It was an average day in the lands of The Kingdom, the air hot and the sun high. It seemed a small breeze had managed to sweep over the terrain now and then, offering some relief to any wolves finding themselves in need of it. Further from such heat, there were patches of shade or full areas in which wolves could relax and enjoy themselves.
He hadn't been here in a bit of time and he wasn't sure why he was here again. He still remembered his previous venture quite distinctly. It had been rather interesting, that was for sure. Yet much had changed since then, perhaps not just for himself personally. He was still much the same, but time had passed and events had happened, as they often do, and life had taught him a few things. He strode along on greyish-cream paws at an easy pace, brilliant crimson eyes gazing about him. He wondered if he would run into anyone from the last time he was here, or anyone else for that matter.
He was an ugly fellow, a young wolf with a meek build and quite a bit of fluff. He was mostly orange, his fur tipped in greys and creams. He greatly resembled his parents back home, or at least, what had been his home. He was Hladomor, and he felt no pride for his previous, filthy family. He felt drawn away, as if he had some better purpose elsewhere. Perhaps he would find he could be of much greater impact elsewhere. Still, he wasn't sure exactly why he was here in The Kingdoms life-sucking deserts. Perhaps he had just been lead here by some unknown force.
He allowed himself to stop as he reached the side of one of the various paradises along the landscape. He looked at the bubbling water for a moment, knowing he wasn't really in the mood for a swim, especially if the water wasn't cool. At least, not right at that moment. He looked up at one of the trees shading the spring and some of the other various foliage. It certainly wasn't like the jungle, but it was pretty and lifelike enough. At least it was better than the sun-scorched planes he had been on last time he was out here. He couldn't help a bit of a smile at the thought. Yes, he was happy to be at least in a bit of shade this time. He let out a brief sigh, sitting back and looking outward. Perhaps he might stay here.. just for a while.
