Nothing greeted her in the morning, she could not tell if it was sunny or if it was raining? If she should stay in her little cave or if she should venture out. Her right side told of silence her left told of the wonderful things in the world. She could here the soft chirping of birds, the babbling of a creek, the sounds of the cool wind rustling the dying grass. She could feel the vibrations of pray running around, the vibrations of calls. Amori could smell the sweet smells, oh how she longed to see it all but there was no hope of her sight ever returning. It had and would always be long gone same with her hearing, what else could possibly be wrong with this female? Well that was quite simply take a look at her height.
She decided to remove herself from her shelter stretching each leg, painful as it was for her to do her joint were no longer good but they were not shot. Amori was still prepared to accept a male who could show her he was just as caring as her last almost mate, she did not want to go back threw what her father had put her threw. She shook her head and sat back on her haunches, cracking could be herd and the visible pain could be seen etching its way across her face. She whimpered and laid down rolling over on her back, she could feel the cool breeze across her stomach and shivered but she did not move just laid there silently not wanting to draw attention to herself.

[scrolly:h(420),w(240),sy] Dig dig dig dig dig! Scratch, paw, sniff, scratch, dig dig dig!
A young male lupus of about 3 years was rooting around in the pine needles. His gray pelt, splashed with a blue saddle, was covered in dirt and debris. But he knew it was here! It had to be! He growled in frustration at the soft dirt. Taking a break, he pressed his half-ear to the ground, huffing as he listened for the sounds again.
He had been attempting to unearth the mysterious critter for an hour now. He was oblivious to anything around him, he didn't even notice the scent of a another near by. He pulled his head back up and glared at the ground with his shocking yellow eyes. Maybe if he stared at the ground long enough...it would reveal to him where the hidden morsel was....
His blue tipped tail wavered steadily. Patience was not a strong point for him, but he was determined. Whatever it was...he would get it. He lunged forward, paws ripping into the dirt once more.
DIG DIG DIG!!!

What was that awful vibration? She flopped to her side and then stood shaking her pelt off. It felt like digging and it even sounded like digging when she turned to her good side but where on earth was it coming from? She huffed and put her nose to the air, catching scent of another. She headed that way, tail never leaving the flattened stature against her rump. There would never be any of that unless they proved themselves worthy. She happened to get hit by some dirt and then oomph she ran into something, she backed "Im sorry I-I did not know you were there." She spoke nervously. Well she would become someone’s lunch today, who would not want to take advantage of a poor lonely blind wolf?
She continued to move away turning her head has she was trying to get away from him and the dirt that was flying. She whimpered and sat back, flipping over onto her back showing she was totally submissive to him, that she did not want to cause any harm nor could she really. She relaxed slightly but still had that un easy feeling. She flopped to her side again, making sure her left side was visible so she could hear him better when and if he did speak. She whimpered again and waited for the worse to come but sometimes even others surprised her and she was hoping this was one of those times.

Victory! With one final scoop he had dislodged the last the the dirt to reveal a hole that was obviously once a tunnel. However, his surprise came not from the hole, but from behind him. Someone bumped him and he teetered off balance. He slammed a foot to the ground to try to keep himself from falling, too bad for him he hammered his paw right into the hole. He basically fell on his face, one leg stuck in the hole.
He struggled to get his footing with the other three legs, all the while craning his neck to see what it was that hit him, he figured that it was not dangerous, or else he would have been in more of a predicament. He saw another wolf....or at least he thought it was a wolf. Certainly was an odd one. His eyes narrowed at the submissive display.
"What are you on your back for? Can't you see I'm stuck here? No thanks to you I might add." He grumbled a little, trying to pull his foot out was proving difficult. He didn't notice how she turned her head, or that her eyes were clouded over. He was just focused on escaping the now hated hole. "Let go of me!"
He wanted to talk to the female, he always wanted to talk to females, but he had to get over and obstacle, or rather out of one. With a scrambling heave, he managed to wrench his foot out of the trap, but he stumbled backwards and landed with a "UMPH!" on his back, sending a cloud of dust in the air.

