Tala trotted over the sandy dunes, having only the slightest bit of trouble, if any. This was a breeze to her! She had been living in this type of terrain her whole life, like most Eremus, and had learned to love it. Instead of finding the unbearable heat, well, unbearable, she has come to love it, mostly because it didn't bother her. Her long fur and large ears helped to cool her down. The sandy dunes that were usually so hard to climb up? She enjoyed the challenge, if there even was one! Her hooves made it easy to trek up these sandy hills.
Making it to the top, she scented a scent so sweet and wonderful, it made her mouth water. There was a pack here, she knew it. She stared at the surrounding area longingly, wondering if there was anymore Eremus there. Of course there would be! Not many other wolf species could stand this searing heat, the annoying sand dunes, the dangerous predators. Eremus could. It was simply home to them. Shaking her head, she cleared her mind of random thoughts that popped into her head and looked around again, wondering if the pack camp was anywhere near here, or if the Alpha or Alphess was near.
Of coure, this isn't what the pack here called their leaders. She'd heard of the Kingdom before, mostly because it was the whole reason she came here for! Deciding her best bet would be to howl for someone of importance to come and find her, to accept her hopefuly, she gently lifted her long, fox-like muzzle to the air and let out a melodic howl, calling one of importance.

He was searching for lonely, unfamiliar minds he could influence. Apocalypse, the lord of these sands, found a new creature to control.
The black mist, silhouetted as a wolf seemed to materialize in the mind's eye of the newcomer. He felt her howl echo across the sands. She was searching for the leaders was she? He had gained enough influence in this area to at least appear partially in the minds of newcomers.
"You called....?
His voice was a whisper in her mind, almost like a thought that surfaced for her. The dark form stood in the mind of the wolf, four dark rivers trailed behind him, one glowing through cracks like cooling molten lava Two red eyes smoldered in the darkness, waiting to be noticed.

Tala jumped a bit, surprised by the voice in her mind. Where had it come from? She looked around, not seeing anything, but a image of fiery eyes could be seen when she closed her eyes. A look ofr confusion crossing onto her face, she replied aloud, wondering how insane she would look. "Yes...Where are you?" The question left her maw on accident, then she shook her head. "Sorry. Yes, I did call. Are you leader of these lands? If so, I wish to join the Kingdom." She asked, somewhat fearing what would happen next, looking around rather frantically, as if a beast from Hell would rise from the barren sand right then and there. Was she...Frightened? Most likely. She didn't feel this feeling often, but when she did, it hit her like thunder.

It empowered him, he inhaled deeply, relishing in the affect he had on her. He could gather most of her sporadic thoughts, enough to know that she saw him as a sort of beast. He snorted a little at that, as his form solidified in her mind.
He was tall, with a smokey colored pelt. He had a broad, barrel chest, strong facial structure and tall ears that sit upon his head like a crown. He had a strong, proud form. The four rivers behind him shortened slightly, actually looking more like tails now, despite the molten appearance. His maw split into a firery grin, as if he were a golem.
"Now now...I'm right here, with you." In her minds eye he placed an image that seemed to resemble him standing next to her in the sand. "I control these lands." His voice rolled like thunder dipped in honey. He bent close to her, whispering in her ear, "You will help build for Ma'at, it is as I decree" Despite him not actually being next to her, there was a slight breeze that accompanied his voice. His presence was strong here, and he reveled in it.
He was the High Deity of the land....he was Apocalypse.

She heard his powerful voice, and saw the image of him in her head. Now that she saw him, it wasn't so frightening, really, it was more mystifying and amazing than frightening, although it still had a little jump to it. Now she looked next to her, seeing his form there, and she prevented herself from jumping an inch away, not quite sure when he got there. But he was there. Or so she thought. Now she listened to his voice, the voice that rolled like a river, boomed like thunder. It was filled with authority, and she was right about that part. He was leader of these lands.
"I will help build?" She repeated his demand, and nodded her head swiftly and quickly. "As you order. I will help build." She agreed with his words, glad to have been accepted. It felt good to be part of a family-like thing, although she hadn't met anyone but this leader yet. "May I ask, Sir, what is your name?" She had to ask, to address him properly. She hoped he didn't mind her asking, but most didn't, so she thought she'd take a crack at it. Of course, though, he obviously wasn't like most wolves. He talked to others through their minds, strange as it is. But she didn't mind this. It'd be easy to get used to quickly. She hoped.

A few years was nothing to him, he had been around countless eras. His form shimmered a little. His projection was really more of a mirage, or a solid shadow, next to the strange wolf.
She obeyed him like she had always known him. If all the wanders of the desert were like that, Ma'at would have her empire sooner than expected. All four tails twitched slightly. The words of the wolf made his eyes burn into her, as if he were looking at her very soul.
"I am the High Deity, Apocalypse." The words empowered him, furthering his confidence in this plan. He stood tall and proud, further imposing his image into the mind of the wolf.

A distant howl echoed in her lands, calling her presence forth. This elicited a bit of a groan from the Mortui. Really, now just was not a good time. Her tongue had managed to rot out of her mouth and was now mummifying in the hot sands. Until she finished actively restoring it (which was always a bother given how taxing it was on her energy reserves) she could not go gallivanting off to meed new possessions. What good was a pharaoh that could not could not talk? Not much good at all when her goal was to collect as many subjects for her Kingdom as was within her realm of power.
Hopefully someone else would be able to entertain her guest while muscle tissue was forced to regrow itself. It was a slow and tedious process, and by the time it had finished she was panting unnecessarily. The breathing was more out of habit than necessity, considering she was already dead. Unfortunately, the upkeep for a decaying body was greater than her powers allowed. While she would be able to prolong her un-life well past that of a natural Mortui, Ma'at would one day meet her end. Eventually the decay rate would outrun the healing process and finally she would cease to exist.
But until then, she had a Kingdom to run. Cracking her joints, the corpse headed out into the blazing sun. The weather barely phased her, and by the time she crested the appropriate dune her tongue was feeling fine in her mouth. The large, intimidating shadow she cast was equally imposing as her rotting form. Ma'at was a large beast who carried her weight well. As she closed the distance between herself and the Eremus, the pride strides and final stance clearly indicated that she was someone of importance. This was her domain, and without really trying she made damn sure that everybody knew it. "Ey now, what 'ave we 'ere? Welcome to t'Kingdom of t'Ere-Bes." Her smile was more possessive than inviting, tone indicative of an entrance not to be undone.
