The sun shined broadly upon the cove. The waves strongly crashed onto the shore with powerful and loud sounds as it broke apart onto the sandy beach. There was a light and cooling breeze. This was the warmest day she has had since this was fall. The sun was rather nice today but it was becomeing over cast. So might as well enjoy it while it lasts. Which may not be for long.
In the very distance, a golden figure is seen laying on the sandy shore of the cove rather far from the water. Up closer it is actually seen that it was a golden female wolf sun basking beneath the suns warming rays of sun light. She was very relaxed and comfortable. The green around he middle of her body was a bit hard to see but clearly visible. The green looked rather odd against her golden body.
She was humming a tune ( The Lobster Quadrille ) which sounded much like to violins harmonizing. This immediately gave her away that she was a Cael. A rather common breed seen around these parts.
It was rather odd to see her not scampering into the water eagerly since Caels did belong to the water. But she was found further onto land. Oh well.
She was enjoying herself. Rather not caring that dragons and other things were roaming around. She had full stomach since she recently ate and had settled herself there for maybe about an hour but who's counting?

Mikhail watched his paws as he walked across the shore. The water lapped against his pawpads and it felt cool and odd at once. The wet sand gave way under his light weight, just enough to leave barely paw-prints on the sand. The Keiyou wolf raised his lion-like tail in his intense concentration. Such concentration made him joyful, somehow. Because he got to control something in this topsy-turvy life of his.
Mikhail opened his tan wings slightly before re-folding them so that the right wingtip laid over the left one. Satisfied with the perfect crisscross, he continued watching his feet. The Keiyou pup immensely enjoyed watching the sand come up around the outside of his paws and when he lifted the paw, there would be a print left. The beach would remember that he walked here if nobody else did.
This was a favorite past-time of his. The young wolf was in his gangly adolescent stage of life. Long and thin, gawky and awkward. And it didn’t help that he was sort of a loner. It wasn’t because he was truly in love with the life of the loner, but because of his inability to connect with others. It was no surprise that he almost missed the wolf on the beach. He walked over her with his front paws, but stepped upon her with the hind paws.
Mikhail jumped up and then turned around. He looked at her and then narrowed his eyes a bit. “I didn’t see you.” He glanced up and to the right as if he just remembered something. “Oh right. I’m sorry then.” He then sighed and wondered if he should leave or stay. This was always confusing. Meeting other wolves. Nothing was certain when things like this happened. Mik’s uncertainty only read as awkwardness on his thin face.

Pompeii closed his eyes and slowly, gracefully, rose to the surface of the cool waters. Well, they weren't so cool now. He'd been in so long, he'd gotten used to the first-frigid waves, they were quite warm and comfortable now. He opened his eyes halfway, his muzzle just skimming the surface of the water. He turned onto his back slowly with a chuckle. His shark tail, deep, dark blue, waved slowly, allowing him a smooth cruise. He was happy, to be all by himself with such a beautiful. No one was around to ruin it. No one was around to share it with. No one was...around. Pompeii's ears dropped at the realization that he was, well, lonely. No matter how many times he tried to tell himself it was fine and dandy, fine and dandy was better with a friend. There was always that song. Open Happiness... Come and look me up, it's a brand new day Open up a little happiness today So I feel something new Come and wake me up to a bright awake Open up a smile on another face So I can be someone new... It never failed. A smile weaved itself across Pompeii's face. A feeling of happy something rushed through his body, warmed his face. He laughed again and threw his torso into the air, the rest of his body following along in a wonderful jump from the water. He laughed and sang the chorus louder. When he hit the water with a splash, he frowned. He heard a voice... "...sorry, then."Now who could that be?

The golden jumped up. "Whoa!" She yipped as if she had been waken up from sleep. She looked at the pup who had just awoken her from her half warm slumber though she wasent asleep. The pup scared her. But she then saw it was only a winged pup. "It's fine." She grumbled. She then sat down. She scaned the pup for a moment then stuck her nose up. Hmph. A pup." She mumbled to herself.
Off in the distance, she could hear another Cael sing something but they were so off that she couldent make out the words. Or it seemed like that. Though she saw from the corner of her green eyes something splash into the water. Could have been the Cael she heard or a winged fish maybe. Oh well.
She looked back at the pup. "So, who are you?" She said in a bit of a grumble. She was trying to keep herself calm which sometimes was rather hard. Definently since its a first impression.

