Felicity padded slowly into the water, it's mushy depths sloshing at her fur, hiding her unique markings almost immediately. Her tipped tail swished from side to side slowly as she scanned the terrain, or lack there of. Her lilac eyes took in the fallen trees, and her ears swiveled on her head as she listened to the frogs croak, and the crickets chirp. Lici sloshed further into the marsh, her new home, the place that housed the Quesse Anar Clan, of which she was now apart of. The female Lupus couldn't really believe she had just been accepted into the pack yesterday, and now she was out exploring her new home, she had yet to meet anyone. And this made her sad, for Felicity was a very social being, her tail swished some more, arching over her back and tickling her spine with its plumage as she sloshed through the waters.

Spice Amber eyes darted back and forth between the root he was on and the one he wanted to be on then to the brownish green water separating them. A fluffy golden tail flicked anxiously. Spice looked back the way he came, trying to find a better way to get where he was going but saw none. The water had swelled so much that it came up around his neck. It didn't bother the others but they all had wings and were twice his side.
He grumbled irritably, cursing the fact that it had been his idea to live here completely out of his element. He couldn't even swim! It was about time he learned. He stuck one tentative golden paw into the water but immediately yanked it out. Maybe now wasn't the time to learn to swim. Large ears folded back in determination. He would make it to the other side!
Small hind legs, not made for jumping, bunched. He readied himself wiggling his rump a bit then leaped. But he fell short of his destination and went head first into the mucky water. For a moment he floundered. Scrabbling to get his head above water and his feet on the ground. Just barely did his nose protrude. He made and effort to kick himself forward until he could find dry ground. Making his way over to the root he clambered out soggy and in a much worse mood than when he had started out. It seemed he got that swimming lesson after all. He just really hoped no one saw that.

Lici's huge eyes danced with laughter as she watched the golden wolf fall into the dark mucky water below and flail about. She backed a little out of the water so that he couldn't see her laughing at him, and composed herself as best as she could. "Hello there?" she called out, her voice lifting over the water and reaching out to his audits to catch. She set a big smile on her maw as her head tilted to the side in curiosity. "I'm Felicity, and new, who are you?" she asked him quietly hoping he didn't think her rude, she shuffled her paws under the murky brown water, churning it around her tummy, glad for once that her color was so dark as it clung to her fur with fever. It would take hours to groom all of it out, if she could even find a place dry enough to do it, and not have to get right back into the nastiness making it a wasted effort.

Spice Spice nearly jumped out of his out of his skin. Heart pounding he rounded on the muck covered lupus only to slip in the water dripping off of him. He caught himself before he plunged back into the water. Righting himself he gave his chest a couple of licks then doubled back as the nasty taste hit his tongue.
Regaining his composer he faced the Felicity a little calmer. He remembered hearing that someone new had joined the clan. Actually several someones. But he hadn't had the time, or desire, to meet them. He knew he would run into them eventually.
"Um, Spice," He said some what gruffly. He eyed her and sighed. With a flick of his tail he continued," I'm in charge of teaching the pups. And Rayne, though she doesn't much need me to teach her anymore." He instantly felt silly for bringing up Rayne. He wasn't sure that Felicity would even know who she was.

Felicity saw that she startled the male and apologized quietly "I didn't mean to frighten you, sorry," she blinked rapidly trying to clear her eyes of the little tears that made their way up at her failure. Why can't you do anything right? Why are you so stupid?! she shook her head trying to clear her thoughts and focus on what she was doing.
"It's lovely to meet you Spice." she nodded her head vigorously up and down to put emphasis on this statement. She wanted to make friends here, even if it killed her.
"Rayne... isn't she the head hunter?" Lici cocked her head to the side as she asked the question. She tried to put the face to name, but couldn't seem to remember.

Spice Spice started to wash off the water off his foreleg, ignoring the taste, so that he had more time to answer her question. He knew the answer he just wanted to have time to word it well, without snapping. It wasn't her fault he was always irritable. "Yes she's head hunter. Turns out she's just as good at hunting as she is at asking questions. You a hunter?"
'That's good,' the golden wolf thought, 'Ask a question. Seem sociable.' Spice liked the thought that he was getting better at interacting with other. They even seemed to be getting used to his naturally hostile attitude.

