have no fear, for when i'm alone, i'll be better off then i was beforePetite black paws picked their ground carefully along the unstable marsh. Cadryns coat was sodden with dew and mud; dragging heavily on her thin body. A pale, grungy sunset braced itself on the horizon and a feeble light poked through the trees. Although it was spring, which was usually warm and kind in the swamp this time of year, a merciless breeze penetrated the vixens coat, causing a shiver to run down her spine. She licked her lips and lowered her head, sniffing until she picked up the bitter scent of a Hopwood plant. Cadryns nose prodded the soft, heart-shaped leaves until she met with the fat, round berries. " Seagrape," she contently sighed. The crackling of a branch alerted her, but a quick glance around her revealed nothing of interest. "Hello?" she quietly pipped. Though cautious, the hunger still gnawed at her belly, so she resumed eating the berries. Her eyes and ears swiveled to every single sound; the rustling of the trees, the chirps of the random bird; the croaking of the frogs. With no berries left on the stem, Cadryn rose her head and plodded on. As the crackling of branches returned, the wolf stopped dead in her tracks and glanced around nervously. Just in case any wolves were around, the lanky femme dropped her tail in between her legs and whimpered, "I mean no harm,". i've got this life, ill be around to grow, who i was before, i cannot recall.

Violet eyes watched as the lithe female ate her fill of berries. The brown Keiyou winced slightly at the creak of the branch he perched upon and moved to at sturdier limb. Chance debated the appropriate time to tell this new comer of her trespasses. Had he been a different wolf his hackles would be raised and teeth bared. But he was Chance and he knew the struggles of being a loner on pack lands and preferred a less hostile approach to strangers.
Once done eating the Lupus began to wonder again. Chance followed gliding from tree to tree. A twig snapped as his wing brushed past. The female froze her as the winged wolf landed, claws scraping the bark. "I mean no harm," the other whimpered.
Chance's tail flicked from side to side as he contemplated how to answer. He studied the Lupus debating which tactic of conversion would go over better. He decided on a peaceful approach "Welcome to Quesse Anar Territory. Are you lost?"

The unfamiliar sound of a voice penetrated the wolves ears. She nervously turned around and, trying her best to avoid eye contact, spoke almost at a mutter. "To.. be honest, no. I was wandering these lands in search of a pack .. in search of anyone, anything," her words were shaky, the tones raising and dropping, growing louder then quieter. "I'm an experienced healer!" she suddenly blurted out. It was much louder then she expected, and she shuddered at her own tone. A crow blurted out a complain before fluttering out of the trees. "I.. I'm sorry. I'm a terrible talker," she winced.
Her amber eyes finally rose to meet with the wolves above her. Cadryn studied the small wolf; his wings were mottled with brown and white; his coat a similar tone. He was small; almost puppy-like. She let her eyes raise and fall a few times before finally meeting and holding her gaze. His eyes were a deep violet; they were kind, nonthreatening. Feeling less threatened, she let her large ears fall back into their place. She straightened her spine and resumed her natural position, letting her tail flick every once and again while she delved into her thoughts.
It was a minute or two before she realized there was another wolf before her. Raising her head, she spoke hastily, yet with conviction. "I wish to join your pack,"
With that, she shook her coat off and smiled.

(( Hope you don't mind if I barge in. :3 ))
Following the scent of others on the breeze, Sasha was determined to track down a sign of life. The mild flooding this season had made it harder to maneuver around the Swamp for him. Of course he could fly... for short distances, and not very well. He was only half peacock, not whole. The wolf half of his body was more equiped for ground travel.
But of course, this did nothing to dampen his spirits. Sasha had always been a cheerful one. After all, he was the magnificent Defender of Wolfkind! He wanted to meet everyone who had chosen to linger around on his territory these days. And he wanted to protect them and awe them with his proud beauty.
Hopping from tree branch to root to falllen log, the bird myou was avoiding the water until he reached solid enough ground to stand on. Even then, the ground was muddy and mushy and he held his tail and wings well clear of it. It would not do to make himself look like he'd just crawled out of a bubbling mud hole.
Sasha sniffed the air delicately and found that he could smell a familiar scent- Chance! Oh joy, it was his Keiyou friend that he hadn't seen in ages. Apparently the swamp was huge. And there was another scent. Female, to be exact. She stood a little way off. He held his head high and practically danced up to them. "Why hello! Chance, is this stunning female new?" He gushed. Sasha was a flirt, a master of flattery, and in his own way... he was a prince of cunning. Or just an air-headed peacock who by some means of insane luck had made his way into the King's chair.

Chance tried not to jump when she blurted out about her healing abilities but he couldn't keep his feathers from ruffling slightly. It was easier to calm down as she analyzed him and relaxed a bit. The brown molted Keiyou knew it was easy to feel safer around him. His small stature made him non-threatening and the truth was that Chance wasn't. If given the choice he would run. Only now a days did it seem he had no choice, he had a pack to look after now.
"I wish to join your pack," the lupus said. At this Chance's ears perked. He leapt of his perch and glided to the ground. It would do no good having to shout introductions. "My name is-", Chance was cut off by the flamboyant arrival of his Alpha. Chance rolled his violet eyes and turned to greet the cocky Myou. "Sashura, this is-," Chance stopped realizing he didn't know his companion's name. He looked at her head bowed in apology, "I'm sorry, what's your name?"
