Isabella slithered into the Lookout Clearing, wondering what to do. She was bored. Being beyond bored. She looked up at the early morning sun and decided it'd be a good time for breakfast. But what to eat? She looked around and noticed a brightly colored bird in the trees. Synesinger. Bingo.
She crept silently to the edge of the tree, then made her way up until she was at the branch level of the bird. Only then did she notice what she'd stumbled onto... a nest site. There was one bird sentry at present- the others must be out. There were about three nests. Two of them had young chicks in them, very young, and another had unhatched eggs. The single adult was sitting on the eggs.
Isabella licked her lips before thinking. Score! She silently slithered towards the Synesinger, coming up behind it. At the last second, it turned and looked at her. She hissed in frustration and lunged at it, sinking her fangs into it and injecting toxic venom. The Synesinger panicked a bit before trying to fly... right into a branch. It hit the branch and then fell to the ground, where it flapped uselessly for a few more minutes until it died.
The Black Mamba Myou licked her lips again. Ooh, it would be tasty!

Dancing (for his trot was so fluid it was more like a dance) up the path to the Lookout, Kid hummed happily to himself. His goal for the day was to explore the territory. Since the early bird got the worm, he had made a point to rise at the crack of dawn and slip away relatively unnoticed. While he hadn't really met much of the pack aside from Flynn, he wasn't quite ready to start his introductions. First he wanted to be familiar with his surroundings. Prey was much easier to hunt when he knew the lay of the land. Pack mates or not, no wolf was exempt from the possibility of becoming prey.
Only when he broke free of the thicker trees did give pause to his happy walk. His head shifted left to right, green eyes taking in the beautiful view. It hadn't been what he was expecting. The grin widening on his maw, he began dancing forward again. Clearly he'd made a good choice in joining the Mafia. Despite the jungle's humidity, it had a lot of rare, hidden gems like this clearing, making it absolutely spectacular. The Sennyo had always been an appreciator of art, and Nature was the greatest artist of them all.
Kid would have walked further into the clearing, exploring every little nook and cranny he could find, if something had not decided to suddenly fall to his paws. Confused by the light thud of the feathered body, he looked up briefly before turning to stare at the corpse of the Synesinger. The transparent wings upon his back fluttered lightly as he pondered over the strange event. When he could draw no solid conclusion, he voiced his thoughts aloud, wondering if the culprit was still afoot. "How odd. I thought birds typically flew up..." Nudging the carcass slightly with his nose, he sniffed it once before waiting for its owner to show itself. Thankfully, he wasn't yet hungry. And even if he had been, bird was not one of his particular favorites.

Isabella smirked as a Sennyo walked up, only to be surprised by the Synesinger suddenly falling at his paws. Ooh, this was fun. She didn't want to have to climb all the way back up the tree, so she quickly took stock of the situation. She looked down again. "It's mine. I suggest not consuming it... I used a rather... deadly method to kill it." She simply just tipped the baby birds out of their nests, before just ripping the nest full of eggs from the branch and holding it in her teeth as she climbed down the tree.
Most of the babies had died from impact, but one was still struggling on the ground. She ignored it... it couldn't go far. And she set the eggs next to her feet. "Greetings. I suppose you are one of the Mafia?" She asked this with high hopes. So far lots of the Clan members had been trespassing. It was so damn annoying. But if he was Clan... she'd rip him apart and devour him. That pack pf pansies didn't even know how to fight. It would be far too easy. She really didn't think he was Clan though- she could tell by scent. Though how a Sennyo got into the Mafia she'd never know. They are so frail... She thought it might be fun to rip his wings off if he were an enemy.
She flicked her forked tongue at him, taking in his scent. He seemed healthy enough. Well, if he was a Sennyo that'd made his way into the Mafia, it only proved that he had some sort of deadly quality about him. She wouldn't let her guard down.

A feminine voice directed his gaze back towards the tree. While he still could not pinpoint it's source, several more little bundles of falling feathers joined the big bird on the ground. Following their plight, he blinked twice before returning his gaze to the branches above. Fixating on the general direction of leafy movement, he called up with a slight smile. "Fear not, m'dear. I'm afraid I'm not very fond of feathers."
As a curious form slowly made its way out of the tree, Kid took a step backwards to give her some space. He could only guess that she was a Myou of some sort, most likely of the reptile variety. She was certainly strange looking. Then again, he wasn't exactly a normal sight himself with transparent wings, two thin antennae, and bright yellow body accented in red. It was a stark contrast to her much darker browns.
Kid then proceeded to give his standard greeting, one paw lifting as he gave a deep, gallant bow. "At your service, dahlin'," he replied with a wink, returning to his full height. His wispy tail danced on the breeze, good mood not deterred by the interruption to his exploration. "You may call me Kid. It is a pleasure to meet you, though I do hope I've not interrupted you meal." Unable to stay completely still, his paws danced beneath him as he continuously shifted his weight. He wasn't quite sure what to expect just yet. First encounters were always so hard to judge.

