He had certainly had those days were he felt a little down, a little insignificant though those emotions were nothing compared to what he was feeling now. Guilty, ashamed and even a little terrified though poor lyxxus wasn't even a shadow of his normal self. Gone for now was the happy, egotistical ways shifted by the immense worry that was pressing down heavily on his mind. It had taken several laps of the land before he had finally dared cross the borders and even now a part of him simply wanted to run away again.
He had let his father down, if Reynard would even still consider him a son after the horrific news that he had to deliver. He and Loca were about to begin their travels one morning when suddenly she took off to the skies, flying far higher than she normally would have done and with no destination actually settled upon. For a while he had tried to run along the ground, though with her flying over forests he knew he would quickly lose sight of her, which was just what had happened. Racing back to the original spot he sat, waited for a while, hoping she would return though as the day went on the suspicion that she wasn't coming back grew more and more. One of those moods had set in, even Altan wasn't a friend anymore.
For weeks afterwards he had travelled around the various places that they hadn't visited yet, barely stopping for enough food or sleep. His weight had slipped a little because of it and he certainly looked to be in quite a state. Appearance wise the normal Altan was fading too. At last though he knew he had failed, knew he'd never find her on his own and had been forced to return back to the lands knowing he had broken his promise to look after her, he'd failed in his attempts to try bring the young keiyou back home.
Collapsing on the ground beneath a tree, Altan once again found that he couldn't continue into the lands, couldn't seek Reynard out knowing that he had let him down. Just a rest here was all he needed, closest to home he could be. Now he was here, well he knew full well he couldn't show his face without Loca. He'd leave again after a sleep, and with that thought, his eyes soon closed.
