○○○○○○○○○○○○○○ The female Sennyo had sprinted though the thick Parran Tiaga, as the full moon descended away and dawn took it's place. Nocturne breathed heavily as she had been running all night, until she finally reached the bitter coldness of the Ivare Tundra. Her black fur whisped about, her wings frapped about and her eyes were wide.
Nocturne came to a steep stop upon the cold and windy land, her paws skidded on the snow until she stopped. She had nearly tripped, due to her missing leg. She sat down on the icy ground, panting and trying to catch her breath. Nocturne glanced around and wondered if that wolf from before had followed her. Maybe not? Time to head to my den. She thought and stood, looking around for her den somewhere in the icy cold.

This was a bad idea. The brown wolf panted his shoulders aching from the pain of prolonged flight. It was amazing what he could accomplish when he put his mind on it. The night's dark had given way to dawn's growing light just as had the forest to bare, open, frozen ground. He scowled, she just had to come this way. To close to his old nightmare for comfort.
Shakily he landed, but not without plowing into a snow bank and covering himself in a layer of snow. He shook himself out and let out a yawn. Violet eyes scanned the icy plane searching for the for the Sennyo. There! Energy returned to him and he sprang up to go to her before he hesitated. What if she did not want him there. He warred with himself internally. His need to make sure she was okay one out and he approached her cautiously.
"Uh, Nocturne?" he called out gently. In the growing light he could see her fur was ebony black with a white muzzle and slivery antenna. He had only seen a Sennyo from a distance so this was knew to him.

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○ Nocturne sighed quietly. So he did follow her. She swished her tail and, without turning her head to face him, she answered: "What?" She said it in a blank voice, but she also felt annoyed someone had gone so far just to follow her.
Did he want to ask why she paused in the middle of talking or did he want to know about her leg? Whatever it was, she'd return to her den right after it.

"What?" her voice was void of emotion and Chance flinched. This was a stupid idea. He halted a good distance away from her. Looking at his paws he hesitated. It did no good to keep her waiting. "Well it's just," he started then stopped, then started again," You didn't exactly seem well and I, well I had to make sure, I'm sorry to be a bother, but I just wouldn't feel right if I had let you go." he scuffed a paw against the icy and choked down another yawn.
"If your all good I'll go. I don't mean or want to be a pest." His soft voice trailed as he finished his babbling. This was a really, really stupid idea.

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○ "I'm fine." Nocturne answered, still not turning around. She turned her head once to glance at him, and began to walk off to her den. "See ya." She walked a few miles away from him until the scent of her den wafted to her nose.
She came to a halt and dipped her head to a spot in the icy, snowy ground. Then she stuck her paw in and began to brush the snow and ice off the entrance of her den. Nocturne poked her head in and slipped inside. Inside, it still was as bitter and cold as outside, but still a bit warmer. Nocturne hoped the other wolf wouldn't come on and start asking her more things, so she kicked up some snow to the entrance to slightly cover it.

With a sigh, Chance spread his wings to take off. He don't know what he expected. It was obvious that she did not want nor need his help. He started at a light trot, his wings beating, struggling to gain enough power. He leaped, pumping the feathered limbs frantically. He dropped back down stumbling on the ice. It was harder to fly now that he had no goal other than aimless travailing. The lack of sleep might have another thing to do with it. A gurgle rumbled within his belly and he gave another sigh. Great he was hungry too.
Chance tried to take off a few more times before finally giving up. Maybe he should go after Nocturne this seemed to be her element. Then again he would probably just annoy her and kill the little pride that he had. It's no more than he deserve for sticking his nose where it didn't belong. He glanced around the ice field only to realize he had no idea where he was. A whine built in the back of his throat as well as fear. If he didn't get out of here soon he would die. Of either starvation or hypothermia. Wandering aimlessly Chance let out a helpless howl. Either that would bring help or harm. He'd take his chances if the result was harm. Not like he had anything to loose anyway.

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○ Nocturne sighed as she curled up at the very back of her snow-covered den, with her tail covering her nose. Then a helpless howl was released from that other wolf's mouth. Great. Now what was she supposed to do with a helpless wolf crying for help? Take pity?
Just give Chance a chance.. She thought with a snort, shifting her position to a standing one. Nocturne brushed the snow off the den entrance, maybe the wolf would see it and ask to come in? It was the least she could do.

Chance's purple eyes drifted across the white as he wander aimlessly. It won't hurt if I lay down for a moment, he tried to tell himself but knew that if he stopped he'd most likely freeze to death. All he could see for miles was white as his gaze swept he area. About to try and take off again he halted mid leap. Was that hole there before? he asked himself.
No, no it wasn't he was sure of that. Though he could just be delutional. Creeping causiouily forward he sniffed the entrance. It smelled strongly of wolf. Yet the sent was slightly famillar. Was this Nocturne's den? "H-hello?" he wispered fearing that he had it wrong and praying that he didn't.

