Shadows danced upon the meadow floor as a being of peace though power flew above. Wings large enough to cast shadow beneath him outstretched to their full length. The feathers mimicking that of a raven, though the being was anything but bird like. Dipping down low, the silver tips of his wings skimming across the top of the river water in it’s deepest parts. The crisp water felt good as it ran down the feather’s length, pooling at the base. As he twist and turned from side to side, the water would run across his back, cooling him off nicely beneath the pelting sunlight.
His pelt color was anything but a cool color. With the mix of blacks and greys, it was hard to stay cool while flying directly under the hot sunlight. Eyes of piercing yellow, much to mimic a raven’s, scanned the terrain below him. He hadn’t seen anyone in his flight, but that didn’t mean that they weren’t there. His previous encounter with another wolf was less than pleasant but he was hopeful things would change. He had always managed to find those who didn’t have the greatest personalities. He had a knack of falling into the grips of those of evil and heartlessness. Call it a haunting of his past.
He sighed, coming in for a landing near the edge of the water. He could use a refreshing drink and a dip in it’s depths. His wings hung lazily at his sides, coming towards the water’s edge. He peered down at himself, his golden ravenous eyes peering back at him. He resembled much of his father, or at least as far as he could remember. His father had been gray in color, his mother black which is where he had received the strange mixing of colors. His raven infused soul gave him the fierceness of his golden eyes and the span of his large wings. Kadin, his other self usually stayed hidden deep down. He allowed the wolf form to flow freely, though in times of great need did only Kadin fully come out and show himself.
“Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before..” He spoke to himself. His voice soft as the wind though deep as thunder. He lowered his massive head, lapping at the cool liquid once, twice, three times.
Removing his gaze from himself, he stepped into the running waters. It rushed over his limbs, coming close to his chest at the deepest part. Half of his wings were submerged, the current running a long the feathers. Moving to a slightly shallower section, he laid his massive body down upon the smooth rocks beneath him. He was at peace in the cool water though felt the best high above the rest of the world. This was deeply needed, as was the need to eat and drink.
His previous encounter had left him stressed and slightly irritable. The water washed that away, every bad feeling was taken from him in an instant. He was calm, cool and collected. Finally at peace once again.
