Was the entire world actually covered in sand with only the temperature differing. The air was a little cooler here, much faster and more aggressive, though the main difference was the humid feeling, rather strange for Orivir so used to the dry terrain of the desert. Actually that wasn't the only odd thing, there was a funny smell, the salty air, not that Ori knew how to describe it yet. There was certainly much that the Eremus had to learn, about the world and other wolves.
Finding water wasn't particularly common in the desert, though it seemed here that once you found it, there was nothing but water. Closer he came to those waves, but there was still no sign of land beyond them, aside from where his eyes could follow the cove as it curved in on itself, areas that he hadn't yet explored. From the centre of the desert straight to the beach had been Ori's path and now that he had slowed in this strange area, the Eremus wasn't really sure what to do with himself.
A little closer he came to the shore, though he didn't really like how the water launched itself across the sand, retreating only to charge forwards once more. It moved with such speed and force Ori really wasn't sure how safe it was. With barely any water, he had never tried swimming and right now it still didn't seem appealing, what with waves that looked as though they'd try drag him out into the never-ending water. Was this why the beach was so quiet, the visitors had fallen victim to this vicious liquid? A little nervously the Eremus stepped back, not wanting to take his chances battling the water.
Maybe someone would come and keep him company and perhaps even explain more about the area to him, inform him the truth of the water and that the waves really weren't too bad. The desert was quiet too after all and he had still met fellow Eremus across the dunes, and even a few myou. Strange wolves they were, reptilian ones he had met, with scales of lizards and snakes. Nice enough though, he had nothing against them. Now Ori stood, his golden eyes switching from the water to the rest of the beach, keeping an eye on the waves and scanning the land for another wolf.

The adolescent male lay motionless on the beach, body and paws half-buried in the sand as the very end of the waves that hit the shore broke over him every few seconds. There was a slight, tired glint in his ruby-colored orbs that signaled the brute was still very much alive. The final fading rays of the sun raked across his deep green form, illuminating the subtle silver shades on his chest and mane.
The journey to find his family and broken pack had been a long and lonely one. Had it not been for natures absolute fury, he would still be in the Tundra, still starting out his life as Emperor. But it had all been lost, and more, by one frightening display of snow and ice. Now, here he lay, with everything but his usual high spirits to console him. He worried for his mother, his young siblings. Did they make it out? And if so, where the hell were they?!
A single yawn broke from his maw, disintegrating his dark thoughts instantly, to be washed away into the sea. But they would return, they always did. Even when the soft pitter patter of paws upon the sand did not rouse the -somewhat- mourning Yagi. He had nothing to fear from the Cove, it was a genuinely pleasant place, albeit almost always deserted. For the life of him he could not figure out why, but he supposed the heat to be a factor. It may not have even been that warm of a day, especially with the chilly wind racing in from the outer ocean. But coming from the Tundra, anywhere was going to be hot to Cedrus.
As the footfalls grew closer, Cedrus decided it was time to check out this not-so-immediate-threat. Lifting his head lazily, the Yagi only plopped it down again in the wet sand as he caught sight of the Eremus male. He blinked, unsure what to say until he noticed the young males slight hesitation toward the water."Greetings, friend. Do delight yourself in the waves. I promise they are far less formidable than they appear."
And as he spoke the words, the sea seemed to slap his sarcastic knowledge, by sending a slightly larger wave to roll over his already soaking form. He laughed softly in return, nostrils snorting out the salty water with a firm distaste.

Those golden eyes looked on warily and stepped slightly closer to him. It of course meant once again moving closer to the water but he opted to take his chances to see if the other wolf was ok.
It seemed some form of answer came swiftly when the spiked green wolf turned his head to look at Ori and began to speak. The words were fortunately kindly spoken, though the water certainly wasn't quite so polite, another large wave crashing towards them and splashing over the stranger.
Aside from wet, the other word that seemed to aptly describe the wolf was big. Ori was used to being considered that himself, amongst Eremus anyway, he never really tried to appear big, though he got the distinct impression that even if he tried, he would still seem very small in comparison to this wolf, whatever he was. He'd been told that myou could be very different, though somehow Orivir didn't see this stranger being a myou and he certainly wasn't a fellow Eremus.
"All the same, I think I'll stay out of the way thank you." Ori responded, giving a slightly weak smile, an attempt to be friendly in return despite those nerves. "Oh I'm Orivir, Ori." He thought he ought to give the male something to call him by, friend was certainly nice but it was worth giving him his name.

As he lay there, Cedrus listened to the sounds around him and felt the different vibrations that the waves made as they caressed the earth. He was reminded why he came here, and why he had stayed a little longer than he had previously planned. He longed for his family, but the Cove was so peaceful, it enveloped all his insecurities and somehow eased his anxious emotions. If all else failed, Cedrus noted to himself, he would return to the land by the sea, and live out the remainder of his days alone.
Blinking away his thoughts as the Eremus spoke, the Yagi nodded at his choice to remain well out of the way of the lively sea. Even he at first had been weary. "Cedrus." The Yagi replied simply, but gently. He was by no means dismissing the little brute. Little compared to him anyway. Deciding it better not to frighten the weary male, Cedrus dragged himself further up-shore and out of reach from the frothing ocean. He would stand when he was sure Ori was comfortable in his presence. After-all, there was no need for a dominant display out here. Out here he was a nobody. Anything that he ever was before didn't matter anymore. He was just another regular joe, just like this fellow.
Once comfortable, Cedrus let his aching body stretch out over the dry sand, long, elegant horns carving intricate designs in its surface. "What brings you out this way, Ori? I'm aware that Eremus prefer more heated areas. Then again, I prefer the cold and yet- here I am." He sighed slowly, surely signalling something was weighing heavily on the Yagi's mind. Had Orivir met Cedrus before, he would have greeted a far different wolf. Perhaps one day that Cedrus would return, but his faith was slowly fading.

