times like this that the hybrid wished he had been granted wings. He looked at his back, frowning a bit but shrugged. If he had wings it would make his... well, spying a bit harder.
He stopped briefly by a small river, lowering his head and taking a long gulp of water. He hadn't eaten since earlier that day, but he wasn't about to hunt so close to packlands. His belly would wait for the morrow, when he would be on the move. Though night was nearing he had no intentions of spending this night sleeping. So he sat by the water, eyes staring around as he waited for the moon to rise.

[OOC: Haven't roleplayed in a long time, now! So, here you go!]
Alari suddenly awoke from her nap. She was in some sort of snow den. She walked out and yawned, then stretched her legs outward, with her tail high in the air. She shook and looked up into the sky. How long was I taking a nap? The sky was getting dark, which was a great time to sneak around. "Well, well, well. Let's see if I could spot any rivers. I could definitely go for a quick drink, and a quick dip, if so. Alari spread her wings out and smiled, glad to be gifted with wings, and then took off into the darkening sky. She flew a little higher, and then a litter lower, mimicking hills. Then, after a little while, she started to fly straight again.
Alari soared through the dim sky, sniffing the air. She had a sudden urge to fly a little faster and feel the breeze flow through her fur, so she did. I love flying! I would hate to not be able to fly... Let's see if I could do any tricks. She made a quick turn by slanting her right wing down wards and shifting weight to the right. She did a small little dive, but quickly stops, and spots a shadowy figure below her. What is that? Alari flew a little away from it, and then flew down to the ground, quietly, and slowly. The landing was probably her best one yet, because she did it slowly. She could smell the tracks, but they were very faint. She started to follow it quietly, trying not to make too much sound, and then stopped.
"Hm, just another wolf," she mumbled to herself. Alari went to turn around, and then smirked. Maybe I could have a little fun with this wolf... She just above the ground and started to fly silently towards the wolf. Then, she landed almost right behind the wolf. "A wanderer, I could tell. How?" She paused and flicked her tail, "Well, I'm pretty much a wanderer myself, if you couldn't tell by my scent."
Alari put one paw in front of her, and raised an eyebrow, still smirking. "The name's Alari, and you are?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,505,true] | [atrb=background,http://i54.tinypic.com/3329lxv.jpg]The water was cool as he dipped his large paws in, the fur sucking up the water like a sponge. His claws toyed with the pebbles by the edge of the brook, flipping them over. It wasn't too long before the male got bored, sitting there and doing very little. Night hadn't fallen yet, so it wasn't quite safe for him to go snooping any further. He'd have to wait until he could blend in completely.
But before that even happened he was interrupted by the sound of a wolf moving towards him. He could hear her, smell her even before she spoke at all, hearing her mumble, but not necessarily her words. Keen senses came with his hybridity, but he stood there, not moving an inch from where he stood. Might as well give her the illusion she had the first approach. But soon her footsteps became silent, and Duchan closed his now glowing eyes, his ears concentrating on picking up where the wolf had gone. Distinctly female by scent, he focused his attention on the changing of the winds. It wasn't soon before he could feel the wind beating behind him, the soft sound of wings. A keiyou, of course.
So when she landed just behind him, he did nothing, merely turned his head to look at her, his orchid eyes glowing as he stared at her with a rather neutral expression. You can't sneak up on someone so well trained to sneak up on others. Her words were not true, but Duchan was fine to let her believe that he was in fact, a wandered. Perhaps the scent of the Enclave had rubbed off enough. He did pre-emptively roll in the dirt before leaving to mask his scent, but that was only a temporary solution. He had been wandering for a while though. He shrugged a bit in reply to her.
"I roam here and there, wherever my paws carry. Though I suppose such wanderings would be made much the easier with wings."
He said nothing else in reply to her, his eyes scanning her body. She was attractive, but not necessarily his type from her sudden approach. A smarter wolf would have stayed afar, especially considering he was a large male. Loners were unpredictable, and he could have been dangerous. Either way, the situation was fine, and she quickly introduced herself. He nodded a bit to her name, Alari, and thought quickly. On such a mission, as this was, was it wise to disclose his name? Quick thoughts led to a speedy reply.
"Duke," he said softly, his voice mellow as his eyes glowed out around him. Perhaps she'd leave in time for him to actually do some work. He'd hate to waste the night just because of an interruption.

