Introduction
What’s up Wonderwhyers? We, as staff, have been trying to get the pack system to work, but the only way it can work is if there are more wolves per pack and fewer loners overall. The biggest reason that packs aren’t populated, we have decided, is that being in a pack has no added benefits. I mean, there really is no reason for your wolf to be in a pack since all the wolves in the game are able to fend for themselves, hunt enough for themselves, and they don’t have the wild-wolf urge to be part of a pack since there have been no rules otherwise. Well, the staff of Wonderwhy has decided to change the dynamic of pack-joining and forming just to get it so that packs play a larger role in your wolf’s life.
Changes for Loners
Loners are no longer the default of a newly created wolf
A newly created wolf, from now on, will have to join a pack from the get-go. So, bite the bullet and pick for your next newly created wolf. The Alpha will also rank your wolves.
Creation of Loner Bought at WW Shop
To make a loner from now on, you have to buy the rights at the WW shop. The price is going to be between 100 and 300 pp. Buying them is the same process for buying a hybrid character or a non-wolf character—you make the character’s bio before making the purchase thread and then link them to each other.
Being a Loner is a Social Stigma
Lone wolves are seen as unclean, stupid, dirty, or insane. Being a loner is the equivalent of being homeless or a hermit. When a wolf sees a loner wolf, they automatically assume that the wolf was not good enough to be in a pack and therefore is not good enough to be a wolf.
Being a Loner is HARD
Loner wolves are never in great health compared to their pack brethren. They are usually thinner, sicklier, and not as well groomed. Pack wolves are healthier, cleaner, and in better health because they keep each other well-fed, groomed, and warm. Loners also must hunt against the creature account in regards to large prey animals.
Changes for Pack Wolves
Being in a Pack and Receiving your rank only Requires an OOC form
You do not need to have your character to be accepted to apply for a place in the packs, but Alphas cannot add your wolf to the pack count UNLESS you are accepted. In other words, this is so that you can fill in the place in the basic information that asks for pack and rank. Most people will gloss over the acceptance into the pack and rank-giving things unless it is important.
Pack Wolves in a Hunt can RP the Large Creatures Themselves as Well as Predators
The Pack wolves, when they call a hunt, may choose the creature to hunt as well as whether their hunt is successful or not. The Creature account is not necessary for pack hunts because a pack of wolves will usually be successful in the hunt without special circumstances.
Wolves can leave a Pack at Anytime
You must buy the rights to leave the pack. It will be between 100 – 300 pp. However, it is free to make your wolf leave a pack due to a plot. Please link to the plot in the shop thread and staff will probably okay the leaving. Examples of leaving include: Puppies growing up, wolves losing loyalty to the pack, disasters making the pack unlivable, wolf put into exile, pack forming, etc. Be creative!
Every Pack Wolf Can Mingle With Other Pack Wolves & Loners
Now, we never had a set rule against pack wolves meeting each other, but from now on, we will make it actively known that wolves like to travel and their pack is more like an alliance with a home-base. They are free to roam and will most likely meet Loners and Other Pack wolves.
One Person Per High Rank Per Pack
This means that we don’t want you to be the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma of one pack. Share the power with other RPers. This is more of a guideline than a hard-and-set rule and it is to make it easier to RP out a pack and plot its course throughout.
Changes for Pack Formation
Pack Forming Now Costs PP
Pack forming costs 1000 pp. However, all the founders can chip in their PP for the effort. This makes it so that in order to make a pack, you have to be active in a pack, and because it cost so much to make a pack, you will be darn sure to keep that pack active so that you do not waste your money.
Every Pack Formation Default with Neutral Relations to All Packs
Packs will now have relationships with other packs. This will be expressed as a simple extra thread in which you list the relationship that the pack has with the other packs. We will provide a form to keep track of this.
Changes Overall
Loner or Pack Wolf Status Plays a Part in Pup Health
Loner wolves will have less healthy pups. They have higher incidence of stillborn puppies and deformities due to lack of nutrition and care during gestation. Pack wolves typically have healthier litters.
Every Loner Made Before the Rule Change gets +200pp for Joining a Pack
That’s right. If you join a pack with your loner who sits around and does nothing packy right now, then you get 200pp right here.
