What a beautiful day. Dark, gray clouds covered the entire sky. The air was cold, the rocks were cold, and it would likely snow later. It was a wonder the river hadn't frozen yet, though Ice was dotting the edges. A frigid wind was filtered through the rocks and it whistled sharply in the canyon. It looked absoloutley bleak. So yes, Sasha's sarcastic thoughts aside, nothing was beautiful about it.
Oh, if he could fly this would be so much easier. Instead, he had to tread south, and he had not yet made it there. Why the hell was this stupid canyon in the way? What time of day was it? It had to be late- the gloom was darkening. The Peacock Myou had to make it to shelter before nightfall hit, otherwise he'd be cold all night and risk getting sick- or worse. Sasha refused to let it bother him. He held his head forward, pushing onward. He was, unfortunately, walking towards the wind. He was high above the bottom, walking on one of the steep and narrow paths that were formed from the rocks on top. Frankly, he expected to see a cave or overhang any minute. He needed one. His tail feathers were flattened against the wind, and his head-crest was doing the same. I'd better not lose any feathers over this. He grumbled to himself. After all, his good, heroic looks were his best bet with the ladies.

Saber flew in through the cool air, his shadow barely visible without the sun. He felt refreshed as the air slapped his face and chilled his bones. His sinister eyes watched the ground below, unafraid of any gryphons or something that would hurt him in the sky. He saw, with his hawk-like eyes, another wolf. A spark of insanity burned its way into Saber's heart. It'd been a while since he'd done anything of interest and the Sennyo he'd seen earlier that week had gotten on his nerves. It was a rare beauty to see a Sennyo, but also a pain in the butt to talk to.
With a soft landing, Saber tucked his wings into his flanks, and all that one would be able to see of them was the bony elbow that poked out of his shoulders. He figured this wolf wouldn't be as horrible as the Sennyo he'd met before. After all it wasn't a Sennyo, it was just a regular old Myou. Perhaps this one wouldn't be as self centered as the other wolf he'd met.
Before taking a step in the right direction, Saber looked at the view. His paws were clinched to the edge of the cliff and he leaned slightly toward the emptiness. He watched the river below, crashing through the rocks where it'd worn away the path centuries ago. A gust of wind hit him in the face and he fell back a little, realizing a gust in the other direction would have sent him overboard. Not that it mattered, even if he didn't have wings, dying didn't seem like such a bad thing to him.
He sighed and took a few steps back, seeing the peacock myou in the distance. He still had time to fly away again, but he made the choice to stay put. He was desperate for something to do. It almost seemed appealing to him to try and play a game on the myou. Perhaps he would. Pretending like his masterful eyes didn't really see the wolf approaching, Saber closed his claws on the edge of the cliff again. He waited until the myou got closer and then tipped himself over the edge, falling like a stone toward the river below.

Iris carefully picked her way around the cliff edge, her midnight black fur flailed in the gushing wind partly covering her tear stained muzzle. She let out a lonely howl, the wind barely carried the howl and it was cut short with a sudden gush of wind.