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○ Nocturne sighed deeply. He got to her den already. "What do you want?" Nocturne asked coldly, lifting her head to see him. Then, she put her head back down on her tail and said, "Lemme guess. You want a place to rest."
She was sure that was what he was going to say, well, maybe. Her deep blue eyes met his purple eyes, and drifted back to the wall.

Chance scrunched up his muzzle in distaste as Nocturne's eyes met his before heading farther into the den. "I take that as a come in," he said slipping in but staying close to the exit. He settled cautiously down wrapping his lion like tail around himself like a cat.

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○ Nocturne remained silent. Then, slowly, she began to speak. "You're lucky that I'm letting you stay here." She snorted, half-closing her eyes and blinking before closing them shut. She fell into a light doze, but she could still hear everything around her-to the whistling wind-to the breathing of Chance in her den-to her own heartbeat. ooc: I wanna add some excitement to this thread. Want me to ask someone to RP a predator here? ○○○○○○○○○○○○○○

Chance kept himself curled up tight as Nocturne spoke. He refrained from his own snort at the she-wolf's attitude and let his eyes drift closed. "Thank you," he whispered before he let himself fall into the dream land.
"Come on Chance, I'm right here. Nothing will happen to you. All you have to do is pump your wings. That's why you have them," a white gray wolf, his brother Hero, urged a one and a half year old Chance. Puppy Chance was standing on a slightly raised out crop of rock above their cave home. It was was summer and almost warm compared to most days. Unsteadily he flapped his smaller than average wings sure they would not support him. "Put strength in it," Hero corrected. Chance did. "Good now jump," Chance did without question. He struggled as he fell to get his wings to work. The wind whipped Hero away as the ground opened up to reveal a dark expanse of nothingness. Chance tried to howl for his brother to help him...
Chance woke with a start. Shivering he pulled his ruffled wings close to his body. Wind from the cave entrance whipped at his face as he glance through slitted eyes his surroundings. He remembered where he was worried that he may have woken his den mate.
ooc: Yeah that would be fine.

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○ Nocturne simply ignored it, the sound of Chance's movements in his slumber. She, also, began to fall into a dream, a memory of the past.....
This was when she was a pup. Laying in her cozy den, she waited for her parents to return from they're hunt. 'What's taking them so long?' She wailed, sitting by the entrance of the den. 'Father! Mother!' She yelled out to the open, hoping that they would hear her. Nothing. What had happened? It was already nightfall. She was starving, as she lay down pitifully with tears stinging her eyes... Then she snapped awake. Jerked her eyes open she awoke and turned around to look at Chance. Then she took a deep breath, turned back around, and tried to forget about it.
ooc: I asked someone already..let's just wait and stop for a while until they come.

The griffin was not enjoying the winter weather. Separated from her brood of griffins in the canyon, the female soared through the chilly skies, her wings beating in stride with the wind. The updrafts of air kept her aloft in the cold night air. Her body was lean from the lack of food around, and yet she still upheld her natural elegance in the air. Soft, velvetty golden feathers adorned her wings, ridged with black and white. Her lion half, though rather skinny, was a rich golden tan, and the fur, due to the season, was thick and kept her well insulated. Bright green-gray eyes shone from her skull, her sharp, powerful beak clicking a bit as she glanced downwards.
It was then that she spotted a figure in the sky. The lone wolf was small, and seemed to be a mottley of browns and whites. The female griffin almost cawed in delight, her eyes narrowing on the sole form of the wolf as he moved through the air. He was still a little ways away from her, and she pulled her wings to her body, travelling up higher to gain the advantage over the canine.
The griffin had once been the envy of all the females in the tribe that lived there. Named Serynoch, she was rivalled for her beauty, something she cherished deeply. So when the lead male began to court her, it made her swell with not only his progeny, but with pride. Unfortunately she bore him only female infants, and thus was cast into exile for the winter. She would be allowed to return the following spring, but either way, she longed for her children.
And now food was flying right at her. Just as quickly as she had gotten lost in thought, the male had descended to the ground, and she too turned her tail towards the ground. She landed with a soft thump, watching the wolf slide into a den. Clicking her beak softly in annoyance, she waited for a few moments for the movement to stop in the den before sneaking her way over. Slowly, carefully, she dipped her beak into the den, grasping the first bit of fur she could in her powerful beaks, letting out a loud, shrill caw. She could already smell two wolves in there, and hoped the other was just as weak-looking as the male. Either way, it was dinner.

○○○○○○○○○○○○○○ Nocturne gasped at the sound, scent and presence of a hunting griffin. "A griffin!" She gasped, jerking her body up and turning around. She stared at the magnificent, but deadly, griffin, coming in to have some dinner.
She thought quickly on what to do, mind racing around to find an answer. The Sennyo glanced at the wall of the den. What if she could dig though and dig her way out for Chance and her to get out of the den? Time was running out and the sharp beak of the griffin had made it's way though the den.
