It wasn't raining but water drizzled down from the trees from the resent storm. The waters of the swamp had risen considerably, at least that’s what it seem like for Spice. He growled his paws sank deep into the mud hiding underneath the waters that nearly covered his back. Golden fur was covered and weighed down by the muddy waters. The small Myou struggled over to the roots of a nearby mangrove tree.
Spice's claws slide and scraped at the roots, tearing way their brown covering to the white flesh underneath. Ears folding back in frustration he struggled to free himself from the watery depths that trapped him, wondering once again why he stayed in this forsaken place. The young wolf he had fallowed here no longer needed him. His role in her life was over and now he found he had lost the sense of purpose he had gained by meeting her.
Finally he clamored out of the murky pool and onto the root. Sighing with exhaustion he laid down to rest. Why he ever left his den he never knew. Hunting was almost impossible and always a disappointment for the small wolf.

Phoenix was trying to hunt jackalope, but she had slipped and it bolted away from her and down into a hole. She hated this weather her element was practically useless here in the swamp, her bright red pelt was drenched and muddy. She walked over to a somewhat dry patch of grass and tried to clean up her pelt.
Phoenix was tired, she didn't know the territory very well for she had joined the clan only a week before, with her mate Raja but now she was starting to think that going off hunting by herself in this unfamilier territory wasn't such a good idea. She stood up and continued on hoping to find another wolf who knew the territory a bit better, but the wind was blowing away from her so she knew she wouldn't have the advantage of hearing or scenting the wolf until she was only a few feet away.

Spice huddled down, shivering as wind chilled his damp pelt. Cringing he sneezed. One amber eye cracked open. Bright red fur stood out against the green and brown surroundings. Sitting up he lifted his head to check the sent that drifted to him on the bitter wind, sighing audibly when it was the scent of his own clan. Raising to his paws the mud streaked Myou crossed the roots of the trees to the strip of land where the lupus stood.
"Hey," Spice greeted, he was roughly half her height. His large ears folded back as another wind cut through.

Phoenix wipped her head around and bared her teeth, snarling until she looked and found a small Myou who carried the scent of her clan, she relaxed now staring at the small Myou.
"Hi, she replied, "sorry about that, you scared me. I'm Phoenix, whats your name?" she asked, her tail wagging.

The small Myou's thick golden fur stood on end when the bright lupus turned to snarl at him. As she realized he was no threat Spice tried to calm himself and flatten his fur. It was difficult with her being so much bigger than him.
"Spice," he replied, keeping his voice steady. He could always play off his ruffled fur as being chilled by the wind. "So what are you out and about for?" Spice sat while he made idle conversation. He glanced down and winced at the state of his pelt. Would it be better to clean it off now or use water? It was a dilemma to the proud Myou but he decided to leave the mud for now. No use getting the awful stuff all over his tongue at this point in time.

She towered over him, so she decided to lay down so she would be at least eye level with him, she no longer cared about her pelt for if she licked off the mud it would just get dirty again. "I was trying to hunt, but everything escapes my claws, for i don't know this territory or the best places for prey, i can't even keep my footing in this wet place." she answered, "I hate it here!!! My element doesn't work!" she cried. She stared at the Myou, ashamed for letting her feelings out so openly. "Can you show me the way back to the clan?" She stood up, heating up her pelt turning the wet mud hard and crusty to the point where it just started crumbling onto the ground, her fiery pelt glowing underneath as she stood there waiting for Spice to reply. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My inner darkness shines as bright,
as a hundred million rays light.
Darkness cannot shine you say?
Well mine is brighter than the day.
It illuminates my heart and soul,
breaks me down, then builds me whole.
It shines in me wherever I am,
and makes me just not give a damn.
For when you have darkness inside,
there's no happy place to hide.
You see the world as it is for real,
where people hate, and hurt, and kill.
With light inside you see only good,
and live a good life as everyone should.
So why is it that I choose the dark,
when light by comparison is a walk in the park?
It's because darkness prepares you for what can go wrong,
cause the world's going to Hell, and Earth doesn't have long.
Darkness teaches you caution, be prepared all the time,
disaster and tragedy strike with no reason or rhyme.
Darkness teaches you stealth, used for hiding your stash,
to appear out of nowhere, or disappear in a flash.
But, the main reason it's the darkness I choose,
is because when I die, I'll have nothing to lose. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The muddy Myou nodded in agreement. It was indeed difficult to hunt in this territory, especially sense Spice wasn't built for the swamp. The clan teacher could indeed relate to the crimson she- wolf but still nearly jumped out of his fur when she snapped. 'I never used to be this paranoid,' Spice thought bitterly to himself. He breathed deeply to calm himself once again and let his amber eyes wander past her to hide his slight discomfort at Phoenix's wild moods.
"Of course," Spice said and flicked his head for her to follow him back to the sanctuary. He watched in awe and slight jealously, wishing he could get free of his mud encasing just as easily. "Cool trick," he complimented as he started to head back to the Clan.
