The thousand songs of larks blended into a full orchestra, quiet and musing in tone. Her head tilted interrogatively as she gently as she herself began to muse. The peaceful sky’s hum coaxed her eyelids shut. Siren then echoed the imaginary tone she heard, her heavenly voice twining with the twittering of the meadow’s birdsong.
She was extremely happy. The meadow was flooded, but already had begun to sink. Four-legged, she pawed around only in the dry hills of the meadows, wanting to explore this land that she had never set eyes upon before. You see, Siren was a Cael wolf—born and raised. She spent her youth strictly in the vast ocean. Every day was a lovely adventure beneath the waves, but an adventure that seemed to merge with the one after and the one before. Water was water. She could swim in it. She could float and dash, her natural serpentine body twisted elegantly when she was beneath the waves.
However, this feeling. The solid earth beneath her feet… it filled her with a sort of uncertain harmony. She didn’t know what was to come next. And it excited her. In her mind, she recited her actions as if she lived a dream.
I, the lovely princess Siren, march quietly onward. My indigo paws—all four of them, including the hindpaws—drum upon the ground. What grace! And here, I beckon, dare, and summon everyone. Gaze upon me!
A rather egotistical smile twisted upon her face as she believed, truly and wholly that what she thought was completely true. She kept herself upon the high-land, safe from floodwaters. Though she loved the enticing chance to explore, her heart belonged to the waters. Even if she denied it, the reason she was here was because that this flooded meadow was slightly reminiscent of her home.
“I’m not going back anytime soon,” she said aloud to herself. It was more about her form, but one could take it that she wasn’t going to return to the ocean waters.

Black fur streaked through the vast meadow, feathered wings folded at her sides. The dark female trotted alone the long grass, her lavender eyes pealed ahead. Her ears twitched at the sounds of the wind blowing across the meadow land. She slowed, catching the scent of an unknown wolf. She didn't know this wolf, therefore, she would take caution.
As Raven approached the female, her ears pricked at the sound of the females voice. It was very sweet, even to her. She crouched and held her breath. Realizing her black fur would be easily spotted in the colors of the meadow, she maneuvered into the few bushes around and crept closer. She wasn't going to take any chances. She knew the dangers of being the species she was, and if they figured out she was a Myou, there could be problems.
Raven stopped. The wolf was just ahead, seemingly very happy in her surroundings. She pawed forward, relaxing when she found it was at least female, and not a hostile looking one at that. After a few moments, she backed up and stood, stepping out of the bushes.
"Hello." She spoke, her voice low as she eyed her. She couldn't quite tell her species yet. She could be a Lupus, but her odd fur pattern gave that away. Her wings twitched nervously, wanted to take flight. Ever since that day, she had been very cautious around other wolves.

The Cael wolf herself could be mistaken for a Lupus in this form. There were plenty of Lupus who shared her indigo points. Her lovely silver eyes flashed curiously over the Myou. Wings. Siren looked longingly at the lovely appendages. They looked powerful and the feathers looked extremely soft. Naïve little Siren smiled widely, in an overly friendly manner and said nothing, but her wagging tail said ‘hello.’
Here, a dark angel approaches. Her pawsteps—much lighter than mine, as if her body was weightless… I love her wings… does she love her wings? Here am I, small, little princess Siren. Does this dark creature bring chance of happiness or is she dangerous? Bleck! Danger is nothing! A damsel in distress is always saved in the end anyways!
Her thoughts ran fast through her mind and her dulcet voice wanted to question if this Raven Myou loved her wings. But Siren kept quiet. Her silvery eyes flashed curiously and the odd Cael wolf started to approach. She made sure to hop onto the dry portions of the flooded meadows, overly careful. Siren stopped. She began to rock a bit where she stood. Her body swayed front and back as she nodded her head quietly.
“Show me, please, how to fly.” Her single sentence hung in the air as her golden tones shimmered from her mouth. It was a simple please, was it not? And afterwards, the Cael wolf fell silent, though a glitter of envy shone in her eyes. Siren wished that she could fly. Oh, the journeys she could have then!