As she herd his oomph on to the ground she stood. Her eyes did not set on him she had her left side facing him, a chilling breeze blew across the land and she shivered. "Look im sorry that I did not see you there." She spoke softly, she did not want to draw fact to that she could not see nor hear out of one side she just wanted to fit in. She caught wind of something and turned her head so it faced where he had been moments before, she could smell a rodent type thing and that most have been what he was after, she stood slowly and then dove for it. Her mouth biting down on its soft neck she turned to face him and dropped it at his back feet which were currently in the air. "There you go and I truly am sorry." She was still standing and was getting ready to go, after everything she had done she thought that was the best idea.
She turned back the way she had come still picking up on her faint scent, she could follow it back to the cave she had found and hid out in there or she could leave these lands all together. She whimpered and then sat back not for sure what she wanted any more, her right side was facing him which was a bad thing, so she turned deciding that she would try and tough it out and see what he had to offer but if he tried anything or made fun of her she would be out, quicker then anything. She yawned mouth opening wide showing her sharp pearly whites. "If we are going to speak I always need you on my left side so I can hear you, can you also give me a clue as to where you are when we speak?" She spoke softly "I am Amori and who might you be?" She waited for his answer in her darkened world.

He remained on his back, watching her through his shocking eyes, he watched her move to the hole and catch the mole or whatever it was he was chasing. He rolled onto his belly and pouted at the dead thing, " Aw...it's no fun if you kill it for me." He had a smirk plastered on his scarred muzzle, but it faded as she turned to walk away.
He leaped to his feet, shaking out his pelt, [b" Hey, where are you going?" |
[/b] He stepped after her but halted as soon as he started. He panted a little, then tilted his head as she spoke to him, " I'm right in front of you....oooh!" He finally put the pieces together, " Can't see, huh? Good job for surviving though." He gave credit where credit was due, to live this long with a handicap spoke wonders for the female. She gave him a little smile, "Sorry it was right there and you were not moving to terribly fast to kill it yourself and it was the least I could do after causing you problems." She sat back, "Im not going any where at least not yet." She yawned again and as he spoke once more, she lowered her crown and gulped, "Thanks I can say that if it were not for my almost mate showing me how to use what I do have I would not be alive im actually surprised that im still alive it was touch and go till I was three." She left it at that, "I also cant hear out of my right ear if you ever want to know why I may share with you even though it is a hard topic for me you know you think your parents are suppose to be there for you and protect you well not all are like that."
She flashed him another smile, "Well its nice to met you Pyke what brings you out on a day like this? She questioned softly, laying down and rolling over so she was on her back, she liked to be on her back it gave her a new way of sensing, she did not care if he saw she was almost hairless on her belly, she did not care if questioned the scars and hair loss she would explain it to him in due time everything had there place and hers was to be here and alive. She flopped on to her side panting slightly despite the cold she was fairly warm. Amori yawned, "Can you tell me what the sky looks like today?" She tilted her head and waited.

[scrolly:h(420),w(240),sy] Almost mate? That was a new term to him, he didn't think too much of it though he really didn't pry into people lives past what he thought would entertain him. She looked like she had a hard life, and despite Pyke's usual lack of tact, he tried to contain himself around females at least. To be honest he was a little baffled by how dryly she was stating everything, she was surprisingly blunt and to the point, there was no room for Pyke's quips even if he wasn't able to contain himself.
She asked him a question, he had to refocus to be able to answer, "What? Oh. I hang out around here most the time. And I had been tracking that little bugger since before the sun was up. Got a little wrapped up in it I suppose." He smirked confidently. His own scars, including his halved ear, seemed to be enhanced by the angle of the sun, they were hit in such a way that they cast small shadows that pinpointed their locations.
He tilted his head a little as she rolled onto her back, then blinked and slowly looked up at the sky. "The Sky? Um....well, it's big.....the trees are kind of blocking parts of it, so it sorta looks like a river from a clifftop. It's mostly blue....a little yellow still from the sunrise. Thin clouds...kinda goldeish from the sun..." He never had to describe the sky to anyone before. Sure he and his sisters had played games to find shapes in the clouds...but no one ever asked to describe them past that....