Alari smiled and opened her wings, showing them off. She put them back to her side and strutted over to the water, a little bit away from the wolf. "Duke, huh? Interesting, interesting." She took a drink and then thought to herself, Now, time to do what I really came here for. To have a little fun with this wolf. First, I'll start slow. Alari sat down and then slightly turned her head to look at the wolf. "So, Duke, how long have you been wandering? What's the farthest you've ever wandered? Have you ever flown- I mean walked over to the Accord? Where are you from?" She asked those questions very calm, and gave out a light smile, trying to annoy the wolf.
"Oh, and I am a VERY daring wolf. So if you attack, I could either fly up, or attack back. Just a little reminder." Alari scanned is body for any tense muscles, or for any twitches in his ears or tail. She was ready to fly up, or attack at any moment. I have no reason to attack this wolf, and I'm getting a little bored, so maybe I should try to manipulate him? No, I don't want anything at the moment, so maybe I should just try to annoy him. Alari looked into the wolf's eyes and became almost mesmerized by them. How they were glowing and how everything around her all of a sudden turned black.
She shook her head and closed her eyes, leaving the sudden trance. "So, h-how do you wander without wings? Is it hard? I couldn't live a day without these babies!" Alari once again bragged about her wings, still trying to annoy the wolf. She again slightly lowered her head to take a slow drink, smirking. She closed her eyes and put one paw into the water, letting it soak her fur. Her head swiftly lifted up, her ears turning around for any sounds or sudden movements. Ugh... I must be going insane. Maybe I chose the wrong wolf to taunt. Alari slowly slid her paw out of the water, then stood up. She trotted back to her original spot and just stood there, smirking. Then, she slightly started to wag her tail side to side, and slightly laid her ears back. She scratched the side of her neck with her back paw, then shook her head. Now, time to take it up a notch.

Duchan half wondered if his own hybridity was that obvious. Some wolves were inherently borne of one species, and you could tell just by a cursory glance. Others were more of a mystery. Was he a mystery, or just another hybrid?
He nodded a bit to her repetition of his name, and then she seemed to have a jumble of questions ready for him. He could barely keep up with the speed as she prattled them off, and suddenly Duchan knew he would have very little time for anything besides getting this keiyou off his tail. He resigned to this knowledge with nothing more than a sigh, his long pantherlike tail flicking behind him.
"A fortnight maybe, and I've been all over. From the heat of the south, to the snowy glaciers of the north. I've never been in packlands though, that would be rude," he had to lie on that one. No way he could tell her he'd pretty much trespassed his way into just about every pack. "I'm not really from around here. At least, I haven't been for a while," he shrugged again. That much was true, and though he did live in the Enclave, he hadn't been there for a few weeks. Somewhat true.
She seemed to feel the need to explain herself though and Duchan watched her, finally resting his rear on the ground. He wasn't going anywhere fast, not with her talking to him like this. "What gives you the idea I would attack?" He blinked a bit, curling his tail around his haunches and staring at her with orchid eyes. Even if she could fly away, he was much larger than she. Any mistake and he'd have her pinned easily. That was not his intention though.
"When it's what you're born with, you get used to it very fast. I imagine I wouldn't be able to fly very well if I suddenly sprouted wings," he said slowly, looking at her wings. "But wings make noise; they tell you when a wolf is coming. My paws mask any sound I make and I can get in and out of places without a trace," he said, watching her move towards the water and take a drink. Was this going to take all night? She seemed to have some sort of hidden agenda, and Duchan appeared to be a part of it.