Raven narrowed her eyes to the silence. The wolf looked deep in thought, and she almost looked dazed. The black wolf shook her fur, perking her ears as she began to speak.
"Show me, please, how to fly."
A smile edged at her mouth, for this female had a wonderful imagination. "I'm afraid I can't show you have to fly." She turned her head to her feathered wings, shuffling them as she did so. "You need wings to fly." Her voice was a lot softer. Perhaps it was because that the female didn't seem to know about her, or her species.
Raven snickered and sat down, curling her fluffy tail around her paws. Her black wings folded over to her sides, adjusting slightly to get more comfortable. She looked over Siren and nodded in satisfaction. She didn't look like one to be hostile, so why not introduce herself. "My name is Raven. And yours?"

She meant for the winged wolf to merely show her how she flew. Siren wanted to watch the wind rustle between the feathers and caress them, as if they held the entire wolf with the gentleness of a nurturing touch. She wanted to believe that that was what she would see, that that was what the wolf would show. But Siren realized that she probably didn’t word what she wanted exactly the way that she should have—in order for this other wolf to understand. Siren knew that she had messed up her want-filled inquiry. Who could understand her?
You… You… You… Show me how you fly. Show me, heavenly dark angel. Please. Give me such lovely sights to study. Such curious delights to behold… My lovely self only wishes to see the things I’ve never seen and have only imagined.
And thus, the angel misunderstood. But… at least… there was… that single chance. She reached out and touched me with the brush of caring. Her voice is gentle, as if she wants to coax me from my thatched hideaway. And she bent down to my mortal level and asked me:
‘My name is Raven… what’s yours?’
Siren gave a rather shocked face, as if overly shy. She lowered her eyes and her head, letting her shoulders crowd her neck. Her teeth were clenched. And then, she calmed herself. Siren turned a lucid eye towards the female Myou. Her gentle voice rose from her throat, a single golden note. “Siren.”
She smiled widely, wagging her tail into an indigo blur. She lowered her head, pushing herself forward and whispered, as if in secret, hopefully clarifying her want, “I want to see you fly…” Her words were oddly stressed, but she always did that. After speaking, she rocked backwards afterwards, slowly, and then resumed her nervous habit.
Back and forth.

Raven listened intentivly as Siren spoke of her name. She nodded softly, her smile fading a little. "Nice to meet you Siren." She said. She stood when Siren asked to see her fly, and fluffed her feathers. "You wish to see me fly?" She echoed, grinning again. She was in a very good mood today, or she would have been much more on guard than she was at the moment. "Very well."
Raven took a few steps back, making sure that she had enough room to take off. Of course she did. She was in an open meadow! She leaned back before pushing forward and leaping into the air. With a beat of her wings, she lifted into the skies. At first, she was just gliding on the wind; hardly ever beating her wings. Though, she decided to show Siren a little bit of her skill.
She whisked across the suns light, giving her the appearance of a true angel of darkness with the golden background. Her lavender eyes shimmered in the light as she flew in the skies, the wind rushing through her fur as she happily flew. She loved to fly. It always made her feel free, and it always made her forget about reality for a moment. After a short while, she finally landed back onto the ground and brought her wings back to her sides.
"Well, how was that?" She casted a playful smile to Siren.

She herself was seated, though, as always, gently rocking back and forth. It made her look almost nervous, but the joy in her face should have dispelled that thought. Her eyes were full of childish wonder, wide silver orbs that reflected with the seemingly choreographed movement of flight she gladly watched.
And my angel then rose up into the sky. She didn’t even need to flap her wings for the air to gently hold her up. She looked delicate and strong at the same moment. I could only think of her in awe. This dark angel seemed able to break at a touch and able to break anything at a touch. I could see her going to the ground… and her pawsteps kissing the earth before it and she shattered into oblivion.
Siren stopped. That single image—of her dark angel lighting upon the ground and obliterating both herself and the earth she stood upon filled the Cael female with a sense of dread and induced a slight guardedness.
And then, Raven landed. Siren jumped back immediately, almost touching the waters around her, but luckily her paw landed on a dry piece of ground. She then gave a look of bewilderment before rocking back and forth and admitting, with a slight dazed look in her eye, “I thought the world was going to end when you landed.”
Siren crept forward, her sharp eyes inspecting the ground upon which Raven stood. “But it didn’t…” She raised her head before concluding. “It was lovely then.”

