Saber wandered aimlessly, hunting for anything eatable. His pawsteps were fragile and he haunted the meadow with his looming body and heavy wings. Without sound he took flight, his dirt colored wings hurtled him into the sky. There were no prey here, he needed to search from above, like a hawk he watched everything that moved. Most things were small and unworthy, but he was only a single wolf and could not bring down any dear on his own.
The air rushed through his stiff porcelain fur, it had not been groomed in too long of a time and was beginning to mat. Earlier he'd been swimming and the sediment from the water had stuck to him when he dried. Where his legs and his body met he was still damp. It began to itch insistently. He ignored it though, perhaps if he flew long enough he would dry off completely.
There. Saber spotted a jackelope, something easy to take down and not at all that small. He watched carefully, making sure to swoop low and keep his shadow from scaring the little beast off. Despite Saber's efforts, he was spotted and the antlered rabbit scampered away, just not in time. He dove for it, landing both front feet across it's neck and haunches. CRUNCH. The satisfying sound echoed in Saber's ears as he drove his teeth into the rabbit's flesh. Blood splattered everywhere across his fur and pooled in the grass. Not an ounce of respect was felt for the thing that just died for him to live.

She had slipped away in the night, leaving her two month old pups with out their mother. She really didn't care if they lived or died. She never wanted them in the first place.
The tall, dark pelted sennyo moved through her favorite part of the meadow. Even though frost clung to the grass, she still went over it, watching the glistening diamonds melt in the semi-warm sun. She came to the water's edge, looking into part of the river that was not frozen. There were thin sheets littered through out, but nothing terrible yet. She tired her best to look at her reflection, moving this way and that, trying to see if her lithe figure had returned.
Much to her pleasure, it had, her silken pelt had regained it's sheen, her blue butterfly wings glistened with health. Her antennae glowed nicely and her long, practically floating tail was soft and feathery as ever. A confident smirk crossed her velvet may, her cold, blue eyes sparked with new life. She was back in buissness.

Saber licked his lips in happiness, a rare occasion for him. This was an excellent day so far. Though it was not long before Saber felt a familiar ravenous taste in his mouth. The brute's throat burned for more. His blood thirst was endless and unmerciful. This was how he lived, this was Saber's life.
Blood was in short supply, so Saber would have to do with water instead. He took flight again, swooshing in the air until he found the river this meadow was known for. He landed with a bang, dust from the earth flying in every direction around him from the force of his wings. A devilish smile drew a crooked line on his maw. Landing was always fun like that.
With a yawn Saber sauntered toward the water's edge, noticing the shadow in his step. He lapped from the cool winter liquid and didn't bother to look up at intervals for safety. He figured if there was something out there he could certainly take it on. At least it would be something to do. Shrugging off danger as if it were nothing was one of Saber's many stupid talents. He lifted his head allowing the freezing liquid to trickle down his neck and through his fur. He shivered and growled bitterly. the cold was not befitting to his person.
The brute lay down in the sun next to the river, unwittingly only a few yards from where the fea would be. The sound of pawsteps were prevalent in the crunchy ice. When he heard her approach he crawled to cover, hoping she would not pick up on his scent. There were not many places to hide, and the only thing he found was a large tree without leaves or any kind of cover apart from it's humongous trunk. So Saber lowered himself to the ground as much as he could, blending in well with the snow. His brown-tipped wings perched gracefully on his flanks, hidden as well by the puffs of dead grass covered in snow.
She looked like a sennyo. he was pretty sure she was. His eyes squinted closely together to see better, though his eyesight was fine. She was black with wings much different from his own. Where his were feathery and large, hers were small and powdery. He let out a silent huff and scrutinized her for a little longer, unsure of weather to let her know he was here or just observe from afar. She seemed to be examining something in the water. He watched as she twisted and turned to see the reflection.
A wisp of wind tumbled in from behind him and he worried that it would bring her his scent, so he ducked even closer to the earth, digging his head out of sight. All of this was to no avail though, any wolf who looked hard enough would see him easily.

She stood and stretched out her willow like limbs. A stray breeze brought her an unfamiliar scent, she turned toward the wind, eyes narrowing. It was a close scent, she did not like people hiding from her. She looked around, the only place for anyone to hide was by her favorite tree in the area.
She strode over there, keeping a fair distance in case they were dangerous. Her antenna bobbed in the air before her forehead, then her cold eyes fell upon a lump. The snow was not THAT thick that she wouldn't notice the breathing hunk of fur and flesh. "A little old for games of hide and find, aren't you?" Her voice was like a bell, elegant yet sharp.