Alari slightly widened her eyes, as the wolf didn't seem annoyed yet. She nodded at his answers, but suddenly, her eyes widened a little more once he asked her a question. I can't tell him, 'Oh I'm trying to annoy you, so if you attack me I could attack or fly away'. I can't tell him. With her quick wit, she responded, "Oh you know, just in case if I'm annoying you" Alari raised a brow and smiled at her answer. But wings make noise; they tell you when a wolf is coming. My paws mask any sound I make and I can get in and out of places without a trace "That's true. I have to agree with you on that. Well, without a trace, you say? So you could walk in snow, and not leave your prints in the snow? You know how to make your scent faint? With wings, you can also escape faster; well, if you're a fast flyer, that is. Actually, why don't you say we have a race? If you're up to it..."
The thought of racing a wolf with no wings brightened her mood a little more. I bet I could win. Alari shifted around while she was sitting, and flicked her lion like tail on the ground, with the black tip matching her wings, and the sky getting darker, she smiled at the thought of the night. Although, this wolf was a black wolf, he might be able to win if Alari couldn't see him. "Come on, just a little race. I just wanna see if a female keiyou is faster than a male, uh, a male... Are you a lupus or something?" Alari tilted her head and though for a moment. Is he a hybrid or something? Whatever. I don't think that matters... Right? Doesn't matter. She lifted off of the ground and started to fly until she was a little taller than the wolf. Almost mocking or taunting him. Alari grinned and started to fly towards a tree, then landed on a sturdy branch. The yellow leaves that represented fall slightly fell to the ground as she looked down at the wolf. "You seem a pretty strong fellow, so you could win. Maybe. Her tail hit the tree in a slow rhythm as she gave a slight grin. Thump... Thump... Thump...
The thought of winning pleased Alari. She never liked to lose, and sometimes she could be a poor sport. The night was getting darker and the moon was almost visible. Hm. Looks like Dukey here wants to go somewhere. That's splendid! All I have to do is to just keep him here. Perfect! Just perfect! Annoying a wolf a day keeps the shadows away, as my old man would always say. Alari once again flew into the air, and started to fly around. She landed on a big rock this time, and laid down on her back. She continued to flick her tail and actually smiled, showing her teeth. She focused on the movement and the sounds around her. She started to think of some more questions to ask, and then stopped grinning. Alari moved so she was sitting on the rock, and then tilted her head at the wolf. I've never seen a wolf with orchid eyes. That's interesting.
A slight breeze passed by, and the air got a bit colder. Alari closed her eyes and listened again, swaying slightly with the breeze. It was calming, and reminded her of her pup life. The water trickled, and she stated to daydream. Alari went off into her own world again, she forgot about everything that was happening at the moment, and drifted off. She could only hear the sounds around her, and started to think. When she opened her eyes, she realized she fell off the rock.

At this rate he'd be staying in the border area for another evening just to have night as his cover to go exploring. The female seemed to know this though in her reply. He shrugged plainly and looked at her. "I don't get annoyed easily." It was mostly true. He tried to keep a level head, and letting things get to him wasn't helpful. So he took most things with a grain of salt. She seemed interested in his reply though, and his tail flicked again, resting just above the ground.
"There are tricks to do these things. My tail does a fairly good job at erasing my foot prints. I can weave easily through the brush, and hide as well. My coat is perfect for hiding." He raised a brow at the last thing she said though. Though a race wasn't something he liked, he could possibly get her off his tail. That was an idea he did quite like, and he smiled a toothy grin. "Fine, fine. And not quite, I'm no lupus." He said nothing more about his blood lines, leaving it up to her imagination. Not everyone liked hybrids, not that it mattered to him much though. He flexed his claws for a moment and glanced around. "Perhaps. Though I'm sure you know strength isn't everything." She was soon in the air, leaving the hybrid alone on the ground, which he was quite fine with. He rolled his shoulders back, moving and testing the ground. With the fall coming, there were leaves to contend with. He'd have to factor that in. But the ground was still soft after the summer. Either way if he truly did want to race her, he'd have a decent shot.
He stared at her as she sat upon the rock, seemingly going into a trance. Perhaps he could avoid the situation entirely and sneak by now. His steps were careful and deliberate, swiftly moving into a thick overhanging of underbrush and moving gingerly away from where the rock was. His soft paws carried him further from the wolf, until he heard a thump. What in the world? He blinked a bit, staring back at where the female was. She was no longer on the rock, but apparently had fallen. He couldn't help but think of how stupid that was. But he hadn't gotten too far from her quite yet, though he was masked in the shadows. He closed his eyes, his ears alert for any movements.

