It was a hot July day in the Salnero Jungle. The tops of the tree's provided shade from the sun.
Rei did not normally enter this place, but she thought she was in need of a change of location and pace for awhile. Rei was a Keiyou, so she spent a lot of her time flying around the Yvit Cove and the mountains. But it felt nice to relax under the canopies once in awhile. Besides, a little adventure wouldn't her.
She navigates the tops of the trees and landed on the ground. She stretched out her large eagle-like wings behind her, before they folded and settled against her back. She then began to walk with a slow pace across the forest floor.
She wondered just what she would find down here.

Fireann Spiorad crashed through the trees, plowing forward with a determination strong enough to match his nickname, Fire. Behind him, smooth and quite, trailed his daemon, the silky white tiger, Scathe Lasair.
The pair had entered the jungle on another one of Fire's wild whims. They were supposed to be heading north, towards home, but had taken a swerve in the complete opposite direction, and had ended up here. Now, with Fireann plowing forward with little regard for his surroundings, it looked like it was going to be a very long trip.
Not that it mattered much. A little adventure never hurt anyone. At the very least, that was Fire's opinion. Lasair looked around the dense jungle, the wide leaves, the bright butterflies... it was too green for him to blend easily, and there were too many large plants, things that could hide creatures that might harm his companion, too many situations he couldn't help with. However, he knew his words of warning would fall upon dead ears, and could do nothing more than follow behind.
"Oy! Lasair! Hurry it up!" came Fire's voice. Lasiar bounded forward, trying to keep up with his lupine friend. It wasn't that he couldn't, for he was completely capable of doing so, just... not for very long. His breath was coming out in short gasps. Although tigers tend to be jungle creatures, this daemon was made for the snow.
"On (huff, huff) my way (puff, huff)!" he called, skidding to an ungainly halt. Fire had stopped just behind a large leaf, and had pulled it aside with one paw. Beyond the leaf, he had a clear look at a Keiyou who seemed to be taking a stroll through the jungle.
"Take a look 'ere, mate," he whispered, "Is that a girl, or is that a girl?" he whistled through his teeth, "Looks a bit like Delilah, eh?" he was referring to one of his sisters, who's daemon had been an annoying vulture, dead set on pecking the eyes from everyone around him.
"She does seem to have a Delilesque air about her," Lasair agreed, "Perhaps-" the daemon halted. Fire had already pushed through the leaf and was approaching the Keiyou with a jaunty wave of his tail.
"'Allo!" he called, "Fancy meetin' someone else 'ere? I thought me an' my travelin' buddy were the only one's dumb enough t'try it!" his eyes glittered with a mischievous light, and he looked over his shoulder to the place where Lasair still hid, "'E's a bit shy, but 'e'll probably warm up to ya in a bit. Oh! I forgot t'introduce meself." He swept an elegant lupine bow, his front half lowered, while his tail was raised and waving like a fine knight's flag, "The name's Fireann Spiorad! Pleased t'meecha, miss!"
He stood back up, and, without bothering to listen if the lady gave her name, plowed forward with the conversation.
"So! What'd bring a lovely lady like yerself t'these vicious jungles, eh?"

Rei had just been walking along when the strangers approached her.
"'Allo! Fancy meetin' someone else 'ere? I thought me an' my travelin' buddy were the only one's dumb enough t'try it. E's a bit shy, but 'e'll probably warm up to ya in a bit."
His sudden approach had caught her off guard, and she stepped back as she turned to look at him more fully. Her eyes shifted up at surprise. It had been quiet a moment ago, so sudden speech had been unexpected.
His expression seem a little mischievous, which surprised the Keiyou even more. She looked over at the white tiger following him. It was a little strange, but Rei had heard of a species of wolf that had daemons. Could this white tiger possibly be one?
"Oh! I forgot t'introduce meself. The name's Fireann Spiorad! Pleased t'meecha, miss! So! What'd bring a lovely lady like yerself t'these vicious jungles, eh?"
She looked at the wolf who gave a bow, introducing himself, before asking her what she was doing here. Not even asking whom she was.
"I-I'm just traveling," she answered. "I don't usually enter forests, but it is a nice change of pace and the trees provide a bit of shelter from the hot sun," she added as she glanced upwards.
She looked at him, again.
"My name is Rei," she said, finally. She was still a little nervous about the sudden meeting, but she was generally always a little bit cautious at first meetings anyway, especially ones not initiated by her.