Mikhail lowered his eyes when she seemed upset with him. He didn’t understand what he did that was so wrong, so he guessed that perhaps it was because he messed something up. Mik really hated all these intricacies. All this carefulness was making his head ache. He never got social interaction right.
He could hardly remember the female who took him in when he was a puppy, but then again, he had never been particularly affectionate. Instead, he merely drifted away from her. He didn’t even remember his birth mother or how close to death he was without her. The world, definitely, had been cruel to him. But here he was, not caring about the hardships, but turning over the thoughts of whether or not he was speaking to this wolf correctly.
She asked for his identity and he could have simply said, I am Mikhail. But he wondered if doing that was wrong. Perhaps simply saying Mikhail was right, but then again, she could be offended by his lack of words, his frankness. It had happened before. Perhaps he was overthinking it. But really, there was nothing wrong with being careful. The puppy looked stressed and gave a yawn that revealed how stressed he was. The white and chestnut colored Keiyou sighed and then said, “Mikhail. I am Mikhail.” Both options from his mouth. He answered simply enough and the extreme thought behind his words was hidden under the simple answer. Perhaps his delay in answering was a tip-off, but then again, it could be taken for shyness.
Mikhail snorted and added. “And I am no pup. I shall be a year in a month.”

Pompeii turned back onto his stomach, floating on the water. He looked around with his eyes. Who had just been talking? Like, really. He wanted to be sure he wasn’t hearing things. Pompeii figured no one was with him in the water, so he began to swish his tail from side to side, cruising to the shore. In case whoever had been heard wasn’t friendly, Pompeii dived under the water, moving faster. Well, well, well. Pompeii’s eyes found a golden wolf. She was an adult, that could easily be seen. She seemed to be lying on the ground – sleep? – but soon sat up. She was talking. Pompeii couldn’t hear her. She was talking to a pup! Pompeii hadn’t noticed the little puppy, but now that he saw, he wondered how he could’ve missed him. The little guy had wings! Feathery wings, folded at his sides. How cute. The pup spoke to the female then was quiet. There was silence between them, and Pompeii could sense that this silence was an uncomfortable one. He thought at first that these two were mother and child, but then he figured they must’ve stumbled upon each other. What a nice place to meet, on a beach. He wondered if he could break their silence. He shut his eyes and launched himself into the air. These two couldn’t miss it; he was so close to the shore. His shark fin skimmed the surface of the water as he threw himself into a double spin. He opened his mouth and let his tongue loll out. Then, with a playful laugh, he shot into the water, causing a wave to crash into the rocks that surrounded the beach’s edge. They couldn’t possibly keep quiet after that!

There was a moment of silence that made her easily slightly bored. She could see the pup was having deep thought in something. What could it possibly have been. Mikhail. That was actually a good sounding name to her. She then herd him go on that he was almost a yearling and such.
The golden female was about to reply to him by her name but then was again startled bye a huge splash that seemed shorter but louder than the other waves that had been moving about onto the rocks and sand. She caught a glimpse of wolf and shark. Her heart skipped a beat, as short memory's dazed her for a moment. After she was able to hear her thoughts and the wave was over she quickly replied.
"I am Sailoon." She then turned herself to look at the waves. And look for any sight of struggle. It was either the Cael she had heard or it was a land wolf being attacked by a shark like she had once happen to herself. She shivered slightly. She looked back at Mikhail. "Did you see anything over there?" She asked then looked back at the water where she had seen only a very minimum of something.