She was trying to remember the last time she had seen the sky? It was a time when she was free, never thought any of that was going to happen. She was only just a young pup leaving the den to go exploring with mother, that’s the last time she had seen the sky the last time she had seen her mother alive. I guess you could say it was the last time for everything because shortly after that her father put her in the cage type thing and left her, she was on his time and his schedule. Her tail thumped the ground softly as she listened to him, a grin finding its place on her features. "Yes but you see now you don’t have to worry about him you can go find a new bugger to catch, I know there are a lot of them around here." Her grin widen after she spoke pleased with her response. Even though it was not there to offend him she was just happy that she had thought of something. She fell to her side and then stood shaking off before sitting back on her haunches.
Listing to him once again on her good side, "The sky it sounds beautiful I wish I would have gotten to see it one more time before all this happened." She sighed and looked off into the other direction, something had caught her attention. Amori could smell it but not see it and then she could feel the vibrations threw her paws, before she herd the rustling. "It’s a deer right?" She asked him, hoping she had it right most of the time she did and she was not about to lose that reputation. She began to pant, "Could we take it?" she asked softly, just to prove her point her stomach growled and she gave him a sheepish grin embarrassed slightly at such a silly thing. She could tell it was still in there presence it had not left yet. She could smell the fear as it spotted them but there was something off about it, hmm what was it she could not put her nose to it.
Then it hit her like bricks, it was hurt what she was smelling was its own blood. She whimpered and turned so she was fully facing that way and then sighed before laying down to wait for his call, she did not want to go get hurt and this was one way to do such a thing. She rested her head on the ground not tired just simply waiting, she whimpered again and raised her crown and turned it so she was looking at him, well not really she was just hoping she was staring at him, "You make the call". She spoke softly, often times she made her own call but it was small pray enough to get by for a day, this was large pray and she was not the best with that. Amori did not say any more she just waited.

[scrolly:h(420),w(240),sy] He chuckled a little at her words, he was not sure how to respond, he had not been in this kind of situation before. It didn't feel right to be his usual obnoxious and jester like self. He was an ass at heart, but didn't have the heart to be an ass to this female.
He glanced up at the sky again, it was kind of nice. He didn't usually pay much mind to it. Maybe you didn't know what you had until it was gone. He shrugged his shoulders, then froze at the scent she was talking about. He slowly turned his head to see where it was coming from..."Yeah...It's a deer. It's already seen us though, might be hard." He soon picked up the scent of blood, his ears came up with interest, " Or not....." He slowly turned around, his yellow eyes fixing on the beast.
His tail twitches in anticipation, then there was an odd static like noise followed by the scent of ionization....a scent usually preceding an arch of electricity. If he could control it this time around, he might be able to use his power to his advantage. "It is a pretty straight shot to the deer for you if you want to charge it...I can try to move around it....." With that he slowly backed up into the bushes, as if the deer had intimidated him. He was trying to lure it into a false sense of security....he whispered, half hidden in the brush, "Ready when you are...."

She was quick but was going to take it slow the first few steps and then she would charge it. She shook her pelt off as she stood, hearing him hide himself in the bushes, she panted and sat back. Listing as he said he was ready when she was, hmm she was not ready not yet, she needed to get a good sense so she could stay out of the way of its legs. She stood and began to jog, towards the left seeing the deer was going right, she wanted it not to feel like it needed to run at least not yet. She turned with easy and now was behind it but she was still jogging, mmm not yet. She kept telling herself, she was putting distance between them she needed that because in easy strides she would have caught up to it. When it looked like she was going to let it get away, she burst to life a few easy movements she turned it towards him, a growl escaping her. As she crouched and continued to move it towards him, she got a better feel the lower she was. The deer was tiring fast and well Amori was not even close to tiring even at her fast pace which now she had slowed down.
Another growl as she continued to push it, when was he going to attack there was no way in hell she could take it down by herself. The deer kicked but she had positioned herself just right so she would not be hit. Tongue rolled out as she began to pant, now she was getting tired she was not that in shape any more but she was still fit. She lowered her frame having the deer trapped in one area it would not be hard now for him to take the deer from the side, seeing the deer was still focused on shaking her, Amori growled and snapped her jaws, threaten it. She crept closer, inch by inch but still enough room in between to not be hit by kicks. She simply was enjoying watching her food in distress and she was enjoying playing with it too.

He moved as quickly as he was able through the thin brush. He got snagged in a thorn bush at one point, so it slowed him down a little. However, on the benefit to that, it aggravated him enough to trigger his power. He had to be careful now that he could taste it, could feel it in his feet. Tiny sparks and shocks like friction were forming a static buffer.
He trotted quickly, trying to keep an eye out for painful vegetation then he heard her growling. She must have cornered it. Awesome! He leaped out from behind the deer and went straight for the fleshy bits of it's legs in traditional wolf fashion. He latched on and tried to rip away at some flesh. However, in a nontraditional wolf fashion, he brought up a paw and attempted to scratch. At it, he pulled his muzzle away long enough to shot a warning, "Don't touch it!'
Then there was an odd flow of energy out of his paw and into the deer, he was electrocuting it. He bit back in, trying to gauge how much power to use. The deer seemed to be spazzing out so he pulled his paw back, and then ripped into the belly, the legs of the deer now moving sluggishly enough not to be too dangerous. "Ok, now help!" He was mostly sure that the electricity had dissipated to a none dangerous level for the female to help him take down the deer.

