A sharp howl of pain split through the air, causing a flock of birds residing in the tall grass to suddenly take to the sky. Hazel lay withering on the ground, one of her front paws oozing blood from where it had been bit by a snake. The serpent hadn't been poisonous, but it's fangs had gone deep, causing the young wolf a considerable amount of agony.
Whimpering to herself, the slender ginger female rolled onto her belly and began to slowly lick away the crimson liquid, ears drawn back in fear. She had originally been on a hunting trip with several other wolves, but the group had easily managed to talk Hazel into finishing up the hunt by herself while the others went back to camp to eat. That's when the snake had shown up.
"How am I gonna get back to camp now?" she muttered pitifully, knowing full well that no one was listening.
He was though.
A howl, and then a flock of birds rising from a place not to far away. What was that? His paws started to pad as fast as they could. When he came closer a scent pushed him harder forwards, blood, and from his own pack. Draconox knew that he had to hurry, something was definetely wrong. He trusted himself to know this forest so well that he wouldn´t trip, and started to localize the scent of blood that was so overwhelming, that he didn´t know whom from his pack it was, that had been howling in pain.
Now the wolf was close, he could smell it. When he saw the contours of a wolf he slowed down a bit, his breathing was strained. Now you could clearly see who it was, Hazel. Draconox hadn´t talked so much with her even though they were both young, but now, maybe they could build up a friendship at least.
"Are you okay?" His bark was concern for Hazel's health. Withtout asking for premission he started licking the wound on her front paw, now he noticed that the wound weren´t too serious. "We need to get you to a Healer!" To be polite, even though he knew the answer, he asked. "Do you need a helping paw?"
Draco woke from his dream by rolling into the small lake. He gasped and shivered as he pulled himself onto the land.