Mikhail wobbled quietly and shyly on the edge of reason. His mind worried over whether or not his reply was acceptable. He had spent far too long as a social outcast. His body was strangely frozen, in fear, as if a predator was throwing its gaze over the small pup. But it was only the Cael female. The deafening silence seemed to stretch into infinity. But then, something broke the silence by breaking the water.
Another Cael. His shark tail propelled him through the water with such speed that he erupted from the waves and into the air. The noise and drama of the sudden splash scared Mikhail and sent his heart into a fragile flutter. The yearling wolf shut his eyes, but found solace in the fact that the female’s verbal lashing—if any—would be thankfully delayed. And he edged backward in a weak-hearted attempt to escape, but the golden Cael addressed him directly. Mikhail gave a start before he settled and then nervously answered the female’s question. “I didn’t see anything. I only saw what something did.” He attempted to look at the female, but his eyes looked unfocused, and therefore, unconcerned.
Mikhail gulped and wanted an excuse to leave the female’s side. Beside, the worst thing that the splash could have been was a Blind Serpent. The Keiyou wolf said quickly, “I guess I can take a look.” Before hearing her even confirm his decision, he left her side and left the brunt of his stress. And then started to near the edge of the water. His brows bunched together in worry as he realized that he really didn’t enjoy the water. The waves lapped over his paws before they settled to licking only his toes.

--- After his flip, Pompeii drifted under the waves for a bit. He swam in big, slow circles, his short ears perked for any sound above the water. He didn’t hear anything for a while. He stuck his head above the surface curiously. When he saw the older one, the adult, the golden female, looking in his direction, he drew his tail up quickly, dragging himself under. Oh, man, what if they come over? What if they think I’m spying on them? Well…technically, he was. But for good reasons! …Ok…talking. Pompeii could hear the two conversing again. What he didn’t hear was that they were talking about their suspicions about his flash appearance. He heard the little puppy say something. There was the sound of moving sand, like how it moved when wolves kicked it up while walking. The puppy was coming to the water. Pompeii was caught. What to do, what to do?!? Suddenly, Pompeii had an idea. Ooh…He allowed himself some buoyancy and easily floated to the surface of the water again, only allowing his eyes and nose to show, like a wary crocodile. His eyes saw the puppy’s fearful blue ones warily searching the water’s edge. Now was the time. “HEY LITTLE GUY! I’M A BLIND SERPENT!” Pompeii playfully launched halfway out the water, his eyes closed, his legs tucked up. He snapped at the little winged pup, careful not to get anywhere near close enough to hurt him. He opened his eyes with a laugh and stretched his legs out so he wouldn’t land on his chest when he hit the sand. He dropped, his paws caching his torso, his lower half still in the water. His round teeth gleamed in his crooked grin. His eyes were half squinted as water dripped from his head. Droplets fell from his jaw. His wet chest heaved in his excitement.

Sailoon looked took her attention to the pup who was running away from her, though she didn't hear a word he said. She didn't know what she did wrong so she ran up after him. She was a few feet behind him. Geez, he was faster than her. Well he was more acostom to land than her since she was a Cael.
Her heart jumpped for a moment when she saw someone jump out of the water calling themselves a serpant. It made her worrie for the pup for a moment tell she saw it was another Cael like her. (Being rather a jerk she would think.) That would have scared Mikhail she thought, and the other Ceal seemed rather pleased with himself.
Sailoon stood next to Mikhail now. "Hey!" She yipped. She looked at Mikhail to see if he was alright. Acting like his mother wouldent you say?

Mikhail must have jumped at least three feet straight up in the air. His hackles were raised and even his feathers were standing on end. His lionlike tail slapped him like a whip on his chest and he immediately rolled on his back and peed himself. Loud noises were not fun and being scared was not fun either. Especially since he smelled like urine now. Mikhail had had his eyes shut tightly now, but when he heard the bubble of laughter, he slowly and nervously contemplated opening them to see what it was all about. But, then again, he was sure that it could have been a trick of a predator. Crocodiles had their tears. Perhaps blind serpents had their laughs. But, the more he thought about it… He had never heard a non-wolf speaking like a wolf. After turning it over in his mind, he finally, slowly, quietly opened his eyes.
The world was different. There was no frightening atrocity bound on the task of devouring him. There was only a wolf in the water. A dorsal fin cut the water as the tip of a shark’s caudal fin sliced the water in lazy arcs. It was on this tail that Mikhail was more focused. An oddity. A weird thing he had never seen before. Instead of asking about it, despite the fact that his eyes burned with questions, he turned to the female who called for his attention.
“I told you; I’m Mikhail.” He said this snottily, with a growl in his voice. Pathetic growl. The young puppy looked to the happy and wet wolf. “I wasn’t scared.” The smell of urine lingered and betrayed his lie.