She was panting hard but still kept the deer where it needed to be, she felt him before she herd him enter, she managed to focus and gain some of her energy, heaving his warning she waited for him to finish, she did not know what he was doing but she sure the hell did not want to get hurt. So she waited and focused on relaxing but she was still ready to spring when he told her to help, that was if he did. It seemed as though time went on and on before he finally told her to help, she stood and shook her frame off. Circling it, she could about figure out were he had gone, the stomach and the legs so she decided if they wanted to get this done as quick as possible she was going to go for the neck. She turned and hopped grabbing the neck she bit down hard and tore, to her it was all a bit funny so she let go and worked her muzzle back and forth. Snapping threaten as it tried to get her, she attacked its life side again the back legs and then went back to the neck twisting it when she saw fit and tearing more away.
The beast finally went down in a pool of blood and she sat back tongue rolling out as she panted, "What did you do to it?" She asked softly "And you can eat first". She spoke again laying down on her belly resting her head on her paws. To her well she really did not know but the male should always eat first in her book. She raised her head and shook it, "Thank you for a wonderful day so far I did not think it was going to go like this, I have quite enjoyed it so far, something that every wolf needs I guess." She yawned and a whimper escaped her as she did so. She could not see what the deer looked like now but she could, hear, feel and smell and smell was a big thing right now. She backed slightly and waited.

He was a little confused when she went for the throat. What wolf did that? He suspected it was because of the other scent that mingled with wolf. She was a myou right? That's what they were called if he was remembering right. She seemed feline...maybe that explained it. He marked off the confusion in his mind and went about studying the corpse.
His ear and a half perked up when she said he could eat first. Awesome! He was never allowed to eat first in his home pack, being the youngest. He did not question the gesture and went to the stomach of the deer. He dug in, tearing and barely chewing as he went.
After a while, he felt a little rude, so he lifted his head, muzzle bloodied from the meal, " You can join anytime." Then, as an after thought to her previous question, "Oh yeah...I guess I gave it a lightning bolt. That's my power....when I have control of it that is. I just gave it a jolt to slow it down. I usually fry them, ha ha...I was lucky today."
He sat back, actually allowing himself to slow down and enjoy the meal. He licked his muzzle in satisfaction. He looked up at the sky, it seemed to be clouding up. The air smelled cool, perhaps it would snow later in the evening. He was brought back to her by her voice, he was a little embarrassed at the thank you, "Oh....no problem, Amori. It's been interesting so far."

She gave him a smile and felt and listened as he tore into the deer barely chewing it, if not at all. She was a little mortified but she got over it, she took a timid step forward and tore into the deers flesh. Taking her sweet time in doing so, but not over doing it were she would become sick for putting all of it in her stomach at once. "Oh that is really cool that you can do that, I got nothing going for me except speed." She yawned, bloody canines showing. Closing her mouth after her yawn, "Well at least you did not fry it we would not be enjoying it now." She smiled and stepped back laying down on her side and panting, "So do you have family?" She asked sitting up and well guessing were about he was in front of her. She wished that she could see him, "Can you describe what you look like?" She asked softly.
Then she felt something cold on her nose, "Its snowing and I can tell we have a snow storm coming or already here, are there shelters around here?" It would be along walk back to the one I found. She smiled, she licked her muzzle and stood, shaking herself off. pelt twitching as the snow hit it, "I would have to say I agree with you it has been very interesting."She stretched and laid flat on her belly, listing with her good side and every once in awhile her nose would twitch as she picked up another scent other then the deer. Amori, was in the eyes of some an odd begin that should just be put out of misery but she was not suffering in fact she liked it this way better, you did not have to see the hurtful things of the world after all. She wondered if he had noticed her feline tendencies, if he had noticed she was far from his kind, she wondered if he was accepting of her kind she knew most wolves had not been long ago but now were starting to warm up to them. Amori sighed and waited.