The fea swept across the land in a few quick strides, obviously noticing something. He couldn’t see very well and only knew this because of the noise in her pawsteps and the huffing of her lungs. He was busted now. If a wolf could roll his eyes, Saber would do just that. Unfortunately they can’t, so Saber’s eyes would just have to deal for right now.
‘A little old for games of hide and find, aren’t you?’ Her voice buzzed in his ears like an annoying bug. He gave one huff and stood to shake off the snow on his flanks. There was a bit of mud left in his belly fur where he had laid on the ground. Nevermind that, Saber was dealing with socializing now.
He growled his response, “Who says? I’ll never be old.” He puffed his chest out like a little pup trying to look cool. It was true enough. Saber didn’t want to be old. It was his dream to die young, in battle or something meaningful like that. In reality Saber was far from a meaningful wolf. His life was good enough, he supposed, but there was no passion, no gift. There was nothing to rely on when the going got tough.
Now closer, he could see her better, his eyes had not done her justice. She was lean and fit, black, the opposite of him, and seemed to be fairly okay in terms of attitude. He was the kind of wolf that didn’t mind a little snappiness. He understood that. Everyone had those days, for Saber they were just about every other day.
He leaned in just a bit, catching her own scent in the air. It wasn't too bad, not disgusting at least. He could live with it. "Don't you think we should all stay young? That should be everyone's dream at least, so long as you aren't one of those wolves that just finds that kind of thing appealing." Saber winked at her.

She was taller, but he was heavier. Her gaze went over his body, not hiding the fact she was assessing his every quality. Her tail seemed to hover like a cat's, twitching now and then.
She smirked in mild amusement at his retort, he had a bit of spunk, that would be fun. Banter was always amusing to the age old female. " That all depends on if age is in your mind or body, now doesn't it." She gave him a coy smile as she felt his eyes on her, her antennae folded back over her head as if she were smoothing back hair.
She walked a few steps away from him, allowing him to take in her full figure, she tossed a glance over her shoulder at him, "Some of us will remain forever young, keiyou." She was not one to boast, but she was not above teasing and playing games. Her silky pelt rippled over her finely boned figure

‘That all depends on if age is in your mind or body now, doesn’t it.’ Saber had no response for her, he was sure she’d understand the silence. It didn’t matter if age was in your body so long as it wasn’t in your mind.
She took a few steps back and he watched her show off her pelt, laughing in his head at how ridiculous all this was. He was always slumped in his poise, head lowered a bit and shoulders high. Saber didn’t ever care what he looked like, or about anything really. He hung from the sky like a puppet, but at least he didn’t walk like one. His walk was graceful, like most wolves’ were. It was necessary to be a good hunter.
The fea played along, ‘Some of us will remain forever young, keiyou.’ Interesting, he knew she was a Sennyo and that kind of remark fit her perfectly, but a certain angry fire kind of sparked in his heart. ”Nothing is forever, sennyo.” Saber snorted with extra emphasis on ‘nothing.’
The rabbit’s blood was almost cleared from his teeth, still leaving a few stains in between. His maw had speckles of it all around his nose and it didn’t matter how many times he would lick his muzzle, the blood would not come off. This Saber knew, so he didn’t bother trying. Instead he spoke through the blood. ”Name’s Saber.” He respected this wolf. She wasn’t stupid and wasn’t shy. She seemed confident in herself, and that was something Saber was jealous of.
”Where do you come from?” He was curious; did a sennyo come from far away or somewhere special like that? Or were they just like normal wolves who just lived forever?

She was done flaunting for now. She thrived on doing what it was she wanted when she wanted to without regard to others. She was happy doing that, and she could not help but smirk when she clearly hit a chord.
She could feel the anger in his voice, and it really didn't bother her. He was just jealous of her youthfulness. She kept her cold unfaltering gaze on him. She did not have a witty retort of him, just a smirk of knowing. Her light wings fluttered casaully, opening up a little as the sun peaked out to warm her back.
Then, he gave his name. Saber. That was all well and good, not that she really cared what he was called. She noticed the blood on his maw and remembered that she was a bit peckish. She glanced over at the river, wondering if there were any fish that would be accessible. She knew she could not find any fruit to enjoy at this time of year.
She did not bother to provide her name, he had not proven himself worthy to know what she called herself. At least not yet. Then again, she had met wolves that never got to know her name. Others just made one up for her. Her soft ears did flicker when he asked where she was from. She turned back to look at him.
" Where am I from? It's been so long I don't really remember. Far far away from hear that's for certain. I've been traveling ever since I was able." It was odd that she had even lingered in this place for so long. Well, some circumstances kept her here, and other times she had found amusing wolves to keep her busy.