--- “Whoa!” Pompeii ducked his head, flattening his ears against his head. His big eyes squinted up as he watched the little puppy jump in fear. Aw, he didn’t mean to scare him that bad! When the puppy came back down, he laid there for a while. Pomp saw that his wonderful feathers were on end. The arms of his wings quivered a little and the smell of urine wafted up Pompeii’s nose. Wow, he really scared the little guy! Pompeii relaxed his body and stretched out his forearms so that they rested on either side of the pup. He opened his mouth to say something when the female hurried over to them. “Hey!” Her voice was protective and loud, and Pomp was sure it was so to keep him away. Pompeii sat up quickly and scooted backwards a bit. It was kind of hard, though. His tail was heavy and it started to dig a hole in the sand that sat under the shallow start of the ocean. The little puppy in front of him turned to look at her. “I told you my name is Mikhail!” After watching the female come closer for a bit, the puppy looked up at him. “I wasn’t scared.” Scared of what? Pompeii thought. Oh, yeah! He closed his eyes and let out a chuckle. He leaned his big head down to look at Mikhail, an eyebrow ridge raised with amusement. “ Sure you weren’t. And I’m really a serpent!” He smiled and flicked his tail, sprinkling the little Keiyou with water. “Cool name, kid, er, Mikhail.” He sniffed hard; water had gotten up his nose and it stung. “I’m Pompeii, but you can call me Pomp…and, uh, you?” Pompeii looked up at the female that intimidated him so much. There was something about her that was different. His squished his face up multiple ways, squinted up his eyes, flicked his ears, and bit his tongue until he finally got it. “Hey! You’re a Cael, like me!” He looked down at Mikhail, tilted his head, and then looked back up at the golden female. “What’re you doin’ outta the water?”

"Sailoon." She grummbled. " Ya, I am a Cael. And I have my own resons to not be in the water, not that you would understand." She mummbled. Sailoon plopped herself down to sit. She never really liked meeting other Caels. After a while it had gotten quite annoying. -mainly because they start a conversation about the whole thing- And though she was sometimes quite talkitive, she never had the time for it, at least she thought so.
She looked at the water for a moment, knowing it really was quite tempting. She -accitently- dipped her paw into the cool water, finding it was freezing. So Sailoon's back legs and tail began to merge together and turn her fur into blueish green scales. She held back a yowlle, no Cael would ever get use to the change, at least it dident for her. She looked at Mikhail and then the other Cael. She then draged her tail into the ice cold water.
Everything seemed to get colder now because the clouds had coverd the sun and already winds began to kick up. Sand began to get into her eyes witch was very annoying. Sailoon could also feel that other creatures like possibly dragons and unicorns were comeing out soon if not already.

Hissing in both dissapointment and annoyance Zero shook his white pelt, his lion like tail curled up in disgust. He had failed again to land, hoping the others wouldn't see him, the cool air blew against his face and hitting his thick neck fur that protected him from breaking his neck. Zero's gray shaded eyes traveled to the waves that were crashing on the rocks and rising onto the beach. His eyes traveled further than the seas and skies, he was looking, quietly. He shook his pelt again, hoping to get rid of all the sand that was on his fur. He flicked his tail in annoyance as he opened his mouth to draw in the scent, noticing some wolves close to him. Cautiously he stealthly crept forward, his paws soft on the stone ground, his eyes were flicking from side to side, aware of danger. Zero closed his mouth and held his breath, he was stealth on land, better than air. His tail flicked up like a cat's, as he slipped behind lots of tufts of green grass. He watched quietly from behind.
