General Name: Tawny Alias: Tawn, but only by those she truly loves enough to allow the name to be used. Goldie, but only by the old pack she lived with when they taunted her for her scales. Species: Cael Gender: Female Age: 4 years Pack: Traveling Cael Circus Rank: Organizer
Physical Height: 40 inches Weight: 45lbs without her tail and 65 lbs with her tail. Appearance: She is a tall, slender female in her lupine form. She is generally thing, but does show some mass. Her legs are thin and they appear as though they could be broken so easily, but they are much stronger than they seem. Swimming and running through the sands of Okoe Beach as training with the Cael Circus has done that for her. In this form, her ears are a tad on the large size, as well as her tail. It is very bushy a massive, something she often uses as a pillow or as something to wipe away her tracks. It's generally only used in dirt and sand, something that's easy to erase her tracks within. All in all, this form of hers appears extremely feminine, almost delicate and weak. She can be surprising when she reveals the hidden strength she holds behind this gentle frame.
Her fur is not soft, at least when first feeling it. It is sort of rough, having a tougher texture to it than one would initially think a female's fur would have. It closely resembles a low grade piece if sandpaper, soft if you stroke it long enough and grow used to how it feels. The length is different than most Cael, stretching out over two or three inches and curling slightly on the ends. The shade of her coat is a pale brown, the shade of dirt when it is dry. Along her spine and ears are patches of the same shade, but darker, as though water had been added to dirt to create mud. On her ears and all four paws there is a beautiful shade of blue-green outlined with a shimmering gold. There is the same spot on her the tip of her tail, which often makes her look like a Lupus.
Her eyes are metallic as all Cael's are, but they have a slightly different effect than others'. The base is a shining silver color, like that of a polished coin. It is a very light shade on the outer edges of her irises, which a ring of ebony surrounds it, and it darkens like a shadow as it nears the pupil of her eyes. Littering themselves all across the iris are flecks of copper and flecks of gold, glinting excessively every single time the light catches her eyes. While her eyelashes are not that thick, the heavy black ring that outlines her irises adds definition to the colors within it. The brown of her fur brings out the copper flecks and the gold that gently paints the area around her eyes (the eyelids) shows off the golden flecks.
Now, onto one of the most important parts of the Cael: the tail. Her tail is long and thick, adding quite a bit of weight to her body. The scales are of an awkward color, at least to that of the pack she had formerly lived within. They are a glittering gold in hue, seeming to shimmer as though miniscule diamonds have been implanted within them. It is very beautiful when just about any light hits it. About an inch from where her scales blend with her fur, a small ivory spike sticks out. A few inches apart these spikes continue, getting much larger in the center and becoming small once more at the end, about a centimeter or two from where the fin of her tail begins. Attaching these spikes together is a thin veil of skin that is colored a pretty blue-green. These spikes seem to be a part of her spine, the vertebrae extended out and through her skin.
Her fin has five thin pieces of her body, the center one splitting the fin in half and is the longest. The skin that makes up the rest of the tail is blue-green, and is tattered on the edges as though it has been ripped slightly. It flows a little longer than the five pieces that split it do. Also, a few inches from where the fur transitions into skin are two wings that are a good two feet long. Three thin branches of her body dissect the fin that makes up the wings. The coloration of the fin is blue-green as well, tapering a little longer than the pieces that split it too. It is tattered along the edges just as the tail is, giving a slight theme to the fins that she beholds.