Isabella watched him carefully and evaluated his reactions with her keen eyes. Oh yes, she decided that this Sennyo was more then he seemed just from the way he spoke. It seemed... different. She didn't know if that was a dangerous thing or not yet.
The female Myou flicked her tongue. "Isabella." It was her name, after all, and she looked down at the dead bodies of her victims. "You interrupted nothing. If anything, you created a good distraction for this adult here." She'd noticed how the bird had been unusually unattentative in her direction until the last moment. It must have heard the Sennyo coming.
She decided now was as good as any to start, so she picked up one of the eggs and cracked it open with her inner teeth before downing it one swallow. Half-snake bodies did help tremendously sometimes. Isabella licked her lips delightedly. "So, how did a Sennyo get into the Mafia?" Her question wasn't just mere curiosity. She wanted to know what kind of wolf this was... she could gouge that by talking to him more. Wondering what kind of future comrade he would be... or if he would be a threat.

"The lady Isabellla," he drawled, testing out her name. A slight nod of his head indicated he accepted her thanks, even if it was less of a thank you and more of a statement. His intention hadn't been to help her at all. His manners were one of the few things he'd kept, though, so polite was what he most often was.
Sitting back on his haunches, the Sennyo watched curiously as she dug into her meal. Eggs seemed like such a strange choice in food to him. Of course, he wasn't exactly equipped with the hardware to eat them. His own favorite meal wasn't exactly normal as well. Canine flesh was an acquired taste, and one that he was addicted to.
At her question Kid shrugged his shoulders slightly. It was an elegant motion, his posture pristine as he kept his eyes curiously on the way she ate. He was having a hard time placing the nature of her second soul. "I suppose the same way you did, dahlin'. It is surprisingly easy to impress Master Flynn. Wasn't even much of a challenge. I must say, I was a bit disappointed actually. You would have made a finer lunch."
A sharp nod of his head accented his point as he looked the female over. She would have certainly been more of a challenge than that tired old hermit. She at least was physically fit, and she'd already admitted to hiding poison. It hadn't been hard for him to guess that that was her deadly method. He knew of a good deal of poisonous reptiles, and that would explain the unusual death of the unfortunate Synesinger.
Almost as an afterthought, he tacked on a, "Why do you ask?"

Isabella smirked. Ooh, this was good. His explanations were polite, yet a bit creepy sounding... especially that part of how she would have made a finder lunch. She hoped Flynn explained to him that eating packmates was forbidden. Not that he could really bring her down... She was a cannibal too, and if he tried to take her on, she'd easily take him out and devour him.
But, there was another part. "Ah, I don't really believe my sister and I impressed Flynn when we joined. In fact, I'm sure he's still not too fond of us." Ah, yes. She still thought he would've made a nice snack. But anyway, thing were taking another turn again. She quickly grasped another body of a chick in her teeth and swallowed it whole, moving on to the next. Soon, there was only the half-dead chick left. She eyed it cruelly. But before she could act on it, Kid asked her another question.
She shrugged. "Ah, no reason. Just plain curiosity." Best to just play dumb for now.

The male's head tilted slightly to one side, green eyes blinking as he took in her words. The urge to circle her was strong. He wanted to know exactly what it was about her that that little shrew was not fond of. He also wanted to move in general, not enjoying sitting still. Kid knew better though. Now was not the time for such games. The female, Isabella, was in the middle of her meal. Food always complicated matters. Any action he made could be perceived as a threat even if he'd already stated that Synesingers were not his meat of choice. He would need to bide his time until she'd finished.
To distract himself until he thought it safe enough to slink closer, the Sennyo furthered the conversation. A half smile was on his lips, voice sweet and charming as he released a slight chuckle. "Ah, m'dear, I'm afraid curiosity is nothing more than a feeble lie used to scapegoat true motive. If there is not something specific you want to know, you wouldn't have bothered asking in the first place. So tell me, what makes a Sennyo so special to the Mafia? Surely these wings make me no more special than your reptilian other half."
To accent his point, the male rose to his paws and shifted slightly so that she could view his profile. The transparent wings fluttered rapidly for a moment as he showed them off. Kid was quite proud of his appearance, though not to the point of narcissism. He just liked the way his vivid colors and strange wings were often easily used as an ice breaker. It was much easier to charm others when they already enamored with what their eyes could plainly see.