Raven's ears twitched as Siren leaped back when she landed. She thought for a split second that she had someone found out she was a Myou from her flight, but she relaxed when she didn't say anything about her species.
"T... Thank you..." She said softly, looking at the ground. She couldn't help but blush a little to Siren's praise to her flight. She must have appeared very different in the skies; flying with her magnificent black wings. She adjusted her wings for a moment as she sat back down like she had before. "So.. Siren... What kind of wolf are you? Are you a Lupus?" She asked curiously, looking over the she-wolf again. There could be a few posibilities to her species, but Raven thought it better to just ask.

"I'm a Cael wolf." She jut her chest out proudly before turning a silver eye to the waters around her. She was contemplating showing this female the same as the Myou should her how she flew, but couldn't decide if the effort was worth it. Especially because dragging herself out of the water and drying off took too much effort--since this wasn't the sunny beach where she could dry quickly.
Siren quickly decided to only show this female if Raven wanted to see her turn into her true form. The Cael wolf then sat down quietly before stating, mostly to herself, "Nope, nope, not a Lupus. I'm a Cael wolf." She turned her head up again, and then added, "The best kind."
Apparently naive to the species of wolves, Siren tilted her head, "What kind are you?" She didn't know the names for Keiyou, Myou, and Yagi, among other things. She had grown up a sheltered life.
"I know you aren't the best kind," she said quietly, warming up to Raven, as one can see by her increased confidence in speaking--namely... she was becoming more and more chatty.
Once she got over her quiet phase, it took a patient and friendly wolf to tolerate her.

Raven's eyes flashed of hate and anger for a moment, but soon grew to sorrow as they wandered to the ground. "What I... Am..." She said softly, closing her eyes. She grew up alone, being forced to tell no one what she was. Ever since those wolves destoryed her tribe, she had lived a scarred life. What would Siren do if she knew? And if so, would she tell anyone.
Her ear's lowered as she lifted her head, looking at Siren with pained eyes. "Siren.. I can't tell you what I am. If you knew.. And if someone else found out..." She gazed at the Cael wolf with worry in her eyes. Whenever it came to her species, she became very emotional for an odd reason. She shook her head, looking at the water from where Siren was standing over.
"What if she betrayed me? What if the life i've lived hidden for was all lost? Siren doesn't look like a wolf to quite know about my species, but if it slipped out to someone she did know.." She didn't want to relive her past. The feathers of her wings twitched uncomfortably, along with her ears. What would she do now?

Her reaction was completely uncalled for and surprising. She couldn't understand it unless Raven had something important to hide. In fact, if Raven had just calmly lied, Siren would not have been interested in the least bit. But this, this was something that Siren wanted to know now. She leaned forward in a kid-like brightness. "Oooh, if you're gonna be like that, you have to tell me." Her happy, joyful face showed a blissful curiosity.
Siren rocked a bit as she stood there. Her head nodded, allowing her body to have the momentum to continue rocking. Her awkward toes fidgeted between tip-toes and hare-footed. And she said, too eagerly, "Tell me what you are!" A childish laugh giggled afterward and she wagged her indigo tipped tail.
And this dark angel, she held a dark secret. And I, the lovely princess, wanted to discover what this horrible secret was. I needed to know to prove that I could know. No other reason but my own selfish gain. But, whenever secrets were involved, whoever holds them is selfish and whoever desires to know them are as well.
And so, two selfish wolves stood. Mirrored reflection. And I knew that in that moment, I was she and she was I.
Yet. I did not know the secret still.
Siren’s eyes sparkled with her need to know.