Mental Strengths: . . . . . .Swimming- Tawny is an excellent swimmer, which makes her muscles trained well and causes them to be strong. She can swim very fast, outrace anyone who dares try to be faster than her in the water. Because of how often she swims, her tail is strong and serves as a valuable weapon to her. . . . . . .Singing- Tawny's voice, much like any other Cael, is stunningly beautiful. Because of this, she can stop her enemies from what they are doing and cause them to sit there and listen to her sing. This allows for her comrades to take advantage of the wolves who have stopped to listen. . . . . . .Loyalty- Tawny gives her full attention to what she lives for, meaning serving her pack. She would never sway from the orders and duties she has been given, even if it meant costing her own life; though, nothing the Cael does is ever too dangerous. She does whatever her pack leader wants her to do and doesn't question it. . . . . . .Open Minded- Unlike any other wolves of her species she knows, Tawny is extremely open to different ideas and willing to think and talking situations over, rather than attempting to kill another if she wanted to get her way. She is smart as well, often suggesting her own ideas as well as listening to those of the ones around her. Weaknesses: . . . . . .Land- Tawny was not built for land and often has a difficult time getting around on it. She much more prefers the water over the land, but will do what she must if it involves land, even though it may cause her pain. She isn't very coordinated on land, either, and sometimes cannot reach places others can. . . . . . .Camouflage- Because of her bright scale color, Tawny doesn't blend well in the water. The gold colors stick out against the dull browns and grays of the lake and ocean floors, especially against the pale browns of swamps. This often gives her away to enemies and those trying to find her. . . . . . .Temper- Tawny has a small temper when others pester her too much. She snaps at other wolves, even comrades, when she's angry or irritated. Although, she would never snap at anyone higher in rank than her, knowing it could get her hurt or in trouble. When attempting to explain something to those younger than her, she manages to keep her temper in check. . . . . . .Stage-fright: Tawny does not show this often, but she does not like to perform or speak in front of massive groups (or even a group of more than two wolves). She does not really know why and she doesn't even believe that it is a fear of rejection. Performing in front of others is something she does not like. . . . . . .Failure: She hates this just about as much as she fears it. She is a perfectionist and loves to get everything done right and well. She feels horrid and wants to crawl into a hole for an unspecified amount of time if she thinks she fails. It is difficult to convince her otherwise when she has this mindset.
Personality: Tawny is very level-headed and calm most days. She can be somewhat withdrawn, even. Over time she had come to learn that her opinion did not mean much when it came to those who made so much fun of her, but even now she has an opinion that she is often willing to share whenever she feels the need to share it. She is extremely loyal to her friends, the ones she loves and trusts with her life. She would never betray those she knows will be with her always, like her dear friend Nelio. She loves him like a brother and would never leave his side. She could not say the same thing for her blood-sister, Jade. She had vanished and gone without warning multiple times. Her trust is shattered to a rather massive extent, and there are very few she will allow to walk on the broken glass.
Despite her generally normal side, she does have her bad side as well. She can be very snappy with others, even her comrades, but this usually only takes place when she is constantly pestered, directly or indirectly. Directly when she is literally being bothered by someone or something. Indirectly when there is something that someone does that just bothers her, usually something she does not like. This can initiate her temper, which can rage to a rather nasty extent. Her fear of failure could possibly have a lot to do with her stage fright. Though she isn't entirely sure what causes her fear of speaking or performing in front of groups with more than two people whom she does not know. In the back of her mind, she does know that her fear of failure and her abuse by others in the past is a cause of the stage fright. Her trust has been shattered to strangers beyond repair, and there are very few she allows to walk on that broken glass. Nelio is possibly the only one she really trusts. She has her doubts about Crow, Dreamith, and even Tortoiseshell. She has lost all faith in Jade, her own sister.
History: Tawny was born to her two Cael parents, Maria and Jakobi, along with her darling sister, Jade. Both of the young females were named for the coloration of their scales. Tawny for her golden ones and Jade for her green ones. Her parents' fur was grey, her mother's a lighter shade and her father's a darker shade. Both of them hailed blue-green scales, and at least her sister gained a color of those scales. Due to a slightly recessive gene within her body, her coloration seemed to reverse that of her family's. Even her sister's white fur matched better to her parents than her brown fur did. This would be the start of her torment that would ensue her in the future.
The family was antisocial to practically any wolf that came their way, especially the land dwelling wolves. Something within her parents past, something she never learned herself, that caused them to act and live this way. While it was their goal to make sure their children would never be harmed. They distanced themselves from their children in a few aspects, but could not stop the sisters from bonding as well as they did. They were the closest that siblings could get, told one another everything, and loved one another unconditionally despite whatever happened between them. That was how things were supposed to be. At least that was how they considered it to be. However, Mother Nature would be sure to end that.
Training was important to them, especially since they were a small group. The two girls were training in the nearby river, practicing when swimming upstream while their parents watched them from a distance. Tawny grew tired and stepped out of the water for awhile to rest, sitting beside her parents and watching her sister persevere in the growing turbulence. Wind slowly began to pick up and Maria saw a few clouds in the distance, but did not really pay much mind to them. The dam that held the river back upstream would not break with a simple rainstorm. Only it wasn't a simple rainstorm. Within minutes, there seemed to be a fully fledged flash flood on her hands.
Tawny tried to race into the water after her sister when the dam broke, deepening the river and sweeping her beloved sister away from her. She escaped from the grasp of Jakobi for a split second, and the fierce winds lifted her small body and hurled her against a nearby rock. Her head made impact and she was knocked out cold. By the time she woke up, she had but a very faint memory of Jade. It was as if she knew that the female was there, but there was no real memory of her presenting itself to her mind. She sort of knew that she was there, but could not remember what she looked like, what her name was, or if she was even real to begin with.