Alari burst out laughing all of a sudden. "I just fell off of a rock! A ROCK!" She looked around and noticed the wolf was gone. She sat up and closed her eyes, sniffing the air; then she got low to the ground and started to crawl into the small stream. Alari got her paws and tail wet, then quickly lifted off the ground, and started to fly away. Heh. Trying to sneak away, huh buddy boy? She made a quick turn and started to fly towards the area again. Alari almost flew straight down once she spotted the wolf. She landed gently in front of him, grinning. "Trying to get away, huh? Need to go somewhere, Sir Duke? Come on champ, let's see how fast you are!" Alari gave her tail a slight wag as she felt the ground with her paws. Maybe, I could start to run, then all of a sudden fly into the air and fly as fast as I can! Yeah, oh whatever, I'll just WING it! She gave out a slight chuckle at her own pun, then she turned around and faced the other way. "So, from here to... about..." Alari looked around and saw a small hill not too far ahead.
"...To that hill over there! Alright Sir Duke, ready to jog, or run, or whatever?" She smirked and then spread out her wings and lowered to the ground, prepared to give herself a boost. There was a slight wind, but it was going in the opposite direction, so Alari would have to fly against it. It's just a weak breeze, she told herself. Alari shifted around and rolled her shoulders, as if she was about to attack prey. I need to think of a distraction, then I would win for sure! Alari whipped her tail on the ground, and started to move it everywhere.
She chuckled and then started to twitch her ears. It looked pretty stupid, indeed, but soon she was pretty much moving her whole body. Alari was still on the ground, her head was still forward, and she acted like nothing was happening at all.

She had woken up, spotting him and moving towards where she was. His night was officially being ruined, and he'd have to stay in the Accord territory another night in order to complete his tasks. He sighed, looking up at her. "You looked like you were asleep, I didn't want to wake you..." he replied, moving forwards a little bit and watching her with a rather strange look. What was she planning, and what were her motives? He followed her though, seeing her line of sight. He would have to race apparently.
"Yeah, I suppose," he said, moving beside her, his thin tail lazily flicking in the breeze. There wasn't much for him to think, save that he really didn't want to bother himself such such a competition. He retracted his claws, stretching his shoulders out for a moment. At the very least he'd run, though if she decided to use her wings, she'd have an unfair advantage. He said nothing though, just watching her with glowing eyes.
"Are you quite alright?" he asked, as she began to quiver all over. Was she having some sort of seizure, or was she just... strange?

Alari looked at the wolf confusingly, "Yeah, why?" She gave another slight grin to herself, and then shifted her wings, as if she were getting them prepared. "On your marks... Get set... Gogreat! Alari chuckled as she said her 'false alarm' word. Then, out of nowhere, "Go!" Alari started to do some sort of weak jog, and then shot up into the sky like a bullet. It was fun to take a flight in the night, especially when the stars were out. Alari then made one quick movement with her wings and started to move forward as fast as she could to the hill, not even looking down at the wolf. She opened her mouth and let her tongue go free from her mouth, and to just flop there on the side. Alari did a little spin and then started moving faster, until she saw the hill up ahead. That's when she bolted.
Or, at least tried to.
Alari flew as fast as she could, then dove to the hill; which was right below her. She put her floppy tongue back in her mouth, and then winced. She then made an unexplainable movement. It was almost like turning when she was diving down, but half way almost. Then, it was like she rolled in mid air, which led her to landing, but rolling, off the hill quickly. Alari landed on her back with her head facing towards the hill. "Ughhh. I... I bet I won! Yeah. That wolf... Could never... Beat... Me! Alari opened her eyes, but to only be in a world that spins. She shut them tightly and slightly shook her head, but when she opened them, the world was still a bit dizzy. Alari quickly rolled over onto her paws, and the shook herself as she got up. "WOOOHOOO! I haven't flown like that since two days ago! Now THAT is how you fly!" Alari strutted around with pride with her eyes closed and a grin on her face. Her lion tail whipped the ground ever now and then, but she kept her head held high.
She didn't even know if she won or not.