Isabella watched with curiosity as he overturned her lie and stood to show off his appearance. Ooh, this one's a pretty one... She thought. Her interest in him grew.
"Yes, you are very special. It's just that Sennyo are not normally the wolves you think of as dangerous." She said mater-o-factly. "But, I guess in your case, that makes the average wolf all the more unsuspecting."
She killed the last chick by stepping on it, and then she ate it. The last thing to eat would be the adult. She wondered how quickly she could eat it... She wanted to talk more to this Sennyo. It seems she could benefit from him. Isabella lashed her long tail before plucking a few feathers from the dead adult and whipping them at the Sennyo, wondering how fast he could react to the sudden assault.

He had to chuckle. Kid truly was an anomaly when it came to his species. Then again, he was also rather jaded. Life had been cruel to him. In turn, it had turned him rather cruel. When one lived as long as a Sennyo it was hard to not gain a vast amount of knowledge concerning a number of subjects. The ones he just happened to study most frequently were those of life and death. The list of things he didn't know was actually more impressive than what he did.
"There are many types of dangerous," he spoke, mischief dancing in his emerald eyes. "It's quite amazing how many others tend to forget such a simple fact. Sting the right creature and a little bee can be just as deadly as the mighty dragon. Danger, m'dear, is relative." He chuckled again, tongue parting his lips briefly to moisten them. Then it was time for another question. "Why do you not count yourself as average?"
The Sennyo's brow rose slightly, his form not wincing as she snuffed the life of the little bird. He seemed to watch her with keen interest, this Isabella. She was certainly as odd as her appearance. He didn't quite know what to think of her just yet. But as she tossed feathers at him, he had to blink. It was such a childish thing to do. A strong snort of his nose blew a few away while the others tickled at his face and chest. Then he blinked a second time, head tilting curiously to one side. "Feathers, dahlin', are rarely dangerous.

Ah, it appeared he did not care what happened with the feathers. Her test to try and gouge his speed and evasiveness had failed. Crap. She thought. And now, on top of that, she looked like an idiot. "Very true." She mulled it over, trying to find something else to say. "But, in this pack, expect anything." Okay, that sounded good enough. It was also true enough. The characters that seemed to show up here were more then a bit odd. Seriously, she just had to look at her own reflection.
Isabella sat back down, flicking her tongue out some. She was becoming a bit bored. She decided to make some more small talk. "So, you don't like birds. Suppose that's natural for a Sennyo." She stated, taking a glance to the side. What now? She was just more bored.

Kid had began to prance again, unable to sit still. As he turned slow circles around the eating female, he couldn't help but chuckle. Not only had she ignored his question, her advice was also hardly needed. She'd basically reiterated the number rule of the his own, personal moral code.
"Dahlin, I always expect the unexpected." To reinforce his point, he'd waited until he was behind her to approach. Then he'd pulled up right along side her, muzzle finding her ear as he'd whispered the words softly into it. For good measure he gave the offended appendage a friendly lick. Then he danced away as quickly as he'd come, halting himself in front of her.
His next statement only furthered his little game on top of addressing her last statement. "I must say, you taste much better than a mouth full of feathers." The playful wink that accompanied it did little to show his seriousness. Of course, Kid wasn't exactly flirting. This playful, invasive, flirty behavior was actually the norm for him. He was always charming with that hinted edge of of downright uncomfortable.

Isabella listened to him talk and watched as his pranced around the clearing. Suddenly, he darted in and licked her ear. She immediately snarled and leaped backwards, baring her teeth at him. Then he had the audacity to stop in front of her.
She glared at him as he said she tasted good. Suppose it's to be expected from cannibals. She knew this for a fact because she was one. She rolled her eyes, deciding that killing him wouldn't be the best career move on her part. Isabella flicked her tongue, before deciding walking away for now would be best.
"Well, I do believe I have to go. My sister should be waiting for me." Yes, that sounded like a good excuse. She dipped her head Kid politely, about a quarter of a millimeter- she wasn't the polite type. And she turned her head towards the trees, wondering if he'd offer a goodbye as well.

The reaction of the female pleased him greatly. She'd gotten so defensive and avoidant. The way she growled and glared at him... A charming, cheeky smile curved it ways up Kid's maw. And then she'd turned and walked away. He hadn't been ready for the game to end. His own brow furrowed slightly, head tilting to one side as he watched her walk off. A soft, "Farewell, m'lady," carried after her on the wind. Now that he was alone, he was at a loss for what to do. Having no one to play with was dull and boring, and after their little conversation he didn't quite want to go back to explore. Turning around himself, Kid elegantly danced away from the clearing, deciding to see if anyone else was around for him to play with.
end thread.