Her parents said nothing, knowing that Jade was more than likely dead within the ocean that resided out there, swept away by something deadly. She could have been eaten or even died on impact when she hit the bottom of the waterfall. They did not know nor did they care to know. They did not want to lose their other daughter, so they left to join an all-Cael pack that was nearby, something that their daughters had never been aware of in the first place. The pack accepted them with open arms because of their blood, but only because they were Cael. Her mother and her father quickly made friends and settled within the pack, happy. Their daughter, on the other hand, did not.
Tawny was the only Cael in the pack to have the colors that she did. Most of them were blue or green in the scales, then gray, white, or black in the fur. Their eyes were of normal colors, and she could not help but be different. Compared to the others her age, she was very smart and excelled in everything she did, except making friends. Everyone taunted her and resented her for her colors, because as a whole the pack believed that she was to one day get them killed. Her colors would attract a predator and they would be a target traveling in the ocean. Soon enough, the males he had grouped himself with had managed to convince Jakobi of the same thing. That his daughter was an outcast, a freak. Maria loved her too much to hate her, loved her colors and her personality, which had evolved from the bright and happy thing it once was when she was a young child.
As Tawny grew, she became weary of the endless taunts and abuse that she received from the ones that she was supposed to call family and friends. The nickname Goldie was really beginning to wear on her nerves and she was on the very edge of snapping. Her time with her mother was the only reprieve she ever got, for it was then that she would sing her heart out to her mother, releasing all of the bottled up emotions inside of her. It made her feel better until she would return to the taunting. The pack was traveling up the coast of the lands, which would present her an opportunity to escape. She was about two years old when she stopped to observe some land wolves.
She was fascinated by the way they moved and acted, completely enraptured with their way of life. When Tawny swam closer to shore, Maria went after her, then halted when Jakobi said she simply wasn't worth it. Maria returned to the pod and they continued along their journey, leaving their pack member behind. Even though she had heard her father's words, Tawny continued on her way as though she never had. Dark had fallen by the time she decided to step foot onto the shore, and it was there that her training had initially began. The land wolves had gone and she had set foot onto something unfamiliar to her, something that would prove to save her life in certain situations.
Once Tawny had managed to teach herself to travel on land sufficiently enough to survive, she moved deeper into the land, where she entered the Nanjiro Swamp. Within a few days, she found herself joining the Quesse Anar Clan. It was there that, one day, she met a nice Cael named Jade. Now, Tawny had no remembrance of Jade whatsoever, but Jade remembered her. It was when Tawny licked her paw and swiped her paw over the back of her head that the other recognized her truly. It was something that only she did, but Tawny was still at a loss, even when Jade called her her sister. Until the old nickname Tawn came out of her mouth did Tawny not remember a thing about her.
The Quesse Anar Clan soon died off, but Tawny found herself leaving before it did. There was little pack activity and she found herself wanting more than just that. So, she left and found her way to Okoe Beach. It was there that she met Nelio, the Beta Male of the Clan. She had never met him, nor did she know of anyone besides her sister in the Clan and the leader, but she could not say she complains. Nelio proposed his idea of her, one of a traveling group made purely of Cael. Cael who traveled around to the packs and performed for each of them. Tawny, as open minded as she was, wanted something just as different as his idea. She offered to help him with it, to be an organizer of sorts.
Jade came to her eventually and asked to join the group, in turn losing her Beta Female position in the Clan. Not too much later, the pack died off. Tawny was delighted that her sister was there with her once more, but she noticed that more and more her sister showed up less and less. There was very little she could do about that, and it did not take long for Jade to vanish entirely. Not a word about where she had been going nor a goodbye if she had just disappeared. As Tawny grew closer to Nelio, her faith in her own blood sister had shattered completely. Sure, she still loved and missed her, but the chances of her being alive were slim and she knew. Besides, Jade had not said a word about leaving.
It broke Tawny's heart.
Joining their little group was Tortoiseshell, a deaf Cael, and Crow, a young Yagi. Both of them unsettled in her stomach, especially the Yagi, but she remained silent for the sake of the group. She did not want to ruin Nelio's dream. He had become like a brother to her and the last thing she wanted to do was take away the only dream he felt he had left. His only purpose. Truly, he was the only one she trusted with anything, and even she knows now that she will be nastily defensive about it. She would defend Crow, Tor, Dreamith, and even Raynor, who was from a pack, with her life. Just because she did not like them did not mean she could not protect them.
Tawny is walking on broken glass, yet she still smiles.