The Sennyo did not give her name in return, but instead glanced casually over to the river. He was a little annoyed with her, but not all that much. The spark of anger had burnt out as quickly as it came, but there were still a few ashes of irritation.
Saber didn’t really know what to do in the presence of this wolf. She was a traveler, as most wolves were, so she should be used to meeting other wolves. How strange, thought Saber. He’d never met a wolf before that was so… disconnected. She didn’t seem to care about anything really. This came as a wonder to Saber, who was rather sociable and liked to see other wolves. However, this was a Sennyo, and they usually didn’t care much for other breeds of wolves anyway because others died so quickly in comparison to a Sennyo.
He wasn’t angry enough to fight with her, nor did he even want to. Instead he paced toward the tree again and plopped down in the sun and snow. His tail stretched out behind him and his wings folded neatly into his flanks. The weather was cool and the ground was as well, but Saber’s thick fur helped him stay warm. He didn’t invite her to sit down with him, he figured if she wanted to she would, and he doubted she did. In fact, he didn’t think she’d even stick around for very long.

However, it took a bit to grab her attention enough to get her to engage in more...lively discussions. Perhaps she was out of practice, she had been so angry for the past few months that she didn't flirt like she used to. Her games had screamed to a halt, all because of one myou. The thought of him brought irritation to her cold eyes. She blinked him away.
She turned back to the keiyou as he moved to sit down under her favorite tree. She briefly wondered if the remains were still there. She suspected not, odds are something came around and ate the stillborn. She moved toward the tree as well, but her light steps took her to a low hanging and barren branch. She hopped up with a little effort, wolves were not usually meant for trees. She peered over at Saber, "Where do you come from, and why are you here?"
She was not trying to be rude, despite her abrasive question. It was more of a question on what his story was. She had nothing better to do with her day, and she had not decided if he was worth her time or not. Maybe he had an amusing tale to share, or at least something to bring up more questions.

Saber perked his ears up, a little surprised when she came towards him and perched on a tree branch. He knew little about sennyos, but it was obvious by the way she moved that she was very lightweight. He wondered why she’d bothered to come sit with him, he didn’t think she cared enough to bother with anything more than a simple hello and goodbye.
‘Where do you come from, and why are you here?’ Again, Saber was surprised. Perhaps she wasn’t as horrible as he thought she was.
”Well, sennyo, I come from the mountains. Not the same mountains as we have here, but different ones that are farther away.” A series of painful memories flooded his mind one after the other, but he didn’t let it show on his face, or at least he hoped the sennyo didn’t notice. ”As for why I am here, well that’s because of my sister and her pup.” A menacing glare came to his eyes as he stared at the snow-covered grass. It felt strange to blame his issues on a single pup and its mother, but that was how it went. He wished he could go back and handle the situation differently, but he couldn’t and would never have that chance again.
”I wish I could strangle them both.” The thought came out before he could stop it, before he realized how wretched it was to want to strangle a pup. Oh well, the sennyo wouldn’t care, and Saber wasn’t worried about her because to be honest, they probably weren’t going to be best friends.

She felt the irritation in his voice, and it made her curious. Before she could poke at him though, he basically told her why he was irritated. He was upset about something his family did to him.Her ears perked up a little at his comment about strangling a pup. He was more similar to her than she had expected.
"Why don't you strangle them then? If they deserve it, they deserve it." It was clear that there was no sympathy in her voice for the pup. No little tugging at heart strings, or maternal instinct kicking in. She felt nothing. Her long tail floated down on the branch a little, twitching like a panther's. She glanced toward the mountain range. She had seen more impressive structures in her travels.
The breeze was pleasantly chilly by this point, her well kept fur rippled slightly. Her gaze traveled down toward a certain spot under the tree. Wondering how long it took before all traces of the birth had vanished.

Saber cocked his head, they had something in common, a chilly heart. The only difference was that hers was cold and not just chilly like his own. "I don't bother, that would take a great deal of effort and I don't have the means for killing them both. My sister is now the alpha, and the pack wouldn't let me strangle either one." He failed to mention that he used to be the omega. It was an embarrassing fact. If he dared show up on their lands he would be killed, and he had very little skill when it came to battle. he could hardly even hunt.
Saber glanced back at the femme, she didn't have an ounce of remorse or any emotion written on her face. She was clear of them. He envied this, for Saber's heart was weaker than that. "Why?" He thought out loud, then realized that he didn't mean to say it, "I mean, why don't you care?" She was a femme after all, didn't they have some sort of protective side to them? This sennyo got weirder and weirder. He didn't understand her, but at the same time he almost wanted to be her.
Saber didn't want to care about his past, he didn't want to worry about the future. He just wanted to go along his path in solitude and be left alone. At least that's what he thought would cure his pain. Though, this sennyo seemed to have a lot of what he didn't have, emotionally. Things like control.

She looked at him, a slight smirk, a shadow of flirtation gracing her maw only. She could appreciate not wasting energy if it was not necessary.
Her ears twitched at his unintentional question. " Why?" She was confused by the question, but got over it relatively quickly. "Pups are just small wolves. they shouldn't get different treatment if they need to be strangled." She practically spit out the word 'pups'. Her wings fluttered a little, " I also have no reason to care for something out of my control." It was a little odd thread of conversation
