Apollo like always had wandered off again this time the furthest he had ever been. Without any siblings that he knew were still around or even alive and a mother and father who stuck to themselves and left him all alone most of the time at the den with no one to play with an nothing to do. He had a lot of spare time and he usually spent that exploring or trying his useless attempts at flying. He now found himself in the swamp carefree and just looking for something to do or someone to talk to. Something moved in his line of vision and he spun around seeking the source of the noise with his golden eyes.
He soon found it, a big fat frog hopping around in the wiry grass and mud. His eyes lit up with excitement as he started to stalk it his feathered tail wagging ever so slightly. He jumped but so did the frog and it turned into a game of leap frog. He didn't care he really had no intentions of catching the frog it was just for amusement. He jumped again but didn't see the puddle of mud beneath the grass and he slipped and fell in it with a splash. He stood up coughing up mud and groaning, he was filthy! His yellow paws all the way up to his dark brown feathered chest were coated in mud. He stepped out of the puddle and shook himself off then started to look for a pool to wash off.
He soon found one and jumped in not even worrying about the possible dangers in the water he just wanted the mud to be off of his fur and feathers. He splashed around noisily dipping his head under the water trying to catch fish. He failed as he was not trying and didn't exactly enjoy the feel of wet feathers. But he enjoyed shrieking like an eagle and watching the fish freak out and swim in circles at his paws. He continued his shrieking with a few puppyish laughs in between. This was his way of amusing himself.