Lici watched him lick the muck off his golden fur and thought about doing so herself, but decided against it when she saw the grimance of disgust on his face. Her ears went back at his tone of voice, automatically assuming he was mad at her, See, you can't get along with anyone, you do everything wrong. her mind told her, And she couldn't do anything right, she almost ran away right then and there.
Why did nothing go right, she sloshed to some shallower water, just barely over her paws and sat in it, not caring about the muck anymore, but suddenly to dizzy to stand. "Yeah, you could say that," she said as politley as she could, and lifted a paw to her face to examine it. Why couldn't she do anything right?

Spice Now Spice felt awkward. Lici seemed dejected by his done. Spice didn't do well with dejected. He looked around trying to figure out what to do. He taught about the world and the species, not how to be social or cheering others up.
"Uh, how bout you show me. Your could be just as good as Rayne," He promised himself that he would never say that in front of his petite friend. Spice repositioned himself so that he could clean his other leg. Amber eyes trained on Felicity trying to seem supportive.

Felicity looked through her lashes at the male, trying to figure out his tone, then stood silently and smiled a little and blinked her big eyes at him, trying to look intelligent for once. "Oh I don't think that could be true. She is head hunter!" she said respectfully. "I could...If you want." she said, even though he had said he wanted to see her hunt. She could never be sure enough. She didn't want to embarrass herself either. It's not like she was actually good at anything. She just liked to be useful, and to run.
Lici could run for hours if she wanted. And she could go fast. She liked to run, and think, sometimes it made her feel happy, others it made her think about things closer, and comfort herself since no one else ever seemed to. Spice's hostility was something she was used to, and she wasn't sure why she was acting like she was. Lici chalked it up to him being the first pack mate she had met, and already he was not liking her. She blinked again, after realizing her eyes were burning because she stared at him for so long.
She probably had freaked him out. Why can't you do anything right?

Spice Spices ears flickered as the lupus started at him. He felt like she might be expecting something more from him. He had given up on his fur moments ago and began to claw the root. This wolf was boggling him. She went from friendly and outgoing to shy and reserved. It made it hard for him to react. Maybe he had offended her. He was just starting to get used to being mindful of other's feelings. Finally he pulled his thoughts together.
"Well I could hunt with you. Most prey is to big for me so we could share," he thought that was a fair offer. He knew some thought he was sensitive about his height but he was actually quite proud of who he was. Him struggling where other wolves didn't made him feel that much stronger when he over came the hardships. Though he ad made himself comfortable munching of berries and insects he didn't mind fresh kill every once and a while.

Lici took a deep breath, as to calm herself and forced herself to look away. She noticed he was clawing at a root, something she might choose to do in different circumstances. She watched him out of the corner of her eye for a while as he seemed to be gathering his thoughts. "Sure, that sounds nice, and maybe we could catch something for the pack as well, since that is my job now." Her brown head nodded and her extra tuft of hair flapped up and down with the motion. Felicity thought this might be fun, and maybe she could catch something nice for the pack. She had heard that the alphess was pregnant and maybe she needed some extra food. "Where would you like to hunt?"

Spice Spice scanned their surroundings for a clear path to travel. Maybe there was a strip of actual land he could try hunting on. There was no way the small Myou would admit he had never caught anything bigger than a lizard in his life. He really hoped he would not have to get wet again. He heaved a sigh.
"Uh... I wouldn't know where to hunt. I'm sure you would know better than me," he ran his paws over the groves his claws had made. It crossed his mind that the groves were impractical but concluded that next time he came this way his goal would be able to reach this root without falling in the murk below.

The female looked around too, her ears swiveled to and fro to listen for any rustling that wasn't being made by the Myou male, her large eyes let in so much more light than normal wolves did, and they too looked from side to side. She tried to find some dry land, as she figured that the golden colored male wouldn't want to get dirty again, since he had just gotten himself clean. Her eyes brightened as she saw a patch of dry land just to their left, but it would be a big jump to make for such a small wolf as Spice was, she would have no problem, her hind legs were powerful from all the running, but she chewed her lip in worry over Spice.
There's a peice of dry land just over there, but in order not to get wet and nasty again, you would have to jump, want to go?"She didn't ask him if he thought he could make it, as that would be talking down to the small male, and Lici knew what it felt like to be talked down to, and to feel inferior too all others. She bunched her muscles to make the leap and took off into the air, splattering mud in her wake, as she had not cleaned herself off. Not that it made any difference she was about the same color as the nastiness...