So far all he'd learnt was that these waves weren't as bad as they seemed, not that the Eremus actually trusted the sea still, and of course Cedrus' name. It was a bit poor really, still it would likely be rude to fire question upon question at his new friend, at least Cedrus had called him friend.
Cedrus shifted himself further up the beach slightly, those strong looking legs of his pulling him along. Ori was quite aware now how weedy an Eremus must look, especially if other wolves were like this one. They were truly scrawny creatures in comparison to these horned wolves. Whilst the Yagi may have thought the size difference would be uncomfortable, too dominating for the Eremus, Ori truly wouldn't have minded. There was nothing that could be done about the difference in size, and Ori was more prone to submission anyway.
In silence for a moment, Ori simply watched those long horns, certainly a little curious by them. It was a strange sight for the wolf who had never seen such a species, of course in comparison his hooves probably looked mighty odd to most of the other species, not that he was aware of that fact just yet.
Cedrus' voice soon disrupted that quiet, and Ori quickly shifted his gaze from those horns, not wanting to be rude and caught staring. "I wanted to explore." He answered honestly, there was nothing more too it. "I don't know anything about the lands beyond the desert." He admitted now. He had learnt something about Cedrus, or perhaps his species, Ori of course couldn't be too certain. "Do all of... you, prefer the cold?" There was a clear pause over the word you, unsure what else to say, he didn't know what Cedrus was after all. Still, there was one way to fix that. "I'm sorry, what exactly are you?" He felt a little bad for having to ask, but hopefully Cedrus understood, he'd already explained his lack of knowledge after all.

Cedrus closed his eyes and let the sound of the crashing waves take his aching mind to a better place for but a moment. He felt lazy, relaxed upon the shoreline, even more so now with someone to banish the creeping loneliness that plotted to overthrow his sanity. Letting his bulky frame stretch out again, Cedrus came to rest upon his back, legs sprawled into the air. He looked positively silly, but the lingering grin growing on his lips showed he was at utter ease. The only thing that moved now was the brief flicking of an ear as Orivir spoke again.
Ruby orbs shifted, baring their burning intensity upon the little Eremus. Ah, yes. Exploring. Cedrus couldn't think of anyone that wasn't prone to that age old- feeling once in a while. Or perhaps, some may have been hiding what they were really wandering about for. Either way, it was a good enough reason as any. Safe, for those weary of the creatures they met on their little expeditions. He went on to explain his lack of knowledge of anywhere beyond the Desert, and Cedrus nodded in relation. He himself did not know much else other than the Tundra, only having traveled out of the Empire territory when he was very young.
The slightest frown etched onto his features as Orivir subtly queried who, or what rather, he was. So his exploring excuse had indeed, been truthful. He obviously hadn't met any Yagi's in the Desert, if any. "We, being Yagi's, are quite resilient. We may have some places we prefer to live, but mostly we are quite adaptable to many area's and the elements they hold there-in. However, I grew up in the Tundra myself, been there my whole life basically...... But that, my friend, is another story."
He concluded his little spiel with another sigh, finally rolling over onto his belly to sit upright. Even now he towered over the Eremus, but his gentle smile suggested he was far more than just his bulk. "There was a female Erumus with us, though I forget her name. Lovely little white thing she was. Could bend and turn and weave in the most amazing ways she could." The frown reappeared as Cedrus tried to remember, looking slightly mad as he muttered to himself."Napara. That was her name. Did you know her?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][tr][atrb=background,http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq254/Eldarwen5/Wonder%20Why/Tables/Ori1Mid.png]Despite the calm of Cedrus, Ori on the other hand still wasn't quite so sure on those waves though the pair were further away from them now, no chance of the water reaching them. Of course the Eremus had no concept of the tide and how even if they stayed in this very spot for a day, the water could creep up upon them and shrink back further away over time. Maybe he'd learn today, or maybe he would remain blind to this fact.
Whilst the large Yagi stretched out across the sand, the Eremus sat quietly upon it, though not overly hunched up, he held himself a little smaller, simply a habit though certainly not one necessary in the company of this far bigger species. Even at his full height he was no match for Cedrus and probably not for the majority of Yagi, though having only met a single Yagi, Ori couldn't confirm this fact for himself.
Happy to sit in silence as Cedrus explained a little about his species and finally gave the name of them to Orivir. Yagi, that was something he would have to store away for future. He would likely meet another at some point, especially if they too were able to live in various areas. His knowledge of Eremus was of course excellent, though Myou certainly needed some work; they sounded like a confusing species. Yagi though, well he would have to wait and see, it seemed rude to ask so many questions about the species, he'd have to learn through meeting. Cedrus would be his comparison for others though, big, bulky and horned of course being the first things he would look for.
He wondered if Cedrus knew much about Eremus, how they too could cope in various areas, however it seemed that he himself knew one. The name when eventually recalled was certainly not familiar to him, though he had led a very sheltered life really, only really knowing the other Eremus that he lived with. It was only now he was out on his own he was speaking to others. "No." Orivir responded shaking his head gently in reply. "I never met her."
